I am starting a new series on the podcast around racism in America.
I recently watched the documentary on Netflix - When They See Us - and was moved to start a conversation and be better educated on what it is like being black in America. The series will include me having a conversation with different black people, hearing their stories and experiences, and talking about hidden or unconscious biases we as white people might have.
Racism is a problem and we need to confront in. Hard conversations need to be had and people need to be heard. Join the conversation and LISTEN. Listen to the stories and experiences and be made aware of ways you may be racist without even knowing it.

In this episode, we talk about her journey being a surrogate, like I said, she is generous and selfless and gracious. I have always heard of people being surrogates, but I have actually never actually known one, so when I met Sara, I knew I wanted to get all the details on it. *FAIR WARNING: this episode contains a lot of pregnancy talk. The nicest, most generous guy I know.
I found Andrew (A.J.) on Instagram scrolling through photos of NeedToBreathe. There was this picture of Bear, the lead singer, with a sweet graphic over the top, so I clicked on the picture, and then I clicked on Andrew's Instagram name (aj_godfrey)and saw that he lives in Abilene and that a lot of my friends know him/follow him. So I followed him and then reached out to him to have him on the podcast.
Jeff and I made the day trip to Abilene a few weeks ago and hung out with Andrew and looked around the city of Abilene. Andrew is literally the nicest, most generous guy I know. He took us all over Abilene, got us some coffee, some pizza for lunch, drove us around and everything.
Andrew is the Worship Pastor at Radiant Life Church in Abilene. He grew up in Dallas, went to ACU for college and is now committed to Abilene. He is also a Graphic Designer. He is talented, creative, generous, welcoming, and an all around great dude. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
