The first in a series of studies of the letter from James includes finding joy amidst trial, strength in the face of temptation, and wisdom from God.
Numbers 11 | The Israelites receive God's physical blessing and provision daily, namely in the food provided for each meal. This food is called manna, the divine bread of Heaven; however, the Israelites are quick to grumble and complain. They romanticize their time in Egypt and allow their complaining to speak louder than the contentment found in gratitude. What blessings might you be overlooking in your life? How might an inaccurate recollection of the past be prohibiting your gratitude in the present? May our present gratitude in God's blessings give us a hope in what is to come.
Leviticus 26:3-46 | This week we study in Leviticus the covenant between God and Israel. This passage is full of rules and the consequences of broken rules, however, the message is deeper. We see the mercy of God and are charged to trust NOT in our own ability and definition of good and evil, but to instead trust in the very one who perfectly understood God's definition of good and evil, who conquered death and sin, and blesses us with the invitation to trust Him.
Exodus 34:1-14, 27-30 | Is your life marked by the change of encountering Christ? This week we see the physical and spiritual reflection of God's presence on Moses. Does your life reflect the same?
Exodus 33:1-23 | This week we see the mercy of God. Because of the cross, you can be confident that no matter what, God is with you. He goes with you. He’s with you in the wilderness and in the wanderings. He’s with you in the trials and the pain. You have an advocate with God the Father who is greater than Moses—Jesus Christ who together with the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with tenderness, love and compassion. This may not minimize the hardship of reality, but you can rest knowing that God goes before you, guiding, encouraging, speaking through people..etc.
Exodus 32 | In this message we see how quickly the Israelites turn from God. They take the very resources God instructed to take upon their departure from Egypt and fashion a golden calf from them. As the church and followers of Christ, how might we learn from the Israelite's response to waiting. Will we be a faithful church in seasons of transition?
Exodus 24 | In this week's message we see Israel meet God as it parallel's with the coming of Jesus. The Israelites are covered by the blood of a lamb sacrifice in the same way we covered by the blood of Jesus. Forgiven from our sins. Loved in our rebellion. Saved though undeserving. We are loved by a holy, gracious, and personal God that invites us into fellowship with Him. In light of God's mercy, how might you live differently?
Exodus 23 | Love God. Love Others. In this week's message we see the importance of God's command to love. But do you know the love of God? Is it different from the way the world loves? from the way we love one another? from the way we have received love as children. God's love is unconditional. It does not increase nor diminish. And all that God asks of us is that we love Him and turn our praise to Him.
Exodus 20 // You are loved. You are enough. You are chosen. // Have you ever thought of life to be fun when following the rules? Is there freedom within the bounds of laws? Does your value diminish whether these laws are followed or broken? Tune into this week's message about life encountered by love. Life with Jesus.
Exodus 19 | This week in our continued series on Moses we examine the relationship God has designed between Himself and Moses and the Israelites. We see a God that pursues us in the same way he pursues the Israelites, relentlessly, strategically, and uniquely.
Exodus 18 | Are you happy? Do you rejoice is seasons of abundance? Do you rejoice even amidst grief? Today we look at the heart position of Moses as he shares with his father-in-law the journey God has taken him through. Don't let the sorrow of yesterday rob you of the joy found in today!
Exodus 17 | When life gets hard, does that mean it is bad? Sometimes God brings us to a place where we are prompted to call on Him. This week we take a look at how the Israelites respond to their thirst. God once again intervenes with provision!
Starting in Luke 2.22 we see prophesy of the coming Messiah beginning to unfold. A Savior for both Jews and Gentiles, for every people, nation, and tongue. So look no more to the peace, hope, and consolation of this world, but set your eyes on the things above. The Messiah has come and offers perfect peace to anyone who has asks.
Jeremiah 29 & Matthew 2 | Tune into this week's message as we examine God working through us.
Genesis 3 & Luke 2 | Do you imagine the voice of God to be loud, thundering, dramatic? Or steady, gentle, and still? Tune into the message this week as we examine how Mary and Joseph experience the movements of God in the coming of baby Jesus.
Matthew 1: 18 - 25 | We may experience a variety of emotions when making a decision. The question is, do you allow your choices to be informed by fear or peace? This week we study the response of Joseph when Mary shares the news of her miraculous pregnancy.
