This is the last teaching in this series... ending on Peter's confession of MESSIAH as Son of the Living God. I will pick back up with posting a podcast as much as possible while Mollie and I are making a transition to Phoenix Arizona...and then continue to post them there.

Ever wonder about the people in the OT that were not Hebrew? Did God intend to ignore them or what? How about now, what is about those that are not part of the church? Are there those that God is not interested in?
Many people discuss this account of Jesus walking on the water by focusing on Peter's "sinking because he took his eyes of Jesus." But is that what this is really about?
John is beheaded... and Jesus is facing a massive crowd... Ministry never ends... and for disciples, following Christ carries a heavy burden and also a huge blessing.
Jesus carries on His parables with the crowds and privately with the disciples...asking them to consider what the Kingdom of Heaven is like
Jesus suddenly changes direction with His teaching and begins to use parables. Why? What are they? What did He mean by a Sower sowing seed?
Is there a sin that is unforgivable...unpardonable? Continuing with part 2 of a discussion of Jesus' words in Matthew 12
Is there a sin that is unforgivable? Suicide? Is there something that is beyond God's will to forgive? Also, are we required to keep the Sabbath?
Is it ever okay to doubt? Have you ever doubted your faith? Does that make you an unbeliever or is it a sin?
When Jesus sends out His 12 Apostles....were there any guarantees...and what can we expect when we, as disciples, follow Jesus?
If your faith is strong enough, if it is "certain", can you make miracles happen for you? Is that how faith works?
Jesus, when faced with a question about His teaching on fasting, calls Himself "The Bridegroom" and uses an analogy about unshrunk patches and old clothes...and new wine and old wineskins. What is He talking about...and what about fasting?
What does it mean to be called to ministry? How can you know if you are called to ministry? What is it you are listening for? How will you recognize it when you hear it?
Who is Jesus....Did He ever claim to be God...in this section of Scripture, Jesus makes it crystal clear who He is
Jesus explains the cost of following Him...but then, He makes clear that He is THE LORD GOD....and the Disciples find themselves afraid and also questioning - Who Is This?!
After preaching on the mountain...Jesus begins to display the absolute authority behind His words
Jesus takes judging to the next level and makes clear that judging will be necessary because there will be very dangerous people that look just like Believers...among the Believers...that are not at all related to the Lord.
"Only God can judge me!!" I hear it all the time. "Judge not lest ye be judged!" .....Did Jesus really say that we are never to judge anyone?
Should we be fasting? Is being wealthy wrong? Are you worried about it?! lol. What does it mean to seek first His Kingdom?
How often do we do something because we hope to be recognized for it...even secretly? How often do we pray for the same reason, hoping that if we say it right, God must answer the way we want.
When Jesus spoke, He frequently referenced Hell....Was it a real place? Was it eternal? Jesus also goes on here in Matthew 5 to continue His argument that no one is saved by keeping the Law.
Are we responsible for keeping the Old Testament Law? IF so, how many and which ones? IF not, why not? What does that mean about the 10 Commandments?
What happens when THE WORD teaches His disciples Scripture...HIS own WORD....and His authority is fully endorsed by miracles
Did the disciples really have absolute faith in a random Rabbi as he strolled by their job - calling them to drop everything and follow Him?? What gave these men the ability to make such an epic decision, on the spot? What are we expected to do with this?
Could the Son of God sin? What was really going on between Jesus and Satan in the wilderness? How can we understand this in relation to our lives today?
We are going to jump out of order a little here....because I have learned something this week...and I need to share it. REST is something that requires faith.
Some of the most controversial material in the life of Jesus comes from His baptism. Why did He get baptized if He was perfect? Is there a second baptism of the Holy Spirit? What is the point of baptism?
Could Jesus have sinned?? Did He "grow up"? If so, does that mean that He was not All God? Did He disobey His parents when He stayed behind in the Temple at the age of 12?
There is NO GREATER mystery in all of creation than this....God united Himself with mankind; born in a human body. He entered our sorrow. He shared the position of the common people - His people - in order to become for them Salvation [and for all who claim His Name]
As a result of sin, the story of mankind is horrific....and were the story to end that way, how hopeless would we be....but thats not the whole story....From the start there has been a promise that has woven alongside the sin of men...and Matthew introduces us to the Promise...He has a name
"Unless a seed goes into the earth and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit" - so says Christ in John 12:24. Many people have asked me about my story...Today I want to share some of it, focusing on the ministry side...and explaining the power of this verse in my life
SUBMISSION. A word no one likes to hear? Why, because its rooted in our DNA. This is a sermon from BBC during the Kindred series on the Family.

