Tim explores the complexities of our faith, in what God can do and what he will do, and where we have decide what we are going to do.
"Love is the conversation we care most about, but it’s one of the things hardest to do.” This week Jono, Sharon and Michael talk about how we can engage in meaningful and healthy conversations and how to love through disagreements.
This week Jono sat down with Sharon and Matt and had a very honest conversation about self worth, mental health and God’s grace. Together, they compare the strength of our self-worth when we place it in God with it’s fragility when self-worth is based upon things like work and relationships.
This week Tim sat down with Sharon and Mary and discussed how they’re hitting reset in this season. In the midst of social isolation we’re becoming acutely aware that technology cannot replace face to face connection. They discussed how we can use this time to hit reset and create new rhythms and habits that will energise us and allow us to have the connections we need.
Jono, Tim and Sharon chat about how Jesus was a friend of sinners. Our culture has been having an interesting conversation around sin – not that people use that little 3 letter word. But as a nation over the past week we certainly had a conversation around sin, judgment and mercy. This Sunday we are going to explore what Jesus might have to say about sin, judgment and labelling.
This week Jono sat down with Sharon and a special guest and discussed the Promise of Easter. They look at John 10:10 which says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”. Together they chat about what this verse means and how it looks across 3 different generations.
This week Jono sat down with Tim and Sharon and discussed the topic of ‘Letting Go’.
They discussed how we need control to achieve purpose and express our creativity, skill and ability. When we feel out of control of our normal lives we can feel low, tired, unmotivated and can just shut down as a response. Tim shares some stories of how through letting go he was able to lean on God in times where his life felt out of control. Tim gives us the key lessons he learned from hardship and how he was able to recover normalcy.
Sharon shares how the stories of her grandfather’s experiences during the Great Depression taught her resilience and brought her hope during her own hardships. She reminds us that, “People have survived complex and difficult seasons before and there is a life after the complexity”.
This week Jono sat down with Sharon and Liz to chat about how to cope in a crisis and the importance of acknowledging grief and sadness. Liz and Sharon bring some practical tools to help you figure out this crazy season. They discussed how creating rhythms and habits in seasons of crisis bring peace to the soul.

Don't let fear stop the love of God from flowing. In this season of fear and uncertainty, God asks us to still extend love, to not disconnect from community, but to love anyway.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and Love your neighbour as yourself." Unless we truly love God and love others in all that we do, we aren't really living. How are you going to put Love into action, through giving and serving? By stopping for the one like the samaritan did? Listen the podcast to hear from Sharon how we can love God and love others.
If we’re honest, many of us tend to serve just to please others or perhaps to prove something to ourselves or other people. But if we are to serve without insecurity or arrogance, we must first understand our identity and our purpose.
Jesus wants us to be free to serve.
Our Vision series for 2020 kicked off with a message on giving. Do you want to make a difference, an impact, a change in the lives of our neighbours. God calls us to love our neighbours through sacrifice and giving. Making a difference can really be so simple.
Tim continued our series looking at the story of Joseph
He shared with us how dreams will rarely unwrap the way we expect, but still the importance holding onto the dreams that God gives us.

Jono started our new series By Design. He spoke about how to use different filers to view our dreams and discern if they are of us or of God.

We ended our Christmas Series this week with Jono bringing us a message about the greatest gift that was ever given and how to extend more grace to others this season.
Taking time to reflect and have a spirit of gratefulness is so important. This is a great time of year to reflect, and Pastor Tim reminded us of the many things we have to be grateful for.

Jono spoke about how your struggle can become your superpower & that through community we can use our struggles to help others. Jono was joined by Alex and Ebony two of our wonderful youth leaders who shared their own journeys with struggles.
The fear of rejection is looking at the gap of who we are not, rather than who we are. Our identity is Christ is what helps us to build resilience through rejection, because our identity is in the Father, not in what others think or say about us.
How do we build resilience in the next generation? Jono O'Neill started our new series with a great message on preparing rather than protecting the next generation. To teach them resilience in the every day of life.
The final week of our Irresistible Church Series, Tim spoke on our 5th core value Grace, the divine mandate GO and make disciples. We celebrated with the Dedications of Jack and Wyatt & baptisms of April, Nigel & Charlie.
Week 3 of our series The Irresistible Church, Tim focused on the value of gathering and the fellowship of differents.
Week 2 of our series The Irresistible Church and Tim talked about serving via our gifts and generosity. Ephesians 4:16 says "From him the whole body joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Each of us has gifts that God has given us and as the body of Christ, the Church, we bring our gifts together to grow and build in love together.

