Kiersten talks with cast members, Emily, Clay and Hailey, of the UIL One Act Play, Penelopiad. Together they discuss acting processes, challenges and highlights of working on this show as well as what they hope viewers took from watching.
The Penelopiad was written by Margaret Atwood. It is a play based on The Odyssey, except it details the life of Odysseus' wife, Penelope, it tells of her waiting for her husband to return home from war. While he was gone, she befriended a group of maids, who helped her deceive the suitors. The suitors were cruel men who wanted to marry Penelope. Upon Odysseus' return the maid are unjustly punished, and this is the retelling of the story from Penelope's perspective after her death.
