A high goal: Lasting equilibrium and happiness are hard to find and seem to vanish easily. Pursuing those, the German producer and DJ Chris Wayfarer has embarked on an internal and external journey.
Rooted in drum ’n‘ bass and knowing every trick of the underground culture, Chris has recently set forth to the realms of deep house, tech house and electronica. He has created his own musical language, featuring at times a floating vibe, at times a punchy and energetic expression – always honest to himself and to the world, in a natural flow and with care to detail.
Whether in the studio or at the turntables, Chris Wayfarer fuses deep house and tech house with sampling from all kinds of electronic styles, jazz, funk and classical music to grow harmonious compositions. Alternating between groovy, funky, rough, melodic, deep and driving qualities: a musical logbook inviting you to listen, to dance and to be happy.

Successfully: The artist from Chemnitz can now look back on over 80 released tracks and remixes, 80,000 streams on Spotify, and more than 20 years of stage experience as a DJ.He calls his recipe for success Bliss House: A mixture of deep house, organic house, electronica and influences from the UK bass scene. Rooted in drum&bass, the artist is about everything, except of fitting into pigeonholes. His tracks and sets are his form of expression for talking about happiness.His path to self realisation, of overcoming obstacles, and breaking conventions has led Chris Wayfarer to an inner journey. Although he keeps his spiritual practice as a Buddhist in the background, it has a lasting influence on his life and his musical work: Behind the music is the realisation that bliss does not come from the consumption ofexternal things but from within. Chris Wayfarer views happiness as a choice. As an artist, he wants to be a role model and inspire to deal with the concept of bliss and explore new paths.For his new track, he has borrowed the voice of Paul Buk, the lead singer of the band Final Madness. Together, they broach the issue of the increasingly stronger parallel societies in the world. Currents that often utilise inhumane, right-wing extremist narratives and artificially create images of the enemy - because someone looks, loves, believes or thinks differently. Thereby these bubbles often present simple solutions for the problems they have created themselves; petrol for putting out the fires they have started.However, for a society to grow, which enables all people to live a happy and peaceful life, these domes or bubbles must disappear and dialogue must take place: Destroy The Dome.The track combines house music with breakbeats. Edgy but definitely funky, it stomps across the dance floor. Just like Paul Buk ́s voice, the lead in the two main parts of the track digs itself distinctive into the the ear canals. In this way, the track, which will be released on the 16th of August 2024, underlines the message of the two artists.
Exactly a century ago, George Gershwin made history with „Rhapsody In Blue“. A work that not only united jazz and classical music but also became a symbol of American (music) culture. Inspired by the blue notes which are typical for jazz, Gershwin chose the form of the rhapsody for his work. Without a fixed structure and with plenty of room for interpretation, he filled his work with the optimism and freedom that America stood those days.Arrived in the year 2024, Chris Wayfarer adds a further note to the masterpiece. With the focus on central themes of the original, the artist brings the track to the dance floor. And so „Rhapsody For The Floor“ is melting house music, jazz and classical music with a four- four-time. A tribute to liberty and 100 years of Americas music history.

Actually, Chris Wayfarer and T:Base have known each other as colleagues for a while. Both have their musical roots in the drum&bass scene. While T:Base has continued his way in bass-heavy realms, Chris has slowed down and changed the genre for some time. As luck would have it, the almost simultaneous addition to the family brought both artists together again. At first with mutual congratulations, over time with many family meetings and now with the third collabo: All good things comes in threes. The cooperation has resulted in a track that moves somewhere in the field of tension between deep house and downtempo. Serenly and relaxed, the tune seems to float with its guitar sounds and rhodes, while a decent arpeggio spreads above playfully. A solo after the break, which Basti tickled out of his piano, finally leads back into the main theme. A occasion to say thank you: for the occasion, the friendship and for the common track!

A vastness like the infinite horizon melting together with the sea... You let go, set sails, and leave behind all that felt heavy and monotonous. With their first collaboration named "Boundless Horizons", Chris Wayfarer and Jardimo strike a chord with everyone longing for freedom, connection, and new inspiration. The Deep House single will be out on the 12th of August 2022 on sonokraft/Wayfarer Audio. Boundless Horizons is an inner journey. In the beginning, the static beat reigns the scene, reminding us of a steadily operating machine. Playfully, little by little, it gets conquered by melodic flute samples, Rhodes, and spherical pads – like flashes of light through the dusty routine. The track’s floating, at the same time, energizing vibe, and Jardimo’s puristic vocals carry the listeners across the water and invite them to relax and dream. One with nature, in inner peace, sweet nothing..., Though freedom can appear frightening, too! Sensitively embedded in a stringscape that culminates in the break, the timelessly human question vibrates: Where can I find orientation and happiness? A travelling dreamer in boundless horizons I’m chasing the white clouds They’re cooling my sunburn In the far and open sea where can I find me an island made of joy? Both music and lyrics of "Boundless Horizons“ may tell about what connects the two artists: Both walk through life spiritually and search for deeper meaning. Chris Wayfarer has been an active Buddhist for many years whereas Jardimo is dedicated to the holistic practice of Kundalini Yoga. With their new single they wish to loosen people’s hips and inspire their minds. Cast off!

The certainty of walking a path together often seems written in stone. Especially at the beginning. It feels unthinkable that this could separate at some point. So the fine cracks that pervade creepingly through the togetherness remain unnoticed at first. Until they come to light at some point, deepen into rifts and the relationship breaks apart in the worst case. Shambles. What remains is the rebellious but unfulfillable wish of the abandoned to restore old certainties, orchestrated by the deep feeling: „The Fuck I Love You“. And so the eponymous track by Colt Live, Enny One and Chris Wayfarer doesn ́t do things by halves and takes the dancefloor directly for itself. Funky, rough and minimalistic at first. Single lead snippets and implied chords interrupts briefly the monotony with the heavy bassline. Only with the second break a pad joins and sustain each individual sound increasingly, revealing new spots of light musically towards the end of the track.
We then finish off by heading to East Germany! to the city of Chemnitz to hear the latest work of DJ, producer and label owner Chris Wayfarer, who's also been very busy in the studio, and who some of you may recall had a recent Spotlight Special feature on the show with his collaboration with saxophonist Flo Drachenberg.

