Following on from the recent announcement of their much anticipated, vibrant and raucous debut self-titled album (set for release on 16th January 2026 via Year0001), host Izzy caught up with lead vocalist Max from London based band Rifle to discuss their latest music. Rifle have just released a brand new single and a brand new punk rock anthem, 'Worthless' featuring The Chisel. " 'Worthless' is one of the first times we’d bought more of an idea to the studio rather than a fully fledged song. The track came together great but felt as though it was missing a crucial ingredient that we just couldn’t put our finger on.
As the recording day reached late afternoon we decided to call upon the help of our mate Cal Graham." "The Chisel are an instrumental part of our band’s career, playing our earliest shows and eventually touring with them, some of our highlights as Rifle have been shared with them. The back and forth vocals that came together in around less than hour really proved to be exactly what the track needed and has since become an absolute favourite of ours." Dragging gut-punch proto-punk through the byways of anarcho and UK pub rock, Rifle is the sound of revenge yelled by the damned sons of London's borderlands. These boys are battered, kicked in, cut loose, and furious.
Initially, Max (vocals) and Ross (bass) bonded over music at their dead-end jobs, eventually meeting after work in Camden to commit sonic atrocities until the small hours. Rifle formed gradually like a demented social club, completing the lineup with Flynn (drums), Albert and Louis (guitar) as the party grew louder and more sordid with each session. After laying down some demos, it wasn't long before they found themselves supporting London group The Chisel, and Australian shed rockers The Chats, proving quickly that their bite is far worse than their bark.
Since bludgeoning the European festival scene at Reading and Leeds, Venezia Hardcore Fest, Rebellion, and Sjock, Rifle have gone from strength to strength, always sharpening their edge for what comes next. When talking about their debut album, the band say, "As an album, RIFLE centres on the working-class experience. Some of the choruses and vocal hooks were inspired by the chants you’d hear on football terraces, with that natural sing-along quality. We also wanted to capture the sound and identity of being a London band, which I hope comes through on the album. A lot of the music we listened to while recording has a strong London identity. Groups like Cockney Rejects and Cock Sparrer may not have a big overlap in sound, but their lyrical focus and overall ethos definitely define them as London bands. That’s something we were aiming to achieve as well."
"This album was our first time recording everyone’s parts separately. We made sure we were all actively listening to what everyone else had laid down, constantly offering suggestions and keeping the encouragement flowing. And of course, recording with Jonah, who produced the album with us, meant there was no shortage of ideas and support." Rifle's debut album will be released 16th January 2026 by Stockholm's YEAR0001 label. The self-titled LP evolves their sound with even more punch and screeching feedback.
Rifle's political charge is stronger still, with No King, Protest and United State taking aim and harnessing their anarchic drive to destroy the hateful institutions around them.

Our resident host Grace Sanders caught up with the extremely talented Josie Ho. Josie Ho's masterclass recently took place at the UK’s renowned National Film and Television School (NFTS) and showcased sample works by Josie as both a producer and actress. The class explored her artistic vision in fashion, music, film, and the combination of her multimedia interests; her experience of being an international film producer between the East and the West; her mission to support young talents and beyond. Students at the school had an opportunity to engage with Josie and ask her questions about her career. Josie is the first Hong Kong artist to be invited to the NFTS.
"I think the serendipity of timing and entertainment is an often underestimated point [...] If a project that was conceived two years ago lands on a certain day, will it still be within the zeitgeist, or not? [...] When we lose the best timing to launch a movie or CD or whatever, it hurts. I have lived through [that experience] but I never give up. I tell myself to wait, find a different angle, spot your next opportunity, and don't let anyone divert your next chance."

