On this week's show we recap the Phillies-Mets series in London and of course the Yankees vs Dodgers series in the Bronx. Angel Hernandez has finally retired from Major League Baseball and we end with some Juan Soto free agency possibilities.
A lot has happened in just the last week. Jung Hoo Lee out for the season, Shota Imanaga lowers his era to 0.84 in 9 starts, Ronel Blanco suspended for 10 games after being ejected for a foreign substance and David Fletcher is under MLB investigation for allegedly using the same illegal bookmaker as Ippei Mizuhara.
Ric recaps his weekend trip to Kansas City and Kauffman Stadium with the Suite Life crew. Willson Contreras out at least 6 weeks after a freak injury behind home plate. Padres strike again and acquire Luis Arraez from the Miami Marlins, plus Ric and Ralphie talk some other names that could be on the move way early before the trade deadline. We end with the Dodgers-Padres weekend preview.
It was a chaotic week of the ump show taking over baseball. Aaron Boone, Mike Schildt, Skip Schumaker all get ejected while umpires do not get held accountable for their horrific calls. Rockies and White Sox still stink, Guardians are fun and the Mets are hot. We end with a little bit of NBA and NHL playoffs.
Ric and Ralphie recap the spicy Padres Dodgers series in Los Angeles over the weekend. Guardians and Royals continue to play well. The Rockies still stink. Braves lose Spencer Strider for the year. Tyler O’Neill and Kyle Freeland go down with freak injuries on Monday. We end the show with some UFC 300 and WNBA draft talk.
Ric recaps his visit to Petco Park and Angel Stadium over the past week. Spencer Strider and Framber Valdez both go down with potentially significant elbow injuries, Guardians lose Shane Bieber to Tommy John surgery. Blake Snell makes his Giants debut and it does not go well. We record this episode as the Padres complete a wild 8-0 comeback against the Cubs and Ric has to control his emotions.
