Most people starting a clothing brand spend months on Instagram strategy and zero hours figuring out why their factory just sent them 500 pairs of pants that fit like garbage. In this episode, we sit down with Nick from Threadbird — a guy who's been in the manufacturing and fulfillment world for over 20 years — and he pulls back the curtain on everything the "how to start a clothing brand" YouTube videos conveniently skip. We're talking tech packs (and why even good ones are only 80% complete), why China is almost always your best first move, the brutal reality of minimum order quantities, and the single biggest mistake new brands make that costs them months and thousands of dollars before they ever sell a single unit.Nick also drops the truth about print on demand that's going to make some people uncomfortable. And he's right. If you've ever wondered why your sample looked nothing like what you imagined, why your margins feel impossible, or how brands like Palmer actually get built from the ground up — this is the episode. No fluff. No theory. Just the stuff that actually matters.

Our new podcast will feature industry leaders, case studies, and provide overall actionable advice for store owners who are just starting up all the way to those who want to scale from six figures per year to six figures per month.
If you're not an ecommerce business and have been listening for awhile we would like to thank you for giving us your time as we know you could spend it doing anything else and your attention means so much. Thank you for sticking by our sides, we are forever grateful.
To our ecommerce businesses and store owners we are SO EXCITED for the content that will come from our new podcast, The Optimized Store Owner Show, which will be on this feed and you will NOT need to resubscribe.

Social media and in-your-face advertising only shows one side of entrepreneurship and it’s not accurate for most people who run a business.
Money is needed to grow, scale, and make an impact, but it is only one piece of the puzzle and it should be prioritized as a must-have, but not a stop at nothing metric.
The new world of entrepreneurship today is focused on something so much bigger than money, they are focused on making the world a better place and creating one where they, the business owner, fulfill their deeper purpose and help more people.
Entrepreneurs who believes that business is so much more than money, this podcast episode is for you.

Most people think…. Facebook and Etsy are a great place to sell products online but that might be the worst advice on the internet. Especially for online store owners who want to grow their business.
But I get it. Everyone says that you can sell on Facebook and Etsy already gets a ton of traffic, So it’s easy to believe.
Not everyone who sells here makes money
But let me ask you. But if that were true then everyone who sold their products on Facebook and Etsy would have super successful businesses. And we all know that’s not the case. In fact, if you keep holding this belief you could actually stunt your growth and miss out on better opportunities.
You can’t track user data or deepen the customer experience
But you know how you can actually get consistent sales and grow your online store? You build a store on Shopify, find out exactly who your target audience is, start creating content that your audience will enjoy, drive traffic to your website, then start online advertising and optimizing the traffic to your site with repeat customers.
So let me ask you. Do you really want to keep thinking Facebook and Etsy are some kind of eCommerce unicorn and risk building a store that is sustainable for long-term growth or do you want to build a store that gives your brand the ability to become the impactful store owner and achieve your sales success?
If so then you need to check out our Ecomm Accelerator Process, a proven system to help frustrated store owners become the impactful store owner and generate consistent sales in their store. Schedule a free strategy session here: https://sales.bitbranding.co/

Being first is always better…
When it comes to marketing, being first to a platform allows so many advantages that you wouldn’t have if you came later. Imagine being on Instagram and building an audience in 2010 vs 2020.
The same thing is possible if you adopt a platform like TikTok now vs when it becomes even more saturated over the next few years.
Before you jump on the platform, though, make sure you have a strategy. Even if that strategy is to explore, make sure you are tracking the metrics you deem necessary to stick around or not.
Post valuable content, and if it makes sense and is on brand for you, find a way to be fun. There are a lot of trends that start on TikTok, if your brand can benefit, take advantage. Participate in challenges, duets, and as the platform develops, any other ways that people are using the platform. Remember, TikTok created features for a reason, you should use them all if possible.
Use the right hashtags - TikTok hashtags are absolutely useful and people search this way, but more importantly, TikTok uses this to help spread your message.

What are stories? In short, for most platforms they are 15 second, slice of life style videos that disappear after 24 hours. We can all thank Snapchat for the introduction and IG for the explosion.
Stories are no longer a secondary format, a lot of people on Instagram go to stories and enjoy those more than they do the posts. Quick tip: Using IG stories actually helps you get more engagement on your posts.
Whether you are a veteran or novice when it comes to stories, we can all agree that they are going to stick around and are only growing in popularity, so it only makes sense for you, as a business, to adopt the feature.

Getting the customer is perceived as being the hardest part in business, and while it is pretty difficult sometimes, keeping them delighted is crucial. We don’t want to lie about statistics here, but it is roughly 2-3x harder (if not more) to go find a new one than it is to keep your current.
It’s all in the follow-up experience.
When someone becomes a client you have to nurture a relationship. After their purchase, follow up with questions about feedback and hear about their experience and how it could have been better.
Keep them on your email list and add value to them over time, sending offers every once and awhile.
Deepen the relationship with new layers. Moving this customer from an in-person relationship to your email list and then over to Instagram adds layers to help you deepen the relationship. Find a way to WOW them.
Do the small things that make a big impact. Small gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, just because, and hand-written notes.

There are two main ways to increase revenue from ecommerce. One is to grow your audience. The other option is to maximize conversions. Facebook is ideal for both. In this episode we’ll cover both of these ways along with different strategies you can use right now.
Video Ads When you’re starting out, the first thing you want to do is figure out your minimum viable funnel, which in short, means the least amount of steps to get a sale. A great way to get eyeballs on your product cheaply is with video. However, don’t run this as a video views campaign, optimize for viewing products or adding to cart. If you’re a smaller, or family run business, you need to create a video that tells your story. Potential customers are a lot more likely to buy when they understand your why.
Lookalike audiences When you start out or as you grow, you’re going to want to reach new audiences, but starting with cold traffic is tough. Facebook has the ability for you to create a new audience with similar characteristics of your already existing audience. Think about past purchasers, your email list, website traffic, etc. All of those could be turned into a lookalike audience and marketed to. This takes them from a cold audience to a warm-ish audience, which should be much cheaper for you.
Facebook Messenger One thing is for certain, Facebook is pushing new ways to reach audiences because they are running out of ad space, hence the reason they have moved to pushing messenger. It may also be because 1-2B people are on it. Whatever the reason, you should use it because it’s cheap and has a much higher open rate than messenger. Create a campaign or strategy around talking to your audience through messenger and offering discounts or links to go and purchase. We created a VIP list from messenger and whenever we want to offer them a special deal we can message them. Open rates are 80+% compared to 15-30% on email.
Remarketing The fortune, as they say, is in the follow-up. This is true in marketing as well. Imagine running an ad back to the person who added to their cart but didn’t purchase, that would probably be a good person to go after. To give context, 95+% of people don’t buy the first time, so you either need to send a TON of traffic to make it work, or get 20-30% of those people to come back to your site cheaply with an effective remarketing campaign.

