Today is Dec. 21st, the shortest day of the year. The sun will set here in north central Minnesota at 4:32, and with all this darkness, it is all the more difficult for whom this is not the "happiest time of the year." If this is true for you, come and listen and reflect.
This Sunday we will celebrate Reformation Sunday as well the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism.
As Bob Dylan so appropriability sings, "Your gonna have to serve somebody", today's reading from Matthew 22 gives us who we are to serve.
Today we are given a miserable and nasty parable that if it were made into a movie is would be considered a HORROR movie! Let's hope there is more going on here than what forst meets our eyes and ears!
In this weeks reading from Matthew 21:33-46 we hear about a landowner, a vineyard and some cranky tenants.

In our reading from Matthew 16:13-20 we encounter Jesus and his disciples at Caesarea Phillippi where Jesus asks the question, "Who do you say that I?"
Today’s reading remind us that it is not what enters our body that defiles, but rather it is what comes from our mouths that defile. We also encounter a persistent woman pleading for healing on behalf of her daughter.
Today we hear about how Elijah encounters the still,small voice of God. Andwe hear about Peter attempting to walk on water.

in this episode God invites us to take up Jeus' yoke and walk in his dust so that we might be the people God created us to be.

In this weeks gospel from Matthew 10 we hear some worrisome words, and yet, Jesus tells us to do not worry. Easier said than done for most of us.

On Sunday May 17th we will observe the 6th Sunday after Easter where Jesus speaks of both love and commandments to love one another,as well as the promise of the Advocate.
