Are Twelve Podcast (R12): Recent Episodes

Shawn Coulter

Students of R12 invite community members to our classroom to sit down for an interview. Our goal is to strengthen our understanding of a particular hobby/interest through people who have experienced it first-hand. We are interested in learning the pathway to success, and about our guests' achievements.

Here we get a description of what my daughter thinks of staying home and COVID-19. I mix in a few discussions about sports headlines including; the NHL players not 'SUIT'ing up for games, and the MLB looking to change Extra Innings into a Homerun Derby! The Episode finishes with me asking you all to give suggestions on what you would like to hear on the podcast moving forward and a description of what Episode 3 will sound like (Comedic). Headphones up, enjoy the sode.

What better way to kick off a Podcast than with a best buddy you share an awful lot in common with and have the opportunity to chat with fairly often. Scotty is a French teacher, at the moment, a long time grade 5 teacher, a father of two, grandfather of one, and everybody's friend. In the Pilot Episode, he shares a little bit about growing up in Saskatoon, being a father/grandfather, his passion for sports, and his path to becoming a teacher.

If you know Scott, you also know we could have kept this episode going for hours. He is a wealth of knowledge and has been a voice of reason for me on a number of occasions. We recorded this Podcast in order to demonstrate to students what am interview podcast could sound like. I honestly had a lot of fun doing this, even though we've hardly begun to scratch the surface of The Legend of Scott Lyons.

Headphones on... Enjoy the sode.
