Whenever God decides to transition you, it is designed to do 2 things:

  1. It is designed to bridge two timelines.
  2. It is designed to mobilize you from 1 place to another place.

Question:
Why would God need to bridge two timelines?

To help you understand what you been through is tethered to where God wants to take you.

Genesis 50:20, Genesis 45:7
The departure of Joseph was actually the deployment of Joseph. Joseph being sold by His brothers was God deploying Joseph to be the solution of his families salvation.

Romans 8:26-28
All things..... that is good, bad ugly and or indifferent works together for our good. This truth also address the bridging of timelines. For if all things can work together to be used to produce what is good then God can also use multiple experiences in time that occurres in your life to work for your benefit as well.

Phillippians 3:12-14

Question:
Why does God have you in a transition?

Because He is not content nor satisfied with the place you are in.

God creates Transitions to Bridge multiple timeliness to help you see His plan and your purpose.

Not only that, but God creates transitions to mobilize you from one place to another to help activate and initiate your forward progression towards your purpose.

Exodus 12:40-41 ESV — The time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of 430 years, on that very day, all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

Point #1
Transitions are necessary but not all transitions are convenient.

Question:
What do you do when the pain you escaped closes in its pursuit to en slave you again?

Exodus 14:11-15
Point #2 Transitions are opportunities for a better future but can become a curse when dictated by the complaints that stem from your past.

*You will always be a slave to your history when your purpose lies in the hands of an unreconciled reality.

Exodus 14:31
Point #3 Transitions are tools used for Evolution

It is truly a honor to serve when you know that service is a gift that God has given us to glorify Him and uplift one another.

8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Pastor DeMarcus shares with us some major keys to unlock having a proper heart posture so that we can keep in mind and in our heart that is is truly an honor to serve.

🔑Serve with love 🔑Serve with humility and hospitality 🔑We all have been given the gift of Service 🔑The life or death of service lays in the power of the tongue

Pastor DeMarcus L. Johnson shares a powerful word to conclude our latest sermon series The Flexible Disiciple.

We believe that God is equipping you for flexibility. There is more in you. Keep stretching.

Key Scripture

6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

Key Points

  1. Give God the
Green Light!

  2. Proper perspective perpetuates sufficient faith.

  3. This life we live is not ours.

Our hope is that this word helps to equip you with what you need to be who God has called you to be.

Key Scripture Gen. 12:1-4

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.

2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Point #1 Bending seasons are often contingent upon your exodus from places of familiarization

Point #2 The untethering from the familiar may be the catalyst that leads you to the unexpected promises of God.

Point #3 The promises of God are found at the end of the stream just around the riverbend.

We believe that God is equipping you for flexibility. There is more in you. Keep stretching.

Psalms 23:1-6 (ESV) is the key scripture and we have an opportunity to look at it in a new way while we are learning about how to be Flexible Disciples.

Flexibility varies between individuals, particularly in terms of differences in the muscle length of multi-joint muscles.

However, flexibility in some joints can be increased to a certain degree by regular exercise.

Observation #1 Elasticity is when you can cause your faith to expand to match God's ability in your life.

Point #1 Ps. 23:1 Elasticity shifts the narrative to what you don't have to who you do have.

Point #2 Ps. 23:2 Elasticity graces you to find peace in the provision of the great shepherd.

Point #3 Ps. 23:3 Elasticity creates an opportunity for you to recover from the exhaustion of life.

Point #4 Ps. 23:4 Elasticity creates a capacity for you to persevere with confidence through valleys of uncertainty despite the threat of death.

In order to be able to adjust in life you often need to consider that you must be willing to be flexible to function in seasons that require your adaptation.

Your bending will not break you, your bending is only meant to re-shape you.

Key Scripture: Mark 1:16-18(ESV)

16 Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”[a] 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him.

Not only is there a natural ability to adapt to the changing seasons but there is also the gift of flexibility the Lord has graced you with to help you to bend without breaking.

