Many people hesitate to approach God. Some wonder if He is truly interested in their concerns, others feel unworthy to ask, and some simply do not know whether God can be trusted with the things they carry.
But Jesus invites us into a different kind of relationship with God. In the Sermon on the Mount, He calls His followers to ask, seek, and knock with confidence—not because we have earned His attention, but because we approach a Father who loves His children and delights in giving good gifts.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to come boldly to God for wisdom, guidance, and everything we need to live faithfully. It reminds us that prayer is not about convincing a reluctant God to care, but responding to a good Father who welcomes us.
It invites us to consider:
Do I approach God with confidence in His goodness, or do I allow doubt and hesitation to keep me from drawing near?

Few teachings of Jesus are quoted more often than, "Do not judge." Yet we live in a culture that seems increasingly quick to criticize, condemn, and define people by their worst moments.
Was Jesus telling us to abandon moral convictions? Ignore sin? Never confront wrongdoing?
In this message from Matthew 7:1–6, we discover that Jesus is addressing something much deeper than our words or opinions—He is confronting the posture of our hearts. Before we focus on the faults of others, He calls us to honestly examine our own lives, receive God's mercy, and allow that mercy to transform the way we see and respond to others.
Rather than producing indifference toward sin, Jesus shows us a better way: a life marked by humility, compassion, and a sincere desire to help others rather than condemn them.

The cross is one of the most familiar stories in history—but has it become personal to you?
In this message, Andrew explores how Jesus' sacrifice is far more than a historical event. When we truly grasp the depth of His love and the price He willingly paid for us, gratitude becomes more than a feeling—it becomes a joyful response that transforms our relationship with God and the way we live each day.
Through Scripture and practical application, discover how making Christ's sacrifice personal leads to deeper worship, willing obedience, authentic relationship with God, and a life marked by love, service, and hope.

Worry is a natural part of life. We all carry concerns about the future—our needs, our responsibilities, our relationships, and the things we cannot control.
But Jesus offers more than a command to stop worrying. In the Sermon on the Mount, He reminds His followers of the character and care of their heavenly Father. The God who provides for the birds of the air and clothes the flowers of the field can be trusted with the needs of His children.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to live with confidence in God's care rather than being consumed by fear about tomorrow. It reminds us that when we know who our Father is, we are freed to seek His kingdom today.
It invites us to consider—
What do my worries reveal about where I am placing my trust?

Most people spend a great deal of time and energy investing in things they believe will bring security, happiness, or significance. We invest in careers, possessions, experiences, achievements, and relationships, hoping they will provide lasting fulfillment.
But Jesus challenges us to think carefully about where we are investing our lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, he contrasts treasures that are temporary and vulnerable with treasures that endure. More than a discussion about money, this teaching exposes the deeper reality that our investments reveal our priorities, shape our hearts, and ultimately reflect whom we trust.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to invest in what truly lasts. It reminds us that while earthly treasures can be lost, stolen, or destroyed, the treasures of God's kingdom are secure and eternal.
It invites us to consider:
What am I investing my life in—and will it last?

Most people understand the temptation to seek recognition. Whether through social media, accomplishments, service, or even acts of faith, we naturally want to be seen, appreciated, and affirmed by others.
But Jesus offers a profound warning in the Sermon on the Mount. Looking at three common religious practices—giving, prayer, and fasting—we discover that these practices can lose both their meaning and their reward when they become performances for others rather than expressions of a relationship with God.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to live for the approval of our heavenly Father rather than the applause of people. It reminds us that the greatest rewards of faith are not found in being noticed by others, but in knowing and being known by God.
It invites us to consider:
Are we practicing our faith to be seen by others, or to know and depend on God?

Most people believe in loving those who love them. After all, it is natural to show kindness to friends, care for family, and love those who treat us well.
But Jesus takes the conversation much deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that His followers are called to a different kind of love—one that extends beyond those who deserve it and reaches even those who oppose us.
This message explores God's invitation to love as He loves. A love that is not determined by the behaviour of others, but flows from the character of God Himself.
It invites us to consider:
Are we merely loving those who love us, or learning to love as God loves?

Most people believe in standing up for themselves. After all, when we are wronged, our instinct is often to get even, protect our rights, or make sure others feel what we have felt.
But Jesus takes the conversation deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that His followers are called to respond differently. Rather than being driven by retaliation, they are invited to overcome evil with unexpected generosity, humility, and self-sacrifice.
This message explores God's invitation to go beyond what is required, choosing a path that reflects His character even when it comes at a personal cost.
It invites us to consider:
When we are wronged, are we merely seeking what is fair, or are we willing to love in ways that go the extra mile?