Ludwig’s face fills with amazement: Miraculously, he has travelled to the bustling, famous beach of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, in the year 2021. On 25th June 2021, the summer tune „Ludwig Loves To Dance”, a cross-genre collab between the classical pianist Felix Reuter and the house music producer Chris Wayfarer, is going to be released. The two German musicians have joined forces and have created a real feel-good track inspired by Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 31. A musical beach walk with a visit at the cocktail bar, pleasurably meandering between a groovy party atmosphere and dreamy passages. Classical piano and guitar lines, a rich double base, driving percussion and influences from samba, salsa and nu jazz find a welcoming home it the deep house body of the track. A fresh fuse that brings holiday mood and summery lightness even to the most lockdown-bent soul. With the collaboration, Felix Reuter, best known for his creative re-arrangements of classical pieces, rounds up his tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven to whom he had already dedicated his recent solo album. To Chris Wayfarer who has always enjoyed collaborating with other musicians and fusing different genres into electronic music, the track is the first work on the base of a classical piece. “Both easy-going and thrilling”, he evaluates the collaboration that, due to the pandemic, was realized across distance.

For example for the title track „When All Things Fall Apart“. Starting with a slightly melancholic mood, the deep house track gains increasingly momentum. Until the break, where the seemingly organic sound structure of rhodes and flutes comes to his preliminary highlight. Determined to leave the melancholy, the sun rises with the coming in of the strings in the second part.
At „Number 13“ the sun goes down at no time. Rhodes, bass guitar and the bell-like sound are spreading summer vibes from the beginning. Thereon a little „yeah“ in the middle part, where the track rebuilds again with the help of old school breaks, to get „Number 13“ back on the dancefloor.

The AMANIC Remix works towards an emotional contrast with melodic energy but strong beats reduced to the most important elements of the original while the Henning Rechenberg focuses with his mix on the functionality of electronic music. Beats at it’s best and highly recommended!

•Mike Morales•’ Remix of 'One of Many' is mounted on a more stripped back beat, that, while still sticking to the breakbeat theme, evokes a lovely 90s feel in combo with the hip house synth bassline.
'Point of View' marks Chris Wayfarers slightly more sombre approach on the EP, with a dark drone bassline, hoovering pads and odd synth blips, yet the almost oriental percussion driven drums make it a sure shot for moodier dancefloors.
Lastly 'Point of View' gets the dub treatment by •Luis Bravo•, and is transformed into a techy minimalistic house track that retains the bassline and the dark atmosphere from the original track, but builds an entrancing mood with the help of additional evolving pads."

"No Strings At Night" is the next release from Chris Wayfarer on Vom Feinsten. Since the last track was groovy electro, this song is finest Acid House (Tech House). The citizen of Chemnitz, who has his origin in Drum & Bass by the way, convinces us again with his musical diversity and versatility. The single although contains a remix of the original, which was produced by the labelown DJ duo Sound & Temper. They said they wanted to create something new, which is inspired by the original - which worked perfectly. The remix is more like Melodic Techno, which captures the themes of "No Strings At Night", but creates a complete new song. Nonetheless, both tracks have a greater effect together, than one alone could ever have.

For years the label No Divas sees itself as a platform and figurehead of electronic music in Chemnitz. Though the focus is essentially on techno, house and their various subgenres, label boss Arno aka Oberwasser and his fellow campaigners loves to look beyond the musical box. So it is no coincidence, that some extraordinary free tracks and a lot of diverse podcasts complete the catalogue of eight releases until now. Thereby No Divas always convinces with a clear and tidy sound and a large portion of understatement. Just in time for the fifth birthday of the label they have signed release number nine. Both tracks, who are made by Chris Wayfarer, fit the current trend of No Divas to publish slower tunes. Because Underwater Dance get in lane beyond the threshold of 110 BPM and somewhere between techno and electro. With a edgy bassline and twisted piano sounds the track stomps slowly but relentlessly over the dancefloor. Letting Go takes it a little bit easier. The track finds its way really sensitive into your ears. Playful bell-like sounds, warm-mooded brasses and a slightly modulated vocal have what it takes to send shivers down your spine.

After the bombastic first release of Daniel Stefanik on Ace Up My Sleeve Records, we are now entering the second round with Chris Wayfarer! Already 14 years ago, he built up a reputation in the national Drum’n’Bass scene as Mr.Lettuce. As Chris Wayfarer, he loves to fuse Techno and House in such a way, that a melodious brew with a huge portion of groove is being created. He found two tracks, that he could provide us with.
“On The Move” is a crystal-clear stomper with a phat bassline, oldschool beats and a truly thunder of effects. The second track is called “Copy & Paste” and is both a playful and experimental Techno-Electronica piece of music with a slight Kalkbrenner attitude and a warm melody embracing piano sounds and a catchy melody. Chris is always on the move!

Now the open air season is slowly coming to the end, the days are getting shorter and the nights longer, we have decided to review the summer in a musical way. The result is a 90-minute mix of deep and funky house tracks to nod, to dance or to daydream. Enjoy!
Da sich die Open Air Saison dieses Jahr so langsam aber sicher dem Ende nähert, die Tage kürzer und die Nächte länger werden, haben wir uns entschlossen, den Sommer musikalisch Revue passieren zu lassen.
