Formerly known as "Code 224", The Brook Broadcast is a podcast project in which students work together to debate and discuss contemporary issues in society.
In this podcast, Erin Kiszka, Janani Murugan, Victoria Page, and Daniela Paul discuss the Texas power grid and the terrible winter storm that ravaged the state in February of 2021. They investigate what went wrong during the storm and why ERCOT and energy companies reacted the way they did. The Texas power grid is unique and complicated, so several aspects of the energy market (ranging from consumers to suppliers to government officials) are analyzed to determine what the Texas power grid does well and what could be improved in order to prevent disasters in the future.

Teenagers Jasmine Tran and Victoria Cruz delve into the dangers and concerns that the gaming platform, Roblox, presents to young children. Following COVID-19, Roblox has only risen in popularity which only begs the question of how children can continue to reap the benefits of the internet while also staying safe amidst the foreign dangers Roblox may present. Although Roblox can be an immersive and artistically enlightening experience, it may simultaneously catapult any young, impressionable child into a scary world of exploitation and other various dangers that they are certainly far too young to be experiencing. In an undeniably technological world, parents must ask themselves the inevitable question: what perils must we keep young children from encountering, and how may we preserve their well-being while allowing them to explore what the internet has to offer? Having previous experience with Roblox, Jasmine and Victoria are aware of the exploitation that is likely to occur. Their goal is to bring awareness to parents about the world they are releasing their children into on a daily basis.