Point #1 Vs. 16 Flexibility requires your willingness to untether yourself from your current state of spiritual immobility.

Point #2 Flexibility includes an element of formation and evolution.

Point #3 Flexibility includes an element of commonality.

Our hope is that this word helps you to become the flexible disciple God has called you to be.

Proverbs 18:24

A man of many companions may come to ruin but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

Scripture reading by Bro. Myles Lyon

Minister De-Montae Rabb talks about the power of lasting love.

Relationships & Intersections

  1. Comrade where context meets convenience (School friends, social media followers, team mates. These relationship don’t go any further than what is mutually convenient for both parties)

  2. Brother/Family or Blood where entitlement meets commonality (Some comrade make it to this point and they become like family. These people feel entitled to you based on their title in your life and often have a hard time accepting or seeing past who they knew you to be when God begins to change you & work through you.)

Things to keep in mind: Friendship is where love meets unity. Perversion lies in wait to distort your friendships. Good friends share their parents with us.

If you find yourself in that space this message is for you

Key Scripture: John 20:11-18 NASB

Truly consider why you are feeling or reacting the way you are. Begin to lift it up to The Lord.

  1. Who are you seeking?

Exactly who or what are you looking for? And why?

  1. Stop clinging.

At a certain point we have to let go of what was and look to God for the strength to navigate in what is.

Pastor Michael breaks it down as we learn what is possible After The Resurrection

Key Scripture (NKJV) Luke 24:13-16, 28-35

Point #1 Don't travel your road to Emmaus by yourself.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO WALK THAT ROAD BY YOURSELF!

Point #2 Be mindful and careful of allowing your short sighted vision of the unknown Jesus cause you to miss the revelation of the known Jesus.

Point #3 For while the trauma from life can cause you to lose your sight, an encounter with Jesus can cause you to regain your vision.

The Burden of Construction and Warfare 🔑 Key Scripture 4:10-14 (ESV)

Principle #1 🔐 The burden for Construction requires builders clear on what they're building, how to build and why they need to build or rebuild. Nehemiah 2:18

Principle #2 🔐 Warfare will not let up just because your engaged in construction. Nehemiah 4:1

Principle #3 🔐In a season of Construction and Warfare: 1. Dont Be afraid, 2. Remember the Lord and 3. Find who is worth fighting for. Nehemiah 4:14

A few observations

We need to reconcile with the truth that shifting should not dictate the level of commitment you and I make to work the plan God has set for us to engage in.

God has equipped the church and commissioned the church for a great work which should also require great sacrifice.

Warfare is the assessment that determines your commitment to finish what you started building towards.

When your sight is infected your ability to sense what is coming is drastically impacted.

Let that sink in.

So we as believers must not be limited by what we see.

Pastor Michael Johnson challenges us while inviting us to restored foresight.

Here are a few key points 🔑Restored foresight hinges on you embracing the news about your next while living in the now. 🔑Restored foresight can not be determined by your timeline. It should hinge on your persevering faith and God's unquestionable ability to do the impossible. 🔑Restored foresight comes at the expense of you affirming the name of your next which comes from the call given in your now.

Key scripture Luke 1:57-67

What happens when you are in the same place but a different position?

Pastor Janice walks us through the difference.

The 5 wise were prepared. The foolish were just there.

The key is to get prepared and stay prepared.

This is the time to 1. Study God’s Word like never before 2. To pray 3. To love

In all that we say and do we should keep in our minds that Christ is coming back. Our goal is to be ready.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins Matthew 25

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ 7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’ 9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ 10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. 11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ 12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ 13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Pastor DeMarcus leads us in week one of the series Restored Vision.

Key Scripture: Mark 10:46-52

The major points to keep in mind after you hear this message is

  1. Don't let your detractors destroy your faith!
  2. Keep crying out until you get the CALL!
  3. Come when called and be intentional with your requests! 4.Choose wisely which way you go!

Dive deeper into the word and really take time to read the key scripture. May God restore your sight in any and every place where it is not where is should be.

