Jill Ellsworth founder of Willow Industries today on Hempire only on Cannabis Radio. It begins in early 2015, with an unexpected phone call. It was Jill's old friend, a first-time grower, and he had a problem: Colorado had new cannabis testing laws, and his first harvest was now subject to testing. By the time the call ended, two things were obvious: cannabis contamination—by mold or other means—was an industry-wide problem, and there were no solutions on the market. But a solution did seem possible, so I agreed to help. Over the next few months, our garage became an R&D lab. And They've tried everything. Willow started with high-pressure pasteurization, but that destroyed the flower. Then they moved to UV light, but it wasn’t powerful enough and—worse—they saw terpene loss. Finally, after multiple rounds of testing, they arrived at the ozone. This time, Willow saw great results. Ozone killed the microbial without altering the flower—our perfect solution! Four months later, they delivered the first operational WillowPure system to their first customer, and it was off to the races.

The agricultural boom delivered a massive rise in the number of producers. The non-regulated state of has essentially allowed manufacturers and distributors to slap impressive-looking labels on their products, thus marketing and selling these products however they please. Quality manufacturers know that an industry without rules and regulations will quickly become overrun with scams, false advertising, and out-and-out lies, which pose several challenges for consumers to make educated purchases or receive quality, reliable information. Good, honest companies with quality products are rapidly seeking ways to overcome the competition and rise to the top, and most of these companies are accomplishing this through third-party testing. These honorable companies know they are manufacturing and selling quality products, and they are not scared to have an unbiased, outside source to verify their integrity. The goal behind independent third-party lab testing is to have a neutral, unbiased source examine the content and quality of a company’s products.

Today on Hempire Dr. Eileen is joined by Dr. Bill Rawls. Bill was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my mid-forties. he developed insomnia, fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, and all the symptoms that collectively pointed toward a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Frustrated, he tried to make sense of the situation. Development of chest pain and heartbeat irregularity suggested something more than just fibromyalgia, but a cardiac catheterization showing clean vessels and normal labs for cholesterol, thyroid, and blood chemistries just added to my frustration. None of the symptoms added up, and my medical colleagues were just as puzzled as he was.
Dr. Rawls began to search outside conventional medicine. With no other solution to turn to, he steered away from conventional medicine and changed my healing methods. Bill began shifting his focus from unsuccessfully searching for a diagnosis towards health restoration. He became extremely vigilant about his diet, adopted a moderate exercise regimen that my condition allowed, practiced meditation, and learned yoga. He'd always had an interest in natural healthcare and began studying and experimenting with herbal supplements known to have restorative value. Thankfully, these experiments started to work; his health began to gradually rebound… until the tick bite.

Today on Hempire our host is joined by William S. Eidelman, MD. William's medical education began when he was a child. His late great father was a professor of psychiatry at St. Louis University School Of Medicine. He was the only non-Freudian in the department of psychiatry for 25+ years. William learned from his father that through simple caring, they could help others through their pain and illness, sometimes. He showed him his understanding that everyone in medicine has a lot to learn, that no one really knows all the answers. Doctor's do the best they can, which was sometimes successful and often not. So this was his attitude when he started medical school. Once there, it seemed like something was missing from the medical program, but William couldn't say quite what it was at the time. It seemed like they were going in the wrong direction in several basic ways. Now he realizes that there were several topics missing or neglected.
Today on Hempire our host is joined by Dr. Ernie Murakami from Dr. E. Murakami's Centre for Lyme Research, Education & Assistance Society. Dr. Murakami became involved in Lyme Disease while in his practice based in the rural community of Hope, British Columbia. Through his practice, he developed two new methods of tick removal, one which was the Blister Method; the injection of a pre-measured mixture of Xylocaine and Adrenaline directly beneath the jaw of the tick. This method is used today, primarily in Medical offices and by Emergency Physicians. The second method was the Drinking Straw and Single Knot Method, in which the attached tick is placed inside the straw, with the straw held at a 45 degree angle. A suture string is placed under the straw, directly in contact with the mouth of the wood tick. A single knot is applied. Constant alternating releasing pressure is applied upwards away from the skin and the tick releases itself intact, from the host. This technique was accepted by the Compensation Board and the Justice Institute for the training of ambulance and first-aid personnel and is in full use today. These techniques were at the time, being taught by Dr. Murakami to other Physicians at International Conferences. During the times spent at these clinics, he became familiar with the treatment of Lyme, both long term and short term, as well as the split theories surrounding the treatment of Lyme. One fraction believed that only 3 weeks of treatment was adequate at any level, despite the fact that this had been disproven, while the other half believed that long-term treatment was required to eradicate the Cystic form of the disease, based on biological fact. Dr. Murakami became intrigued with the disease as to the epidemiology with his first case of confirmed Lyme Disease in Agassiz, BC at the Federal Penitentiary. This patient showed the typical bulls-eye rash that developed soon after being infected. A second case intrigued him further when another patient from Hope, BC was confirmed to have a typical rash and a positive Eliza serology. Both these patients responded to three weeks of antibiotic treatment.

Today on Hempire our host is joined by Jose Bellen the co-founder of Mission Zero. Jose and his wife Danielle founded Mission Zero to combat the PTSD and veteran suicide epidemic plaguing U.S. veterans. They know from our own experiences that a PTSD diagnosis isn’t a death sentence or the end of the line. But they also know that it changes everything. They understand what it’s like to be endlessly hounded by nightmares, depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, and the thought that there might never be an escape. Now she’s suing Sessions so that others like her won’t have to leave home in fear of retribution from the federal government if they, too, use medical marijuana. The suit aims to prove that the Controlled Substances Act, the statute governing federal drug policy, is unconstitutional as it relates to marijuana, according to Alexis’ attorney, Michael S. Hiller. Joining in on the suit with Alexis are plaintiffs Marvin Washington, a former NFL lineman; Jose Belen, an Army veteran; and Jagger Cotte, a 6-year-old Georgia boy with Leigh syndrome, all of whom use medicinal cannabis. The Cannabis Cultural Association is also named as a plaintiff, according to court documents.

Potential Therapeutic Effects of THC on Alzheimer's Disease Dr. Eileen Karpfinger speaks with Sharlene Mavor, the Director of Medical Cannabis Research Australia. Mavor explains," "We are just really keen to get clinical trials happening in Perth as it gets patients on medicinal cannabis within the trial setting, it will promote medicinal cannabis via the publicity even the announcement of a trial will cause, it will increase confidence in the medical community for its use and ultimately it will open up more qualifying conditions for general prescribing within Australia. Doctors are demanding good quality scientific evidence and this will provide it. My own involvement will be just to help facilitate the project(s) coming together in any way I can...whether it be will grant applications, fundraising, awareness raising - Whatever I can do.
I also really feel that Alzheimer's is a condition where there is just very few options for treatment right now. Nothing really works for the symptoms and I truly believe medical cannabis can provide help and hope for easing these patients pain, insomnia, depression, appetite, and there is hope for increasing their cognition as well. With such a safe medication as medical cannabis it's such a natural alternative to anything else.