Most people feel pretty good about the command, "Do not commit adultery." After all, many of us would never consider crossing that line.
But Jesus uses this command to expose something deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that true faithfulness is about more than avoiding unfaithful actions. It begins in the heart and shapes the way we view relationships, commitment, and covenant love.
This message explores God's invitation to a deeper kind of faithfulness—one that influences the choices we make today and prepares us to remain faithful tomorrow. Whether we are married, single, dating, or engaged, the habits of the heart we cultivate now affect our ability to honour God and others in our relationships.
It invites us to consider:
Are we cultivating the kind of heart that can sustain lasting faithfulness?

Have you ever noticed how often people feel the need to add extra words to convince others they can be trusted?
"I promise."
"I swear."
"Honestly."
Looking at Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that God desires something better for His people. Rather than relying on oaths and promises to establish credibility, Jesus calls us to become people of such integrity that a simple "yes" or "no" is enough.
This message explores what it means to become someone whose word can be trusted and whose character speaks for itself.
It invites us to consider:
Are we people who say what we mean and mean what we say?

Most people feel pretty good about the command, "Do not murder."
After all, it's probably safe to say most of us have never murdered anyone... hopefully!
But Jesus uses this command to expose something deeper. Looking at His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that hatred, resentment, and contempt can take root in the heart long before they are ever expressed in our actions.
This message explores God's invitation to let go of what poisons our hearts and pursue reconciliation with others.
It invites us to consider:
Are we merely avoiding the wrong actions, or allowing God to transform what is happening within?

Most people think being righteous means trying harder to do the right thing.
But Jesus points to a different kind of righteousness altogether.
Looking at a pivotal moment in the Sermon on the Mount, we discover that God's desire is not simply to change our behaviour, but to transform our hearts. The kind of righteousness Jesus describes goes beyond appearances and reaches the root of who we are.
This message lays the foundation for everything that follows and invites us to consider: Are we focused on looking righteous, or becoming righteous?

We were created for more than ourselves.
The purpose of right living is not simply personal growth—it is to impact others with the character of God.
Looking at Jesus' description of His followers as salt and light, we discover that God's intention is not only to transform us, but to work through us. As His character is formed in our lives, we become a source of influence, hope, and light to the people around us.
This message invites us to consider:
Are we allowing God to use our lives to impact others?

Everyone has their own idea of what is right. But over time, life has a way of revealing that our ways don't lead to the life we've been searching for.
In this series, we explore Jesus' teaching on right living through the Sermon on the Mount.
The Sermon on the Mount is not instruction for people trying to earn God's acceptance. It is a gift given to people who know their need for God's grace.
Through Christ, God forgives sinners, reconciles us to himself, and invites us into life in his kingdom.
Looking at the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, we see that Jesus doesn't start with rules—he starts with a picture. A picture of a life that is blessed.
This message sets the foundation for the series and invites us to consider:
Are we willing to receive the life Jesus offers and follow him in the way of his kingdom?

Not every idea that sounds spiritual is rooted in the truth God has revealed in Jesus. Throughout the church’s history, well-intended teachings, traditions, and assumptions have sometimes shaped the way people understand the Christian life in ways that don’t fully reflect what God has actually revealed.
That’s why, in this series, we’ve been slowing down to examine certain beliefs and practices — not to be critical, and not to question the core truths of our faith — but to ask a careful and necessary question: Does this align with what God has revealed in Christ?
This week, we turn that question toward something central to the Christian life: discipleship.
For many people, discipleship is primarily understood as growing in biblical knowledge — learning more Scripture, gaining deeper understanding, and becoming more theologically informed. While those things matter, they are not the essence of what Jesus meant by discipleship.
In Scripture, discipleship is not defined first by what we know, but by how we live. It is a life shaped by obedience to Jesus.
In this teaching, we look at what Jesus actually calls His followers to, and how obedience is not about earning God’s favour or living under restriction, but about walking in the life He created us for. His commands are not burdensome — they are good, wise, and given for our flourishing.
As we come to understand this, discipleship becomes less about accumulating knowledge, and more about faithfully following the One who leads us into life.

