The Don’t Mention the Fußball Podcast - all about Hertha in English. We dabble. We. Digress. A. Lot. The aim in the project is to share our love of and sometimes frustration with Hertha BSC. With the spoken word in particular, can prove difficult for foreign nationals to keep up with the existing podcasts in German. We are making these podcasts and corresponding website in English to help keep people who do not speak German well up to date and involved with our club.

A quick ramble on the day after Christmas about the season so far with the normal distractions
Patrick and Jan discuss the last two losses (boo) and avoid talking about a certain "club" from Leipzig. Patrick just finished the Berlin Marathon (yay) and Jan is lazy as always. Enjoy. We have to talk about the last two losses, a rather botched sadline day and how we think Hertha is gonna fare with the transfers that DID happen.
Jan returns to join Patrick and Simon to try and make sense of confusing times. Are we hopeful for the future?
Jan returns to the podcast and we chew the fat about being Hertha fans in a pandemic. We also have guest appearances from Maria and Inis. Maria tells us her Hertha story and how she has been affected by the pandemic. Inis answers some questions about the new stadium project. Well Hertha fans, now have just two games to play in the 2017/18 season. One away game against Hannover ’96 and then the fizzy drinks company in Berlin on the last day. Before these last two games, Hertha came up with some thrills, then spills and finally a creditable fightback to give us something to discuss in this episode.

This weeks home game had our committed and professional reporters living in hope as they arrived at the stadium on a day that was not quite as pleasant as the weather forecasters and indeed Hertha had us believe. Following this advice about not needing long sleeves Simonir turned up in his shirt and shorts as drizzle started to fall on fans standing outside at a bar before the game. We were hoping Pal Dardai’s plan for the game ran more smoothly than his clothing choices for the day!
After a little pyro display from the listing Köln fans the game started well enough with an attacking formation of 4.4.2 with both Ibisevic and Selke up front.
It appeared Pal was not going to mess about this time and he was going to for it it.
The Saturday night had us trudging towards the Olympiastadion on a dark, wet March evening but hey I’m sure the listener appreciates our commitment. DMTF008 has us chatting about . . .
