Do you experience emotional pain and suffering these days? Is your life not progressing the way you want?
Does the need to have control over everything leave you feeling anxious or paralyzed?
Does fear of the future leave you feeling negatively about what is to come?
If so, you deserve to hear this conversation.
So much of our suffering and worry occurs in our own mind. Often this leaves us overwhelmed, exhausted, pessimistic and with the feeling that a better life just is not possible. When, in fact, the opposite is true.
You and you alone hold the key to ending much of your personal struggles and suffering. The answer lies in your thoughts.
In this episode, Patrick speaks with ACIM Forgiveness Coach Luc Bouchard who shares practical tips to regaining your peace of mind, overcoming limiting beliefs, and learning to embrace vulnerability and give up the overwhelming need to control everything.
Patrick and Luc discuss just how we keep ourselves prisoner by reacting to every thought we have, and living in a reactionary way. And how our need for control and understanding can leave us unable to think deeply and get in touch with our inner self.
If you're ready to take steps toward finding peace of mind, living in the now, and empowering yourself to live free of judgement and dissatisfaction and fear, this is the episode for you. Listen now!
Luc Bouchard has worked in marketing, branding, and message-crafting for businesses. Currently he is pursuing his life's work as a Forgiveness Coach. He is also the creator of The Forgiveness Declarations, a 78-card deck full of prompts one can use on their journey toward forgiveness and achieving peace of mind.

How often do you think about what you think?
Could it be that the reason for your low self-esteem, depression, envy, or unfulfilled desire is... you?
Of course, we all want a better life. But sometimes that better life seems too far away especially when we are always focusing on the negative aspects of our life, or when we feel lesser than other people.
What if you could drop those feelings of being second-best? What if you could feel proud of the accomplishments you have made?
Ask yourself: why don't I focus on me and who I am first?
It's not being self-centered or selfish, it's building your best self.
The beautiful and most empowering part of your journey to a better life is that you hold the key. No one else has to do it for you. And you get to do it your way.
How?
By choosing what to think about. And by choosing to think about yourself for who you are instead of what you're not.
It's as simple as that.
You and you alone have the ability to free yourself from your mental prison. Why? Because you built it!
If you're ready to stop feeling envious, weak, shy or uncertain of who you are. This is the episode for you. Patrick lays out one of the ways in which we can think ourselves away from peace of mind and trap ourselves in toxic thought patterns. And together we can work on beating that negative thought and seeing ourselves for who we truly deserve to be. Listen now!
How much of your emotional pain and suffering is your fault?
Even if you have been wronged or hurt, how long will you continue to hold on to that pain?
The first step you can take toward feeling better is the act of forgiveness. Of course it will not be easy, but you can begin to live a better life right now by choosing forgiveness.
But what does this really mean?
In truth, it is our ego and our pride that hold on the pain and suffering we've experienced. We internalize those hurtful acts and we begin to see ourselves as victims.
In fact, if we allow it, our ego can cloud our judgements about the world, leaving us cynical and bitter.
But we can begin to release that pain and start healing when we choose not to give our peace of mind to someone or something else. Forgiveness means taking the responsibility to move forward with our life.
But how can we do this?
In this episode, Patrick speaks with ACIM Forgiveness Coach Luc Bouchard who shares practical tips to regaining your peace of mind, battling depression, overcoming limiting beliefs and learning to give up the overwhelming need to control everything. He also shares deep insights into the process of forgiveness.
If you're ready to take steps towards feeling better, healing your trauma, and moving forward, free of pain, this is the episode for you. Listen now!

The worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves.
I could never... I can't... I won't succeed... They wouldn't let me.
Past traumas, past failures, worries about the future, and the approval of our families: All of these prevent us from living the life we deserve. If we let them.
What if, for a moment, those meant nothing?
All yourself for a moment to just imagine...
All the beliefs you have about why you don't act, or about why you can't have what you need. What if they weren't holding you back? What if they were invitations to take exactly what you wanted from life?
Limiting beliefs, desire for social approval, and a lack of mindful connection to ourselves can be toxic and deadly, but they can also be the very traits that actually empower us to go after exactly what we want.
How is this possible?
In this conversation Patrick and Nikki discuss reframing negative beliefs and finding the answer to our deepest questions where we least want to look. It's not easy, and it requires courage, but your better life lies behind the door you least want to open.
But therein lies the freedom. There is no mystery. Your body and your beliefs are crying out for you to live happier and healthier. And they're telling you exactly how to do it.
It's time you listened.
After all, as Robert Frost said, "the only way 'round is through."
If you are ready to free yourself from negative thoughts, to learn to listen to what your body tells you, and take on the task of building a better life, this is the episode for you. Listen now!

We simply need to know which questions to ask.

Your better life may not be that far away.

“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”
-Terence McKenna
There is something strange that all humans are programmed to do. And if we don't keep it in check, it will lead to a lot of problems in our lives.
Do you find yourself emotionally influenced by people or events that you have no real connection to? (Politics, sports, social media influencers.)
Do you have a hard time saying what you really think?
Do people seem to find you boring? Or are you often arguing against others?
It could be that you haven't developed your inner voice.
We humans are programmed to seek answers from authority. We don't mind being told what to think, what to do, or how to act if we believe it will benefit us. Why figure all that out yourself if someone trustworthy will just point you in the right direction?
We all want to know what our purpose on this earth is. Where did we come from, and where will we go when we die? And day-to-day we want to know that what we are doing is right.
Modern media and culture hijacks this desire, and today thousands of people make a lot of money off of your attention and your emotional connection to them and their brands by telling you how to think and how to act.
The consequence to you is losing yourself. Your self confidence is tied to your favourite sports team, your critical thinking is secondary to what your favorite social media guru tells you, and if you find someone who disagrees it often ends in confrontation.
But what do you think? What really matters to you?
If you struggle to be alone with your thoughts, if you need constant distraction by social media, TV and music, if you argue with others about things over which neither of you have any control...that is an invitation to self-development and building a better life.
It's time you started consuming less content that makes you angry or desperate and stopped arguing with your family members. You simply have to develop your inner voice. There is a thoughtful person inside you, but they won't get their chance to be heard and recognized if all you're doing is consuming the words of others.
If you're ready to become confident and certain of who you are, stop the childish emotional attachment to things on TV, and form meaningful relationships with others, this episode will inspire you to start thinking for yourself. Listen now!
Do you keep a daily journal? And if so, is it really helping you live a better life?
Is that time commitment making a difference or has it become a tired habit?
Maybe it's time to refresh your approach.
(And if you don't journal at all, don't worry, there's plenty of advice here to get started.)
Through journaling we are forced to take accountability for ourselves and our choices. But keeping a record of our daily life is only useful if we are brutally honest and detailed.
If you find that, despite your attempts at productive and healthy tasks, you still feel bored, unfulfilled, anxious or depressed, your journal could be doing more for you.
There may be underlying behaviours or substances in your life that sabotaging the wonderful life you deserve. Journalling can help us identify them, point to them, and say, "no more!"
Do you have a sense that you could be living a better life, doing more, having more fun, experiencing more pleasure?
Could you be happier, fulfilled, more productive, maybe even more attractive if you could just pinpoint exactly where you're going wrong or what's not working?
With journaling, you're well on your way. You hold the key to a better life!
If you're ready for a fresh, new way to journal, and you want to know exactly how to live your best life in 2023, this is the episode for you. Listen now!
Are you feeling dissatisfied and unfulfilled?
Could you be doing more with your life?
Do you crave substances or behaviours that are unhealthy?
Do you believe the world is against you?
While we may not be able to turn our life around in one day, we can start in that direction RIGHT NOW. You hold the key.
The thoughts that you repeatedly have, and the way you choose to look at the world are under your control.
Why do we choose to focus on the negative aspects of our life? To let shame and guilt from our past define our present and our future?
Why do we fantasize about our favourite vice or toxic behaviour instead of engaging with the task at hand?
What if you could spend a few minutes each day re-framing the world as you see it?
Wouldn't you feel more at peace if you could connect with others and carry yourself confidently?
It's time to heal your wounded ego, and focus on what you have and what you've been given, and less about what you don't have.
It's time to realize the beauty of the world around you and feel a part of it (not apart from it).
By making time to engage with your past, live in the present, and be honest about your future, you can soar above your dissatisfaction and unfulfillment and begin to build the life you deserve.
The best part is: it's all up to you!
Isn't it time to start feeling positive and grateful, to start focussing on yourself, and to stop feeling depressed and anxious? Let's start today. Listen now!

