One of the greatest skills we can learn as Christians is to lift our eyes to the Lord. Life is hard, but God is good. We lift our eyes to the goodness of God, to behold the face of the King of Glory. Who is this King of Glory? Join us as we explore the answer together in Psalm 24.
We all desire to be known. To be seen. To be validated. But our individuality often gets lost in life's shuffle. Before we know it, we're just another face in a crowd, another ID number on a spreadsheet. But Jesus has an uncanny ability to see both the crowd and the individual. He sees you, He knows you and He is for you. Join us in Mark 5 as we read about just such an encounter, where one woman in a crowd caught Jesus' attention and received more than she ever could have bargained for.
It was a weekend that changed the world. Friday, Saturday, Sunday; death, burial, resurrection. Friday ended a ministry, Sunday launched a movement. But what about Saturday? Saturday, the day after it ended, the day before it really began. What sets us apart, what determines if we really will become who God has called and empowered us to be, is largely determined by what we do with the Saturdays in our lives. Join us as we explore Mark 4 and 5 to discover the power of Saturday's seeds.
Seeds. So small, so easy to overlook, so easy to underestimate. In our lives we are often looking for big miracles, and, when God places a small seed into our hand, we overlook the potential contained therein. Join us as we read selections from Mark 4 to see the importance of believing the seed.
The Other Side. It's full of people who are not like us. People whose lives offend our notions of dignity. People whose customs and rhythms of life test our patience and tax our energy. Yet Jesus calls us to "go to the other side." Join us as we explore Mark chapter 4 and what it might require of us to get to The Other Side.
Jesus continually redefined man-made theological boxes. The Pharisees loved scripture but were often misguided in its application. Join us as we explore Luke 14 and the compassion Jesus had for the broken and the marginalized.
One of the most important things we can do as Christ-followers is to work to establish the Kingdom of God. But what does it even mean to “establish the Kingdom?" There were entire groups of people in Scripture who got the answer to that question wrong. And Jesus told them, “I am taking the Kingdom away from you and giving it to those who will produce its fruit.” Join us as we unpack these scriptures in Matthew chapters 20-22 to find out what role we play in God’s Kingdom.
Have you ever felt like life had stripped you? Maybe in your particular case it was resources, time, ideas, maybe even relationships. In any case, these are not fun reasons. But what if, like Gideon, stripping was actually equipping? Join us as we explore Judges 7 to discover the beauty of being stripped, and how, very often, being stripped is actually being equipped.
Our God us bigger than anything going on around us. His word is stronger and we can overcome any obstacle. Pastor Lonny guides us through being a people of Hope with this encouraging message.