Mark 10:46-52

46 And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” 50 And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

This is a time that we all need strategy.

Strategy is a plan, method or a series of maneuvers you adopt and consider for obtaining a specific goal or result.

Pastor Michael breaks down the importance of having strategy while being versatile as believers who are called to build and rebuild.

Principle #1 Building for a new future does not come without distress from the past. The process towards construction will agitate those committed to the Old Norms. Vs. 10

DON’T BE AFRAID OF THEIR FACES DON’T BE AFRAID OF THEIR REACTION For what God started in you He's going to finish!

Principle #2 Building on the New Norm may require you being temporarily acquainted and revisiting the impact of past trauma. Vs. 12-16

We still have a life to live, a God to serve, and a world to bring change to!

Principle #3 The Season of Building on a New Normal requires you being multifunctional. It is an era of Construction and Warfare. Vs. 4:13,14

Key scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NJK

Grace

God is working in us and through us so that we can be disciplined in our love toward Him, one another,

Our faith response to Gods triumphant grace has two effects

-psychological and prophetic

The psychological effect is found in verse 7-8

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

The prophetic effect is found in verse 9-10

9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

The prophetic effect of Gods triumph grace transforms hopelessness into hope through an authentic demonstration of Gods power.

Remember that setbacks are divine setups and weakness are opportunities for God to demonstrate His sovereign power.

The Survivor Series starts off with the invitation of true repentance. Sorry, apologies, and remorse are one thing but true repentance causes a shift in action.

Elder B breaks down his revelation of true repentance

WHAT DOES TRUE REPENTANCE LOOK LIKE?

True repentance can and will be painful and cause hurt - because you are letting go of familiar and comfortable behaviors.

1.Godly sorrow produces repentance without regret - meaning there isn't a looking back at my old behaviors and desiring them again. It a permanent ongoing progressive change of behavior and turning towards God.

  1. True repentance is looking back and knowing that godly sorrow has produced a change in you.

  2. True repentance causes you to become indignant towards sin. You have an attitude towards your flesh.

  3. True repentance causes you to become indignant towards sin. You have an attitude towards your flesh.

  4. True repentance produces a fear of offending God

  5. True Repentance produces a passion to do what is right in the sight of God

  6. True Repentance produces a passion to do what is right in the sight of God

Minister De-Montae Rabb leads us in the last installment of New Norms titled Navigating A Fallen Generation.

The Key Scripture is Acts 20:9-10

Here are a few ways to tap into reaching those who may have fallen.

  1. Remember the Sabbath

When we take time to rest and honor God we are able to experience things that are day to day schedule do not make room for. If you have not establish a Sabbath and as led by Holy Spirit invite others in so that you can really do life with them.

  1. Take time to understand

No judgement. Not looking down. But listening, observing, and showing that you care before you insert any commentary.

  1. Take Action

And that action should be taken with the love of God at the root. Embrace that person who has fallen. Show them that they can get up again and you will be right there with them.

Our hope is that this word has encouraged you. If you are fallen you can get it up, it's not too late. And you have a community of people here at Heavenly Vision Church who would love the opportunity to embrace you.

What happens when you simply choose to obey?

Minister Ronald helps us to navigate the new norms in this installment of New Norms called The Path to Obedience.

Key Scripture: Acts 10

When we choose to simply obey we have the opportunity to live simply. Although we may have ideas and thoughts for our lives and how we ought to live nothing should or can compete with what God has spoken to us and confirms in His Word.

Pastor DeMarcus presents some keys to honoring your relationship with this third installment in The Honor Code.

  1. Be honest. Don't deceive. Don't lie. (Verse25)
  2. Be a peace maker. Do not sin. (Verse 26-27)
  3. Be selfless not selfish. (verse 28)

Key Scripture Ephesians 4:25 - 32 ESV

25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. 28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Week 3 of Atomic Faith challenges us to squad up!

