For many years Re:Fresh Your Mind (R|Y|M) has been a pillar of subcultural development in the Rhine-Main area and on a national level mainly focussing on event organization. Though the events have expended lately not only in Frankfurt but also on a national level due to its musical diversity and generally speaking because of its openness towards changes in the scene. Understandably Re:Fresh Your Mind is conceived as a platform for a subcultural exchange between artists and music lovers initiated by SKAI and his Re:Fresh family, which include a few well respected DJs. With the label-launch of R|Y|M Records earlier this year Re:Fresh Your Mind-basis enhanced its reputation in the scene and takes another step in its development. Therefore, Frankfurt based SKAI teamed up with Gorge, who is well respected for his solo-productions and of course his works with Nick Curly. You never know what to expect next, but be sure it won't be anything you can be certain about when talking about R|Y|M - Re:Fresh Your Mind.

Born and raised in Frankfurt, cultural activist Alex Azary is one of the bedrocks of the cities music and club scene. Being a long time friend and companion of Sven Väth since beginning of the 80s, he witnessed and experienced the awakening of the international electronic movement during the 90s. Together with Sven he toured the world, playing all major festivals and cult clubs across the globe.
Besides being known as DJ and Producer, the list of groundbreaking nationally and internationally acclaimed projects, clubs, events and companies he is responsible for seems to be endless and includes Frankfurt cult clubs XS, Royal, Dorian Gray, Technoclub, Euphoria, Holy X Mas Rave, Frontpage Magazine, AMV Distribution, ICM Music Publishing, A.I.M., G.E.M., Elektrolux, Elux Records, Mikrolux, Phono Elements, psi49net, PV Records, Hey Babe!, Space Night, Flowmotion …. and many many others… his contributions to club culture and the development of electronic music can’t be underestimated. He really is one of the true innovators and pioneers of the movement.
His latest project is perfectly summing up his experiences in those domains: with MOMEM – Museum Of Modern Electronic Music, which will open later this year in Frankfurt, he is founding the world’s first museum for electronic music and club culture. Still, one of his driving impulses remains his passion and interest for new and innovative music and sound. This is why he never really gave up on following and playing the music he loves and which made him do what he did.

The latest contribution to Gorge and SKAIs label catalogue comes from a familiar face of the gang. Seems like Mallorcan Frink has a fetish for percussive and rolling beats. RYM019 including three originals, whereby 'Albatros' comes along with a drunken bassline to warming you up for the dance floor, 'Just Human' speaks for itself as a bouncing peak time weapon and the third one, 'Opposite', takes no prisoners in the club morning: Either you dance till early midday or you have to go home. Old family friend David Keno added his personal note on 'Just Human' by turning synths to the maximum, creating a euphoric break in the middle section. Dancers should raise their hands!

Seit 2012 arbeiten beide intensiv an der Plattenkonferenz (mit Klubnächten zB im Harry Klein, Rote Sonne usw.) und gemeinsamen Off-location Parties sowie Open Airs. 2013 haben die beiden die Fast Past EP auf Semester Musik und 2014 die One Night @ Plattenkonferenz EP auf U6-Schallplatten veröffentlicht.
Wichtig ist den beiden Authenzität, Geradlinigkeit und die Freude an elektronischer Tanzmusik.

Im einen Fall Kassettendecks dank elterlicher HiFi-Vorlieben und eine ausgeprägte Maxi-Single-Sucht, im anderen Fall die glückliche Entdeckung der UKW-Frequenz von Sunshine Live und der Data Becker Techno Maker: Die Herren Bösser und Wohde sind spätestens seit der Grundschule Mitte der 90er Connaisseure wohlklingender, meist elektronischer Musik. Auf den gemeinsamen Geschmack kamen sie erst 2005, als auch die ersten Plattenspieler angeschafft und das Frankfurter Einzugsgebiet unsicher gemacht wurde. Die gemächlichen Frankfurter haben seitdem einen groove-zentrierten Sound zwischen Deep- und Tech-House ausbaldowert und uns im vergangenen April mit "Of Mountains & Rainbows" ihr Debut auf dem R|Y|M-Label beschert.

When Markus Homm started going to his first House parties, the likes of Beatport and Myspace hadn’t even been thought of. Born in 1980, Marcus was 15 years old when he became infected with electro music and subse- quently got his hands on a turntable. He then began to seek out the latest releases at the record store and also by asking local DJ’s the identity of the tracks that had kept him dancing late into the night. Markus Homm’s music is in a constant state of development, always searching for, and finding the most compelling groove. This diverse musical direction has led Homm & Popoviciu to successful releases with various labels, including their home label Highgrade Records, and Diynamic Music. As a Producer and DJ he moves consistently forward and continues his playful exploration of the tensions between music and body, while working on his own unique and very special musical success story.

Mario was born in Hanover in 1985 and started djing at the age of 15. After his first successful gigs in his hometown he was sure that electronic music was going to be a permanent fixture in his life. When he turned 19 and with this mindset, he started working as a trainee at a local record shop ("Street Sounds") in order to expand his musical knowledge. In 2013 his focus was more on originals - releases on Gorge's label Katchuli, the new berlin-based label WellDone! and Colourful Recordings were following. But for sure he was still remixing as well - For labels like Peppermint Jam, Steyoyoke, Cyclic, Simple As That, Telekollegen and Bubbles On The Air just to name a few! Having finally broken through into the public conscious thanks to productions like Reminisce on Get Physical, Feelings on Mobilee and Got To Live on OFF as well as others on labels like Noir and Defected, Tapesh has become very much in demand around the world, taking his flamboyant DJ sets to clubs like Cocoon in Frankfurt, Warung in Brazil and Studio 80 in the Netherlands. With multi-cultural roots informed by everything from house to breakdance across scenes in UK, US and Europe, Tapesh has fomented a very unique DJ style that takes in plenty of sounds and knits them together into one grater whole. SKAI started as a DJ in Wiesbaden in the 90's and in the following years he was responsible for the sound of the trendy club 50grad in Mainz. With his colleague Amir he founded the successful DJ-Team "Groove Rebels" and he played at the top clubs of the republic. It followed a lot of releases and remixes as well as a trip to the club scene of Vancouver. SKAI is the mastermind behind "Re:Fresh", he was a resident at the Cocoon Club, at New Basement in Wiesbaden and he counts with this impulsive Deep/Techouse sound to one of the most active DJ of the region. As a workaholic he refines his ideas with several co-operation partners to create Deep- & Tech-House based club music.

