The podcast where we bring in Asian creatives who are embracing their culture and how they are navigating their Asian identity in this modern world.
You know that feeling of when you try to connect to your mom, but you just can’t seem to figure it out how? We do! Our guest, JP Neang, artist and creative educator, talks about embracing vulnerability, navigating her family’s cultural expectations, and finally learning how to accept herself. We sat down and listened to her story and how she used her creativity to fully experience life! Sit back and enjoy this wonderful heartfelt episode!
Today, we chat with Alex Nguyen on how he became an Asian American creator and his film, “Ephemeral” or the Vietnamese translation “Một Thoáng Qua”. We had a great time talking about his journey as a 2nd generation Vietnamese American and how he has balanced pursuing film and making his parents proud.
We also got a chance to chat about his gift for storytelling in his film and how he’s been able to help bring nostalgia to the people who has watched his film and interacted with him. His film can be found on YouTube and has been touring around various Asian American film festivals.
Join us for our inaugural podcast in remembrance of Black April.
