In this episode of #TheSpeakerShow, Maria Franzoni interviews Jim Lawless.

Record breaking freediver and voted #1 Motivational Speaker outside of the US in the 2021 Global Guru rankings, Jim Lawless has inspired over a million people on five continents through his presentations and playbook for change ‘Taming Tigers’.

As CEO of transformation architects Symmetry, my guest and his team have been instrumental in the adaptations of international organisations, fast-growth companies and Olympic Teams.

Author of the international best seller ‘Taming Tigers’, he became a televised jockey (and lost 25% of his bodyweight) within 12 months of sitting on a horse. He also became the deepest free diver in British history within 8 months.

Both of these ‘impossible’ adaptations were experiments to test and validate the playbook he shares. Both were done alongside his day job - as most transformations are.

Outside of his work as well as being a Dad, he is a helicopter pilot, kundalini yoga practitioner, free diver and classical pianist.

In this fascinating episode, we discuss:

  • Is Resilience Redundant?
  • Taming Tigers
  • Motivation
  • Impossible adaptations

In this episode of #TheSpeakerShow, Maria Franzoni interviews Clive Tyldesley

Speaking live to an audience of a couple of hundred delegates in a conference hall can be an intimidating prospect. Clive Tyldesley has spoken live to an audience of more than 20 million television viewers on many different occasions.

He has been working in television since 1987… 24 Champions League finals… 7 World Cups… been there, seen it, called it.

His recent semi-autobiographical book provides a fascinating insight into the relationships he has forged with football greats from Clough to Dalglish and Ferguson to Hoddle.

In this fascinating episode, we discuss:

In this episode of #TheSpeakerShow, Maria Franzoni interviews Robert Mazur. Robert Mazur was a highly sophisticated, mob connected, money launderer for Pablo Escobar’s Medellin Drug Cartel, a criminal organisation that was, at the time, the largest drug trafficking enterprise in the world. For years, Robert was a conduit between drug barons and corrupt bankers & lawyers that taught him some of the most sophisticated and secretive methods of laundering billions. He was so well liked by his cohorts in crime around the world that they travelled to a Florida country club to attend his wedding. It was at that affair that they lost their freedom and were taken into custody by US Federal agents. What they soon learned was that he was actually a US Federal Undercover Agent.

After testifying for years at trials in North America and Europe about his dealings with Escobar’s killers and bankers, Robert Mazur was recruited by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to carry out another covert operation. This time, he was tasked to build a new cover, and infiltrate Colombia’s Cali Drug Cartel, a cartel that had replaced Escobar’s cartel as the largest in the world. As he worked his way into the Cali underworld, a silent cancer grew about him in the mafia. Unbeknownst to him, his identity had been compromised by a corrupt fellow agent. That corruption nearly cost him his life.

Robert has shared both of these stories with the world. He is the NY Times Bestselling author of THE INFILTRATOR, a memoir about his deep-cover infiltration of Pablo Escobar’s Medellin Cartel and the banks that serviced Escobar’s fortunes. THE INFILTRATOR book became the basis for the internationally released movie by the same name, starring Bryan Cranston.

Now, he has written his latest book, THE BETRAYAL, a memoir of his subsequent infiltration of the Cali Drug Cartel, their bankers, and his near death at the hands of a dirty fellow agent.

In this fascinating episode, we discuss:

  • Money Laundering
  • Financial Escapades of the Underworld
  • Corruption
  • Drug Trafficking

Enjoy a short bonus episode from our host Sean Pillot de Chenecey, best-selling author and insight/innovation/strategy expert.

At a time when we’re all constantly checking the news for the latest update on Covid-19, there’s another problem which affects us all.

It links together how we pass on messages about our favourite (or most detested) politician, how we transmit information about brands and celebrities, and it’s directly connected to the virus.

That’s because we’re living in a media landscape where the truth is deliberately manipulated, trust has been catastrophically devalued and organised disinformation is a growth business.

So in this podcast, Sean Pillot de Chenecey discusses insights about 'System 1 & 2 Thinking' from his best-selling book 'The Post-Truth Business' - which was a finalist in the 2019 'Business Book of the Year' awards.

Understanding and utilising an awareness of 'how we think' is being highlighted as a crucial means of combating fake news and disinformation about the virus. Therefore, this podcast explains how the brain processes information, and why an issue most usually discussed in relation to advertising agencies, is being connected to the most crucial issue of our time.
