Expanding on the Seed Principle by Jay Meyer August 15, 2015 Primary principle message: Draw near to the Lord Now Gal 6. 7-10 : Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction;whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Sewing and reaping. Sewing to the flesh ends up in corruption. Mark 4:26-29 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head.29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” Spiritual progress is slow, so we need to have a daily pursuit of... Cultivating right actions to draw near to Him, so the seed of God will grow in us. What is our life vision? To be comfortable &secure or to actively pursue the Lord our God . We need a Spiritual vision. Prob 29;18 - Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction. If we don't have one we aren't going anywhere spiritualy. In the book of Revelation, the Laodicean church was a luke warm church, neither hot nor cold - they thought they had no problem with the Lord. Eph 5:14-21 - This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine,which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Here is a prescription for being awaken. Be wise as to how we live. What kind of seeds are we sewing on our lives. The things we do, the things we see. Are they good things or bad things that we sew into our lives. We must have a schedule spending time with the Lord, or else small things will rob of us of the time we spend with the Lord. Our Spiritual growth happens over time , and only over time will we look back and see our growth. Eph 5:16 ...because the days are evil ! John 5: 19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. The forces of evil will rob our time. The natural tendency is to fall behind. Have that clear vision and pursue God and we will bear fruit. Ephesians 5:18 - Do not get drunk on wine,which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, Do not get influenced by wine or the world but be influenced by the Holy Spirit. Do not quench the Holy Spirit. Seek to be filled and maintained with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:19 - speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, We are convincing ourselves we're talking to a real person through practice..speaking to ourselves and others, builds a divine connection. The more we do it (say I love you Lord),the easier it will become. Ephesians 5, Verse 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 19 was an invitation to dialog w the Lord. Verse 20 The Lord would have us go to him instead of complaining...take the things that we can complain about, or criticize, ask Jesus for the change, then u can be thankful because u left it w the Lord. And continuing on the thing that isn't the way we want it. Verse 21. The authority structure of Gov, church, home, Job, the Lord says to bring it to him. Thessalonians says come to me (Him) with the problem. Do everything as if it onto me... And you ll be able to maintain your relationship with the Lord.

Unity with God and Commitment by Randy Oestman June 20, 2015
Introduction: Two weeks ago there was no podcast. We had moved from out old location on 4th street to our new location at Sunny Side Baptist about a mile or two North. We have services on Saturday evenings and Sunnyside has their services on Sunday mornings in the same space. We have our stuff hidden in a way we can unfold and have a wonderful time with God. Then when we're done we fold back out of the way, so they can do have their time with God on Sundays. It's an interesting Concert of events. Two weeks ago Jay Meyer talked about how God is using us to bless another fellowship through us and what was involved with that. He reassured us about how this move is all about what God wants for us. The body of Christ is about the people and what God is doing through those people.. It's not about a building or the location. Last week we did a combined service with Sunny Side Baptist church. Both worship teams were on the stage playing songs together, three from our group and three songs from their group. We worked together in unity. Both pastors spoke (Pastor Max Janzen from Sunnyside) and our Pastor Jay Meyer(Cheyenne Vineyard) talked about unity among the people of Christ. It was as entertaining as it was instructive. It was a very good message from both pastors. Unfortunately we didn't record the audio. This week Randy Oestman (our Associate Pastor) talks about the Unity with God and the commitment. So, enjoy today's podcast and may God bless your week.