🔑 Scripture: Mark 2:1-5 (ESV)

And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. 2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. 3 And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. 4 And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. 5 And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

After reading that scripture who stands out to you. Each person is significant but who is highlighted in this message are the squad. Who you surround yourself with can lead to freedom or demise.

“… remaining part of a group after achieving a goal is crucial to maintaining your habits. It’s friendship and community that embed a new identity and help behaviors last over the long run.” ― James Clear, Atomic Habits:

Here are some powerful takeaways from #SquadGoals in Atomic Faith

While you may have great faith as an individual, there are levels of deliverance and destiny you will never receive until you incorporate your faith with others.

In your squad you want to have people who are

🔑Information sources Someone had to receive the report of Jesus’ whereabouts. We need people in our lives that are informed beyond their own bias, that we may be instructed in what direction to go and which decisions to make.

🔑Burden bearers Because the individual in the text was paralyzed, he could not get to Jesus i.e. the place of healing and wholeness without the assistance of others. To get to the place of wholeness we must have loved ones in place that are willing to hold us.

🔑 Capacity builders The removal of the roof was an act of capacity building. It is imperative that our circle includes individuals that can see opportunities amid limitations.

🔑Creative thinkers You got to have someone that just sees things different. They think beyond what is and see what can be.

The healing that Jesus produced in this text was a derivative up their incorporated faith.

Some of us have been paralyzed by our sin, but this text is proof that you can be healed by your company.

You definitely want to have all of the above in your squad but you also want to be the individual that can be that to someone else.

The ultimate goal it so help somebody get to Jesus!

Week 2: A Changed Mind

🔑Key Scripture Matthew 21:28-32 The Parable of the Two Sons

28 “What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ 29 And he answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind and went. 30 And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe him.

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.” ― James Clear, Atomic Habits

🔑God is more interested in our construction than HE is our confession.

Go means progress; it means that they left their gross and obvious sins for the sake of the kingdom. They entered the kingdom before you, which refers to the representatives of the high priests and elders of the people (v. 23). The conventionally religious who cause no scandal and go through the outward motions of religious observances can fail to respond to the demand for wholehearted repentance and complete dedication to the service of God that Jesus demanded.

🔑Some of us lack true conviction because we’ve never truly be convicted.

What made the tax collectors and prostitutes more receptive to the gospel than the Sanhedrists?

🔑Accurate self identity is a prerequisite to true faith.

🔑When the true gospel is preached it becomes a mirror for the hearer to see themselves honestly and a magnifying glass for them to see Jesus clearly.

Atomic Faith is a new series preached to us by Bishop James Ray Taylor.

Inspired by Atomic Habits, a book authored by James Clear, this first installment of Atomic Faith pushes the believer to upgrade their faith.

Matthew 17:19-20

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

In this message we learn that it is not about the size of the mustard seed but the attributes of it. Grab some thing to write with and prepare to upgrade your faith.

Nothing will be impossible for you.

It is time to rebuild!

Minister Rabb walks us through the scripture and shows us the power of unity and rebuilding.

Here are a few key points from the message.

  1. When the disciples gathered around.

We need to gather around people that are beaten down. Not just to record it and post it but to make a difference. Don't just be in the crowd, be a part of the circle.

  1. He rose up

Resurrection power is in our circle. God has too much in you for you to give up now. Rise up!

  1. Rebuild/Strengthen

After all that Paul and the disciples went through he kept preaching. They return to the city where Paul had been stoned to share God's Word.

It ay not look like you may want it but you have the power to rebuild and continue even through what feels like death. Keep going! Rebuild!

  3. Revival doesn’t just touch the one but everyone in the room

  4. Revival takes place through our faith.

  5. After revival we must spiritually eat, so we can assure restoration

Simply put Sabbath is the day of rest after six days of work.

Sabbath a gift. There is nothing that we have done to earn rest, it was created and given to us. God gives humanity. God’s image, our identity, instructions and an introduction to our first gift - rest.