Whether you are a new restaurant or a seasoned veteran in the space, one thing is for certain, you have to market. 10 years ago businesses could get by on sponsoring the local sports team, putting out some flyers, and having friends tell their friends. As the world gets busier and more crowded, competition rises. Which means there are more places to grab food, so having a clear and strategic plan to beat the competition.
In today’s episode we are going to break down 5 Awesome Facebook Marketing Ideas for Your Restaurant.
User generated content. This is probably the easiest and one of the most effective ways to grow your audience and engagement on social. Who writes the best copy… the customer who loves you. You’re never going to beat Susy’s family photo talking about how she had the best experience spending time with family and eating your amazing pizza.
Quizzes. A fun way to have new customers try out your place is to have them take a quiz to find out which food item they may fall in love with at your place. Think about it this way, pick your top 5 favorite dishes, and based off how they answer, they are given an item to try. To sweeten the deal, offer a free appetizer or dessert when they come in.
VIP Messenger Bot. Create a simple Facebook messenger VIP list where people who sign up can receive special discounts, get to try new menu items before they’re released, freebies, etc. Its a great way to incentivize your most loyal customers.
Make some videos, yo! Show us a slo-mo version of you preparing the best dish. The goal here is to make mouths water. A quick, 15-20 second video will do here, but make sure you add a call to action at the end of your video. Whether it’s a simple “come see us today” , “mention this video to get 25% off” or “comment below to be messaged a free appetizer” It’s completely up to you, but don’t let the great video fail.
Use Events. Depending on your restaurant you can come up with different event ideas. Live music, trivia night, holidays themed, drink specials, dance classes… these are all great ideas to create events around. The best thing is that you can create Events on Facebook to promote them. Facebook does a great job promoting events organically and you can always put some gas to the fire by using paid ads.

What Makes A Good Website?
That’s a loaded question, right? Unfortunately, the answer isn’t one-size-fits-all either. Regardless of your industry, here are some tips on making your website good.
Your website satisfies user intent and has a clear goal: ‘Build it and they will come’ is dead. The core of a good website is knowing who your audience is and why they’re coming to your site. What do they need? Are they looking to make a purchase? How did they land on your site? Lay out your website based on these audience answers.
Your website has excellent technical performance: Before you get into the SEO weeds, focus on the basics. Website speed, easily crawlable, not bogged down with large images, etc. Good sites are without technical errors.
Your website is trustworthy, safe and secure: We all know what a sketchy site looks like. Don’t be that site. “Use up-to-date software, have your SSL in order, make strong passwords, use tools such as Cloudflare to protect your site from DDoS attacks, etc.”
Your website has a great design: Attention spans are becoming shorter and shorter. From your messaging to your CTA’s, focus on giving the user a great experience. Get to the point and get to it quickly. Its not just how it looks, its how it feels.
Your content is on point: Make awesome content your audience wants. This ties back into tip #1…know your audience.
Mobile-first: It’s 2019. This a no-brainer. Design your site with mobile in mind first, not the other way around. Less is more.

Hey, guys, this is going to be a super fun episode for you because it was for us. This is actually how we built our business networking locally. And if you are a local business owner, this is a great way for you to build your business, too.
We're going to give you Four (4) tips on How To Network Most Effectively And Grow Your Business using those for tips or tactics. And I think there's a lot of insight here, and it's probably a little bit against conventional wisdom of what you've heard about networking. So enjoy! 1. Show up to meetings regularly
a. Every major chamber has weekly networking meetings and other networking groups will meet regularly. Attendance and showing up is the number one way to get business because people need to see you multiple times and hear your message in multiple ways before making a decision. Don’t assume you’ll get business after showing up to three meetings.
a. It’s one thing to show up to networking events, it’s another to do more than par for the course. Showing is absolutely step one and you are going to get some business, but getting involved as an ambassador, joining a board or committee will help you stand out even more. The time commitment for some leadership roles is very low, but the perceived value is much higher.
a. Showing up to meetings and being a leader in a meeting are all good, but getting the chance to sit down with someone one-on-one, you really get to tell your story and more importantly hear someone else's. This is NOT an opportunity to sell, but it is an opportunity for you to shine by helping the person across from you close another deal or be a connector for them. As Zig famously said, you will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.
a. Selling all of the time in a 30 second commercial is waste. Why? Because everyone else is going to be trying to perfect their 30 second commercial and won’t listen to you. If you add value, people are a lot more likely to tune in when you have something to say, SO, when you do actually have something to sell, your audience is primed.

To clarify, if you are in a metroplex, most people are only going to travel about 5 miles to visit your location. If you live in a rural area, you may get a little bit more, but there aren’t anyways to become a dentist virtually, that we know of, YET. This episode is perfect for that dentist that is just starting out or the one trying to stay ahead of the curve in technology so new dentists don’t pass them up.
Join your local chamber of commerce, networking group, and local club like a rotary or Lions.
Find a way to put out content to help your audience, the more frequent the better. Whether it’s a blog, podcast, video, etc. If you can work up to doing all of the above, that would be ideal. Don’t worry, your competition isn’t doing much, you know it’s true because right now you probably aren’t doing much either.
Sponsor local events or charities, but the trick here is to sponsor areas that you actually care about. Throwing money at something isn’t always going to work, find something you are passionate about and that will inadvertently do much better.
Put gasoline behind your fire. If what you are doing is working, put advertising spend behind it. Do not go to this step first, if you don’t have good content then adding more money behind it won’t help you long-term. Collect email addresses + mailing addresses and stay in touch with your contacts at least once per week.

4 Proven Ways A Consultant Can Increase Website Traffic
Create content
SEO
Search Engine Optimization is fancy term for driving organic traffic to your website. This works really well for our previous tip on how to increase traffic as content is a big part, but really there are a few other factors to consider. Google reviews, website load time, and backlinks (linking to another popular website)
Paid traffic
Please note that paid traffic, i.e. Facebook and Google ads DO work, but paid traffic only increases or magnifies what is already working. Make sure that your website is doing well already, meaning that is converting. Then you can use paid advertising to drive cheap eyeballs.
Influencers
Use people who have a big name in your space. Influencers have been around for, like ever, but not used to its full capacity on social for micro-influencers (Less than 10k followers) Giving your product or having an influencer talk about your service is a great way to show up on their followers radar and drive traffic to your website. The key here is to make sure you contact 20-30 micro-influencers vs putting all your eggs into one basket.

Instagram and food pictures go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. And today we're going to give you five (5) things that every restaurant needs to be doing on Instagram.
Take gorgeous pictures - This one is a given. Instagram is a visual platform and your photos better match up with some of the best photos on the platform. You have two options; hire a photographer or invest in some equipment. The latter could turn out to be a nightmare when you take into account not only the camera but lenses, lighting, editing software, etc.
Create Instagram Stories daily - Instagram Stories help you get discovered and it’s a more personal way to interact with followers. Everytime we post Instagram Stories we see an uptick in profile views. You probably want to be creating 6-10 story posts daily. Extra tip: It’s absolutely crucial to be an early adopter of the tools that Instagram introduces. Usually platforms push that content first.
Use your DMs - Using direct messages can deepen the relationship with your followers and turn some followers into actual customers. You can also combine the new Instagram Stories chat sticker to create offers and discounts to a select group of followers. Possibilities here are endless.
Use local popular hashtags - You can still use #food #foodie but don’t let that be the bulk of your hashtags. Those are great for general engagement but you really want to engage with your community locally. For example for a restaurant in Plano, I would look at #PlanoFoodie, #RestaurantPlano, etc. These hashtags will increase your visibility locally.
Create relationships with food bloggers/influencers - Here in the Dallas area alone we have hundreds of food influencers on Instagram with thousands of followers. They share their favorite, hottest, best food spots around so it’s important to create these relationships and even work with a few of them. They can promote your business by just posting a beautiful picture.