Spiritual Warfare Part 4 by Jay Meyer January 25, 2015 Genesis 1:28 Notes: To understand our role in spiritual warfare it is instructive to look at the first instruction God gave to Adam and Eve before the fall. Was God revealing to us His primary purpose for mankind on the earth? What else would it mean? What was the earth like at the time of the fall of Adam and Eve? Was it all a beautiful garden or was it a place that needed tending, that needed cultivating, needed man to overcome in partnership with God? Gen 1:28 And God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Be fruitful - 6509. parah, paw-raw'; a prim. root; to bear fruit (lit. or fig.):- -bear, bring forth (fruit), to flourish (be, cause to be, make) fruitful, grow, increase. This will involve bringing creativity into the rest of the earth through work and ideas springing forth out of lives lived in the presence of the God of creation into a world of unrealized potential. Multiply - 7235. rabah, raw-baw'; a prim. root; to increase (in whatever respect):--[bring in] abundance (X -antly), a verb meaning to be many or become many; to be abundant. It means to become numerous or great and expresses God’s original mandate for humans to multiply on the earth. It means basically to overcome or subdue someone. It is used here to describe God’s mandate to humans to subdue the created order. It is also used of Israel taking the promised land. It is also used of the Lord’s subduing, removing, crushing the iniquities of His people. It is also used of the Lord’s people overcoming their enemies with His help. Zechariah 9: 14 Then the LORD... Rule over - 7287. radah, raw-daw'; a prim. root; to tread down, i.e. subjugate; spec. to have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, make to) rule, (-r, over), take. It is related to the exercise of authority by the priesthood. Theologically significant is the use of this word to identify humanity’s God-ordained relationship to the created world around them. What God told Adam it would be like after the fall Genesis 3:17 -19 Then to Adam He said, "Because... Gen 9 6-7 Luke 4:5-7 And he led Him up... Matthew 16:18 - 19 And I tell you ... Luke 10 Followers will tread on all the powers of darkness Luke 10:17 - 20 The seventy-two...Romans 8:18-23 So what exactly is our role as the people of God since Jesus has defeated the enemy and taken the keys back from him? In living our lives as the people of God’s presence we are to do what God told Adam and Eve in Gen 1:28. We are to take the ground that is not yet overcome or subdued and bring God’s dominion – His triumphant Kingdom. I think at times I have been intimidated by some of the challenges I see for the Kingdom of God on the earth. I need a bigger view of God. He has solutions to all of the problems that we encounter in our spheres of influence. We are to bring God and His Kingdom, His insight, His wisdom, His ways and His blessing into every inch of our spheres of living. Self, family, work, marketplace, recreation, the 7 mountains of culture – Religion Family Education Government Media Arts & Entertainment Business If we have a testimony of God’s work in our own life, then we must believe that He can do it in another life, and in your family, If God can do it in your family, He can do it in your City, If He can do it in a City, He can do it in a Nation It is all about God getting what He wants in our world. What He called Adam and Eve into was a partnership, an administration, not for them to just go out and figure it out on their own and do what they wanted. No, what God has in mind and what is possible for Him is way beyond what our own thinking and doing are capable of … It starts with being the people of His presence. Getting His heart, wanting what He wants. Moving in dependence on Him only. He can bless whatever is done unto Him. Rev. 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Spiritual Warfare Part 1 by Jay Meyer January 4, 2015 What we know about the enemy
We are born into an ongoing war. The stakes are high for us human beings. The war is over our eternal destiny. What do we know about our enemy? 1. The devil was once known as the “star of the morning” from the Latin translation of Lucifer. But, he has been brought down to the depths of the pit. He has been cast down to earth. Isaiah 14:12 "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! 13 "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' 15 "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. 2. Through rebellion, Lucifer fell from heaven with 1/3 of the angels. Every moral creature in creation must at one time make a final decision whether to give allegiance to God or to self. The devil chose self for eternity. Revelation 12:3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. 4 His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. 7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 3. Some of the fallen angels were cast down to hell and chained until judgment day, while others were left free to oppose God and His Kingdom. 2 Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 4. Lucifer became the adversary, which is the meaning of the name, satan. He is the enemy of both God and man but is a limited, created being (no match for God, his creator). He is filled with vindictive rage against the redeemed sons of Adam who will rule with Christ Jesus in glory. Psalm 2:1 Why are the nations in an uproar, And the peoples devising a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand, And the rulers take counsel together Against the LORD and against His Anointed: 3 "Let us tear their fetters apart, And cast away their cords from us!" 5. The devil and his fallen angels were defeated at the cross and will be condemned and judged Colossians 2:15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Matthew 25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 6. Demons are the force operating behind false religions, idolatry, magic and witchcraft. This is nothing to mess around with! Deuteronomy 32:17 They sacrificed to demons, which are not God-- gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared, gods your fathers did not fear. Psalm 96:4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 1 Corinthians 10:19 Do I mean then that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. Revelation 9:20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood--idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. 7. The devil and his demons are in a state of continual war against the Church and all believers are encouraged to combat all levels of evil spiritual force in the unseen realm.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
- The demons are permitted by God to tempt and deceive in a limited way, but they cannot override the human will. We have ultimate choice and responsibility for our actions.