Why do you work 8 hours a day (or more) but spend little to no time caring for yourself?
Could it be we are sometimes afraid to be seen as lazy or selfish, when all we want to do is take an hour to relax and be ourselves?
After all, If you don't take care of yourself, and make time to think about the day ahead, who's going to do it for you?
Whose living your life?
Too often, we are forced to take a backseat in our own lives: being told what to do at work, having duties and responsibilities for others, and consuming other people's ideas through various forms of media.
Now, some of that may be necessary, but no matter how much you do for your loved ones, or how hardworking you are, if you don't feel positive about the future, or if you feel that you've drifted away from who you are...is it really worth it?
Having a morning routine is a chance to take control over a small portion of your life. Everyday. Don't you deserve some uninterrupted "me-time" to think about your life, your hopes and dreams? To focus on what matters to you. Or just to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a good book or even a walk in the park?
In this episode Patrick discusses how a morning routine can generate optimism in your life, increase self-awareness and improve your mental health. It's not a bad thing to be self-centred for a moment especially if it makes you a better person.
If you're ready to make a little me-time, to slip away to a quiet room for a few minutes before the kids get up, and to build a little slice of paradise you can look forward to everyday, this is the episode for you. Listen now and get started on your perfect morning routine!
Do you trust yourself enough to plan your own future?
If you constantly feel overwhelmed in the present, why would your future any different?
There's got to be some small wins you could get today to build toward the future of your dreams. Even if you feel burnt out, ashamed about who you are, or you just know that you could be doing more with your life.
But what are those small wins? Where do we start?
After all, you're in control of yourself, aren't you? If you deserve a better life, more happiness, more money, more satisfaction, isn't it your responsibility to plan for it and go after it?
The basic act of scheduling your time: setting simple, attainable goals about where you will be and what you will do, and praising yourself for achieving them is a great way to get the ball rolling!
It only takes a few hours a month to plan for a better tomorrow. In the process you will learn to trust yourself and find the boldness to go after the future you want.
In this episode Patrick dives deeper into his theory of time management and encourages you to take control of your time, acknowledge your duties and build a better life. If you're ready to build trust with yourself, keep on top of your anxiety and start getting sh*t done, this is the episode for you. Listen now!
"Man is the only animal that refuses to be what he is," said French writer Albert Camus.
Is it possible that our thoughts and behaviours are leading us away from ourselves and into a state of poor mental health, lack of self love, and spoiling the enjoyment of life we all deserve?
Anxiety, emotional instability and depression can result from our own thinking. In some cases, we choose to think ourselves into these negative states. The good thing about that is: if we can think ourselves into negativity, we can also think ourselves out! You and you alone hold the key to improving your mental health. The first step is to identify these thought patterns and then we can work to fix them!
Wouldn't life be a lot richer and more enjoyable if you could control your anxious thoughts about the past and present and be focussed on the task at hand?
Doesn't it seem childish and shameful sometimes to be unable to control your emotional attachment to people, places and things?
Why do we always focus on the negative when we have so much to be thankful for?
We will never be perfectly mindful and at peace all the time, but our negative emotions and dissatisfaction are invitations to know ourselves better and take control of our minds.
If you are working on self-control and you've begun to see that a better life is possible for you, this episode will help you take the next step to managing anxiety, living in the now, training your emotional control and becoming grateful for the life you do have. Listen now!