On today's episode we're going to talk about Four (4) Local Marketing Tactics For Your Auto Repair Shops. And we're switching it up in this podcast. Christian and I are trying something completely different. You're going to want to listen to this episode.
Here are some key points to this episode:
Reputation in this industry is key. Chances are you are going to make the bulk of your money for the year when a storm hits and consumers are going to shop. What are they looking for? Reviews and other people who have tried you out! The best approach is to be omnipresent and get reviews on Facebook, Google, Yelp, etc.
Join the local chamber of commerce. Nothing gives you the seal of approval like a local business owner shouting you out on their Facebook page or NextDoor.
Facebook lead ads! You should be offering a no deductible, no out of pocket, and a free rental car to incentivize people, but to reach people, using Facebook ads would be an effective way to gather information and generate leads. Bonus if you use messenger.
The post-it note on the windshield - yes we all hate that, but if done tactfully it could really work. You should not just go out doing this aimlessly. But keep them with you and if you see a car with hail damage, put it on the car. It should say hey, can you give me a call? With your number. Then when they call, apologize if they thought you hit their car and explain and how you would like to help.

Today we're gonna talk about Five (5) Tips To Grow Your Chiropractic Practice. We're talking about Videos, Messenger, E-mail marketing, and many more. Stick around!
Here are some key points to the show:
Focus on locally targeted online and offline advertising. Most people are not going to travel more than 5-7 miles to see their chiropractor regularly. Some things to consider: demographics, ethnicity, socioeconomic status.
Reviews on reviews on reviews. It doesn’t matter what you say about yourself, it matters what others say about you. You want to make sure you are getting positive reviews frequently across multiple channels. I.e. Facebook, Yelp, and Google.
Email marketing is key. You need to stay top of mind with your audience and the best way to do that, or most effective way right now is email. You probably checked your email today already. Email is effective because it’s intimate and if it’s done tactfully can deepen your relationship with customers.
Videos! We have been pushing this agenda since 2015 and it’s becoming ever more important. We, and you too, consume way more video than anything else. Don’t believe us, scroll through your Facebook feed and count the number of videos you see.
Messenger! Right now, it’s super inexpensive for you to speak to your audience with an insanely high engagement rate. Think about email and how effective we said that was above, now image doubling the engagement rates and tripling the open rate. Start using messenger today!

Quick Stat: LinkedIn has over 300 million active monthly users and 40% visit the site daily.
Link and optimize employee profiles - Make sure all your employees are connected to your company page and even have them include something more personalized in their bio. (Link Nickquolette Barrett)
Engage intentionally - Try to have a solid content strategy that sparks conversation within the community.
Increase the recommendations - People trust people. These recommendations are a great way to provide social proof. The best way to rack up recommendations is for your employees to do it to someone else.

Hey guys, so if you own an E-commerce business you definitely want to listen to this episode. And if you don't, you still want to listen to it. So what we're going to talk about is How You Can Use Micro Influencers To Grow Your Business.
So, you might know big time influencers like Kylie Jenner, Cameron Dallas, and Lilly Sighn. To get a sponsored post from one of them it could cost you up to $1 million. Now, if you’re working with a smaller budget, you can still take advantage of the power of influencers.
What is a micro-influencer?
Micro-influencers are those people with 10 to 100 thousand followers that tend to appeal to a more targeted audience. These type of micro influencers are more cost-effective and have a better, closer relationship with their followers.
Here’s 4 ways on how to find micro-influencers:

Instagram recently released a new chat sticker for their stories and we're gonna talk about specifically for retail businesses Four (4) Ways That You Can Use That New Chat Sticker.
Hot New Feature: Instagram Stories Chat Sticker - It allows you to initiate a private group chat through Instagram Stories with up to 31 of your followers. They click on the chat sticker and you decide who joins and how long the chat stays open.
How you can use Chat Stickers:
Invite customers to a local event - If you’re hosting an event at your location, use the chat sticker to build a mini community of followers that are interested. From there you are able to introduce yourself and answer any questions they may have.
Get feedback - Invite a select group to get you honest reviews and feedback on your products. You can make it more exclusive and share upcoming items.
Offer coupons and discounts - Make that conversion! Offer an exclusive limited time coupon and turn those followers into buyers.
Target a niche group - A good strategy is to combine the “Close Friends” feature with the Chat Sticker. You are able to select some of your followers and essentially get them talking in the same space.

Hey guys! Awesome episode for you today. If you're an Auto Mechanic this is really insightful for you. We break down Three (3) Areas To Help You Boost Your Business. But also keep listening, if you are also not an Auto Mechanic because these tactics you can use to implement and grow your business as well.
We're going to talk about things that I don't think that you would think about for marketing. We get to have some different ways or different strategies to reach people.
Hope you enjoy!
Here are some key points to this episode:
a. Comfy chairs while they wait
b. Take them out to show them what is wrong with the vehicle and don’t just say what is wrong without showing them.
c. Offer free rides back to their destination. If possible, pick-ups too.
d. Coffee, a lot of people like coffee. But not that Folgers stuff you made 5 hours before they go there.
e. WIFI, ‘nough said.
There should be a push for women - Historically women have been taken advantage of at the auto repair shops. Go above the call of duty to make them happy and feel like they know what is going on. Those women are going to talk and spread your name (good or bad) way more than any guy will.
Reviews and referrals - Reviews are the lifeblood of your business and especially in auto repair. We all know someone or experienced it first hand where you went in for an oil change and somehow got a new alternator, starter, and a tire rotation…. The car is 6 months old.

Today we're going to talk about how to market your church for free.
We have three pretty solid strategies and you're just going to love this episode we actually deep dive in two of them and we teach you almost step by step on what to do.
Here are 3 strategies that you can use to boost your church presence and increase attendance.
Disclaimer these are not totally free. These take time and time is money.
Make sure your website is SEO optimized - The first thing people do when searching for a church? Probably do a Google search to see what’s out there. There are hundreds of articles and guides on how to optimize your website for search engines. Speed is a huge component of this. You can even browse our blog or podcast episodes and find some good information to get you started. In addition to that making sure your NAP listing is accurate throughout the web is very important.
Leverage new tech, apps and software - Some examples: ManyChat, OneSignal, Canva, iMovie, Buffer. Using the latest technology will leverage your church into new heights. This will allow you to stay up to date with what other companies are doing to market their businesses. Try out some of these apps. A lot of them offer free versions that allow you to sometimes even have full functionality.

We want to start by saying that if you're not paying attention to ROAS, you’re missing out on some moneeeyyyy! ROAS stands for Return On Ad Spend. It’s a pretty straightforward calculation you divide your revenue and your ad spend to get ROAS.
Your focus should be on total amount of traffic to your site at first. The more people to your site, the more likely you are to able to get sales and when you get sales, you can tweak to scale. The first step is to create images or videos that drive cheap, but targeted traffic to the site.
95% of people are NOT going to purchase when they visit your site. A 5% conversion rate on the website is actually amazing. So, that means the majority of your audience needs nurturing and you should create ads that tells more about the brand, adds value, and resonates with them. The goal here is to get those who have been to your website back.
This is where we make the money. On this particular campaign we have one image that we tested over a three month period, changing out images, text, discounts, etc. until we found what was working. Once we launched the image and it started to work, we didn’t touch it and have not touched it. The ad for the last 10 months has spent a little over $400 and has made well over $12,000. Remember, the TOF, or top of the funnel is not going to (for the most part) get you a crazy return because they don’t know who you are. But the BOF or bottom of the funnel should be converting at a much higher rate. 4-10 is a great range depending on your ad spend. To clarify, this is only one of the ads we are running.