1 Corinthians 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."
- The demons are allowed limited influence over natural weather patterns within Earth’s atmosphere.
Job 1:19 and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died; and I alone have escaped to tell you."
Mark 4:36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 10. The devil and demons have two main weapons against humans and the Church. They accuse and they deceive people to agree with lies.
John 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!
Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
- We have Biblical examples of people who suffered from demonic oppression such as:
Physical sickness – Luke 4:38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.
Physical and mental anguish – Mark 9:17 A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not." 19 "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me." 20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth. 21 Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. 22 "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." 23 "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." 24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." 26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up. 28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" 29 He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting." Self injury – Mark 5:1 They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones. 6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!" 8 For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"
Inability to speak – Matthew 9:32 While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. 33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel."
Violence – Matthew 8:28 When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.
- The kingdom of darkness is organized. Certain ruling demons are assigned over specific places, cities, regions, subcultures, etc. They seek to turn the people against God and to gain increasing authority through the sins and agreement of humans against God and His ways. This curtails the flow of blessings and brings forth the curses of Deuteronomy 28.
Daniel 10:12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come." Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13. Jesus demonstrated His power over demons and has passed that authority on to us, His followers, to continue to do what He did. Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Revelation 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. 14. The world systems are under the influence of the forces of darkness. We must fight to bring it out from under his influence. This is by speaking truth and exercising authority and living in obedience to God. The Lord’s model prayer 1 John 5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world lies under the influence of the evil one. 1 John 3:8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's works. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. 15. We fight from the position of Christ’s victory. The ultimate victory has been won, but we are called to fight and win the battles that remain. In a time of war, battles are won by the strategic concentration of force against the enemy. Soldiers don’t just attack along a scattered front. They follow a plan designed by a general with big maps and access to lots of information.
The rightly prioritized agenda of a true follower of Jesus should be personal repentance and holy living. Following the leading of the Holy Spirit to seek the things that our Heavenly Father wants on the earth through united prayer, revival of the Church, spiritual awakening among those who have yet to be born again, to reformation of society and international missionary work. This is the historic path of renewal. Each generation must choose it or leave the next generation is worse condition than it inherited. (John Dawson, Taking Our Cities for God)

Matthew 24 verse 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Acts 1 verse 6 Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
Hopefully we will discern the time we are in and Jesus will warn the generation at the time he is coming. Paul warned that a great falling away would occur just prior to His (Chirst) coming.

2 Corinthians 10, verse 3. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."
There are those who live the apathetic Christian life not realizing that there is a war going on. Then there are those who have a war mentality, but sometimes find themselves fighting with the wrong enemies. They're war-ing, but not understanding what they're primary war is as a Christian.
Then there are those strongholds. What are they? A stronghold is defined as fortress or a prison. A stronghold is something that keeps other out and you separated from them.
2 Corinthians 10: 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
So, Paul says, we have weapons that pull down these prisons, weapons to pull down these forts that are keeping something out and keeping us imprisoned inside.
There are many Christians, though they are saved, still live as though they are imprisoned. They live separated from God.
2 Corinthians 10: 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
The Day Of The Lord by Jay Meyer January 29, 2014
Today we'll look at the seven churches in context (in the book of Revelation), the way we find them. But first lets look at Matthew 24, looking at a conversation Jesus had with his disciples.
