We live in cycles, life moves in seasons and we feel in waves. You can easily end up in a washing machine of big feels and overwhelm....unless? Unless of course, you anchor yourself to a point on the horizon.
That point being the person you want to be.... HAZAAAAAH!
She's all sorts of fired up in this weeks ep. We are not mucking around and this one is for EVERYONE!

Having standards, boundaries, values and bottom lines are essential if you want to surround yourself with good people, and also be good to other people. What happens if you don't meet someone else's expectations?
What happens if someone else doesn't meet yours?
Short and sweet episode to break the Simply Complicated drought today, Plus we're figuring out a new platform but here's to showing up in your ears a whole lot more. Maybe even every week?
I really need to sort out the transitions but we are LIVE and that's what matters :) Thank you so much for being here.

The way that society praises a pregnant body but shames a post baby bod is as twisted as it gets. This week is your invitation to question the stories that are keeping you supressed, feeling less and living in accordance to archaic ideals.
We say OUT with body shame and IN with self expression.
We say OUT with the post baby bounce back and IN with a sensual new self.
We say OUT with anti age ideals and IN with whatever you feel embraces the skin your in.
There is a call to action for each and every listener and I am serious when I say I want to be tagged in your stories and updated in my DMs.
Be YOU. For YOU. As YOU and that's going to look how it looks.
Go off sis.... xox
@katieford.com.au
As a passionate single-tasker, celebrating the closing of a chapter and stepping into a new one marks a return of the pod after an unintentional 3-month hiatus.
The update no one asked for but one filled with insider goss nonetheless. I'm not here for the hustle. I want to encourage you to conserve your energy, channel it to what's most essential and play the cards as you see them. Aligned action all the way.
What do you do when you are clear on what you want, honour what you need to do, and take inspired steps towards it but hope for something you cannot see?
This makes my heart happy. If you believe in magic and mystery and a power higher than us... you will dig this one too.
Let me know :)
@katieford.com.au
We have 60-70,000 thoughts a day. Most of them are repetitious, and we know all thoughts are real, but not all thoughts are true.
Seeing that our brain doesn't care if we are happy, it only cares if we are doing what it knows - why do we let our worst thoughts stop us?
There is another way!
Let me know your thoughts because this was one of those HOLY SH*T moments for me. I hope it opens the door for you too.

Do you love time alone? Do you fear it? Are you craving more? It's a topic that divides circles. Driven by a conversation on the weekend that reminded me how polarising it can be for others if you actually enjoy your own company. The shock and horror - haha.
From doing anything to avoid my thoughts to now carving time out to revel in my solitude, I understand both ends of the spectrum, so let's get curious.
What's your relationship to time alone? Does that feel good to you? If not, do you know how to change it?
There's quite a bit of spicy language in this one - a little heads up ;)

From the day we are born, we are figuring out ways to survive in this world. We carry them with us through life because they work to keep us safe...until they don't. One area I've been looking at is our go-to response for navigating uncomfortable experiences.
The big four. Fight, Flight, Freeze or Fawn.
Join me as we look at how each presents, what they mean and how to use them to open the door to a better understanding of who you are.
Big feelings never need fixing around here, but they sure are the gatekeepers to what steers our ship.

The final episode of Simply Complicated is HERE. 3 years of conversations and changes on this channel and it was time to close it out.
We find ourselves faced with dozens of decisions every day. Hundreds probably but let's talk about the BIG ones. A big life choice can cause you to spin on your axis. It can bring up all sorts of feels that you didn't even consider. It doesn't make what's right, wrong... it makes you human.
This ep was more about reassurance than giving you the tools to figure it out. No one knows what's best for you, except you BUT it often helps to know that the process can also look like a dog's breakfast. That fact is A-OK.
The saying is 'Time heals'. Hmmmm. Does it though? What's your relationship to TIME?
If you are in the trenches, in a deep pit of heavy feelings or navigating a season that sucks, you probably heard this phrase. I get it, but I'm not buying it. Time does many things but miraculously healing all isn't one of them.
Join us for the penultimate episode of Simply Complicated, I am so grateful to have shared this space with you.

ENERGY ARCHEOLOGIST Ashley Stinson sees the body and the way we're made up like no one I have ever witnessed or spoken to.
Those aches pains and physical symptoms? All messages. Did you know that there are 6 realms of energy within the body? Nope? Me either. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Wise, gentle and the creatrix of Energy Archeology, I know you are going to be blown away just as I was.