The rage right now is messenger, but ironically we have been talking about messenger since 2016 and then if you remember in 2018 messenger blew up and now it is kind of a lull again.
We’re here to explain why messenger is important and why you should care.
Right now Facebook and Instagram are pushing messenger, which means your overall cost is going to be lower to reach people, but it also has over 1B people on it AND they own WhatsApp.
Think about it this way, a one-on-one messenger conversation with your ideal customer for a very small cost.
The Strategy:
For this pet sitter, we were targeting her location plus 10 miles and focused on those who had pet interests. This could be anything from petco, chewy, SPCA, etc. We wanted to target pet owners, give them an amazing deal, and then send traffic to messenger. A common mistake on Facebook is to run a messenger ad, but you want to run a traffic campaign to messenger. Our average cost per click is way below $1. We have automation set up through ManyChat that only notifies our client when there is an unique question or the pet owner is ready to make a buying decision.

Use a tool like Storyboarder to fully flesh out your videos. Don’t just wing it because you know your stuff. Specially when it comes to technical videos where you’re showing proper form. It important to figure out the details before you start shooting.
If your are just starting out or have been creating video for years, when you engage in other content more eyes will come to you. The more eyeballs on your content, the more opportunities to ask them what they want to see and let you tweak your content to be tailored to the right audience.
Clear, crisp audio is a must. Make sure to invest in a lav mic or shotgun mic with a boom pole. Clear audio not only makes your videos look better and more professional but it makes it a LOT easier for AI on YouTube or Facebook to create your captions! Win-win.
You will not be the best at creating video out the gate, heck it may take you months or even a year to get to where you want to be. Don’t let that scare you away from making video because to do well in your business you can’t ignore video.
This one is last because it’s a no-brainer, kind of. The difference between a video doing really well or not isn’t just the lighting, but it is a huge chunk. If you can, use natural light, if you can’t LED’s and then light boxes. If you are choosing whether or not to spend money on something for your videos, spend it here.

Today we're talking about how to easily grow your email list for your nail salon. We're super excited about this episode. We talked about four different things that you can do and it blends everything from in-store, to online, to social. It's awesome! Check it out. * Rewards program or gift card sign ups
When you walk into a store that you already like or frequently go to signing up for a rewards program makes sense. A simple ask will get a lot of people, but if you sweeten the deal for new subscribers you have a much better chance of getting their email. Bonus - get a phone number to send out SMS in the future.
Using software like https://www.bookeo.com/ or https://www.booker.com/nail-salon-software when they schedule online you can choose how much information you gather and email is a must.
Everyone loves a chance to win something. It needs to be something enticing though. Think free nail care for a year. The bigger the better because of the amount of people who are going to flock to your giveaway. Also, with the power of social it’s very easy to get people to share and have it spread like wildfire.
7 of the 20 most shared articles on BuzzFeed are quizzes! People love doing quizzes. Doing these is a great way to not only grow your email list but also reach a wider audience. Outgrow.co is a great platform to get you started.

If you haven’t heard, Instagram is the hottest and fastest growing social network out there and it makes sense for you to be there. Most people are posting on their feed, less than half of those are using stories and an even smaller amount are using Instagram ads. We’re here to help you crush the competition by using Instagram ads.
Tip - Create your Instagram stories in the app and add GIF’s or text (not too much) and then download and run as an ad. Doing it in an authentic way and then running it as an ad is a great way to reach more people.
Tip - Your Instagram feed should mimic this style of value and be on brand.
Be intentional about where your text goes - In a story ad we see a lot where people try to move text out of the way of the person talking, but move it to the top left or bottom of the screen and this isn’t a good look. The user profile is on the top left and the call to action is at the bottom. Go check out examples of Instagram story ads so you can get a good idea of where to place text.
Use the carousel Instagram stories feature - If you want to create a longer message than 15 seconds, it’s possible. You can create multiple videos in a row that work just like a native Instagram story. i.e. if you followed us without an ad you would see multiple of our videos in a row. In ads you can do this too. If done well, it can also feel like you are someone they already follow and builds a deeper relationship and gives you more time to convey your message.
Add music - When appropriate, it’s almost always appropriate. If you are creating a video that is all imagery and not someone talking, adding music will help increase the amount of time they stay on the story. Not all people listen without sound, but those who do will thank you.

What are the eCommerce platforms that are out there? There are quite a few, but the major players are Big Commerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, and magento.com
Pro’s - Advanced reporting to track sales, follow trends and increase AOV. API available, built in. Great SEO features and capabilities. No transaction fees, even if you use a 3rd party.
Con’s - If you need help from support, it is difficult. User feedback about their CMS is that it is difficult to use, so probably not the most user-friendly to upload blogs or content pieces if you are looking to do that. No mobile app.
Pro’s - Provides a complete package where a beginner can set up their store and start selling in minutes. Great customer service. Fast web load time, that Google loves for your customers. The SEO is great for Shopify, you have the ability to give Google a lot of information about your product and services to ensure search rankings. Apps, apps, apps. There are a ton of 3rd party apps to help you scale your business.
Con’s - Want something completely custom, you will need a Shopify expert. It can take a little bit to get used to Shopify specific jargon that isn’t really used elsewhere. Cost. Depending on what kind of store you want, you could be paying up to $79 per month for using their platform alone, not including transaction fees.
Pro’s - The largest eCommerce platform by % in use today. It is mainly used as a free plugin with Wordpress, which is also a large percentage of the world’s website. (Some stats show almost 30% of the internet is powered by Wordpress)
Con’s - For all the reasons it is a pro, it can also be a con. WooCommerce is a plugin for Wordpress, so unless you have or want a Wordpress website, you can’t use WooCommerce. WooCommerce. If you are struggling to figure out Wordpress it may not be a good fit to learn a completely different platform for only eCommerce. If you want a very robust site, you will need to hire a specific developer for WooCommerce, which may be costly.
Pro’s - Templated designs that are sassy. Like beautiful. It’s an all-in-one-platform. Meaning it isn’t like Wordpress where you have to now learn WooCommerce. Your hosting and security is all handled by Squarespace. If you have a domain, that’s all you need, your subscription covers hosting too!
Con’s - The site looks great, but that doesn’t mean people are going to buy. The site layout isn’t built for sales, it’s built to look good, there is a difference. As far as being found online, your SEO efforts are very limited to what is possible. It’s technically eCommerce because you can sell online, but the ability for you to offer a more robust site is lacking. It’s very limited with function and features.
Pro’s - It’s open source, free and extremely flexible.
Con’s - Doesn’t provide a hosted solution. You have to purchase hosting and be a medium to advanced developer to be able to create your store.
Overall feedback
If you want a simple, easy to use more basic store, Squarespace is probably the route to go. If you are looking for that middle of the road solution that is dependable and built to really sell, BigCommerce or Shopify. If you have a developer and really looking to build a 50+M business or have something very robust, Magento.

