Today we talk with Tylar Melfi of the Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center in Avalon.  Tylar tells us the origin story of the Salvation Army itself and what led to the construction of its new building on South Home Avenue in Avalon.  We also talk about two events coming up - a Cook Out and Open House on Friday, August 20th from and a day of arts, food and music on September 11 called “A Dance for the World”.  The  Cook Out will be held at the building on South Home and “A Dance for the World” will take place at Avalon Park, behind the pool.  More details can be found on the Facebook page for The Salvation Army North Boroughs Worship and Service Center.  All are invited.
