After a long pause, I am back for a catch-up and serving up some updates on the current cosmic weather. Amidst Eclipse season, there is a heightened sensitivity since we are navigating many things that are now obscured. For this reason, it is a time when we are having to move slowly, be patient, and use this energy to pause before rushing into change.

In this period of surrender and trusting the flow, I share some insights that have been floating to the surface and some higher truths that I have been navigating that I believe will also resonate with many.

About twenty minutes into the episode, dive back into some exclusive and un-aired content from my conversation with Bess Matassa on retrograded and how to use these periods to reflect, retreat and emerge with greater understanding about the inner working of our psyche.

I fell in love with Bess’ Numinous Cosmic Year months before inviting her to come on the podcast. To me, she offers a refreshing take on Astrology, away from the rigidity and into a life-giving territory that feels fitting for the New Age whilst drawing on sacred ancient wisdom.

Bess Matassa, PhD, is a New York-based astrology and tarot reader, teacher, and author who serves up mystical self-inquiry with a side of play, poetry, and pop music. When not busy combing the cosmos, she can be spotted sporting hot pink lipstick while wandering deserts and tropics.

In this episode, she shares her unique personal journey, finding her way back to Astrology via a quick detour during which she may have lost her pink lipstick and enchants with musings on;

  • Messages that are coming up for the collective this year,
  • New and inspiring ways to decode your own birth chart
  • Satiating your curiosity about astrology and key transits,
  • Navigating your Saturn Return and much much more!

She has generously offered a discount code for my listeners - 20% off a full astrology + tarot reading with code: STARTONIC to be enjoyed for one month, starting from the air date.

I had the chance to catch up with her, two years since we first recorded together, in a new landscape and with new ideas and insights.

In this episode, we muse on what it's like to navigate the world of today as an empath, facing your fears and working with shadow, ascension symptoms, collective enlightenment and how we practice radical self-acceptance.

Aiyah Maraka is a certified Crystal Healer and Spiritual Advisor. Her ethical crystal business Aiyah Crystals incorporates high-frequency and ethically sourced crystals into Wester-inspired designs. Certified Crystal Healer, Intuition Teacher and Soul Purpose Coach Gemma Petherbridge is back on the podcast to talk all things crystals, intention programming, intuition igniting and her brand new release - The Crystal Apothecary, a stunning coffee table book she authored, containing 75 of the world's most potent crystals, their descriptions and properties.

I was always fascinated by Gemma’s unique gift in interpreting crystals in an intuitive way and teaching others how to tap into their intuition to choose the right semi-precious stone for them (yes, even sceptics!), so her book feels like it's always been within her and it's finally here for the world to tap into this knowledge!

In this episode, we talk about how crystals support us in healing mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, which crystals are best for each energy centre of chakra,

  • 2:35 - Gemma's journey of awakening, how she discovered her clairvoyance gift and what inspired the book.
  • 15:35 - Contextualising the rise of popularity of crystals.
  • 22:45 - How to pick a crystal that resonates with us.
  • 28.30 - How to program a crystal and set an intention that it will support you with.
  • 33:25 - How to re-connect with your intuition through 3 key Chakras or energy centres.
  • 38:05 - What to except from The Crystal Apothecary.
  • 40:35 - The 4 Clairs of Intuition, monthly discovery classes with Gemma.

In today's episode and after a mini-break from the podcast, I am joined by Francesca, the founder of Wholistic Body Life. Francesca is a Holistic Health Coach, Breathwork Facilitator, Author and Speaker, working with entrepreneurs to overcome burnout, reconnect to their true self and show up leading with power and presence.

After the immense shifts we all experienced in 2020, I am grateful I got to connect with Francesca and chat more about her belief that it is our true nature to have vibrant, radiant health and that having a strong foundation of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health is the key to success in life, business and relationships.

Hearing about her experiencing burnout as a personal trainer, I knew it would resonate with many. Ultimately, we recognised that you have to sometimes breakdown to break through and in Francesca's case, chronic stress led to her creating her integrative approach to coaching.

Join me for a conversation on why mindset, nutrition, grounding bodywork and trauma release all have a role to play in how we show up in today's fast-paced world.

Natalia is the founder of London-based adaptogens brand Natalia Botanicals, which I discovered and fell in love with a few months ago.

Natalia's philosophy fuses ancient wisdom from Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine and utilises the healing properties of herbs, roots and mushrooms for healing and rebalancing the mind-body. Her story and journey towards starting her brand is also fascinating!