Do what you're great at and delegate the rest - Hiring virtual assistants has been awesome. We’ve been able to focus on what we are good at and are able to delegate those tasks that are time-consuming or we just don’t enjoy.
Standardize your processes - Creating quality work is one thing but creating consistent quality work is another. Standards are crucial for a company that is growing rapidly. You won't be able to write a set of instructions for creating an award-winning design, but you could probably break down the steps for wire-framing, creating design templates, content, etc. Find a way to streamline your workflow by creating a checklist for every function and role within your agency. Eventually, these workflows will evolve and your employees will find ways to make your processes easier.
Have goals and get everyone on board - We’ve had goals but never out in the open for everyone to see until we got a vision board. Our vision board reminds us of the things we need to accomplish this year in order to move our goals forward. Goals are ever changing so its important to revisit them often. Having your goals for everyone to see if a great way to get employees on board to achieve those goals.
Stay healthy - Working for yourself is hard and extremely stressful. You have to handle everything, especially when you’re starting out. Delegating helps a lot but there’s always that little voice in your head asking if you’re doing enough. It's super important to take care of yourself. Emotionally, physically, spiritually, socially, environmentally, etc. Make this part of your “company goals”.
Not EVERY client is a good one When you first start out, people walking up to you and offering you money sounds amazing, but sometimes it isn’t worth the headache. When you are in business long enough you start to realize who you enjoy working with and who you produce the best work for. Which means that sometimes you have to turn down business if it doesn’t align with your company and core competencies. It’s a short-term loss for a long-term gain.

How An Interior Designer Can Use Pinterest To Grow Their Audience 1. Make sure you have a business account - Pinterest allows you to have a Personal or Business account. Make sure you make the switch to a Business one as it allows you to track analytics. These will allow you to gauge your content and see where the opportunity lies. 2. Have a strategy in place - Make sure you set out a strategy that you or someone in your team can achieve each week. Consistency, like any other social network, is your friend. When it comes to creating boards make sure you cover just a little bit of everything. Some examples, you can cover each section of a house; bathroom, bedrooms, master, patios, etc. You could also create boards by season, style, colors, etc. The possibilities are endless. 3. Use vertical images - Pinterest is a vertical platform and using the full range of space allows you to reach and engage more people. Infographics are perfect here and get a ton of engagement. Create them specific for your need. 4. Keywords in description - Pinterest is a search engine, so treat it as such. Use words that specifically describe the product. When in doubt, add more content to make sure you accurately cover it vs a short description.
Focus On Trials and Use
Millenials think that use is more important than ownership. A few decades ago, owning a car or a house was seen as a sort of social benchmark. These days, millennials are looking at their bank account and saying, “We can’t afford that!” If there’s a way to let millennials use your product without having to pay for full ownership of it, take advantage of that. Providing a cheaper alternative to buying a product will make millennials more willing to spend their money with you.
Mobile First
Millennials spend more time on their smartphones than any other generation. But if you’re a business owner, this statistic works in your favor. One of the most important things you can do when it comes to marketing to millennials is to meet them where they are. Make your ads mobile-friendly, and put them on social media platforms. Millennials aren’t going to pay a bit of attention to an ad in the newspaper or a magazine; they will notice one that shows up in their Facebook or Instagram feed.
Give Back
Millennials don’t have as much money as previous generations, so they spend a lot more time thinking about where it goes. Not just any company or product is worthy of getting some of their precious resources. So how does a company convince their millennial customers that they should spend their money with that company? One great way to attract millennial customers is to use part of your company’s proceeds to support a cause. Millennials want to see that their money is helping to make a difference in the world. Agreeing to donate a part of your proceeds to a charity or to help employ underprivileged populations can draw in your millennial audience.
Be Authentic
One of the most important things to remember about millennials is how inundated they have become with advertising. They grew up in the digital age, with advertising blaring at them everywhere from public restrooms to gas pumps. One of the best ways you can draw millennials in is to be authentic with your media outreach. You believe your product is a good one that’s worth spending money on, right? Let that genuine enthusiasm shine through in your marketing; that realness will get millennial customers’ attention.
Do More Video
It seems like every other post on social media is an auto play video. And it’s working; 64 percent of consumers make a purchase after watching a branded social video.
With video marketing being such a powerful tool, your company can’t afford to ignore it. Make video a central part of your marketing efforts. It’ll draw millennial's in, and then you have a chance to tell them why they should choose your company.

In today's episode, we talk about the 4 things your website needs in 2019: 1. Less Clutter - Keep your website simple and impactful. Big companies like, Apple, take this approach on their sites. Get rid of unnecessary clutter. You should be able to convey your message in a concise and straightforward way. Attention spans are getting shorter and shorter. Also, break down text into more digestible content, easier to read; Neil Patel does a great job of this on his blog. 2. Animation - Again, attention spans are getting shorter so animations are a great way to keep people engaged. Now we are not saying to have your whole website moving everywhere but those subtle animations that make a truly great experience. 3. Video - Using video was a big trend in 2018 and 2019 is going to be bigger. It’s easier to convey a point or tell a story using video. A lot of websites using video in their hero sections to captures people attention too. 4. Truly great mobile experience - Mobile responsiveness is great and a lot of websites have adopted a responsive approach to their designs. BUT PLEASE make sure you truly navigate throughout your whole website.

Today, we talk about what reputation management is and how it can help your business!
Reputation management in our own words is the active monitoring of your brand online. Most businesses are aware that they have reviews online, but are not active with monitoring it.
Reputation management affects your brand. You can have the best product in the world, but bad customer service could cost you long-term growth. The flipside, an upset customer who was bashing you to all their friends, handled with poise and great service can turn into an advocate. We have all been upset at a company and then they go above and beyond and you’re even more in love with them than before.
Businesses understand that the blowback from negative press can be ruinous to a small company. The surprising solution is simply to be as honest as possible about your business goals and intentions while offering customers a perpetual peak behind the curtain. For small businesses without a dedicated reputation-management team, these attempts can be clumsy, inconsistent and counterproductive.

