Unite . Renew . Restore || 3rd Street Community Church located in Canton, OH was established with this vision: Families and neighborhoods gathered together, united by Christ, dedicated to family renewal, all for a Christ-centered restored city. Though we are people from all different backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life, on Sunday mornings we worship UNITED as one people who have been reconciled to God. Come worship with us on Sundays at 11am or get connected with all of our events throughout the week at 3rdstreetchurch.com
Jesus' presence changes the atmosphere and even darkness recognizes it and flees. This week, we look at the story of the man with leprosy in Mark 1. This man who had to publicly proclaim he was unclean, walked up to Jesus to be healed. Jesus then used His holiness purposefully to heal the man. Similarly in our own lives, Jesus can take what is unclean and make it holy. Our past doesn't have to determine our future and that is good news!
series, we're looking at the attributes of God that He shares with us and calls us to emulate. This week, Pastor KT talks about God's faithfulness. God never misses His target when demonstrating faithfulness.
“God is…Eternal. Co-worship leader, Ryan Cartwright, dives into John 11 and the death of Lazarus. We tend to put God on a timetable of when we want to see Him perform miracles and move in our own life and those that we love, however, He is eternal. He exists in the beginning, in the present, and in the future.”
God is…Immutable. Our God is accountable to the things He has said. He will always see it through!
n week 4 of “God Is…” Pastor KT walks us through the story of Joseph and illustrates how in every plan for evil, God uses that very plan for our good and His purpose. We get to now process, in light of God’s sovereignty; How should we be looking at trials and tribulations in our own lives? What does He see, when our view is limited?
In this scripture, we see how God restores our hope, restores our identity, and casts a future mission.
“Reading the familiar story of Moses parting the Red Sea to help free the Israelites — we are reminded of God’s omnipotence. God’s power can and will accomplish what God promised.”
Jada takes us through James 4:1-12, as we ask ourselves how God would have us respond to His spirit’s conviction. The questions “What sits on the throne of your heart?”, “Is humility your posture?”, and “Have you forgotten the call?”, are posed, and we are challenged to apply them to our life today.
In James 3:13–18, we discover that wisdom is more than what we know — it’s revealed in the atmosphere our lives create. This message challenges us to examine the source of our wisdom and invites us to become people who cultivate peace, humility, and righteousness everywhere we go.
Our words are far more powerful than we realize. In this message James 3:1–12, we explore how the tongue can steer lives, reveal what’s really happening in our hearts, and expose the authenticity of our worship. This isn’t just a sermon about “watching your mouth” — it’s about allowing the Holy Spirit to transform the heart behind our words.
Faith that never shows up in your life isn’t real faith. In this message from James 2:14–26, we confront the difference between belief and surrender—and discover that real encounters with Jesus always lead to action.
This message challenged us to ask one honest question: what is sitting in the King’s chair of our hearts? Through James 1:27 through 2:13, we saw that favoritism is not just about people, it is about priorities. We often give the best seat to status, comfort, money, approval, relationships, or routines while pushing Jesus and people in need to the side. But when Christ takes His rightful place, mercy begins to flow, love becomes real, and pure religion looks like caring for the overlooked, the hurting, and the forgotten. The reservation sign already belongs to Jesus, and wherever He sits, everything else finds its proper seat.
Part of our Closed on Sundays series, today’s message In One Ear and Out the Other challenged us to move beyond just hearing God’s Word and actually make room for it to take root in our lives. We confronted the danger of self-deception, how we can hear truth, agree with it, and still choose not to live it out, remembering that if you’re not being shaped by the Word, then you will be shaped by the world. Real faith, as seen in James 1:27, shows up in how we live, love, and care for others, refusing to let what we heard on Sunday leave us unchanged on Monday.
In week 1 we walk through James 1:1-18 and confront a hard truth: real faith isn’t proven when life is easy - it’s revealed under pressure.
We the people are screaming crucify Him! Jada Yoder closed out our sermon series with a convicting message — one where we must reflect and see where in our life we have chosen Barabbas in the face of Jesus.
We the people are screaming crucify Him! Jada Yoder closed out our sermon series with a convicting message — one where we must reflect and see where in our life we have chosen Barabbas in the face of Jesus.
In week 2 of We the People, Pastor KT talks about how Judas didn't just betray Jesus, but entered into a weighted covenant, where the value of Christ was measured our coin by coin and a price was set on Him. It challenges us to see that we often do the same thing not with silver, but with our choices, weighing Jesus against comfort, control, relationships, and approval until something else becomes more valuable.
Possessions: do you have a Money problem or a Master problem? Pastor Corey reads the Parable of the Rich Fool and points out that we aren’t meant to be reservoirs with our money. We’re meant to be rivers — ever flowing and connected to the main source, our Heavenly Father.
Stewarding our Direction: The Lord sets our path, but we choose how we steward our heart posture and mindset when we get there.
Stewarding our Gifts: It’s important to know our spiritual gifting, but it’s even more important to know how to steward your gifting well. This week, Rachel Hunka focused on the Parable of the Talents, where we see how the master gave more to the servants who were faithful with the little they had. Similarly, the Father will give us more when we show good stewardship over what He has already given to us. We are all getting to the finish line, will you be proud of yourself when you get there?
Stewarding our Soul: What is a soul? And how valuable is it? Pastor Corey teaches on the importance of investing in our soul and how we can treasure it, guard it, and above all else, surrender it to Jesus who is the ultimate protector.
In this series we’ll rediscover what it truly means to live as people who have been trusted by God. Beginning with the proper theology of stewardship, we’ll explore how God calls us to faithfully manage every area of life, showing us that stewardship is not about managing things, but about becoming faithful people.