Sometimes we find ourselves needing God to help us....to save us....and not that we need His assistance or direction, we need his complete HELP because we don't have a clue how what to do
How could suffering or affliction EVER be seen as a blessing? How could you find comfort IN IT rather than simply in the hope of escaping it? How can you be grateful to God for it?!!

This section of Psalm 119 shows some very similar language to David's Psalms and there is a great picture of God's Word as our defense.
When we see things that invade our hearts through our eyes...things that make us happy, sorrowful, fearful, etc...these things can scar our souls....the author here in this section of Psalm 119 is asking God to "scar" his heart with the Word.
How do you navigate in a place where you are a stranger? How can you endure when others are attacking you and mocking you? This section of Psalm 119 is amazing. For the author, God's Word is a "playground" and it gives the "counsel of a husband"; the "advice of a father"; "the wisdom of a friend".
Is it difficult for you to spend time in God's Word.... a "Quiet Time" .... Have you ever considered that it should be fun? There is a prescription for sin...

There seems to be such a push for a Gospel that gives us what we want. It is a desire to find teachers that will offer us anything but a Gospel of sacrifice that is based SOLELY on FAITH ALONE and not on anything that we must do, buy, or earn
So many times there are those that are in the church and yet have no interest in severing Jesus as Master. Their goal is to make for themselves a kingdom. The worst is that they promote salvation through any means other than CHRIST ALONE
Why should we trust the Bible as the Word of God? isn't it written by men? Can we trust it? Why wouldn't God just show us miracles instead? Is Scripture the highest authority? Scripture Alone
When we become Children of God - which is through Grace ALONE - then we begin a walk with Him that is also - through Grace ALONE...but, through our surrendering to Him, we are actively part of that walk.

Who do we vote for? Is Slavery Biblical? These are just some of the things talked about this week. Peter drops a seemingly impossible bomb on the people of God - HONOR THE EMPEROR..the same Emperor (NERO) that was beginning to burn Christians and feed them to lions in the arena..even if they were slaves!
This is an often referenced passage to define the role of the church as priests and to argue for priesthood of the believer. While I agree that the church, and all who are believers as part of the church, are priests in the rite of ministry to each other and our Lord...that, however, is not the focus of this passage.
Having made enormous statements about the Sovereignty of God and about our position as chosen and adopted...Peter now turns to discuss man's responsibility to be Holy
It is amazing that terms we are so often terrified to talk about in church, even though they are consistently used in God's Word, are the opening words from Peter. But when you understand his reason for choosing to open with them, it should bring you great joy!
Beginning a new study on the 2 letters written by Peter. Before jumping into 1&2 Peter, it's important to understand the character of the person that is writing. So this study will cover a survey across the Gospels and part of Acts, to know who Peter was and what kind of attitude and behaviors were evident in his life.
How much of our time in prayer is spent on ourselves? Do we bless God when we pray or do we just make requests? This is a look at the "closing words" of men who prayed for others and completely worshipped God through their words.
Have you ever been so desperate for something from God that you fell like you are going crazy?! Have you ever wanted something so bad, but you feel like God is punishing you or ignoring you? When you pray about it, should you speak out loud or keep it to yourself?