@theblindcharity is a young woman living and working in Edmonton, Canada. She joined host Patrick Strevens back in July of this year to share her story and discuss what it's like living as a blind and brain-injured woman in an abled world.
At the age of 14, Charity suffered a brain injury which left her with a greatly reduced visual field, among other neurological problems, and yet she lives a fulfilling life: independent, social, and unafraid to advocate for change.
In the second part of their conversation, Charity talks about her time as a self-described sex worker, and how she used her platform and position to build a community, advocate for change, and educate others.
Plus: how can you, as an abled person, understand and live alongside disabled people, and what does the future of the disabled living in an abled world look like?
Lastly, be sure to stick around for the end of the conversation which touches on the failing hormonal health of our time, the sinister side of female birth control, and the impossible question of abortion rights.
When building our Better Life, let's ask how can we mindfully challenge what we believe about things? (Including sex work and the disabled) and how can re-take control of our bodies from hormonal destruction?
Be sure to check out the first part of this conversation in last week's episode where Charity shared her story, and she and Patrick discussed living your values and creating your identity.
In part one of Patrick's conversation with Blind Charity, they touched on the subjects of living your values and defining your identity. But what does that really mean?
In this solo episode, Patrick offers you two ways of thinking about your values that have worked for him:
What about you would never change despite any amount of external influence?
In the the face of struggle and failure, what do you need most from yourself?
Now, his thoughts on identity may seem a little harebrained, but consider this:
If we identify as a group member, or even as a fixed definition, how can we ever hope to grow?
Be sure to check out the first part of his conversation with Charity and stay tuned for part 2!

Ashley Mielke is the Founder and CEO of The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre in Edmonton, a counselling service staffed by nearly two dozen therapists and registered psychologists who themselves have all endured grief and loss.
They believe in a holistic approach to healing, and offer talk therapy, the Grief Recovery Method, and body-based approaches such as (the miraculous) Eye Movement and Desensitization therapy (EMDR). Ashley and her team are in the process of opening their second location while offering in-person and online services, Alberta-wide, to all demographics.
Ashley’s journey to owning and operating this business began with the devastating loss of her father after his relapse into drug and alcohol addiction and eventual suicide in 2010. (Be warned that Ashley shares this story in graphic detail.) After completing the Grief Recovery Method in 2013, Ashley “felt called” to begin the Grief and Trauma Healing Centre and found her purpose in serving others.
Why do so many of us struggle with the grieving process and what can we do right now to improve this?
How does the revolutionary EMDR therapy heal those who are grieving or traumatized?
How can we all fight against today’s “distracted culture” and practice intention and awareness?
What is faith and what is intuition? And could they be the same thing?
Patrick and Ashley have a moving and enlightening conversation about all this and more.

How did Mike and Becky, having never farmed before, come to operate a sizeable farm, pumping out leafy greens regularly?
What did a $60,000 loss on a similar operation in the Philippines teach them?
How have they learned to redefine success as farmers, entrepreneurs, parents and spouses?
What can growing lettuce in the city teach us all about who we are and what’s important to us?
In this episode, Patrick talks with both Mike and Becky about their business and brand and how a lifetime of entrepreneurship and self-development continues to lead them down the path of becoming who they are.

Clayton Cuteri is host and producer of the Traveling To Consciousness podcast. Originally based in Pittsburgh, PA, he has a background in computer programming, but has since quit his job to pursue podcasting full time and journey around the world.
Travelling to Consciousness features Clayton’s raw, uncut conversations on psychedelics, meditation, spirituality, mindset & perception, and how we as humans are limited by our consciousness when interfacing with the material world—and yet there is still an entire universe within our consciousness.
Why the hell would you quit your job to start a podcast (in this economy!?)
What are some of the challenges Clayton faced in the early phases of his podcasting journey?
We didn’t talk about any of that.
Instead Patrick and Clayton dove deep on the problems of the mind and how they play out in today’s society.
Why do people seek truth and validation outside of themselves when so much can be found within?
How can you change the world?
How did Clayton use meditation to heal his trauma and fix his problematic relationship with eating?
How have institutions such as church, politics, and media hijacked humans emotional response to control and program us, and what can you do to break free?
Clayton may not be a typical entrepreneur, but he is doing the hardest work imaginable: becoming the best possible version of himself. This job is first and foremost for those of us looking to build wealth, family and legacy.
