Richie Tee's 'After School Club' is broadcast live every Tuesday on www.zeroradio.co.uk between 9-11PM (UK) time.
Hi Everyone, slightly later than planned but here is last weeks show. Great show opener from Roy Ayers, classic jazz funk from Leon Ware and Marcus Miller. Brand new music from Vincent Ingala, Dee Lucas, and Lady Blackbird + we close out the show with two of the greatest songstresses to have ever lived, sadly both no longer with us - Phylis Hyman and Teena Marie. Hope you enjoy this playback session.
Here's another chance to hear Episode 200 of the 'After School Club' . This show covers so many genre's. The only similarity is the quality. We have Jazz Fusion from Jeff Lorder and Fourplay, NuSoul from Raquel Rodriguiz and Leela James. Soul music from Chaka Khan, The Emotions and Carmichael. Hip Hop from Tony, Toni, Toni and Hip Hop Jazz from The Visioneers. Tracks from Rahsaan Patterson, Hil St. Soul, Lalah Hathaway and Maysa. Jap Jazz from Hiroshima and Instrumental Jazz from Ronny Jordan. No fillers in this show, pure rhythms from start to finish. Just sit back and hit play. The shows can be heard live and exclusive on www.zeroradio.co.uk
This week I wanted to be a little different and move away from the Smooth Jazz. Whilst I still played Oli Silk and Peet Project, we started with Latin Jazz from Nicola Conte, Five Corner Quintet and The Jazzinvader and moved into a cross section from Tom Misch to Al Jarreau to V9, Spur of the Moment. Maysa, Roy Ayers, Bill Withers and PJ Morton. Even squeezed in a gospel track from Daughters of Christ. Give it a spin, I think you'll enjoy it.
Here's the latest replay recording of my weekly show 'The After School Club' . As we reflect on the sad passing in 2005 of one of the all time greats Luther Vandross who would have been 70 today, I have included no fewer than 5 of his tracks in this two hour show. We finish with his effortless vocal delivery and timeless classic - A House Is Not A Home. RIEP Mr. Vandoss, gone but never forgotten.
