Man Man's newest album, Dream Hunting In The Valley Of The In-Between is an accidental soundtrack to the pandemic. Theatrical, bombastic, catchy, and funny, the album is Honus Honus' (Man Man's singer-writer-everything guy) greatest accomplishment. Man Man was born in Philly, and Honus joined us to talk about the album, Man Man's Philly roots, seedless grapes, and of course, Danny Green. This is already one of our favorite episodes.

Daniel Hart is doing a lot of stuff, and most of it is cool. Hart is the voice and one of the creative visions behind Dark Rooms, as well as a prolific film score (and podcasts, and TV shows) composer. We talked to Hart about Dark Rooms, his scores for projects like A Ghost Story, S-Town and The Old Man And The Gun, and his affinity for early-2000's Philadelphia indie music. We also of course talk about his new rescue dog, Daphne. Thanks Eliza!

Marian Hill is (are?) Jeremy Lloyd and Samantha Gongol. They're from Philadelphia, and somehow the 76ers brought their music to the intro music of this podcast. We talk to Jeremy and Samantha about their process of making music, filling up the stage with just two people, getting a song into an AirPods commercial, the music they've made during the Covid-19 era, and what they're looking forward to most once it's over. Check out everything they do at marianhillmusic.com and on Twitter (mostly basketball) @MarianHillMusic.

We also talk to Devon Gilfillian, a Delco native who just released cover of Marvin Gaye's classic album What's Goin On, and just this year released his major label debut, Black Hole Rainbow. Introducing the Carl Landry Record Club, hosted by Spike Eskin and Mutlu. We like discovering music from other people, rather than algorithms. Each week we will listen to three records we love (one from each of us, and one from you), and talk about them. We'll also talk to musicians we love. Hopefully you love it too. Suggest album by leaving it in the Apple reviews. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