God did all the work and showed us our reflection (His image and our identity (1:27)), informed humanity of responsibility - be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue it, rule (1:28) and God speaks of the resources that the land is to humanity (1:30) Then God examples before us how to live from what God has given & gifted.

Jesus, who is God, reminds us that Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27) and furthermore that He is Lord of the Sabbath (Matt. 12:8; Mark 2:28) and if Lord then leader/authority.

Jesus answered questions about the Sabbath as He observed the Sabbath in the midst his working, shaping disciples, healing the sick, raising the dead and bring salvation to us all. With all of the eternal good that God the Son did, He like the Father still rested. And Jesus invites us into that rest.

In Matthew 11:28 Jesus says “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Sabbath is not a call to be lazy but just the opposite. Sabbath is a call to live in the rhythms of life with God.

Tuesday Night Live!

Our senior leaders, Bishop James Taylor and Pastor Karen Taylor share with us the power of rest.

Remember the sabbath and keep it holy.

“Are you tired?

Matthew 11:28-30

In this live we learn the secret that is not so secret because God has shared it with us in scripture.

Selah Pause and reflect on the day to hear what God has to say.

Sabbath Rest from your labor and communion with the Lord.

Sabbatical Come away from the work to recalibrate, refresh and refuel.

This week we encourage you to begin to Selah. Do your best to take time to Selah.

Here are a few thing to ponder -Will Your life be an obstacle to the destiny of your children? -How will you live a life that supports what the next generation is called to do. -What idols will our children have to cut down that we raised up? -How Can I more intentionally sharpen my children?

We have to be Curse Breakers for our families and it can start with you.

13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And he laid his hands on them and went away.

We help the kingdom of heaven come to earth.

Each one of us have the opportunity to carry Jesus wherever we go.

Three things to keep in mind

Gods plan: Wait in obedience, to receive the promise ( Don’t leave Jerusalem).

Gods purpose : That the church be empowered, (one accord and one mind )

Power: Released to us through Holy Spirit ( Evidence of Speaking in tongues)

Pastor Karen leads us during Mother's Day 2020 as we celebrate and lament.

The journey of motherhood looks different for each mother. Many celebrate with our children while others grieve.

Wherever you find yourself emotionally we are there with you. May God continue to give each of us strength to continue on the path He has called us to.

During this time Pastor Karen highlights the spiritual discipline that is justice.

Justice seeks to help others through correcting and redressing wrongs. It treats others fairly and shows no favoritism. James 1:27

John 21;20-22 20 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?” 21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” 22 Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”

Peter like many of us had misdirected concern. Instead of taking time to consider or even process the implications of what Jesus had just given him, he turns his attention seemingly preferential treatment that John was receiving from Jesus.

As a people we can get so wrapped up in what’s going on around us that we don't give proper attention to what's going on inside of us.

Jesus was challenging peters preoccupation with things that did not directly involve him and would take his attention away from his God-given priorities.

Lean into the challenge of God to remain focused on the the things that he has placed to our charge regardless of what's going on around us.

Follow Jesus!

Prophetic activation is the animation and empowerment of the believer through the endowment of the Holy Spirit; for the purpose of hearing, seeing and declaring the Word, work and will of God to his people that they may be encouraged and edified.

Numbers 11:29 But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the LORD’s people were prophets, that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!”

Joel 2:28 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

The prophetic office - those who have been appointed by God to operate as the official Harold and Deputy of God to the nations - Jeremiah 1:10 See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”

The gift of prophecy - Those with this gift are sensitive to both the prompting of the Holy Spirit and the needs of the church body. to “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.”

The spirit of prophecy - the Spirit of God the rest among his people to affirm the finished work of Jesus Christ and establish his kingdom on earth. Rev. 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

You do not need to be a prophet to prophesied, you only need the endowment of the Holy Spirit!

BE ACTIVATED

Prophetic Activation #1 - Speak what is written / begin to quote scriptures that you know by heart and declare them with emphasis and passion.

