Now to provide some context about myself relative as to how my podcast “The Artist Insider” came to be, I'll provide some background information about myself. Ever since I was little, I have always been incredibly curious about everything going on around me, whether it was observing my surroundings in order to get a better feel for the energy of the room or inquiring about those around me so I could better understand them as well as their story. Being such a curious person combined with doing photography this past summer took me into some interesting places that coincidentally led to crossing paths with numerous local musicians. After getting to know these artists more and more I started to catch glimpses of their perspectives and how they viewed the world as well as their own life stories. This naturally piqued my curiosity and left me wanting to know the personal legend of each one of these individuals, but without knowing how to ask such deep questions in a conversational way I laid the thought to rest for the time being. Then one day while I was working my subconscious planted the seed of an idea in my mind. This thought came to be known as The Artist Insider. It would be a podcast devoted to bringing on local artists of every sort in order to give a platform where they can share their own unique perspectives of the world. But not only this, we would dive into the meaning of life through an artist's eye, share the story of their lives, give guidance on breaking into the scene that they wished they had known from the start and encouraging others to begin making their own form of art whatever it may be. This is how my own personal brainchild, “The Artist Insider” was born.
In our debut episode of The Artist Insider, we dive into how the up-and-coming popstar came from Nigeria to the United States where he ended up deciding to chase his dreams of musical stardom. Maikéru also gives a thorough description of his own personal legend. We additionally cover topics such as overcoming social anxiety, how playing music makes him feel, tips for getting around creative block as an artist, and an array of topics dear to Maikéru.
Maikéru is currently signed by Triple Whammy Records based out of Austin, Texas.