What kind of King are you actually looking for?
On Palm Sunday, the crowds welcomed Jesus with celebration and praise—shouting “Hosanna” and declaring Him King. But within days, many would walk away. Why? Because Jesus didn’t become the kind of king they expected.
In this teaching from Matthew 21, we explore the tension at the heart of Palm Sunday: Jesus is truly King—but not in the way we naturally desire. He doesn’t come to grasp power, but to lay it down. Not to conquer by force, but to overcome through humility, sacrifice, and mercy.
This message invites us to wrestle with a deeper question:
Do we just celebrate Jesus as King—or are we willing to follow Him?
Because His kingdom looks nothing like the world’s.
And following Him means embracing a different kind of greatness—
one marked by humility, selfless love, and mercy.
The good news?
The path He calls us to walk—the way of the cross—is not the path to defeat, but to life.
Listen in and discover what it really means to follow Jesus as King.

This week, we explore the topic of God's blessings.
It’s common to associate God’s blessing with favourable circumstances — provision, success, open doors, or a sense of spiritual experience. Others speak of blessing as something that can be released, spoken over someone, or encountered in a particular moment.
But is that how Scripture actually defines God’s blessing?
In this teaching, we look at how God’s blessing unfolds across Scripture and how it is ultimately revealed in Jesus. Rather than something we chase or wait to receive, we see that God’s greatest blessing has already been given to us in Christ — reconciliation with God, the truth that guides our lives, and the hope of eternal life in His kingdom.
And when we begin to understand that, it reshapes not only how we think about blessing, but how we live — with confidence, stability, and faith in what God has already given.

For many people, God’s will can feel like a puzzle to solve — as though there is a single perfect path hidden somewhere ahead of us, and one wrong decision could take us off course. That way of thinking can leave believers anxious, constantly trying to decode what God wants them to do next.
In this teaching, we look at what Scripture actually reveals about God’s will and how that understanding reshapes the way we approach decisions, direction, and everyday life.

Rather than relying on cultural assumptions or personal preferences about who Jesus is, we look closely at His own words. In several key moments recorded in the Gospels, Jesus makes striking claims about His authority, His identity, and His relationship to the Father.
These claims leave us with an unavoidable question: Who is Jesus, really? And if He truly is who He says He is, what does that mean for our faith, our worship, and our lives?

In this episode of Upwards, we explore what it means to truly be thankful—and how thankfulness goes far beyond the words we say at the table. Paul reminds us in Colossians 3:15 that thankfulness is not just an action, but a posture of the heart.
Together, we’ll examine how thankfulness differs from entitlement, and how these heart postures shape everything we do—our relationships, our service, and our response to God’s grace. Through stories like the Parable of the Prodigal Sonand the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, we see that gratitude grows out of recognizing God’s unmerited favor and the depth of His mercy in Christ.
As we grasp the grace we’ve received, our lives begin to reflect thankfulness in love, forgiveness, and sacrificial living—showing the world what it looks like to live upward, focused on Jesus.

In this episode of Upwards, we explore how following Jesus transforms not only our hearts but also our speech. Paul urges us to “rid ourselves” of slander, filthy language, and lies—three destructive patterns that easily spill from our old nature. Our words carry immense power: they can tear down or bring life, destroy or heal.
Together, we’ll see how slander devalues those made in God’s image, how crude or careless words reveal a heart still ruled by self, and how lying grows out of self-interest. But in Christ, we’ve been given a new identity—and with it, a new way to speak.
As we set our hearts and minds on Him, our words become instruments of grace: to build, bless, and reflect the character of Jesus.

In this episode of Upwards, we look at Paul’s call to “put to death” elevated, earthly emotional reactions: anger, rage, and malice (Col. 3:8). These intense patterns start in the heart, spill over in our responses, and often cause harm. But in Christ, our emotions are elevated in a new—and better—way. Paul points us to the things above: compassion, patience, and kindness (Col. 3:12–14). Together, we’ll explore how these virtues reflect our true identity in Christ and transform the way we react to offences and disagreements.

This summer, God is calling us to repentance—an intentional turning back to Him.
In our lead-in messages from Joshua 24, we were reminded that drifting away from God often happens quietly. It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it's through the slow pull of distraction, the weight of unresolved shame, or the pursuit of our own ambitions. But no matter how far we’ve wandered, God's faithfulness has not changed.
This new series takes us into the book of Joel—a prophetic wake-up call spoken into a moment of crisis. The people of Joel’s time were facing devastation: crops lost, joy gone, and a deep spiritual emptiness they couldn’t ignore. But in the middle of all that loss, God speaks—not with condemnation, but with compassion: “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart.” (Joel 2:12)
Through this series, we’ll be invited to do just that. To stop and examine the condition of our lives. To recognize where we’ve drifted or grown numb. To hear God’s voice calling us—not to guilt or fear, but to restoration, renewal, and life.
Whether you’re returning to faith or turning toward God for the first time, the invitation is the same:
There’s still time. Come back. He’s waiting.

