Hosted by Juliann Frances and Alayna Henry, two punk musicians! On this podcast we aim to cover every aspect of the music and entertainment industry. And we have the occasional guest which can be anyone from the local/regional level, corporate, to household names. Our goal is to have this podcast be just the right balance of educational, fun, and entertaining.
Juliann and Alayna both graduated with a bachelors of science in Music Industry and Recording Technology from York College of PA. Alayna (aka Stacey Mahoney) is the lead singer of the punk band Violet Fire. Juliann is currently pursuing her MBA with a focus in Music Business from Southern New Hampshire University in partnership with Berklee College of Music. Juliann is the bassist in the punk bands Witch Weather and Violet Fire.

This episode was minimally edited as to be kept "raw" and Alayna and I (Juliann) took a backseat so this episode is not an interview. This episode is also being released on Independence Day (4th of July) because none of us are free until we are all free. The Continental Congress voted in favor of independence from Britain on July 2nd, 1776. In both episodes dealing with racism, we discuss how the history taught in schools is whitewashed, often called white history. It is purposely changed or framed to put America in a certain light. In 1776 America was fighting for freedom from a government that it no longer agreed with. But slavery in America started around 1619 and did not "end" until 1865. However, even though President Lincoln "abolished slavery" as we are commonly taught, it still continued in certain areas and in different forms. In addition, the institutionalized racism that was a response to the end of slavery still exists today.