Floored I was. Floored when I came across this particular quote on Instagram yesterday. How often do you reflect on your choices within your life? What will it take to have you make the changes that will add more life to your days? Are you thrilled to bits with the life you're living? The people you're surrounding yourself with or the people you offer your heart to?
This question and this conversation may be the proverbial wet fish to the face that gives you the push to unleash radical action on your life.
It's a BANGER!!!! Love when that happens.
@katieford.com.au
Bek is one of those people that adds value to your life every time she enters it. Vulnerable and brave. Smart and Sassy. Wild and oh so wise. There is so much misinformation out there about the herpes virus thanks to bad jokes and fear-mongering. The stigma that often comes attached to a positive herpes diagnosis is far worse than the skin condition itself and when Bek found herself a slave to 'her story', she set about taking her power back and changed the game. She spoke up.
Grateful for brave people having hard conversations everywhere and here's to us and this podcast having more of them. This podcast and the work Bek does is not just about the virus, it's about empowering people to find personal freedom.
If you know someone who tests positive for the herpes virus please share this podcast with them so that they can know that it's super common, not a big deal but the impact it has on your life has more to do with 'what you make it mean' than the virus itself.
@bekantonucci
Mate, there is absolutely no shame in my game when I say that I am super triggered by Valentine's Day. The second all the gift ideas start rolling through my feed and inbox, my chest gets tight. I know why, I do the work around it but it may not be because of the reason you think. I actually love Valentine's Day. I love it so much but there's also grief there and that's A-OK.
How do you feel about V-Day? Perhaps there's another day that feels loaded for you? Have you ever thought about it? Do you know how to do the work around it?
LET'S DIVE IN! I got you covered friend.
Acceptance? Letting Go? Surrender? Same trains - slightly different stations. What do you do when 'letting go' doesn't feel how you thought it would? Or when the act of 'acceptance' leaves you feeling like you're stuck or giving up?
LET'S EXPLORE!
I really think you're going to enjoy this one no matter what stage you're at. Let's get curious.
Clare Reilly is passionate about wellness and living a simple + wholesome life, but is also living with a chronic illness known as MS, or Multiple Sclerosis. This autoimmune disease is no joke and while some suffer in silence, others' pain and hurdles are visible to the world. That hasn't stopped Clare and her passion to create community. I learned a lot in this weeks ep including
How to support those who are struggling
What not to say to someone with a diagnosis
What actually is MS, how differently it presents for each individual and so much more.
You can find Clare on insta @clare.reilly and also on her Podcast MS Understood which is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to understand or connect with those who also share an MS diagnosis.
Nothing says welcome to a fresh new year like a bit of personal reflection. I am all about it tbh, but what happens when you start comparing versions of yourself and achievements of past years? It's a slippery slope my friend but it need not lend itself to a complete unraveling.
In this episode, I dive into my own personal reflections, harsh judgments on my output levels, why I'm actually ok with things, and how I got there.
Plus I pose four questions or prompts for you to lean into and reflect on for when you find yourself with a case of comparisonitis for the you that you used to be. SPOILER ALERT // No matter how great that version of you was, there's a reason you're different or things are different today. I for one am so glad you're here. 2022 let's rumble!

Taylah Gray is not only kickin' ass, she's taking names. On the day that Taylah was signed on as an official and registered lawyer, she took to the socials stating the injustice that our Nations First People within the education system. This is where I first found Taylah and have been listening to her words and supporting her work ever since.
Making moves from failing her exams in year 12 to graduating Law at Newcastle University, to fronting protests for Black Lives Matter, to writing PhDs on Native Title and working towards a treaty where we can all use the land together, working together and living alongside each other. Supporting each other. Now that is a pathway I believe in as well.

Theres a stigma around medication for support in the Mental Health realm. Partly because of decades of overprescribed pills, or meds that didn't quite add up. That’s fair… however there's has been amazing progress in that area and when deemed necessary by a qualified health professional the positive impacts can be life changing. That is why I wanted to open up the conversation about it today.
I know how beneficial the right treatment can be when paired with the right wellness aspects by a trusted medical professional and the will of an individual. I'm living proof of this every day so let's normalise a whole bunch of ways to be supported within your lifestyle and your Mental Health.
Please feel free to share with someone who you know is up against this and needs to know it's OK to support yourself in a bunch of different ways. I got you.
I didn’t fail by opting to also support myself in this way, I won, and everyday I get to live the way I do I keep winning. That’s not up for debate.
I got you. @ktdean.com.au

What happens when you have journaled your heart out, read all the books, attended all the workshops, meditated for hours of your life and you still find yourself ‘in it’?
Welcome to the human experience. There’s no magic pass. No exemption and no ‘one and done’ thing that we can do to avoid ever coming face to face with the uncomfortableness of being human. What I do have for you is that no-one is immune to lifes trenches occasionally. I got you.
Healing happens when stories are shared in safe spaces. This I know for sure and some Amy Molloy has made a career out of living by and through and supporting others to do the same. In this ep. we dive into some juicy, juicy topics like; Why small talk is out. When is it ok to share and why it's important to do the inner work first. Why you don't need to be an expert to make a difference. Why sharing your story is so powerful and so, so much more. This is an episode for everyone, and especially powerful for those who are healing in a world that feels heavy. We've got you! Amy Molloy also has a new offering coming out that supports your book-writing dreams and all the details are within. You can also find Amy at www.amymolloy.com.au @amy_molloy
It can all feel a bit too much. You can get lost in the restrictions, the repetition, and the 'constant' of it all. That fire, your spirit, your spark? She's still in there and this week, I want to talk to you about it. I also want you to make me a promise. Deal?