Simeon is one of only a few people that literally held the Son of God in his hands, led to him by the Holy Spirit, and then - through prayer - praised and thanked God for his salvation. Amazing!
Looking at the very first time that the word prayer appears in the Bible. Though it is Abraham that prays, he prays on behalf of a pagan king that has been sent by God Himself to request that prayer. Does God really operate that way?!
One of the most bizarre stories in the Bible. Joshua speaks to God and together they conquer an enemy through joint military tactics...the most shocking is that God responds to Joshua's leadership by pausing the sun and moon in the sky.
Many things can be seen in this last look at the prayer life of Hezekiah...does God change His mind...Is God sovereign...Does God heal every sickness....is medicine appropriate or should faith be enough....etc.
What happens when, despite the many great acts of reform and revival, Hezekiah finds his faith challenged...what do we do when it happens to us that way?? Hezekiah turns to prayer, but not just a simple prayer, one with immense power because Hezekiah calls on YHVH to defend HIS OWN honor.
What happens when someone realizes that it's time to clean house! When one man sets his heart to make a covenant with the LORD, it ends in revival and PRAYER!
How can we approach getting old? Ecclesiastes concludes with absolute frustration over the pains of growing old....but when youth and old age are considered in light of Eternity, something changes. The ultimate reason for writing Ecclesiastes: Finding joy and satisfaction in life comes from 2 things - Fearing God and Keeping His Word.
A hero is a commonly known word in our world, but what does it really mean? What truly defines a hero?
Perhaps you have heard that you should "live like you were dying"...is that true? Should a Christian live their life like there is no tomorrow and what does that look like anyway?
IF the world was yours, the result would not be what you might think. Solomon observes that it would be a place of madness, chaos, and meaninglessness. However, our LORD did not create it that way, nor has he abandoned it to that end.
Perhaps the reason that we continue to struggle with sin is not so much about idolatry as it is about our lack of fear of God. Sin is the part of the Gospel that most defines our condition and reason for fear, and yet it is frequently left out of Gospel presentations.
If the world was yours, would it be a better place?? The truth is that you could not answer this while you are alive. Solomon explores how to "finish well - a life lived in such a way that, as Paul would say; "I have fought the good fight and finished the race."
Solomon considers leaders and corruption among authorities...it could be that even if you owned the entire world, you would be forgotten like a shadow passing by. How can you make sure this doesn't happen?
If you had access to all that the world had to offer, you would still be responsible for your words. God is in Heaven, we are here under the sun and so he sees all and hears all. If we make promises to Him, we are responsible for them...and without delay.
Can politics and government ever get it right? Is there ever going to be anyone that is completely trustworthy? The truth is; even if you owned the entire world, SIN would still be in your heart...which means that Sin would Reign...and Death with it
Some of the most familiar words in scripture...."there is a time for everything"....and if all the world was yours, that 'time' is still governed by God. He is still sovereign over all creation
How do you find joy in life if death is always on it's way? What can possibly be done that is eternal, and why bother to focus on hard work if nothing lasts? Solomon's questions are similar, and the answer is in making disciples.
Sometimes when we see something that we truly desire and work hard to get it, having it is our reward...yet that very thing may very well become depressing and unfulfilling. Is anything in life of eternal value?
Solomon opens a discussion of philosophy with science and theology. Ecclesiastes is like no other book. But one thing to ask yourself, was it okay for him to experiment with all these options just because he had the opportunity?
[This is the 200th episode!] Jesus said, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul." Perhaps He had Ecclesiastes in mind when He purposed that question. Today we begin a study of Ecclesiastes - If the world was yours, what would you do with it???
In this final discussion of Evidences of our faith, the focus is on what is perhaps the most telling evidence of all: PERSECUTION. If we are truly living a godly life in Christ, the world will HATE us.
Continuing to identify evidence within us that we are different and that we belong to Christ, we are moving from Love to HATE. Today we discuss something that you should HATE, if you belong to Jesus, and that is Sin...both the Sin in the World and your own.
It is one thing to show compassion to someone that you would never even call a friend. It's another thing to show mercy to someone that you don't like at all...but it's entirely another thing to LOVE someone that is your ENEMY...that is supernatural, not something common or normal. It is evidence of the Spirit of the Living God within you.
Is there Evidence within you of what you may claim to others about who you are? We finished a study of CORE truths that we, as believers in Jesus, affirm...now we are going to look at EVIDENCE that supports our claim to have a relationship with Him. Supernatural Evidence. Things that are not learned or "done" but something within us that is not common.
Over the past weeks, Mollie and I were given the privilege or being part of something God is doing in Islamic Africa. It was also the most spiritual warfare that I personally have ever faced.
One more COREs to our faith. Grace. Can you define Grace?? If you have a definition in mind, then I would suggest that you have never truly wrestled with it. Grace is beyond our ability to understand and it is a direct affront to pride. If there is a response to the question "what is grace?" - that answer can only be "why me?"
One of the most profound things about our Christian faith. It is often confused and the truth is frequently denied regarding this pivotal fact in our Salvation. Without the Incarnation of God - YHVH/Jesus being ALL GOD and ALL MAN - there is no hope for mankind.