Ancient medicine offered Natalia a relief from years of suffering from digestive issues, anxiety and allergies after being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. This is where adaptogens came in - a simple yet powerful way to shift how you feel.

On the podcast, Natalia tells her story of taking back control of her body and how, in a fast-moving world, we can achieve optimal health by reconnecting to alternative healing modalities.

Jasmine is a Soul Plan Practitioner, Intuitive Healer & Self Love Coach based in London. We connected a few months back and when she began telling me about the ancient wisdom that is Soul Plan, I instantly felt compelled to learn more and bring her on so she could share her knowledge with all.

Jasmine had a spiritual awakening after experiencing burnout from a high-pressure job. Determined to help herself, and eventually others, find their life purpose, she discovered Soul Plan, an ancient system of life purpose analysis based on the birth name.

As soon as she read my chart, I instantly felt understood, whole and my reading reaffirmed many of the beliefs I held within me about my gifts, challenges and purpose. Such is the power of this amazing system - to guide us into understanding our soul's vibration and lead us into deeper self-knowledge so we can act out of this ultimate light within us all.

In this episode; Jasmine and I discuss how Soul Plan can help overcome negative beliefs that are holding us back, how to practice radical self acceptance and love & the spiritual practices that we can all use towards better connectivity with ourselves and others in transitional times.

When I spoke to my wonderful guest, Tree Carr, I was set on opening up the conversation around two topics that have permeated our lives for over a year now - dreams and death. The latter, so often discussed in hushed tones, reduced to numbers slapped across our screens, and in my opinion, deserved its own episode for that very reason.

I hesitated on releasing this episode but as I suffered the loss of a family member earlier this week, it felt right to share it with the world just about now.

As a certified Death Doula, Tree's work involves helping people spiritually, emotionally, existentially and practically at the end of their lives by holding space for healing, peace, support and compassion during the profound and sacred time of death and dying.

Since our discussion revolved around consciousness, I feel this episode is important and necessary. Join us on this exploration of the concept of death, where our resistance and fear towards the subject stems from and why unpacking the feelings that arise around loss are essential for our healing.

We have a long history of looking to our dreams for guidance, inspiration, spiritual connection and making sense of our waking lives and yet our modern lives seem to have disconnected us from this realm that helps us connect with our consciousness...

In part I of my conversation with my guest Tree Carr, she tells us about her work as a dream guide through which she helps people utilise dreams in self-exploration, to heal emotionally and feel empowered.

We discuss how dreams can enable deeper connectivity and understanding of our dream and waking worlds through;

  • mindfulness,
  • reflection,
  • record keeping,
  • dream plants and herbs work
  • lifestyle changes...

In a time when many people are navigating sleep troubles, this episode prompts us to expand our consciousness through the realms of dreams and aims to bring a little more magic to our lives.

I am so grateful you are here today and that I get to share an excerpt from my guest appearance on the Modern Soul Speaks podcast where together with co-hosts Gemma and Rachel, I got to delve into the big cosmic influences of 2021 and put the energetic shifts we are experiencing into context for this year and the next decade!

Aside from energetic shifts we can expect in the next decade, we dive into intuitive interpretations of the planets in astrology, how to work with the moon phases and discuss how we can turn challenges into catalysts for our growth by tuning into our intuition and the universe.

I preface the episode exclusively here with some exiting news on what's to come on the Life Tonic podcast in the next few months and what else I have been keeping busy with that I cannot wait to share with each and every one of you!

If the themes I feature in this episode resonated with you make sure you go and listen to the full-length episode I did with @modernsoulspeaks where there is plenty more wisdom we share!

Hello beautiful souls and welcome to this b-day special solo episode (first solo since season 2 opening), in which I will share 12 life lessons/wise truths I have learned so far. Instead of doing a compilation for the years I'm turning, I thought it'd resonate more if I made it 12 - for the 12 months of year, symbolic of this wild ride of a year we've had so far and 12 months as the personal cycle we all get to grow, expand and learn.

We will also look at the energetic shifts happening in the month of December and beyond, look back at how 12 months of aligning with your visions of the future and starting on your intentions today, can put you ahead as we turn the new leaf on 2021. Harnessing the power of consistency and desire with some wise thoughts and tools to inspire you to be the best you you can be. No more doubting yourself, let's exceed our own expectations instead!