To act or not to act, that is the question. There is nothing quite like the emotional flood that comes when our system is activated. The rush of 'feelings'. The anger, hurt, or stomach-churning dread. The need to fix, control, spit venom or retreat to 'pass the buck' on feeling the way you' re feeling. The desire to feel anything different. I gotcha friend.
The wound that caused the hurt was most likely not your fault, but what happens now is entirely in your hands. There's magic in the moments that follow an emotional flood and if you're here, I'd say you're ready for it.

We were often raised to believe that FEAR means avoid at all costs. That’s great when you’re 5, but as an adult the things that scare us don’t often mean harm. They are doorways to big opportunities and GROWTH!

Learning how to feel something and NOT JUMP is a huge skill set. If you want to change a pattern, you change the way you respond. Just because your body signals something, it doesn't mean it's in your best interests or you need to 'fix it'. In this episode I real time walk you through an instance where I didn't do what my system was telling me. Just so you know... I still haven't. One thing we are guaranteed to move through in this lifetime is Grief. It's inevitable. We lose loved ones, we grieve relationships and we are forced to let go of dreams, abilities and most things we hold dear at some point. While grief can take you out at the knees, it can also teach you things if you let it. It also has the capacity to move you in completely different directions.
Introducing Hannah Chisek. The creatrix behind Mayclay ceramics. In this episode Han shares her very personal journey with grief, healing and the way she is moving through it. So grateful for your openness in sharing with us and making these conversations on important topics more accessible to us.

Living your life in a constant state of trying to avoid the thing that scares you is exhausting. I know it well. At first it feels like you are creating ways to limit uncertainty and fear. Before you know it you've built a prison meshed in by 'must do's', rules to follow and things to avoid in order to feel safe. There is a different way to be and steps to support you in changing your experience.
Your fears don't need to be a prison sentence.

Ewww. Jealousy. It's got to be up there with one of the worst feelings to embody. It comes from a place of lack, it feels ugly, it's usually directed at someone else and it's full low vibe territory.
We're human though. Sometimes we don't get what we want. Sometimes someone else gets to play with our 'toys' and we don't always like the way things appear to us. Jealousy is layered. It's about the reality of a situation, plus what we are having the situation mean and also what we are having a situation mean about us. L.A.Y.E.R.E.D.
Let's have a look at ways through, around and together take few different spins around the dancefloor when the tune of Jealousy is blaring through your life's speakers. I get it friend. Feeling jealous sucks big time.

I can probably name at least 5 people who dislike me a lot. They may even hate me. That's totally ok. An emotional trigger is anything — including memories, experiences, or events — that sparks an intense emotional reaction, regardless of your current mood. Think full body experience that has the capacity to knock you off your feet. It's a flooding of your system so to speak and can easily put you into fight or flight mode. You can change the way you navigate and live alongside your emotional sensitivities and experiences. They are part of the human experience after all. I've navigated thousands of them in my time, and through understanding them I now have a far gentler experience with them. In this episode we walk through how to live alongside them them in the moment and also how to deep dive into healing them when that feels right also.

If you have ever tried to do anything new at some point you would have experienced resistance. It’s a drag for reals.
No one loves it but it doesn’t have to derail you. Oh and there’s no cure for it so throw that out the window. What I do have here for you is a little insight as to why we experience it and how to work alongside it. It’s actually a really sweet notion as to why we get it, but we say NO. No to the resistance. Instead we say onwards. And so it is… #firedup

If you're human you would be familiar with the hot loneliness that comes around occasionally. It's an ache, a longing and a real soul drainer if you sit in it for too long. Being alone and being lonely are two very different things. I know what it's like to be petrified of your own thoughts. I know what it's like to long for something that you have no control over. The best thing about having experienced them both is that I know what it takes to not only make peace with your present but to co create a future that is full to the brim of your YOU-NESS.

Self-sabotage refers to behaviors or thought patterns that hold you back and prevent you from doing what you want to do. BOUNDARIES. Boundaries aren’t put in place to hurt or offend anyone else, they are there to protect your peace.
I've broken them down into 8 steps for you plus examples of where you could benefit from them, how to hold them and how to overcome your resistance to them.
Every one of your friends could be shouting with jazz hands at you with suggestions of where you need some, but until you’re ready to address lè resistance, you won’t do it.
Boundaries also don't need to involve another person, they can be just for you because your peace is worth whatever it takes.
SEASON 3 IS HERE!

Break ups are never easy. Divorces are even harder and then add a divorce or break up with children involved and you've got the whole kit and kaboodle. I am no specialist in this area, but I know what it's like to feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, that every decision you make has to be the right one and the fear of what the 'unknown' means for the most important people in your world. Your children.
I have had this conversation 3 or 4 times over the past few weeks so I know it's important. If you know someone who needs to hear this pass it on and do your sista's a solid.
