Welcome to another episode. This week we take a deeper look into the company we’re all well accustomed with, Netflix. Last month, it was announced that Netflix for the first time in 10 years lost subscribers to their platform, at the same time, $50B was wiped off their value as well as projecting a further loss in subscribers in Q2. It seems that despite $7.8B in Q1 net revenue which was a YoY increase of 9.83%, there’s scepticism about their long term growth and vision.
Join us as we dive into the company, how they started, how they grew and what challenges lay ahead.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve no doubt by now heard that Elon Musk, the richest man in the world will be acquiring Twitter. From going to owning a 9% stake in Twitter at the beginning of April to being invited to being on the board, rejecting the board position within days and then saying he will buy the company - thus making it private, and NOW having his $44 billion dollar offer accepted! What a rollercoaster it’s been.
In this weeks episode we discuss: - What happened between purchasing a 9% stake and making an offer that was accepted? - What does this mean for the future of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX? - How will he finance this acquisition? - What will freedom of speech look like? And much more!
This is a deal that I think we may all be affected by in some shape and form (if regulators approve the deal) and an episode you should certainly tap into.

Keeping on the adjacent theme of the metaverse and all that it brings, it’s been a wild ride this year in cryptoland, many cryptocurrencies reached ATH’s. Venezuela adopted it as a legal tender in September and have allowed its citizens to even pay their taxes using Bitcoin. The President often tweets “buy the dip”.
New York’s newly elected Mayor, Eric Adams, said he wants his first 3 pay cheques in Bitcoin. Many football players in MLS and sports stars in the US are now taking a portion of their salaries in cryptocurrency. The ability to be paid in crypto isn’t available in the UK...well, not yet, anyway.
So with all this said and is being more receptive of investing in cryptocurrencies, do you/we really believe in its value that we would allow our full/partial salary to be paid in Bitcoin/another form of cryptocurrency?

From the title of this episode, you may be thinking what does football got to do with leadership? Whether a football fan or not, many of us would have tuned into the EURO 2020 tournament at some stage, but did you see what I saw on and off the pitch?!
In this short episode I want to point out some great examples of leadership from two individuals in particular; Simon Kjaer, the Danish captain who really demonstrated what a great leader is in the time of an emergency when Christian Erikksen collapsed on the pitch. Also, Gareth Southgate, the England manager, the way he manged a number of challenges before and throughout the tournament, not to mention the way he embraced and comforted Bukayo Saka after his unfortunate penalty miss, which Gareth could resonate deeply with - he missed his penalty in the EURO 96 semi-final.
Take the lead, take flight!

In today’s society, there are a thousand and one voices that are pushing the narrative to quit you 9-5 and work for yourself. With these unprecedented times, we’ve all had a lot more time on our hands - to be either more productive by learning new skills, cleaning, tidying, DIY or tasks you’ve been putting off due to ‘lack of time’. Alternatively, we could have squandered this time by binging on Netflix day in, day out.
In this weeks episode, we discuss among ourselves:
• What have we learnt about ourselves during this time? • Are we finding we enjoy the time alone/with family or we miss the social aspect? • What’s the one thing we’ve noticed we’re missing the most? • What have we been able to do that we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to (due to lack of time)? • What new habits have we formed; good or bad? • Have we found ourselves connecting with more friends/family and appreciate technology i.e. FaceTime, WhatsApp calls etc?

In this episode, we talk about personal finance management. How we track our own finances, what works and what hasn’t but most importantly how and why did we start? Daniel is honest enough to say his wife does it better than he did and now she’s the one who does it. He also shares some fascinating tips when it comes to keeping to a budget! Pabilo stays on the theme of finance in this week’s book recommendation and outlines the key steps from ‘Money Master the Game: 7 Simple Steps to Financial Freedom’ by Tony Robbins