How will you deal with grief? This week Jono O'Neill explored how Job and Martha dealt with the grief in their lives. They learnt that out of heartache and loss; God can and will bring life and growth.
Sometimes in life to go forward, we must go back. Andrew Hill teaches us that Jesus will reveal past hurts and baggage that we must work through with Jesus in order to become more of the person God created us to be.
Jono brought us a message around Proverbs 4:23 - “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”
He challenged us to make time everyday this month to sit with God for 5-10 mins each day and reflect on our emotionally wellbeing.
Eternity with Christ means we are never alone, we get to go through the highs and lows of life with God by our side. Life often seems lonely, but with eternity set in our hearts we get to experience the fullness of the Kingdom of God in our everyday.
When we come into the presence of Jesus we often become aware of our dysfunction and sin. Instead of trying to hide the baggage, Jesus says "do not be afraid". He sees us fully and wholly and does not want out shame to get in the way of our relationship with him. In him we find grave love and forgiveness.
Living in the valleys of life we can often find ourselves hearing without understanding and being spiritually and metaphorically blind. We need to climb mountains to be awakened by God. God wants us to truly open our eyes and hearts to see, hear and receive him. So that we can come down from the mountains with God and live our lives awakened in the valleys of the everyday.
GIANTS OF FAITH: The last week of the Lanterns of Grace, Jono summed up the main themes of this series Kingdom Thinking, Biblical Community & Missional Engagement. Also looking at modern day examples of Giants of Faith and how to look out for them in our everyday life.
Marcy Paynter from Gateway Church shares how the kingdom of heaven is present right here and now, we simply need to open our eyes to see it. She unpacks some of the parables of Jesus and gives them modern day equivalents we can all relate to. She is a phenomenal creative who shares the love of Jesus anywhere she can.
The entirety of our faith can be summed up in four words. Love God, Love people. God has opened doors for us to walk through to deliver the love of God. The soil is fertile, we often just keen trying to sow inot hard soil, trying to get through doors that are closed. But God has open spaces ready for us, where are the open doors in your world? We encourage you to pray that God would show you where the open doors are.

Maybe we need to navigate unchartered territory… and Just LOVE. Love will always inconvenience us, it's not fluffy and pretty, but is hard work. But seeing the love of Jesus come and seek and save the lost is always worth it. Love costs us, but salvation makes it worth it.
Once upon a time there was a version of our faith that was practically . . . irresistible. But that was then. Today we preach, teach, write, and communicate as if nothing has changed. As if “The Bible says it,” still settles it. It’s time to hit pause on much of what we’re doing and consider the faith modeled by our first-century brothers and sisters who had no official Bible, no status, and humanly speaking, little chance of survival. What did they know that we don’t? What made their faith so compelling, so defensible, so irresistible?
Guest Speaker Oscar Muriu spoke on the three lies that satan will try to tell us and how God can help us to see the truth and be his light in the world.
The most valuable treasure we can pass onto our children is possessing a foundation upon which we to base our lives and that can withstand the test of time – something that will support us through every phase of living: adolescence, young adulthood, middle age, old age, marriage crises, energy crises, financial crises, children’s crises. A foundations which will work in a rapidly changing society in which spiritual values are swiftly eroding.
This is the greatest gift we can give to our children.
Most parents seperate love from discipline and think discipline = punishment. Punishment is maybe 5 - 10% of discipline. The first step to having a well disciplined child is making a child feel loved.
Like steam in a kettle, anger must come out some way. Children only have two ways to let off steam verbally or with their behaviour. Both ways make it difficult for a parent to know how to respond properly. One of our greatest responsibilities as a parent isn’t to simply respond to anger but to train our children in how to handle anger.
As a parent you are entrusted by God to shepherd and love your child unconditionally. But how do you do that?
Celebrating our 25th Birthday as a church we looked at the stories of transformation that have happened within our church.
God has power to unify particularly when there is a threat to seperate and for division to arise. How does he do this?
“You can’t be a Christian unless you believe in miracles, because the only way you became a Christian was by the greatest miracle of all.”
The greatest single cause of atheism today is Christians who honour God with their lips and then walk straight out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. The unbelieving world finds this difficult. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we become like him. The more we become like him the more we see God working through us. The more others see God working in us the more they see God.
Why do we go to Church? Is it the people, the community, the coffee? Or are we drawn out of desire and conviction of Christs love for his bride.