Prophetic Activation #2 - Speak what you hear the Spirit saying / begin to declare sentiments that you have heard from the spirit of God be at through your time of prayer times of preaching or teaching or even through spiritual impartation.

Prophetic Activation #3 - Speak what you see / look at your immediate surroundings if there is anything beautiful or excellent affirm it with your words and if there is anything that is out of order speak order to it in the name of Jesus.

BIRTHING A PROPHETIC PEOPLE: Prophetic Shelter 1 Kings 19:9-10

The prophet Eiijah is sheltered in for safety trying to escape Jezebel, an evil Queen, who vowed to kill him. He finds himself stuck in a cave. God asks him “Elijah, why are you here?” Ask yourself, “Why are you where you are?”

Are you are in a place of Fear, Fatigue, or Frustration? No matter where you are, there is hope for you! Do not be weary in well doing.

The cave may have protected Elijah from danger, but it did not separate him from his fears. You can run away from danger, but you can’t run away from fear. You have to deal with the fear that’s within you.

In order to eradicate Elijah’s fear, God had to engage in some faith exercises. Do not forget the power of God that’s within you. In order for your fear to be dealt with, you have to combat it with faith.

After the Lord builds Elijah’s faith, Elijah grabs his mantel which represents his ministry & legacy. After Elijah grabs his mantel, God begins to speak to him concerning his ministry. Where is your mantel? Where is the assignment that God has called you to?

What was Elijah told to do? God told Elijah to anoint 3 particular people: 1. Elisha - This anointing represents those who will come after you. Know that God has put something on you to anoint those who come after you. Pray for your children & those you mentor. God was going to give Elisha a double portion of his anointing. Those who come after you will be twice as successful as you are. 2. Jehu - He’s going to be the next King of Israel. Jehu goes on a war path and destroy every ungodly thing. Word got back to Jezebel. Jehu had the anointing to kill what tried to kill Elijah. The next generation has an anointing to push past everything that tried to destroy you. 3. Hazael - He is a soldier that is against Israel. Even your enemies are under the control of your God.

Everything that God was going to do through Elijah for his life was built in the cave! Your home is a Prophetic Shelter!

God does things to grab you and get your attention....like, give you sweet water. The Israelites needed sweet water to drink because their maturity did not develop. They received what God prescribed as their wilderness diet for their maturity. Yet, they asked for meat. But it was not time yet. God was trying to draw the people to gain an ear to hear on their own.

God doesn’t give you what you want, the way you want it. He gives you what you need in divine timing.

Are you going to feel entitled or in awe of Gods work? In order to keep your prophetic maturing, you must remain in the sense of awe.

God made sure the Israelites body could handle what He gave them to grow. God prophesied through the food! God has a way of grafting your life to what you consume to match the maturity of your life.

Hearing the voice of God sometimes comes in afflictions. But hearing is the birthing of a prophetic generation. In order for a weight of glory to be produced, you must deal with some things. Anytime the Lord begins to birth something new in you, there will be afflictions.

Once God starts birthing something new in you, your spiritual senses will be heightened. - Some situations & things will make you sick. - Your appetite will change. - Your hunger will increase. - You will start picking up the weight of affliction. - Your emotions will change. The weight of Glory is sometimes presented in the midst of trials and brief afflictions. This is God turning our situations around and reminding us of His promises. Instead of feeling the weight of the world, we feel the weight of the Glory of God. The weight of the groan is you obeying the word of God. It’s about how you respond to affliction. Remember, the afflictions are only for a moment. Carry your weight...find your groan.

Week 3: In today’s text of focus we see a Hebrew teenager who is a slave, along with his companions, facing a culture shock of massive proportions. Much like Joseph, Daniel did not chose his environment. However, the power of choice was not totally stripped from him. He has the choice of ‘how I am, where I am’.

  1. We may not always have control over our environments, but it is our responsibility to take control of our disposition.