In this episode, we explore Human Design, a system that uses our life blueprint to help us access our true purpose and answer our calling.

Conditioning, as we evolve in society, makes us conform, often in ways that do not align with the truest expression of our archetype according to Human Design. In this episode, Human Design coach Michelle Shepherd helps us retrace those steps and turn inward to recognise the best way to operate in the world as ourselves.

Michelle's gift lies in translating the wisdom of this system for all soulful explorers looking to understand who they came here to be.

She is the creator of the ‘Heart-centered Human Design Course’ which is designed for anyone looking to learn more about their type, learning to decode their chart and diving deep into their energetic blueprint through HD.

You might find this episode carries so much knowledge in itself that you will replay it with your chart at hand just like I did!

At age 28, Rachel started going through her Quarter-Life Funk where she was no longer vibing with her current reality and feeling anxious about her future. Her soul was beginning to awaken and she didn’t want to give up on her dreams or settle for the “okay” relationship, career and lifestyle.

Astrologically, this coincided with her Saturn Return which she describes felt like being told “honey, it’s time to get your sh together” by the team on Queer eye. Rachel certainly did get her sh* together by breaking down her life, tossing what was no longer authentically aligned with her true self, ending her long-term relationship, moving abroad to Bangkok to begin a new life and from that point on, started to manifest abundance in all forms.

In this incredibly inspiring conversation with author, podcast host and spiritual teacher Rachel Alyce, we go deep into;

  • How to deal with expectations in your 20's and 30's,
  • Turning your quarter-life crisis into the best thing that's happened to you,
  • Core manifestation principles - why your inner world is reflected in your outer,
  • & doing the inner work of healing wounds and using the power of your subconscious mind!

We dive into stories that I know will resonate with so many of you and inspire you to reprogramming old conditioning!

Rachel is now committed to helping other women to do the same, to never settle for anything less than their worth, reclaim their power, heal, grow, and manifest their dream life.

Have you heard of the Carrie Bradshaw syndrome? Maybe you haven't per se but I can guarantee you've experienced it to some degree....

In Part 1 of the conversation with mindset coach Amanda Kuda from @authenticallyamanda, we dive deep into what shapes our relationship with drinking and unpack the reasons why going alcohol-free may be the biggest power move in your personal growth journey!

Amanda tells the story of how her relationship with alcohol was keeping her from from reaching her biggest goals and being the best version of herself and how she now works with women who are ready to step into their authentic truth by changing their relationships with alcohol. Her work is fascinating for it sits at the intersection of spirituality and mindful practices in application.

How many of us would say yes to more confidence, self-belief, abundance and success in our everyday lives?

My guess is, you're with me on that one! As most modern women, I too sometimes feel crushed under the weight of my own expectations and, in an age of constant distraction, coupled with a culture of 'being busy means you're successful', I can lose vision and focus.

In this episode, I talk to clinic hypnotherapist, mindset consultant Claire Aristides who is also the founder of Mindology, the new self-hypnosis app. She is a thriving entrepreneur, a mum of two and the woman behind two businesses. As you will find out for yourself, Claire's journey proves how this goal-oriented, positive therapy can have profound effects on more than one area of your life.

Her very own creation - Mindology, is a brain-wave based coaching app which brings all the elements and techniques of self-hypnosis and visualisation into one digital platform. What I most loved about our conversation is how Claire advocates for the fact any woman has the power to thrive in her body, mind and create her dream life.

Like most women, it took Alice Pelton over a decade to realise the impact that taking hormonal contraceptives had on her emotional and mental state. In her search for the right contraception she came across a number of problems which eventually became the foundation of The Lowdown.

In this episode, Alice shares more on the driving force behind The Lowdown - namely the long term impact of different contraceptive methods, what women's experiences are with these methods and the after effects of contraception on the body and mind.

We talk about the different methods available on the market today and what the data trends are showing to attempt to answer one of the most pressing questions for women today - how are hormones affecting your body chemistry?

Alice discusses the challenges in this space as well as the evolution of the conversation around birth control thanks for trustworthy resources such as The Lowdown.

You can learn more about different methods of contraception here and anonymously review any method of contraception here.

Welcome to a bonus solo episode with your girl Joanna O! With the amount of uncertainty and negative content I have come across in recent weeks, I wanted to take the time to chat to you all and share some uplifting thoughts and ideas for those trying a) navigate the chaotic situation the world is in right now and b) work from home and implement a routine that is the 'new normal'.