In this episode, we talk about 5 Ecommerce Marketing Tools You Need In Your Website:
Hey, y'all! This episode is super special because not only will it be useful for moms out there, but we also officially have our first guest for 2019 on The Marketing Natives - Abbie Alter creator of Plano Moms! We were super excited to record this episode because Abbie is a good friend of ours and Plano Moms has built a really awesome community for all of the moms out there. So, in order to get to know Abbie and Plano Moms better, we asked her some interesting questions!
The Story Behind Plano Moms And How It Got Started
When Abbie moved to the United States five years ago, she didn't have that solid network that she had when she was back in England. With this in mind, she had a difficult time looking for mom's in her area that could answer the questions she had like asking where the best place was to take her kids for dentist checkups and which schools were the best. So in order to help other moms who were in the same situation just like herself, Abbie started the Plano Moms Talk group on Facebook. Here, she and other moms helped one another by answering questions about motherhood and their community.
The group was a hit! Soon thousands of moms in the Plano area joined the group. This was when Abbie realized that she needed more than just a Facebook group. She started expanding Plano Moms by starting an email newsletter and encouraged the members of their Facebook group to subscribe. The newsletter helped her create content that the moms needed and was even able to get offers from local businesses that the moms would enjoy! They expanded once again with their own Facebook page and Instagram, as well.
Plano Moms later then got its own website. This was were members could read Abbie's blogs, connect with one another, and also stay updated with the group's events. They even have a neat event every three months where the moms can speed date in order to get to know the members of their community!
Abbie's Secrets To Staying Organized
With Abbie having so much on her plate such as the Facebook group, website, and other social media accounts to manage, we couldn't help but wonder how this super mom keeps it all together! One of the best things, she found out that she could do was ask help from other moms! Delegating tasks for them was important, one of them is in charge of creating blogs for the website, another mom helps Abbie sell to local businesses and she also one mom to do her e-mail newsletters now.
But with so many different projects at hand, Abbie tries to do her best by outsourcing in order to get the best possible outcome!
Since she works with a lot of different moms and projects, Abbie and her team usually rely on Slack and emails for communication. They also use a CRM system to help them work efficiently with the businesses they partner up with.
The Importance Of Laying Down The Law
One of the things that sets Plano Moms apart from the different mom groups in their area is that Abbie has set rules for the members to follow in order to have a healthy environment for their community. An example of this would be that moms are not allowed to sell products in their group, the reason for this is that since Plano Moms was made in order for moms to help other moms with their questions - Abbie didn't want members vouching for the products sold by other moms because this could lead to them possibly only doing so for monetary gain.
New members need to get used to these rules, but Abbie has made it clear that it's all done in order to help their community stay healthy!
Videos And Plano Moms Merch For 2019!
Since the website just went live last year, Abbie plans to have more video content released on a weekly basis. She explained that the videos would be like the Today Show and feature presentations from their different members. Apart from the videos, in order to double her revenue, Abbie plans on selling Plano Mom merchandise! These vary from baby suits, t-shirts, and caps.
Learning Is The Key
One of the key things she has taken away from her life as an entrepreneur is the constant need to learn. Whether it be reading books, attending conferences, or listening to podcasts and speakers - continuously learning has helped Abbie a lot! To keep her knowledge flowing, she contributes an hour or two just for learning.
The biggest conference that has had an impact on Abbie is Social Media Marketing World, which we have also attended! She loved it there and we did, too, y'all should check it out and attend this year!
In another previous conference, she was invited to join a group that was mainly made of people just like herself - local mom bloggers and publishers. Since then, Abbie has developed great relationships with all of them and it has also relieved her that she's not the only one doing what she does. Because of her habit to learn, she was able to extend her network and form new relationships.
No Regrets With How She Started Out
Abbie doesn't have any real regrets about how she started out, but if there was one thing - she does wish that she had secured some finance at the beginning of her journey in order to invest and get a head-start.
But at the end of the day, she's happy with how she started out and is proud of the earnest growth of her business throughout the years.
Experiment And Move On
Having a straightforward business like Plano Moms allows Abbie and her team to experiment and try new fun things to help their business grow. But if the new thing they're trying out doesn't really work out for them, Abbie isn't afraid of letting it go and moves on to the next great idea. She also has a lot of faith in herself with her creative ideas and her team does, too! Having this optimistic mindset is probably one of the reasons why Plano Moms has been thriving so well.
$15 A Month Is All She Needs
When we asked Abbie what her best investment was with a $100, she said that she didn't have one because the best investment she spends on is $15 a month. Using messenger bots for her Facebook page has really helped Abbie a lot with her business. She still continues to experiment with the bots in order to help her improve her customer service. From selling things online, getting orders done, and adding people to her subscriber list, Abbie admits that it has made her life easier.
What's Abbie Binge Watching On Netflix?
It turns out that Abbie is into crime documentaries! She's just finished watching Making A Murderer Season 2, we personally have yet to finish it. Good thing Abbie saved us from the spoilers! It's a really controversial and interesting show, y'all should check it out.
Well, it was really great to have Abbie on the show and we can't be grateful enough that she was our first guest on The Marketing Natives for 2019. If you guys want to follow Abbie and her business be sure to check them out on all social media platforms @PlanoMoms, and if you're a mom that lives in Plano or you plan on moving there then you should definitely join the Plano Moms Facebook group! Don't forget to checkout her website planomoms.com
Thanks for listening to this episode, guys, it was really fun to record this! If you want to hear more from Abbie or if you think we should feature more guests, tell us about what you think and DM us on Instagram @bitbranding. We'll see everyone in the next episode!

Set Up A Meeting - After you’ve done your research it’s important to set up some sort of meeting, either phone call or in person. During this meeting you’ll want to ask as many questions as you can. Starting with ‘have you built a dentist website before?’. Other important questions:
In this episode we talk about 4 Tips To Effectively Market Your New Doctors Office:
Focus on 1-3 traffic sources both online and offline. A few practices online to focus on are local SEO or search engine optimization. When someone needs you the first thing they are going to do outside of asking a friend is to go to Google. You want to be on the first page of Google, preferably in the maps. Another way to drive traffic is online advertising through social media marketing such as Facebook or Instagram ads.
Focus on what sets you apart. Most doctors are the ‘same’ in the eyes of the consumers, find what makes you unique and exploit that. Do you offer the best waiting areas for kids to help them feel comfortable, are the facilities the cleanest, do you offer a special type of treatment? All of these are examples of some areas that could help you carve out your piece of the pie.
In today's episode, we talk about How To Get More Online Reviews For Your Roofing Company:
Once the job is finished. Let them know you are going to send over a request for a review via email and see if they are willing to leave one. By them committing aloud that they would leave a review, it locks them in to at least psychologically remembering that you said you were going to send one and for them to be on the lookout.
Hire a marketing agency in Allen, Texas. If you are great at what you do, we want you to continue doing what you do well. Allow an agency to come in and not only request new reviews and grow that number, but to mitigate the bad reviews. We can monitor up to 100-200 review sites and when a review is left we get notified almost instantly that there was a review, so if it was good, we can respond and thank them. If it was a bad review, it allows you to respond and rectify the situation, and in many cases, get it removed by talking to the customer.
In this episode we talk about Why Your Online Business Should Hire A Local Website Designer:
Communication - with a local agency or website designer, depending on the size of your town or city, you would come in contact or have the opportunity to come in contact in person a lot more often that would develop a deeper relationship and cause them to be more responsive.
You’ll Get a Great Custom Design - The best thing about hiring a local website design agency in Allen, Texas is that you’re going to get a custom design. Other bigger firms cut cost by mass producing websites and using templates, so all websites end up looking the same. Standing out is really important for any business and local agencies understand that.
In this episode we talk about The Top 5 Software Tools We Use In Our Business And You Should Too: 1. Slack - Hands down the best messaging and complete project and communication software. Slack was just getting started when we started the company and it allowed us to live in two different states to start the company. 2. Sumo - The full suite. We use Sumo to collect email addresses and grow our website traffic. We use AppSumo to find out about the latest and greatest new tech softwares at a deal. Lastly, we use KingSumo to create viral giveaways.
In today's episode we talk about 3 Ways A Restaurant Can Use Video In Their Marketing Strategy: 1. You’re selling food. Pictures are going to go a long way, but if you had videos of your signature pieces you are going to stand out. They don’t have to be long videos. 5-10 seconds of the dish will do plenty. 2. About video. Telling your story in an easy to digest way helps cement the infinity people have with your restaurant. For example, some restaurants put their story on the menu and that almost always goes over well. An about video allows you to do that for people who have never been inside. 3. Product reviews of new dishes, favorites, or seasonal products. Food is very visual and is the #1 thing on Instagram, so showing your product with a video would only entice more visitors.

