Welcome to The Grace Room Podcast where we talk about all things life, community, relationships and faith. This is where we share our stories and ultimately how God shows up in our lives. The women I have on each week are honest, vulnerable, and love Jesus. My heart is to speak truth into the lives of women. No matter where you are in your faith journey I believe that you are chosen by God, holy because He says so, and dearly loved as his daughter. I want to create a safe space where we can share the doubts, and insecurities but also a space to celebrate life. So let's talk

Hi! It's Easter Week and here I am, hopping on the podcast to talk about Easter.

I also talk about the Samaritan Woman from John 4.

This is also a HUGE brain dump. Feeling very sentimental and thankful for the cross.

I hope this sparks a conversation and I hope it reminds you of how much God loves you.

I apologize in advance if this feels random and not organized - none of this was planned! HA.

Happy Easter. Jesus wants to know you and be a part of your life.

30 things I learned:

Relationships / Friendships

  1. You do not have to be friends with people who are mean to you
  2. You cannot change a person’s heart —> only God can do that
  3. Recognize patterns early on in a relationship (both within yourself and your partner) and ask yourself, “why does this keep happening”?
  4. It takes two people to make a relationship / friendship work don’t take 100% of the blame for things not working out
  5. Consistency is key - keep showing up
  6. It’s okay to let friends go - even when it hurts or even when you don’t want to let go
  7. Your circle grows smaller as you get older and that’s okay
  8. You can’t take back words already spoken - choose them wisely
  9. You do not have to go to church every weekend, but just like a marriage, if you do not come home every night, how will your marriage survive? Going to church is like going home - it’s necessary
  10. You are who you spend your time with - who do you want to become?

Faith

  1. When you are unsure - pray and when you are sure - pray some more. Invite God in
  2. God is good even when your circumstances are not
  3. God grieves with you when you are in pain —> run to him
  4. Being sad / depressed is not un-spiritual - there are psalms that express this very thing, so no, there is nothing wrong with you!
  5. Faith is a personal journey but if no one knows about your walk with Christ are you really living in God’s presence?
  6. It is better to show up in person (when possible) than sending a bible verse - be the good news in action and not only in words
  7. Be on guard when life is good - it is SO easy to think you’ve figured life out
  8. Sin hides in secret - be open and honest with a few so that they can hold you accountable
  9. Mentors and premarital counseling makes a good marriage so much easier, enjoyable, and achievable
  10. Whatever you do in this life - do it with everything you have. Work well not for the approval of others but for their good and the Glory of God

Life Hacks

  1. Save up to buy real gold jewelry - better to wait and have less than turn green
  2. Heatless curls - aka silk sausages- work! Stop killing your hair as soon as possible. Use heat for special occasions but avoid it as much as possible when it comes to day to day use
  3. Time > money but both are important. Choose where you spend both wisely
  4. Invest in therapy for both the mind and the body
  5. You only wear 20% of your wardrobe most months, do a clean out at least once a year
  6. Eat more protein (think of food as eating more of something good rather than eating less of food in general) and move your body weekly
  7. Oysters are great for your health - especially for women
  8. If you can’t travel as much as you want to, read- literature teaches and takes you places
  9. Make moments to pause and be grateful for all God has provided
  10. If you are unsure about something, put it on hold and leave. Most times you will not go back for it.

Welcome to Staying Savvy. I created this podcast to help women feel confident about their faith, connected to community, and savvy about things such as nutrition, finance, style and more. There's this misconception that being a Christian means your life is dull and boring and I just want to debunk that from the get go. I believe God has the best plans and I'm so excited to talk about all the things that life has to offer us from a biblical perspective. My name is Maya and I am SO glad you're here.

Hey guys welcome back to the Grace Room Podcast, I am so excited to introduce Morgan Pearce.   Today we are going to talk about how to operate from a place of rest in Jesus.  How to press into God’s presence and why that is so good for our souls.  We also talk about identity and the importance of placing it in God rather than in other things that will ultimately leave us wanting and disappointed.  It can be hard to trust in God’s plans but part of learning to do that is to rest in knowing WHO God is and WHAT he has done! With that said, we are wrapping up Season 1 with Morgan's episode! THANK YOU for spending time with me in this season of your life! I am humbled and honored that I get to host this podcast for the women who need community but more importantly need Jesus! Check out the website for the show notes! Link below.

Hey guys welcome back to the Grace Room podcast, I am so excited to introduce my new friend Reagan.  Reagan has an unbelievable story of redemption where time and time again has had to lean on God in the middle of doubt and fear.  Today we are going to talk about what that looks like. How to press into God’s presence and blessing when it feels like the answers are grey and vague. How to trust that God is going to come through for you, even if it’s not the answer you wanted or were expecting.  I know in my life there have been times where I have felt scared, unsure, and nervous about the future - and I’m sure I’m not the only one, and that’s why I am so excited about this conversation.  Being stuck in an in between place can feel really discouraging and my hope for this conversation is that you walk away from it feeling at peace with wherever you’re at because you will know that God is good and sees you.  With that said, here is my conversation with Reagan.

God has truly changed them both through the several years that their blog has been silent.  What started as a blog with two single girls who were still figuring out their faith is now a blog that professes the name of Jesus on the daily.  I am so excited to talk with them about how God has completely changed them from the inside out.  We will also be talking about the importance of reading your Bible, stepping into community, and allowing God to lead your steps. Hey guys I am so excited to introduce Krista Hengesh. And that’s exactly what we are talking about today.  Do you doubt what God can do in your life? Are you unsure of your future? Are you ready to be obedient in what God has asked of you? What does it look like to move towards action and carry the presence of God in you? We are meant to be a light to the world and the salt of the earth. We are meant to be different - so what does that look like? We talk about all that and more today and I cannot wait to share this conversation with you.  Let’s get into it.
