We don’t want to just gather a crowd or “do church.” We’re on mission to multiply disciples of Jesus – real people experiencing the life of Jesus and being changed by Him. We dream of the life of Jesus spreading throughout the West End into pockets of people, into businesses and schools, into neighborhoods and networks. We envision people experiencing the life of Jesus as His light spreads throughout the West End of Council Bluffs.
This week Chuck talks about the reason the good news of the gospel is so good is because the bad news is so bad! Genesis 8 shows us that God’s judgment is horrific…but His grace is beautiful!

In 1 Peter 2:11-12 we are once again called sojourners and exiles. This week Kinnon attempts to explain how we can live as such for God's Glory.
Chuck preaches through 1 Peter 2:4-10 on our call to be a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for His own possession.
In 1 Peter Chapter 2 Peter urges us to long for pure spiritual milk so that we may grow up into salvation. Kinnon preaches on how we do that and what that looks like according to Peter.
Chuck continues are study in 1 Peter. We are different to live different, because Jesus makes a difference.
Today we start a new series through 1 Peter. Kinnon begins by explaining that we are born again for His glory!

Psalm 19 is a Psalm of praise in which the author is pointing us to the glory of God! We see God's glory in creation, in His word, in His redeemed people, and most clearly through the person and work of Jesus Christ. What is your response when confronted with His Glory?
Pastor Ricky from Citylight South Lincoln filled in the pulpit this morning to open up Psalm 51, tell us the story behind it, teach on repentance, and ultimately point us to Jesus. “For us to repent we need to see our sin for what it is, for how God sees it and we must know that repentance and forgiveness isn’t based on us- it’s based on WHO God is. He is quick to forgive, He endlessly compassionate and good… So much so that He sent His son Jesus to die for us so that our sins could be forgiven!”
We begin our Summer in the Psalms series with Psalm 126. Chuck looks at how our past joys can inform our future hope.

As Jonah goes down into the belly of the fish in Jonah 1:17-2:10 we are reminded that God pursues us even at our lowest. As God pursues, He mercifully disciplines and always hears us!

In Matthew 27 Jesus died on the cross. It's a story that most of us have heard before. In today's sermon Kinnon unpacks the question of Why? "Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sin, so that we could experience relationship with Him, for the purpose of His own glory!"
Rob Storey opens up Matthew 27. In the story of Jesus and Barabbas we are confronted with a choice. We can not remain neutral when it comes to Jesus. We must make a choice
In Matthew 26 Peter falls asleep while praying, attacks a man arresting Jesus, and denies he knows Jesus 3 times. All of this happens after he proclaims his fidelity and faithfulness to Jesus. Kinnon walks through Peter's "not my night" kinda night and gives us hope that because the crucifixion is not the end of Jesus story, Peter's denial isn't the end of his, and our sin is not the end of ours.
In Matthew 26:1-16 we see two very different responses to Jesus. An outpouring of gratitude and a betrayal. This Sunday Chuck unpacks these responses and asks all of us too see Jesus as beautiful
Beginning in Colossians 4:2-4 Chuck talks about how prayer helps us be WITH Jesus and LIKE Jesus. Prayer is more than a practice, it's an orientation. Prayer is a posture of dependance on God.
Beginning in Luke 5, Kinnon walks through scripture and explains how spending time quiet and alone before God helps us be WITH Jesus and be LIKE Jesus. "Being alone and quiet before God not only helps us hear God's voice, but it gives space for those truths to sink deeply into our hearts."
This week Chuck shows us how Fasting helps us be WITH Jesus and LIKE Jesus from Matthew 9:14-17. The reward of fasting is we get more of God!
Starting with Colossians 3:16 - Kinnon discusses why we sing, why we gather, and why we sing when we gather.
This week Chuck preaches through 1 Peter 4:8-11. Disciples of Jesus love earnestly, show hospitality, and serve one another.
Kinnon and our City Groups Director Jordan open Exodus 20 to discuss how adhering to the Sabbath helps us be with Jesus and be like Jesus.