Christian: [00:00:00] I had to go ahead with that one because I think with especially with gyms people want to feel included and be part of a community or a family.
Aaron: [00:00:25] Howdy friends and that's "Hello" for Texas people and for those who are listening outside of Texas we say hello to you as well. This is the Marketing Natives where you get to listen to us dissect exactly in our own terms anyway - how to make a local business stand out online. We switch it up on which business we talk about each week. However it is applicable to most businesses and this week we're talking about gyms. Specifically how a gym can generate leads with Facebook advertising.
Christian: [00:01:00] And I think we're going to dissect like a pretty good strategy that we've done for other gems but we do want to say that this has worked very well with gyms that offer a sort of a boots style - boot camp style workout where it's like a group setting where it's easy to just add one more person and it won't really add additional cost to your business.
Aaron: [00:01:24] Right. So personal training maybe possible with this but it's a lot better with a group and not a an ugh. Like Christine was alluding to earlier UGS wouldn't work here.
Christian:[00:01:36] No absolutely not...
Aaron: [00:01:38] But boot camps would work.
Christian: [00:01:39] Yeah. All right. So tell us what's the strategy.
Aaron: [00:01:43] So one thing that you could use and actually I just want to preface this with saying that this is something that we've done and it has worked in the past. And I feel like there's not a lot of like really tactical steps to do online and that's why we created this podcast so to use this offer. The offer is a 21 day free trial. This is and I would I would honestly do it to where you know you have three days a week or you know they come three days a week for 21 days or over the course of that next month they get income 21 times whatever that point is. You need to figure that out. But a 21 day free trial that's what's going to draw people in. Because in three weeks if they're working out with you psychologically if they get some results in that time period they are a lot more likely to stay around. So the most important thing with this offer and with this whole strategy is that you need to understand the complete funnel and this is a fancy word for taking the customer from not knowing who you are to becoming an actual lead. And so we're going to break down a little bit about how that happens.
Christian: [00:02:47] Right. So I think the number one thing either will make or break this campaign or this strategy is having great copy and if you're not familiar with the term copy. It's something that we've actually use in marketing and advertising but copies is just the text - the text that goes along with that ad that you will see on Facebook but it's multiple parts. One, it's going to be the headline, right? Is that what's it called a "headline"?
Aaron: [00:03:16] A headline, yes.
Christian: [00:03:18] There's a headline, there's a description. And then there's also I mean you can even have text instead of you know if you use an image for example or when we use a video you can do text inside of that image or video and that's also referred to as copy.
Aaron: [00:03:32] Yes. So good copy is going to take somebody from let's say for example. Lose weight now. That's one example of copy. A better example of losing weight is lose 15 pounds in three days or 15 pounds in 21 days like you can you can feel yourself mentally making that happen and saying, "Oh that's possible" but just "Losing weight." That's so am-be-be? What's the right word?
Christian: [00:03:57] Ambiguous.
Aaron: [00:03:57] Ambiguous. Yeah, so...
Christian: [00:03:59] What were you gonna say? Am-be-biguious?
Aaron: [00:04:02] Angu-bu-.
Christian: [00:04:02] Amphibious.
Aaron: [00:04:02] Amphibious.
Christian: [00:04:03] Yeah, I think that was the word.
Aaron: [00:04:04] Right not a toad but it was a frog. No, you can paint that picture with the copy. That really helps sell that item because if you do it's a 21 day free trial and in the copy just sucks after that it's not going to really bring anyone in there. They need to be able to put themselves in your shoes so don't worry about complicating it too much just really tell people what the offer is and what they're going to get about get out of it and be as descriptive as possible when you do those things. You will do just fine. You don't need to hire a copywriter.
Christian: [00:04:38] You know I think magazines I've been doing the copy. Very very good for a lot of years.
[00:04:44] Think about it like all these magazines that have slimmed down 20 pounds before summer and it's like June 1st already. So I think they do a really good job with that now. I think it's something that they don't do a good job with is they usually have these perfect models and toned woman and men with huge biceps - are already ripped. So this is I think where the magazines lack but where you can win is using the right imagery that will resonate with your clients. Again I mean I think the magazines do well with the smiling faces and happy people. But I think it's good to use real people. You use real results for a lot of your imagery and videos.
Aaron: [00:05:32] Now with advertising you can't do a before and after picture. But what you can do what we've worked well for us, So I'll tell you is one of those things was a group of like four or five people they were all like you could tell they just finished working out. We're all smiling at the camera and it's just a group of people and you're like "Wow. I want to go and work out with these people. These can be my new friends and they look like normal people. They aren't like you know muscles bulging out of their shirt." Like we're everyday people who just want to get in shape and that will really resonate with you because it seems authentic and it's not an ad at that point.
Aaron: [00:06:08] So...woah! It is that time but uh, we pushed it a early little bit early. It is a rep air horn time.
Christian: [00:06:19] Nice. All right. So if you've been listening to episodes this is where Erin and I AKA BitBranding, we let you know about our company. I just said the name BitBranding. Again, I don't know why. Whenever it comes to this commercial thing I just I'm not good at I'm just not good.
Aaron: [00:06:36] Hey, it's a mental thing, you can do it. Let's talk you through it guys. Everybody in your cars right now, just start chanting "Christian".
Christian and Aaron: [00:06:42] Go Christian, go Christian, go! Go Christian, go Christian, go!
Aaron: [00:06:44] And that's a reference to the Secret of the Ooze Ninja Turtles if anybody is familiar with it.
Christian: [00:06:51] Ninja Turtles 2?
Aaron: [00:06:53] Yeah, it was Ninja Turtles 2.
Christian: [00:06:54] 1999? I'm just kidding, I don't remember them.
Aaron: [00:06:55] It was the1982, the first one came out. Yeah. So anyway guys go ahead. What's going on?
Christian: [00:07:03] So we are a digital marketing agency based in Allen Texas. And yeah. We just want to help you grow. I mean that's our whole I guess motto since the very beginning is try to provide a lot of content to a lot of people very fast. So from the beginning from the get go we started making you know creating video series and and creating blog posts and being active on social media and now creating this podcast. So it's very important for us to educate a lot of the business owners out there. So I don't think this is going to be a sell for you but it is a "thank you". Thank you for listening and thank you for watching your content for digesting and absorbing our content and being there for us and helping us grow our company and our business. And yeah I mean, that's...this is huge thank you to all of our followers.
Aaron: [00:08:02] That's good. I don't think we've ever done a "Thank you". And we should. And we would thank you even more if you share this episode, but no seriously we appreciate it.
Christian: [00:08:10] You're ruining the moment. Thanks.
Aaron: [00:08:13] Sorry. All right. We got back to our regular schedule of the episode because Christian was tearing up over there and I...you know I'm a contact crier so as soon as he started crying. I was starting to get hungry. All right. So the next one here is your landing page. What that is for those who are new to marketing or online advertising. It is a dedicated website, single page typically and it's dedicated to one thing: generating that lead. A lot of people ask "Why can't I build this landing page or this page on my website?" And it's because if they can go to your website, they're more than likely going to click on other things and not do what you want them to do on your landing page. You only want them to give their name, phone number and e-mail address and that's collecting the lead if they do anything more than that or anything less than that, then you don't get that business. So it's really simple you're there to do business in that landing page should be treated as such.
Christian: [00:09:16] Yeah. And then I guess some of the things that you need on your landing page are some some key elements that you need landing page number one, is familiar...familiarity. Is that how you say that word?
Aaron: [00:09:28] Familiarity.
Christian: [00:09:30] Familiarity.
Christian: [00:09:33] Man, that is a hard word. So basically what we're trying to say on this one is that you know if you use an image of Cindy on your ad then make sure that Cindy is also on that landing page one you don't want to confuse your customers or people who are clicking through the ad you want to make sure that the branding is the same. So same imagery, same colors, same logos that you're using on your Facebook and that image or video of that ad - make sure that you're using those on that landing page. Another thing is social proof. So you can do this by having testimonials. You can do video testimonials. There's also some plugins of...
