God is going to move, God is going to act, God is going to come into your world in a big new way. What will be your response? Will you receive God, will you work with God, will you say yes to God? Will you risk it? Will you be vulnerable? Will you say yes? Will you fight for God and with God?
We all have a story about how God has impacted our lives. What Advent teaches us is that God’s impact on our lives and God’s involvement in our lives started way before we could possibly know.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Through connecting what we do here on Sunday mornings to the ways you live your daily lives at home. Whether your objective is to pass on your faith to your children, to other family members, to your neighbors, to grandkids, to people you mentor, the key is connecting church and home or more properly, coming to see your home as a key part of church.
Being a person of faith is a counter-cultural thing. Abigail teaches us that when we make a counter-cultural choice out of faith, when we make a weird choice out of faith, God is faithful to that.