In times of uncertainty, we should strive for balance, inner and outer. The inner is what you do for you in the face of adversity, and that’s what’s contagious and perpetuates collective re-balancing and positive outlook!

I think that now more than ever we are invited to remain calm and focused on your inner-peace and wellbeing. So in this episode, I muse on ways we can create those rituals, getting immersed in this new pace and new activities that make us feel grounded and happy and of course the importance of sharing those - because this is what social media is amazing for, sharing inspiration, lifting each other up virtually across the globe!

As a growing community, the Life Tonic podcast audience is here if you want to share, connect, drop a comment or DM or just chat about what's on your mind! Collectively, we can manifest positivity for ourselves but also others!

Stay safe, stay positive, together we can rise, grow and transform!

Welcome to Part II of my conversation with Myisha Battle, a professional coach and source of knowledge for all things sex and relationships!

You can listen to part I here.

In this episode, we uncover why a growing number of millennial women struggle to enter serious relationships as well as how hustle-culture is linked to hook-up culture. Does being a successful professional often mean we forget to nurture other aspects of our psyche and can women really have it all when it comes to relationships, sex and outside pressures?

Myisha also shares insight on how daily life stresses and societal and political factors can affect our sex drive and intimate lives as well as some useful resources to educate other and yourself on modern day sexuality.

About the guest:

Myisha Battle is a certified sex and dating coach, feminist and founder of Sex for Life, LLC, which is home to her sex and dating coaching practice and my sex-positive podcast Down for Whatever, which explores almost every aspect of human sexuality.

Coming into this episode, I recommend to do so with a clean slate - much like San Francisco-based Sex and Relationship coach Myisha Battle does it with her clients...by the end of this two-part episode however, you would have hopefully arrived home to yourself.

This is what is unique about Myisha's work - she explores the various sex and dating tales with her clients and takes them on a journey from self-discovery, acceptance and eventually adventure. Free of judgement or need for incessant advice, Myisha has mastered something we don't do very much as humans - to hold space and provide an external perspective to help people grow into their sexual power.

In Part I, we talk about what's 'normal' when to comes to orgasms and pleasure, getting to know your body and harnessing your power to ask for what you want, both sexually and in relationship, as well as why it’s important to date someone who isn’t your ‘type’.

We also tackle the ultimate question - are millennials the least sexually active generation?

“Thoughts are the vocabulary of the brain and feelings are the vocabulary of the body. How we think and feel becomes our state of being.”

In this episode, I try to answer what it means when our body speak to us and manifests imbalance.

I attempt to apply the tools for connecting to your inner power, heal negative behaviours, patterns and habits and let go of what no longer serves you through aligning mind and body.

In what is a slightly controversial episode topic, I open up about chronic breakouts, my experience with energy healing and what it means to go through the experience of body talk with a holistic practitioner.

I also touch on some lifestyle changes I will be implementing to bring out my most glowing self and work on the next best version of her!

I am back with a solo episode a week away from February - it’s around this time that most of us will start feeling resentful or stressed for not having met the expectations we set out for ourselves in the new year. While setting intentions is a powerful tool to align with the thoughts that you want to manifest and in this episode I discuss how we can re-align with our goals when January’s motivational buzz starts wearing off or simply when we wake up feeling slightly detached from the ‘hustle’ mentality. This episode is all about re-igniting your amazing ability to experience such different nuances in the day to day in your personal growth journey - no two days will be the same, we experience different intensities of motivation and creative consciousness and that is not directly related to how much we want to reach a goal or how much we strive to achieve. The good news here? You get 339 other shots at it from today! In episode 4 of the Life Tonic Podcast, I talked about the importance of self-reflection to awaken your inner warrior in 2020 and manifesting all your goals and how mistakes = lessons and lessons = growth. In Part II of the episode with Spiritual Advisor Aiyah Maraka of MySpiritualDiet, we talk about the self-inflicted pressure to 'hustle' and succeed we experience as millennials and allowing the natural flow of life in to prepare ourselves for what we are meant to receive. We explore the depth of anxious mentality and thoughts and how those can manifest in physical imbalance as well as navigating modern life mindfully.

In the episode, we also touch on the concept of divine timings and the paradox of why everything you want is not always what is meant for you, divine messengers and why situations can have a repetitive pattern to teach us more about ourselves.

Aiyah shares her philosophy of the 'Beauty and the Beast' living inside each one of us and why we shouldn't run away from negative feelings.