Aaron: [00:10:10] Proof.io.
Christian: [00:10:10] Yeah, proof.io. You typically see these in e-commerce websites where it shows you oh so-and-so from Michigan just signed up and their are just like notifications on your website of people signing up and it gives you a little sense of like "Oh you know...".
Aaron: [00:10:27] "I trust this brand".
Christian: [00:10:27] "Yeah, I trust this because other people are doing it. Why can't I do it?" And then another thing is to ask for a full name not just first and last name, you want to make sure that that form is you know is as compact. I guess as possible. So having just one dedicated form field for you know the full name is better. Another thing to optimize that landing page is to create a pop up when they tried to leave. A lot of the landing page softwares out there which you can check Instapage or Click Funnels.
Aaron: [00:11:01] Which we'll leave both of these up.
Christian: [00:11:05] They offer this. I mean as an automatic thing so you're not going to install any plug ins or anything. So you can set whenever their mouse is about to leave the page you hit them up with a pop up maybe even offer them a little better offer than you did before. And then number five, is a strong call to action and headline. Purchase now. Sign up today.
Aaron: [00:11:27] Yeah. And then. Or like you know "0hange my life" or you know whatever that may be. But I think one of the keys to any landing pages is that it constantly needs to be getting tested. A good rule of thumb is that you convert 20 percent of the people who go to your landing page. And when you're testing it just as a heads up don't try to change so many different things like if that image doesn't work, don't change up the image and then change up the headline and then change out to social proof. Test one thing at a time and it may take a little bit of time to optimize your landing page. But once you get to 20 percent or above you know that you're firing on all cylinders and you're going to generate a lot more leads. So our last one here. And this is one that people neglect a lot. They're like "I already generated the lead. I don't need to worry about anything else". But you do and that's to take them to the thank you page in the follow up these two pages are where the connection with them start. For example you're going to go buy something from somebody say you buy a car today. If you go buy that car and you drive it home you don't want that to be the only time that the dealership talks to you. I mean you want them to come back for maintenance, you want to come back for you know a relationship to know what's going on there.
Christian: [00:12:42] So you're kid's car or your potential next car.
[00:12:46] And the thank you page allows you to start making them again familiar with who you are. On that thank you page you could have a video saying "Hey thanks! You just made of the best investment of your life. We're going to follow up with you within the next day. You're going to get a call, you're going to get an e-mail?" whatever it is how you're going to communicate and just let them know ahead of time. We're excited for you to join us for this 21 day free trial. You are going to change your life. This is exactly how we're going to communicate with you. And then they just feel empowered. They take that over to them the next day and they're anticipating your call. They are picking up every call that they don't know the number cuz they're like "Oh I hope this is Jim. He said he's going to call me, I really can't wait to do this" and then making sure that you follow up and you do make him follow through on what you're telling them that you're going to do. If you're gonna you say you're going to call within 24 hours you need to do that. And when you do that piece of it before they ever get to the gym you've already closed them 60-70 percent of the way. Now they just need to work out which is the easy part because that's what you should already be good at. And then by the end of their 21 day period they become a retainer or they become a regular client for you. But I think it really all starts with the thank you page and the follow up if you do those successfully you're going to have a lot more clients.
Christian: [00:13:59] Yeah, I mean I think you hit the nail on the head. Is that the phrase?
Aaron: [00:14:03] Yeah. There should be something that we do on the podcast more often when we have phrases that Christian questions because he had one last week that I can't remember what it was but it's like "Oh the more you learn" or something like that.
Christian: [00:14:18] Yeah, yeah.
Aaron: [00:14:19] So these phrases each week if you remember each one we will give you a T-shirt.
Christian: [00:14:25] I mean you listen to them all the time and then it's just when you get or your time to say the phrase you're like "Wait is how it goes?" I think that's the thing though people always say "Is that how that phrase goes?"
Aaron: [00:14:36] Anyway we digress. Anything else you wanna say?
Christian: [00:14:42] No, yeah I was gonna to say that yeah you definitely hit the nail on the head with that one because I think with especially with gyms people want to feel included and be part of a community or family you know. So I think you're very, very right on that. Make sure that thank you page into the follow up and then beyond the follow up making sure that you know that person is actually coming in you know for that 21 day free trial and creating a connection and you know good communication with that with that person is definitely good to get them long term and then signed up for more.
Aaron: [00:15:19] Yes. All right so you're a gym owner or you are a friend of a gym owner. If you're a friend shared this with them. In today's episode, we talk about 3 Ways To Optimize Your Clothing Website To Increase Sales:
Get rid of the hamburger menu and automatic sliders - Automatic sliders have become quite famous in the last few years. But nowadays you want to avoid these. They are distracting and deter people from your CTA. You will need hamburger menus for mobile but it is recommended that you include text with them to facilitate your navigation. Avoid hamburger menus on your desktop version. You want for customer to find items in the least amount of clicks possible.
It needs to run fast - If there is something that you should ALWAYS be doing to optimize your website.. It should be speed. There are numerous studies that show having a faster website improves conversions and sales. First you should run a speed test on your site from multiple sources to get an understanding of your current situation. Usually these websites will give you suggestions on what to improve.
Create videos for your all products - Another way to increase sales is to show more of your product with videos! Not a lot of ecommerce website take advantage of videos but in reality a lot of customers are going to YouTube to check out your product. I know I’ve done it for shoes multiple times. Why not create YouTube videos of your clothing, shoes and accessories and embed those videos in your product pages? It’s easy to do, but maybe a little time consuming.
In today's episode, we talk about how a real estate agent can win on LinkedIn:
1) Use LinkedIn native video to your advantage - The relative new service is being underused by professionals. Including ourselves. Make sure to use it effectively by providing value, guidance, expertise instead of selling. Your job is to establish yourself as a professional in your industry.
2) Connect with other agents in different cities to create a referral network - This is huge. By connecting with other agents you’re able to help your clients that are moving to different cities in the US. This could also work for other professionals to connect with people in your industry to exchange ideas
3) CREATE content, don’t just share and sell - By creating a consistent posting strategy, professionals can grow their following, increase their credibility, and become an authority, which naturally turns into capturing more leads.
4) Make connections, give recommendations.
Today's episode we talk about 4 benefits of having a graphic designer in your team:
TIME! If you don’t know the difference between a JPG, PNG, TIF, EPS, or PDF chances are there are a lot of ‘practicing’ and research to get you to the right place. Think back to what you are proficient in, is your time best spent doing that or trying to learn something new that you may be ‘okay’ in? A logo for your brand by a designer that knows you could take 2 hours, or you could try to do the same thing and probably not achieve the same results in 6-10 hours.
Design is what makes people take action. Whether it comes to your website, social media correspondence, mailers, or flyers, the colors and design makes a difference. If your brand looks cheap, more than likely those are the clients you will attract.

Creativity will almost always allow you to spend less in advertising because you don’t have to pay for it to spread, the market will do it for you. * This may seem obvious, but just like a personal budget, actually having a budget will allow you to maximize what you spend because you’re tracking it. A lot of businesses will just guess without understanding what their real budget is. * Focus on digital. You won’t go very far with direct mail, but an email list up to 2,000 contacts on MailChimp is FREE! Digital overall is cheaper and trackable.