There was a phrase used in the Old Testament about the Day of the Lord. It was a day the Jewish people looked forward to, at least for those who were close to the Lord. For those who were not close to the Lord, or not faithful at being His people, it was given as a warning. So, the warning was what was going to happen in the day of the Lord, because there was judgement coming to those who were against the Lord.
There is a different phrase in the New Testament sort of similar called "The End of the Age". Jesus came in and ushered in the Kingdom of heaven on the earth. There is coming an end of this age where the Kingdom of Heaven is here, but only partially here. We're still waiting for the full aspects of the Kingdom of Heaven in this age. When we get to the end of this present age, then we will see the fullness of the Kingdom of Heaven. We will see a new heaven and a new earth where we will live with God for eternity. That is our great hope. That was something that was front and center to the understanding of day to day living of first century Christians. They were looking for the end of the age.
The end of the age is very near. But, I don't know how very near is. Jesus could return imminently. As I look at things, it seems there is still some fullness that still needs to come both on the good side and the evil side. And that is where we're picking up Jesus conversation in Matthew 24.

The great commandment is to love God and to love others. That is where we're going to find the Fathers mission. His desire for us is that we receive His love and give it away, thus fulfilling the great commission (preaching the gospel and bringing good news to people).
If we're operating from the lack of love, it's not a complete thing. He wants us to really be loved on so that we can give away from that love to others. That's really the Father's mission for us.
The great commandment to love God and to love others is a call to intimacy. Jesus spent time alone with the Father, then came out of that place of intimacy with the Father and did what the Father showed him to do.
So, it's really simple, we spent time with Him, get downloads of His love and then go and give it away where ever He wants us to give it away.
The great commandment to Love God and to love one another must proceed the great commission, and it is an inseparable part of it. When intimacy does not proceed fruitfulness, we easily become subject to our own mission and are subject to religious duty and hyper religious activity. This can leave an angry edge in our life and relationships. When we do it out of love, we move from being in a place of an orphan into sons.

Beyond Salvation/The Church November 24, 2013
God saves us, but not just for ourselves, but for others. We are saved for good works prepared in advance for us by God
Ephesians 4:8 says "For it is by grace you have been saved... through faith...not by works...created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
So, we're moving from a self focused ministry to an others focused ministry.
We are called to make disciples - to lead people to the Lord and teach them His ways. The church (body of Christ - Christ followers), helps us do this , by us, first becoming disciples.
1 John 2: 12 - 14 talks about the children who's sins have been forgiven on the account of his name, the fathers, who have known Him from the beginning and the young men who are strong and the word of God lives in them and have overcome the evil one.
New believers are like children knowing the basics who through practice of God's become strong like young men and through the years come to a the maturity in Christ like Fathers who have known the Father (God).
We validate callings of the church. Leaders in the church lay hands on those who are called to a certain ministry, to send them out to do those works of ministry.
There is a difference between going to church and being the church. Attending is one thing, but doing the works of God's ministry is being the church.
The church is not a building. The building is where we gather, the body of Christ (the people who follow Christ, people who are a disciple of Christ) is the church.
We have to continue to give the church back to Jesus, so He's in control.
John Wimber once said, God will do to you what He wants to do through you.
So, when we get to the place where we're young people - the stage when God is doing things to us, learn to overcome our sinful ways of living, thinking, emotions that used to control you. So, as we get older or more mature, pray mothers and fathers to help others overcome that which we've overcome.
He always gives us stuff to give away.
A review of last week: Destiny. It's not too late to fulfill your destiny. Think back to the parable of the Vineyard. Everyone received a reward regardless of when they started working that day in the Vineyard.
Also think about who does the work of the ministry. In Ephesians 4, it says that all of the saints do the work of the ministry.
The Mindset of the spirit is life and peace.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 --> If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
Those who are of the Flesh cannot please God.
Put your talent at risk to be used by God.
Acts 13: 1-3 1 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.Teachers fasted and prayed and then sent laid hands on two people to be sent out to perform works of ministry.