There are many Kings on earth, and many thrones, but does one sitting on a throne automatically establish sovereignty? How can we truly be fearless - Because HE is on the Throne AND absolutely Sovereign
Does a Living God speak? What does it mean that He is Living?! Is prayer really heard by God?
Jesus has ALWAYS been present in His creation - from start to finish - as author and perfecter, as sacrifice and victor...but at many times, He has also been PHYSICALLY present among His people.
Does God change His mind? One of the toughest times in any church has come to ours...Our pastor is being called to another church. How do we react fearlessly to change?
Contrary to what is a popular modern view, fearlessness and courage are not the same thing. In fact, Fearlessness can actually be achieved through Fear - when that fear is properly placed.
What happens when you are the only one that speaks the truth? Do you speak or not? What happens when everyone claims that what they say is the Truth?
Many people look at Acts chapter 2 for the coming of the Holy Spirit. But was that His debut? In fact, there is an amazing parallel in Numbers that almost mirrors this moment.

The Passover paints one of the most amazing pictures of the Cross and Salvation that you will find in scripture! Why is this salvation dangerous?
Many say that Jesus could not have been a substitute for sinners...that the OT never allowed for such a thing. However, that is simply not true. The OT is FULL of atonement through substitution. The issue is with the requirement of "eye for an eye" - what must a "proper" substitute for our sin be?
How were people saved in the OT? Was Jesus God of the NT and not of the OT? Was the cross ever discussed in the OT?
This WORD was made manifest - a great discussion on the Trinity and a deep wrestle with the question: WHO IS GOD?
second part of a study of the Word of God as HIS Word - from a survey approach to Psalm 119. It is DANGEROUS to See this Word as it Truly is - HIS Word.
This begins a study of the 2 Most Dangerous things we know about God. "Danger" in that lives are altered as a result of these. Many times it is painful, sometimes offensive, but always justified. These also give us the hope that we are able to be called children of God.
With the close of the book of Revelation, Jesus personally speaks again to sign His name as author and to fulfill His promises to His church. The final charge is to COME to Him because He is COMING.
As much as the discussion around the New Jerusalem hinges on whether its literal or figurative - the important thing to remember is that it is to be understood EMOTIONALLY rather than logically.
A quick look a couple more details regarding the Kingdom of Messiah and then turning to focus on Heaven and Eternity.
This is one of the more difficult areas to get our heads around, but it is in scripture so we will look at it. The truth is that much of scripture is yet to be fulfilled, and many prophets described a temple and a city that is detailed and literal, but yet to come.
[Sorry if this episode's sound quality is not 100% - didn't have a direct mic available] There is so much to take in when discussing chapter 20 of Revelation. This talk covers a large part of what to expect when Jesus the Messiah returns.
THE SECOND COMING at LAST!... but first...This is basically a two part talk...the first is a continuing discussion to clarify what was mentioned last week about Jehovah's divorce and re-marriage to Israel...then to Rev 19 and the coming of our Lord.
At last - the return of the Lord and the celebration of the Church united with Christ as a Bride and Bridegroom. There is a question though; if Israel and the Church are unique, where does Israel fit into this event? This celebration will be epic!
Jeremiah 51 outlines Babylon's final destruction. Revelation 18 gives the details. This is the last look at the Kingdom of Man in all its glory as the Glory of the LORD now fills the Earth.
In the closing of Revelation 16 "God remembers Babylon" and that is exactly what we are doing here....completing a historical look at the kingdom of man and moving into chapter 17 of Revelation to see the fall of this kingdom.
One more look at the Prosperity gospel and how it breeds the Inclusion gospel - NEITHER of which is THE Gospel. From there, we begin a study of Babylon throughout history - Beginning with the beginning in the Garden of Eden
Many people look for America in Prophecy. "Where in Revelation is the greatest Christian nation ever?" Well, what makes us so sure that we are in there? And if so, what makes us so sure that we are the good guys?
The last piece of a 4 part study of Armageddon...This is Jesus return to Mt of Olives and Jerusalem - from the point of view of Zechariah, Ezekiel, and the New Testament.
Due to keeping schedule adjusments [No study next week], this study is a little detour into an area that we will study within the next weeks - Babylon. The Prosperity Gospel is the greatest evidence that the time of Babylon is very near.
Part 3 of a continuing look at the campaign of Armageddon. The text comes from all over scripture and not just Revelation
Part 2 of a detailed look at the end time series of events, the war campaign that is called Armageddon.
The similarities between these end times and the plagues of Egypt continue. God is delivering His people and judging His enemies. But the way in which God will get this accomplished and bring glory to His name may surprise you.
The beginning of the end. The timeline resumes and John begins to see the final acts of God's judgment on the Beast and the wicked of the earth as the final 7 bowls begin to dump on the earth. It is hard to imagine that God could be this destructive..or that anyone could survive...but does that make it untrue?
One of the most gruesome passages in all of the Bible. The great war at the end of time, and the great vengeance of our Lord...when He returns to Judge the wicked and gather His people..is described in gory detail.
The great Gospel of Christ is eternal - and here it is preached by Angels and heard by the world of the Beast. God's Grace is endless. The result of hearing it is Heaven or Hell - and there is no other option.
Another Beast arises from the Earth (the previous was from the Sea). This 2 beast is a religious figure that will promote the worship of the first. But all worship of the first beast actually goes to the Dragon (Devil). It is a mock Trinity. Father Son and Spirit. Dragon Beast and False Prophet.
It is very hard to know the truth in a land of imitation. Imagine the confusion when Satan moves into the final stage of his opportunity to overthrow the Lord. This 'father of lies' will masquerade through an imitation son and his arrival will bring unbelievable miracles. But there is ONE Truth, ONE God, and ONE King - and it is HE who permits these things, until HE comes to judge all.