John 1 | Hope has come! This week we study the coming of Jesus in the beginning of this redemptive story to save mankind. We see the birth of the Gospel in the arrival of baby Jesus, given by the Father to take on flesh so that He may overcome darkness, brokenness, and even death. So again I say, hope has come!
Exodus 14 | How do you respond to regrets? In this week's message, we see the aftermath of Pharaoh letting the Israelites go. We see regret, fear, doubt, and response. In the desert, the land between where you left and where you arrive, do you feel stuck? Do you want to turn back? Will you move forward?
Exodus 12 | We continue our study with Moses and examine the sacrifices he makes as he joins God on mission to stir within the hearts of His people. We see that when God asks for sacrifice, it is for things that have already been provided by God. Is the cost of letting go worth it?
What does it take to grab your attention? When God is moving in your environment, how do you respond? God is on mission and will go to the greatest length to make His name known and glory revealed. Let's examine Exodus 9 as we see God's mission in His interaction with Pharaoh.
Are You Ready To Go? | Exodus 4:18-31 | We are plagued with decisions every day: what to wear, what to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, when to wake up, when to leave, whether to stop, when to go...etc. But have you answered the single, most important question, will you serve God? Listen to this week's message as we examine Moses's response to this question.
Have you ever asked, "why do bad things happen?" We are continuing through the book of Ruth.
The book of Ruth surrounds the main theme of tragedy into triumph. Don't we all have a dream or expectation that has been shattered? We are circling around God, our redeemer.
We have core desires in our life, to be loved and to have a purpose. What can you focus on for your life to have more meaning?
Do you ever wonder if God will accept you? In spite of the flaws and sin and mistakes, do you ever wonder if you will lose the love and acceptance of God? We take a look at a man on a mat lowered through the ceiling to be placed at Jesus' loving and accepting presence.
Imagine for a second you don't have health insurance. Now imagine the overwhelming pressure of a sick child, or family member and the weight of medical bills and questioning if going to the doctor is even worth it. Taking this all the way back to when Jesus was alive, pre x-ray machines and antibiotics, Jesus was attentive of the need. He was in the healing ministry all for the purpose of their eternity.
What does it mean that God wants you to be well? We take a look at a miracle Jesus performed and how he treated them with mercy.
Jesus spent a lot of His time healing. It makes you stop and wonder why it was so important to Him regardless of how tired or busy He was. This leads us to the question: how are you doing health wise?
Do you comprehend how much God wants to connect with you? He wants to connect with you more than anything.
What is this thing called faith? There are three components to faith; knowing, believing, and trusting. Where is your faith at?
God is at work doing some of the greatest work in your life, whether you see it or not. It's already happening, it has already happened, you just may not know it yet.
Have you ever tried to make sense of your life? The world? It's crazy when you take a step back and look behind you, you can start to see the puzzle pieces slide and fit together. Looking back at Palm Sunday, we can see the significance of the moment Jesus rode into Jerusalem.
Today we dive into Mark 10:46-52, the story of Blind Bartimaeus receiving his sight. We hope you place yourself within the story and see what the Lord has to teach you today.
Have you ever been called to the principal's office and the dreadful walk down the hallway just turns your stomach? Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem, taking steps closer to his death.
No person is left blameless of sin. What God has is in relationships is perfect, what we have is broken. Can you imagine a perfect marriage/children/job etc. God desires the best for us and we must acknowledge that we are in need of Jesus.
Does it matter? Does it really matter how I choose to live my life? Does God really care what I do? It's so easy to minimize our life and think it doesn't matter what I choose to do or how I live my life. God says it does matter.
Can God really help me? Do you believe God is able to answer our prayers? When someone asked Jesus "if he can do anything" it seems as though Jesus was bothered with the question of it. Sometimes the more difficult question to ask is if Jesus is willing.
"Who are you... really?" When no one is looking, who are you? Jesus allowed only three of his disciples to see who He really was. Jump into the teaching on Mark 9:2-13 today!
"My Will or God's?" This is one of the biggest issues in people's lives. Do I do my will or God's will? In Mark, Peter had an idea of what God was supposed to do, but Jesus gave us a different message.