Matchy & Bott belong to a newly emerging scene of Young artists crowding into the steadily crowing Nu-Disco /Deep House Scene. Kia grew up in the Rhein-Main area in Hessen,Germany. At a very young age she was already interested in going out and had her first contact with electronic music in different clubs in Frankfurt. It didnt take long for her to realize that it wouldnt be enough to just listen or dance to this sound. Kia decided to do something and become one of the unfortunately very few Djanes.
Her style is to be situated somewhere between House and Techno. To her the most important is the good selection of tracks in her set. She loves to look for records in second hand shops, record stores or in the internet for hours. In her environment she had great support from Vera and Dorian Paic (Robert Johnson). During that time Kia could learn a lot and managed to develop her own style.

Thats all what it took for a young Christian Nielsen to fall deeply in love with the (at the time) unknown ''4 to the floor''. It didn't take long before his brand new DJ bag was filled with Kerri, Jimpster, Mr. V, Master At Work, Larry Heard, Moodymann, Frankie Knuckles and many more.

DJ, producer, remixer and promoter from Warsaw with over ten years of experience. Over the years he shared decks with a big guns of music industry like Danny Howells, Nic Fanciulli, Guy Gerber, Oxia, James Zabiela, Robert Dietz, Noir, Nick Curly, Mario Basanov & Vidis, Nick Warren or Pete Tong to name a few. Chasing Kurt is a newborn deephouse project from Gießen / Germany - a collaboration between Pascal Blanché, Wojtek Kutschke and Lukas Poloczek. Pascal and Wojtek, both deephouse lovers for long years, started doing their first tracks but always had the need of a lovely vocal for their songs. Wojtek, himself DJ for a long time, one day played in his hometown - at the same time Lukas worked at a bar in this location and after Wojteks set he was singing some phrases while closing the bar – Wojtek heard his voice and asked Lukas if he would like to jam together. The track “Daydream“ was the result of their first improvised jam session in Pascals small homestudio. The Kurts were overhelmed about it and found themselves to be good men for doing more of this.

Steffen Deux’s mixing of the ‘5 Years of 8 Bit’ compilation saw the poacher turn gamekeeper. Having previously had his own music appearing on compilations such as Cocoon’s ‘Party Animals’, the 8 Bit mix allowed him to step up and demonstrate his talents as a DJ rather than producer.
As a native of Mannheim, Steffen began to hone his craft as a resident DJ at Ludwigshafen's notorious Loft Club, which regularly hosts guests like Villalobos, Carl Cox, Nick Curly and Marco Carola. 2010 saw the dawn of significant international exposure with dates at Kehakuma in Ibiza, Mac Arena Mar in Barcelona and more recently on the ‘5 Years of 8 Bit’ tour at Watergate in Berlin. These recent outings have given Steffen the opportunity to show off, in a live environment, the groovy, melodic and always danceable house music he demonstrates on the ‘5 Years….’ mix.
Though having only released a handful of music, Steffen has had remarkable success, with almost half of his releases being snapped up and included in major compilations: ‘Yankee Clipper’ on Cocoon’s ‘Party Animals’; ‘Shosholoza’ on ‘5 Years of 8 Bit’ and then, most recently, with Dorian Paic selecting ‘Hungry’ for his ‘Cocoon Heroes’ mix.

It’s been 15 years, Berlin resident Philipp Maier aka Santé has gained his merits within the music business. Enough time to assume some hints of ‘been there, done that’-attitude. The opposite is true. Despite his countless releases on Souvenir, Bouq, Rekids, 8 Bit, Cocoon and whatnot, despite a fully booked tour-schedule and shows bringing his DJ- and live-sets to almost every corner of the world and despite his renowned producer-skills, making him the engineer for Tiefschwarz’ last record, you wouldn’t ever get the impression this guy would rest on his laurels for even one minute. In fact, he’s as hungry and interested as he was when starting off. Hungry for advancement, cooperation with other artists and – most definitely – the ecstasy of playing shows. Interested in transforming his own musical horizon, reaching way beyond House- and Techno, into new releases. With Avotre, there’s a new framework for all of this. Gorge has been an ever-present force in the dance music scene for a good two decades. Originally a drummer and pianist, he turned his attention to electronic music in the early 90's and he soon found himself co-running legendary label 8bit with Nick Curly, going on to spawn the groove-laden "Mannheim Sound". In his time he has released on labels from Objectivity to Diynamic and widely renowned as a true producer's producer by those in the know within the German scene. Despite his relatively young age, Martin already has developed a very fine taste in electronic music. His love for minimal house has grown from a very early stage. With his continuously growing interest in the scene he finally ended up producing back in 2008. Having arrived at this point there was no turning back for him. It was also in this field that he discoverd his one true big love-sampling. Only short after, the young artist published his first EP on the label subdub digitales. Ever since, with his abulic eagerness and constantly new ideas in mind, Martin is working on new creative output, which will result in very many good things to come. Stay tuned!
