Why do pastors shrink from a “political approach?” They are asked by campaigns to endorse their candidate, to stand with their candidate, some are even paid to do those things. Pastors have a higher calling - that calling is to God above and no party nor candidate warrants that type of honor.
These are the biggest reasons pastors recoil when asked to be overtly political:
a. They’ve been lied to intentionally by those who seek to keep the church from being influential;
b. They’ve been burned before by political people who have taken advantage of the pastors in their area or state;
c. They don’t know American history enough to know and grasp the traditional role of the pastor influencer in each community;
d. They’re genuinely afraid of losing members or money and have lost their focus on Matt 28 admonition to disciple their people;
e. They’re cowards who would rather not do anything “controversial” and hide behind their pulpits;

It showed the depth of ignorance to what it takes to earn trust among people who deeply value truth and authenticity and it’s exactly why political approaches from parties or orgs always has and always will, fall far short.

Faith Wins was birthed out of a necessity to do it for every election.
