The Armenia NT held 2 meaningless friendly matches against Kosovo and Albania respectively. Roman Berezovsky took the helm as interim manager and called up a mixed bag that included way too many usual faces and a solid group of youngsters who sat on the bench while the old guys went out there and made fools of themselves. Were there bright sides? Sure? I guess? Listen to the episode and find out!

The UEFA Nations League kicked off this week and Armenia started with a superb team effort against Ireland that resulted in a 1-0 win from a beautiful long range strike from Eduard Spertsyan. Things got a little frustrating Wednesday evening in Glasgow as Armenia suffered a 2-0 loss to a very strong Scottish side. Two first half headers were the difference and although Armenia played a great second half there was no real danger. The boys break down the mathces and give their thoughts on what went wrong in this special quick take edition of FK!
It was an unfortunate result but we move forward! Armenia travel to Ukraine on Saturday then back in Yerevan for another shot at Scotland.

After a great team performance and a professional 1-0 win over Montenegro at home in Yerevan, the Armenia NT traveled to Oslo and got absolutely obliterated by Norway in a record 9-0 defeat. The team tries to dissect how a manager that got us promoted to League B in UEFA Nations League managed to get the biggest stain in his, and our, career. NT woes were not any better at the u21 and u19 level as they got smacked left and right as well. All around worst NT break ever, hands down. The team is joined by Thomas from the Bryant & Me Podcast to discuss our new boy Lucas Zelarayan, who has made the commitment to join Armenia and is in the squad for the October matches. Armenia travel to Iceland first on Friday where 3 points are the minimum required before flying to Bucharest to take on direct rivals Romania. But before anything we must focus on the first match. Armenia will be without 2 crucial defenders and have to somehow pull off back to back wins away from home in order to keep the dream alive. This is going to be tough...

Well.... that kinda sucked. Armenia's FIFA World Cup Qualifying campaign took a punch to the face last week after a lethargic 0-0 draw at N. Macedonia, an absolute demolishing 0-6 in Germany, and a ridiculous 1-1 draw at home to Lichtenstein. Despite the awful results Armenia are still second in the group. The big question on everyones mind is WHAT WENT WRONG? We break it down to 4 digestible points and discuss what needs to happen to avoid an embarrassing downfall next month. Alashkert will present Armenia in European Competition beginning this Tuesday (We were saying Thursday in the episode, my bad g). We discuss their odds and provide a short preview for the trip to Israel. We also dive into the Armenia WNT, who kick off their WCQ campaign this week. A lot to cover as always!

Armenia remain top of Group J in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after the least exciting 0-0 draw in recent memory. With the suspension of three key players, Caparros set out a side with a plan! That plan didn't work out, but luckily for us, neither did the North Macedonians! An event to forget. Now we turn our attention to the might Germans, who came off the back of a 2-0 win at home to Liechtenstein. A result for Armenia away could make all the difference as we turn to the back half of national team matches. Can Armenia pull something off? Our assessment here.

(queue Super Smash Bros. Melee menu music) WOW is it September already? It's time to turn our attention back to the Armenia National team in a set of pivotal FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches that will make or break the Armenian legend. Joaquin Caparros called up the squad he feels is best prepared to take on the monstrous challenge of defeating Macedonia, Germany and Liechtenstein. First, we discuss the opps and in what shape they are coming into this match, then we try to channel our inner Don Joaquin and predict the lineup and tactical approach. Obviously these guys are the ARCH RIVALS and a win here will continue the iconic journey of the national team. Armenia has given us reasons to cheer before in the past, but proceeded to let us down. This one feels different. With Caparros at the helm, Mkhitaryan back in the squad, this will be the best shot at qualifying for the coveted FIFA World Cup in Qatar next year. Join us on this journey as we preview Armenia v Macedonia!

Alashkert made history when they defeated Kairat 3-2 in extra time last week to become the first Armenian club to qualify for European Competition Group Stage. Alashkert are now guaranteed a place in the UEFA Conference League. But first they must face Scottish giants Rangers. Lead by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, Rangers are at the top of their game and now look to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat in the Champions League by Malmo. The winner of the tie advances to the Europa League Group Stage, the loser to the Conference League. Either way, Alashkert have made Armenian football history so we are happy. Every year during the month of April, Armenians from all over the world mourn and reflect on the events that occurred in 1915. The Armenian genocide was the systematic killing and deportation of Armenians by the Turks of the Ottoman Empire. In 1915, during WWI, leaders of the Turkish government set in motion a plan to expel and massacre Armenians. By the early 1920s, when the massacres and deportations finally ended, 1.5 million Armenians were dead, with many more forcibly removed from the country. These events are what coined the term genocide: a premeditated and systematic campaign to exterminate an entire people. However, the Turkish government still does not acknowledge these events.
Today we take the time to reflect on the genocide and how it pertains to football. We discuss the Armenian Ladies' tournament success and talk about some NT player news as well as provide an updates on the Domestic League and Cup in Armenia.

Aram and Armen are left alone after what was a full house in the last episode to try and make sense of the performance from the match. Armenia had their most dominant ever match, controlling 70% of possession, 26 shots, 36 crosses, and a 1.83 xG. Liechtenstein had 0. Armenia was somehow, through some insane luck by the visitors could not get a shot on target to save our lives. It wasn't until an 83rd minute own goal from a corner that the Havakagan took the lead. Now we turn our attention to Iceland, who come off the back of a brutal 3-0 loss to favorites Russia. How will Armenia prepare? Who is dangerous for Iceland? What did I have for lunch? That and more on this episode of Football Kentron!

Armenia final product on Tuesday night was the polar opposite of their away trip to Skopje over the weekend.