This summer, God is calling us as a church to repentance — an intentional turning back to Him. In this message from Joshua 24, we’re reminded that drifting away from God happens quietly, often through life’s distractions, shame, and personal ambitions. This summer, God is calling us as a church to repentance — an intentional turning back to Him. In this message from Joshua 24, we’re reminded that drifting away from God happens quietly, often through life’s distractions, shame, and personal ambitions. But no matter how distant we’ve grown, God’s faithfulness remains.

We pour ourselves into so many things—careers, fitness, family, home projects, even hobbies. But how much effort are we putting into our faith?
In this message, we turn to 2 Peter, where the apostle Peter calls us to “make every effort” to build our lives on Christ. His words, written near the end of his life, aren’t just spiritual advice—they’re a heartfelt reminder that God has already given us everything we need for a godly life. Now it’s our turn to respond with intention.
We’ll explore what it means to add to our faith qualities like goodness, self-control, perseverance, and love—not as burdens, but as pathways to a fuller, stronger life in Christ.
Ultimately, Peter challenges us to take a closer look at our spiritual investment—and to rediscover the joy and strength that come from building on what God has already given.

Last week, we heard the powerful story of a man born blind who encountered Jesus and came away forever changed. His healing was more than physical—it was a picture of how faith and obedience can open our eyes to the truth of who God is.
This week, we continue the story in John 9, as the focus shifts to those who claimed they could see—yet ended up blind to the work of God right in front of them. As we explore the growing tension between the healed man and the religious leaders, we’ll be confronted with a sobering truth: spiritual pride can keep us from seeing Jesus clearly.
Through this passage, we’re invited to examine our hearts. Are we still open to Jesus? Still humble enough to be led, challenged, and changed by Him? Or have we become so certain in our own understanding that we no longer see what God is doing?
This is a message about remaining open. Remaining teachable. And allowing Jesus to keep shaping us long after we've first believed.

We all wrestle with suffering. Whether it’s our own pain or someone else’s, we can be quick to look for blame or assume condemnation. But what if, instead, suffering is the very place where God wants to reveal His grace?
In this episode, we explore the powerful story of the man born blind in John 9—a story that challenges our assumptions about hardship and invites us to see suffering through Jesus’ eyes. This isn’t just a miracle story; it’s a call to trust God, even when His instructions don’t make sense, and to live a life so transformed that others begin to ask, “What happened to you?”
You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your own spiritual journey, respond in obedience, and live in such a way that points others to the One who opens eyes and restores lives. Because when Jesus steps into your story, everything changes—and your life becomes a testimony to His grace.

In this teaching, Dan explores a life-giving truth we often forget: God isn’t trying to take from you—He wants more for you.
Maybe faith has started to feel like a burden—like God is always asking for more to appease Him: more effort, more time, more sacrifice. But the truth is that God is a loving and generous Father. He doesn’t ask you to lay things down to leave you empty—but to remove what destroys, so He can fill you with His gift of life.
This teaching is an invitation to release the pressure to perform and receive the life God created you for—a life marked by joy, shaped by grace, and rooted in the abundant love of a Father who truly wants more for you than from you.

Series Overview: The Beautiful Gospel
The gospel is not just the beginning of our faith—it is the heart of it. It tells the story of a God who created us for relationship, of our turning away, and of His relentless pursuit to bring us back and restore our lives through Jesus Christ. But over time, it’s easy for this message to become distorted—clouded by fear, pride, culture, or even religion.
This series invites us to return to the clarity and beauty of the gospel. We’ll explore epistles to the church which expose common ways we lose focus—and show how the gospel calls us back to what is true. Along the way, we’ll be challenged to trade pride for love, performance for grace, and fear for trust. The goal isn’t just understanding the gospel—it’s building our lives on it.

Joseph's story is one of the greatest stories of faith in the Bible. Many of the details of his life have a striking resemblance to the life of Jesus, which is not only amazing but shows us that God’s plan of salvation can be seen throughout the Bible. Additionally, Joseph is great example of faith for us as followers of Christ in a world that is far from ideal or easy.
