If you are an Entrepreneurs, Solopreneur, Business Owner, Artist, Writer, or have a dream of being one of these then you will want to begin to consider yourself as an HLP. It also means that, if you want to see your dreams through to the end, then you must become unstoppable, at all costs. Remember, only your entire existence depends upon it, that's all :)
For High Level Performers one of the most valuable things that can happen is to have 'the million dollar moment'. This is when they suddenly have a massive breakthrough or 'ah ha' moment, when they are able to see themselves, how or why they do what they do. For HLP's this is like Gold and cannot be measured in value in any way.
One of the most insidious forms of self sabotage and, of which, an HLP must become aware of if they want to stay in the HLP Zone is the 'celebration self sabotage'. This is where feel the need to celebrate before you've even gotten started with your objective. This happens to many people, mostly due to the need for approval or instant gratification. Both of these are death to the entrepreneur.
Wait until you accomplish something meaningful before you sit down to celebrate.
One of the most insidious forms of subconscious programming in this world is becoming 'entrained' mentally. This means that you have given over the proprietary rights to your thinking to big corporations and mass mind belief systems. Your mind is your primary tool to create your reality and HLP's instinctively know this and go through great lengths to protect it.
An extremely important, often overlooked, always underestimated ability is the ability to embrace change. As a High Level Performer you will want to be able to adapt to change as well as make any necessary changes to your life and your approach to your business.
As an HLP your primary responsibility is to expanding yourself in every way possible, no matter what. In order to achieve this expansion, you must become disciplined. This means, disciplined in your actions, thoughts, and deeds. Even the painter is disciplined in that she knows she must paint every single day. The painting will not paint itself. She is also aware of the fact that she must achieve a certain 'state' in which to allow the painting to come through. As such, she becomes self disciplined in everything she does in life, towards that one aim.
Early on HLP's differentiate themselves from the masses by creating and holding to a 'Master Vision'. This is the larger picture of the outcome of all of their dedicated, focused efforts to create their dream and change the world. It's good to understand the difference between visions and pipe dreams because one will lead you to achieve all of your goals by taking appropriate actions (even meditation is an action, yes?) and the other will have you day dreaming about an alternate reality.
One of the most insidious forms of sabotage is the need for approval or validation in the form of wanting to share your ideas. As an up and coming HLP, you will need to let go of this. This is due to the fact that those who feel the compulsion to share their ideas with people are usually looking for validation. And, if you are still looking for validation, then you are not ready to succeed. Become solid within yourself and KNOW that your ideas are worthy.
A common characteristic of all HLP's I have ever talked to is that they hire coaches. HLP's instinctively recognize the limitations of not having someone around to offer feedback and reflection and simultaneously crave feedback and constructive criticism. As such, they will hire at least one coach, and sometimes often have as many as 4! HLP's want the growth and ability to see their blind spots, which is difficult to do on your own.
It's important to realize that YOU are your biggest investment when it comes to your ability to create business, art, make money, or accomplish anything of merit. HLP's understand that in order to succeed in life, they must make the most important investment of all, which is to invest time, money, and energy on their own well being. As such, they will get regular massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, take vacations, and have fun. This is critical to maintaining the creative process, which drives the ability to do everything.
One of my biggest pet peeves is how people use the mantra 'I'm perfect in my imperfection'. The problem with this mantra is that people more generally use it as a means to do nothing. The origin of this phrase was for those people who don't believe in themselves because they feel unworthy. Thus, for those who were down-trodden, or had big trouble believing that they deserved to have a good life, this phrase had real value. However, it has been grabbed and taken and used by those who actually want to validate living a mediocre life. It's one thing to accept your life as it is and know that you are happy, it's quite another thing to use a phrase like this to validate dropping the ball in life. HLP's don't dream of being perfect, instead they try to improve themselves every single day.
This is an interesting episode because it demonstrates how the average person will combine two negative attitudes to create one result: an excuse not to do it. The average person will both create excuses not to take actions as well as discredit those who have done what they, themselves, desire to accomplish. This is the most toxic attitude to have: where you simultaneously discredit those people who have the potential to inspire you and then use this as an excuse not to do it. The belief is that 'well, they had it easy' or 'it was handed to them' or 'they have a special gift' or 'they had a life of privilege' etc. Instead of ANY of that, as an HLP you thrive on those people who would inspire you to greatness. This is your Soul Food and you wouldn't dream of discrediting anything about the amazing Souls who inspire you to rise up.
The morning is the most important part of your day because it is the launchpad upon the foundation of the creation of the entire rest of your day. Without a solid morning routine, you are exponentially less efficient. Therefore, creating an empowering, centering, expansive morning routine will help you to have a powerfully productive day.
This episode is about understanding why HLP's never ask 'Why' they ask 'How'. Instead of 'Why me?' they ask 'How can I change it?' Understanding the difference between asking How instead of Why will help you to become a High Level Performer.
As an HLP, one of the most important things that you must learn how to do is to 'execute'. This is an essential characteristic of an HLP, the ability to execute plans, ideas, and actions to achieve your goals. Without this skill you cannot be an HLP.
As an HLP your consistent mission is to challenge the limits of your own consciousness. A powerful way to do this is by challenging yourself to expand and think of your vision or goal X's 100. What is the biggest vision you can think of? Now, multiply that times 100. This exercise is to help your creativity break free of limitation and allow you to create your highest vision of yourself.
An essential attitude of a HLP is acknowledging the journey. This means that you do not entertain the idea of become bored, tired, or discouraged. Rather, you dig in, sit down, and do the work: every day. You show up and do the work, that's it.