  2. The greatest offering you could ever give God is yourself. Give God you. Become an offering for the Lord.

  3. Mind what you allow to get into your soul. Do not allow yourself to become a defiled offering. Challenge what you put in your spirit.

  4. Gravitate to people who are supportive and accountable and allow them to be your purpose partners.

  5. Daniel & his partners allowed themselves to be tested for 10 days (v17). What Daniel thought was a discipline, was actually a protection. You may think something you’re being pulled away from is good, but it’s actually a disease. God sees every time you say no, walk away and commit to discipline. When Daniel purposes in his heart to give himself, God responds by giving him knowledge, skill, understanding, visions & dreams. Daniel’s partners also got blessings from God for standing with Daniel.

The Purpose of Our Heart Week 2 - Acts 5:1-11 This is a text that will arrest our conscious and cause us to consider the purposes of our heart. The church had unity of heart that was based on the gospel. The unity is based by their commonality.

COMMONALITY PRINCIPALITIES:

❤️ All that we have is from God and if we are in God together, then we have no need.

❤️ When we engage in conspiracy, it disqualifies us from unity.

❤️ Our present benevolence must be fortified by a previous resolve.

❤️ Accountability is our greatest offense from living in falsehood.

❤️ Confrontation affords us the opportunity to be released from our failures.

❤️ When respect and reverence enters context it creates a space for the miraculous.

Acts 4:32-37 Barnabas gives extravagantly. Folks are inspired to do the same as Barnabas. However, when the energy began to wear off they were faced with the reality of the wealth transfer. This caused them to stray from the principal of commonality and began to look at conspiracy. They went from commonality to conspiracy. Conspiracy is when you create a plan that does not include or bear in mind others.

Barnabas did not live from his wealth, he lived from the wealth of God. Don’t give or commit to God that you don’t have faith to believe Him with. What Barnabas gave was all his faith could afford. Before you give, make sure you have enough faith to fortify your step. You need to have accountability. That’s the only way to have offense against falsehood.

Our hearts play a needing role in scenarios and situations in our lives. Make no mistake, what God will say He will do...He will do. Although God will do everything He said He will do, we need to know that no matter how great or different your next season is, it will be conditioned on the present posture of your heart. Arrest your heart so you will know what God wants you to do. In order for you to see deep & abiding change in any area of your life, you must see the purpose of your heart.

What do you do when you are forced against your will into the unknown? Today we look at how Joseph handled being forced into the unknown.

Genesis 37:1-4 Divine election often looks and feels like natural alienation. Joseph had a job. He was a Shepard. He had to work harder than everyone else. He had to give a bad report of his brothers. When Joseph gives the bad report, he was hated. He simply told the truth. Sometimes you may feel alienated/alone. God put you in that place because you have been elected for something greater than where you are. The alienation is a mask of your election. God is doing something in you to stir up provocation in someone else to stir up the unknown. Joseph didn’t make up the dream. The Holy Spirit gave him the dream to share. It was the will of God for Joseph to tell the dream. This stirred up provocation in the brothers and forced Joseph to the unknown.

Genesis 37:24 This is deep, but it’s not going to kill you! They threw Joseph in the pit, but there was no water in it. They were hoping Joseph would die by drowning, but there was no water. Praise Him in the pit...there’s no water in it!

Genesis 39:11-12 Joseph got out the pit and is now doing well. Every transition into the unknown is marked by shedding. However, this is necessary to delete opportunities for sin. God will use others to get you to your next. Joseph brothers and then Potiphar’s wife shed his coat. Some things you will have to shed. If you have a problem shedding, God will send something to snatch it off of you.

Genesis 45:1-7 Famine has happened in the land of Canaan. Because of the famine, all of Joseph brothers have to come to him. The brothers were taken away at Joseph presence. The way you frame and view your story will be the difference between disaster and deliverance. Joseph could have had a pity party. Instead of looking at it as a disaster, it became a deliverance for Joseph and the people around him.