The 7th Trumpet is blown...and we are shown some amazing characters...And an amazing vision of the heavenly Temple...and God's plan - past present and future
This is one the most debated passages in the book. Who are these two witnesses and why does it mention a Temple when there is not one in Jerusalem today? One day all the cries for the death of religion and in particular, the death of Jesus 'the Christian God' will appear to have been achieved. But only to be followed for a spectacular resurrection and recognition of the TRUE God of Heaven.
A very unique angel stands on the earth and roars. Feeding John the scroll, He commissions him to be the Word to the nations. What an image for us - to take in the Word of God and allow it to become both bitter and sweet to us and those we share it with.
Many people look to completely allegorize the Locusts from the Abyss as false religion or nations at war. For others they are considered Demons. Who are they and what is the purpose of Satan building an army, isn't he defeated already??
Following, perhaps, the loudest proclamation of praise in the entire Bible..there is deafening silence! Then begins the END
One of the most debated and misunderstood passages in Revelation. Entire religions base there theology on it. Who are these 144,000 and who are the countless multitude around the throne? More importantly; WHO/WHAT is CENTRAL in all of this?
The Wrath of the Lamb begins. After 4 seals of terror at the hands of unbridled sinful men, and in answer to the prayers of Martyrs, the Lamb enters the Day of the Lord with terrors of His own.
The End Begins...With the arrival of 4 infamous horsemen... SENT by the Lamb breaking open the Seals that bind the scroll (deed to the Earth)
This chapter begins the process that will lead to the final days. The claiming of the Scroll and the Standing Lamb that is a Roaring Lion!

Jude concludes his letter with a celebration of God, through God, to God, For God's glory. What a mind blowing statement that Jude leaves us with. Man's Responsibility starts and finishes with God's Sovereignty
Jude strongly supports perseverance of the saints - but sometimes we don't feel that we are secure.. Jude would say that the reason is that we are not focused on others
"Only God can judge me!" Ever heard this one? What does that really mean? If you are giving God a license to judge you, then how will He do it? "A loving God would not send someone to hell." Does your opinion of something decide its reality?
"A picture is worth a thousand words." Jude uses some amazing Poetic language to paint a word picture for us. The image is of beauty on the outside and chaos and doom on the inside. How many churches today look just like this picture?
How did we get the Bible that we have? What about the writings not included? Jude addresses blaspheming authority and cites some writings that would be familiar to readers but very strange to us. Michael and Satan and Moses bones... wow.
Jude paints a clear picture of the seriousness of sexual perversion. Moving from the example of Jews, he addresses Angels and Gentiles. Jude specifically focuses on unnatural acts of sex - specifically Homosexuality. What is God's response to this? WHY has it "crept in unnoticed?"