There is a call to build the body of Christ in faith. Hebrews 10:25 --> not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Fulfilling Your Destiny by Pastor Jay Meyer November 17, 2013
We have a role or destiny that God wants us to fulfill, but have some sort of wall or blockade that's preventing us from doing it. We may think we're too old and it's too late. Looking at the parable of the Vineyard in Matthew 20 verse 1, each worker starts at a different time and gets the same reward at the end of the day.
If you are young and hear the call for you life, and do what God has for you, you can fulfill your destiny. But if you are older or nearing the end of your years and you hear God's call, you can still fulfill your destiny.
We're given tools or gifts to help us in this journey. When we want more, and we keep using those gifts and are faithful with them, he gives us more.
A lot of people in the church think that the work of the ministry is for people like the pastor. According to Ephesians 4, God gives gifts to the church, (The church is the body of Christ or people who follow Christ) in that who are the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip all of the saints (the body of Christ) to do the work of the ministry.
The Foundation of our Salvation.
What I think we see in America is that the church is at a low point in influence in our culture right now. I think the main cause of the situation is a complete lack of understanding of what our Salvation means in the church. One thing that evangelicalism has done has brought a lot of people in to God's Kingdom and eternal life. These people have been told now that you've said this prayer you're not going to hell when you die, you're going to heaven and at some point Jesus is coming back and he's going to take all of His people in something called the rapture, so all we have to do is basically hang on until he gets us out of here. That is a very defensive mentality and a lack of understanding of what Salvation is all about.
Live life as if Jesus is the way. Two weeks ago, we talked about the Bride Made Ready in Matthew 16:23. Last week we were in Luke 12 and John 17 talking about how Jesus warned the disciples to abandon things. Life doesn't consist of or is not defined by possessions as the world would have us believe.
Many of have the mistaken view that the Bible (word of God) is our Map in life and that is not true. It is a guide of truth. Is is the infallible, inspired word of God. We need to know it, because it is the record of God's dealings with so many people over such a long period that there is Great Instruction for us. But it is not the map for you.
Who is your guide in life, Man or Jesus? John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Deception: The terrible thing about deception is that you don't know you're in a deception because you're deceived.
There are parallels between Luke 12:31 and Revelation 3:14 (concerning the church in Laodicea).
Luke 12:31 - ...seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. 32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail
Matthew 6:21 - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
We are in serious times and serious times require serious measures.
Trevail - Allow God to share his heart with us. This may hurt, but be prepared to have our hearts broken as His heart is broken.
What does your life consist of? What defines your life? Do you find that the things of your life (your job, your possessions) determine your status or well being?
Luke 12:13-21... Beware and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.
Ambrose, a fourth century theologian wrote that the things that we cannot take with us are not truly ours. Augustine wrote, that the bellies of the poor are safer storehouses than barns.
So, what do we do with the extra stuff? We should be positioning ourselves for those in need.
What makes you restless? Are you searching for more, better, higher... or ... hunger for God?
John 17:1-4 "After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal lif to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do."
So, Jesus is saying that life for us consists of knowing God.
There are higher desires, higher pleasures, higher purposes for humans. That's us.
Ecclesiastes 2:18-19 " I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Yet he will have control over all the work into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless."
The higher plan of God for us is:
Luke 12:22 ... do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. 29) And do not seek what you shall eat, and what you shall drink, and do not keep worrying.30) For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows what you need these things. 31) But seek for His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you. 32)Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. 33) Sell your possessions and give to the poor, make yourselves purses that do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near, nor moth destroys. 34) Where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. ... 39) And be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. 40) You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.
Where do we have our minds set? What is our mind set on, moment by moment, or daily? Where we set our mind, determines where we go or what we do and who we're in agreement with.
The enemy has no authority over us until we give in to those thoughts and do or think those things.
The spirit of God dwelling in us, molds us as we allow. He doesn't control us. We still have free will.
With thoughts coming to our mind from the enemy (bad) and God (good) we've got to be careful what we allow our mind to dwell on.
If we want to do or think about the things that God wants us to do or think, then that is what we need to set our mind on, to think about and do.
When we set our minds on things of this world, we find ourselves at odds with God.
So, how do we get there?