You have no excuse to not be excellent.

Before he became a father of many nations, he was a man who heard from God and came into the unknown.

Genesis 12:1-3 You’re thinking too small if you’re just asking God to bless you. You’ve been created with the capacity to be a blessing.

Genesis 12:4-9 Abram hears the Lord and then he acts. Don’t get angry at God's instructions. Find it in your heart to receive the instruction. The other side is blessing.

Genesis 12:10-20 Sometimes we need to ask ourselves why are relationships the way they are now. What’s the context of the relationship? The unknown is marked by challenges. However, we must not allow the challenges to cause us to redefine ourselves for the sake of safety. Are you downgrading yourself / relationships because you feel someone else can’t handle it?

Genesis 13:1-4 Abram had every resource available to him, but he moved in fear. What would have happened if he operated outside of fear? What would happen in your story if you moved outside of fear? As we progress to the unknown we must keep ourselves in the place where the anointing of God flows freely. When we do that we will see true prosperity and true growth. Seek the anointing of God.

Pray: “Lord, show me the anointing”.

Week 1: Noah Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. He was a just and perfect man. Because of this distinction, Noah was chosen to go into the unknown.

Key Scripture: Deuteronomy 33:1-5

Moses has come to grips with the fact that he is not going to transition with Israel into the promise land. He manages his emotions well enough to rise up and give a blessing to the people.

Considering the expanse of life we must all turn our thoughts toward the contributions we make to society. If you want your contribution to be... • endowing, you will give what you earned • enlightening, you will give what you have learned • empowering, you will give who you have become

One key part of transition is contribution. “It is more blessed to give than receive”. This will lighten your journey for the road ahead.

Bishop James Ray Taylor shares with us the courage we should have as we transition.

Key Scripture Deuteronomy 31

  1. COURAGE TO CONTINUE (v 1-6) Beyond your trauma, God is still with you. If God is with you, you will have the courage to continue.

  2. COURAGE TO BE CONSISTENT (v 7-8) Guard your consistency! Some of us go through things because God wants to use you as a weapon. But, He can’t train you if you’re not consistent.

  3. COURAGE TO BE CORRECT (v 19-23) As soon as you know what’s right, you should correct. God will test your integrity. Make the choice to be correct.

TRANSITION - Choice

The tools to equip us with transition.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20

The choices you make will determine the life that you live.

  1. Each of us must make a choice, whether on the individual or institutional level.

  2. The choices we make are irrevocable, however, they are transferable.

  3. The best choices are made through absorbed wisdom, rather than harbored wrath.

What's your note?

In the first installment of Back To Church Bishop James Ray Taylor shares with us the power of fragrance.

There are top notes, middle notes, and base notes. Each serve a different purpose to make a fragrance. Without the combination of the three levels of notes, a fragrance just wouldn't be aromatically appealing. But together, they create beautiful scents. This parallels to The Church.

We are the notes, the fragrance the aromatics the Holy Spirit is the bonding agent but ultimately Christ is the one to be complemented!

This week he deals with the vine and the key scripture is John 15:1-8. Get ready to examine self. Are you bearing any fruit?Take a moment to really, genuinely answer that question.

Additional scriptures to study are Isaiah 5:1-7 and Revelation 14:18-19. If this word has impacted you please share it with someone. If you want to share how this word has blessed you email amen@hvcla.com.

Read and ponder the scripture Matthew 13:3-23. Then ask yourself what kind of soil are you? Are you good soil. We know the seed is good because the seed is the word of God. What makes the difference is the soil.

Are you good soil?Where are you? Are you fruitful? Are you the man or woman God has called you to be? If you're not, it's not too late. Cry out to God. Ask Him to reveal to you where you are and how you can become the soil that will bring forth what God is created you for.

If this word has impacted you please share with us. We love hearing and seeing how the message of Christ is transforming lives. Email amen@hvcla.com. Have a blessed week.

If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

Religion is a beautiful thing when it is pure.