Currently residing in San Francisco, the seventh grader is active in the professional theater scene in the Bay Area. Most recently, she has played ‘Baby June’ in Bay Area Musicals' production of “Gypsy” and received rave reviews for her performance including one critic saying, “Berman shows the benefit of wide experience for such a young actress, and might well be described as a prodigy” and another stating “Emma Berman as the crackerjack younger June who might even steal this show.” She also played ‘Ivanka’ in 42nd Street Moon’s production of “Once,” which won Best Musical of the Year by Bay Area Theater Awards and was part of the American Conservatory Theater’s production of “A Christmas Carol” for two years.
As a young performer dedicated to her craft, Emma studies on an ongoing basis with acting coach Melinda Darlington Bach and dialects coach Bettina Devin on her British and Italian accents, but the actress also speaks fluent Russian as she grew up in a bilingual household. Additionally, Emma has trained in New York with A Class Act and Broadway Artists Alliance.
Outside of acting, Emma continues to live a fast-paced life, always keeping busy. She loves to draw, bake and race go karts with her older brother and has been a regular at Sonoma Raceway last few years. In college, Emma wants to study to become a storyboard artist and director and hopes to one day work at Pixar. She is also a huge fan of the app Calm and would love to read books on tape for them like two of her favorite actors, Mandy Moore and Kate Winslet.

The multi-layered visual album aspires to embody Nigerian author Chinua Achebe’s perception of storytelling; the Drummer calls the people, the Warrior fights the war, the Storyteller recounts the events, creating history, memory and meaning for those who survive. We caught up with Luke Romick, Vice President of Marketing & Partnerships at Thirst Project, the world’s largest youth water non-profit organization. Unlike most 20-somethings, Luke has worked at the same company for nearly a decade in a range of roles from intern & volunteer to now the Vice President of Marketing & Partnerships.
Luke works with Thirst Project, a unique and diverse non-profit organization located in the heart of Los Angeles, to work alongside hundreds of thousands of young people across the world to end the global water crisis. In his nine year tenure, Luke has developed & executed influencer marketing campaigns with Angela Kinsey from 'The Office', the cast of 'Mean Girls' and YouTube sensation, The ACE Family that have raised & reached millions. In addition, Luke has also developed & executed brand marketing campaigns with brands including Molson-Coors, Paramount Pictures & Stance Socks among others to raise awareness and funds to end the water crisis. In the last decade, Thirst Project has raised $10 Million+, 100% of which has been used to fund the construction of over 3.3K water projects in 13 countries, giving clean water to more than 500K people for life. Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Luke is a Midwestern guy who graduated from Denison University with a degree in Communications and Environmental Studies. While in College, Luke won both the Wooden Citizenship Cup, given annually to the best Role Model in College Sports in 2016 and was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, for his on-the-field performance in Football & Track and off-the-field action with Thirst Project and other service initiatives. Luke joins Peyton Manning, Drew Brees & Tim Tebow as the only other athletes to win both of these service awards in their college career. In the future, Luke hopes to continue to expand his role with Thirst Project and will always strive to make the world a better place.

Johnson’s 15 Year old girlfriend through his time attending Freedom High School in Bethlehem Pennsylvania…”I love Karen as a character because she is so much more than what you initially see. Karen can easily be labelled as the popular rich girl, who’s very materialistic and sometimes kind of mean”, the actress explains. Going onto point out that it was initially a challenge to workout Karen’s many layers, but felt she understood her on a much deeper level. Through her preparation for the role, she explains how she could not ignore the reason behind Dwayne’s infatuation with her. To help the audience understand why Dwayne would want to pursue such a high maintenance character, Duncan did her best to play against the stereotype, where she could. In doing so, discovering that Karen was not necessarily a mean girl; simply an individual who did not hide her opinions – without the filter.

Finlay speaks to The Voice UK 2020 Semi Finalist Lucy Calcines. In 2020, she became a contestant and semi-finalist of the television show The Voice UK, reaching over 16 million views on her blind audition alone. Performing her own remix of the Latin hit “Mi Gente” by J Balvin & Willy William, she achieved a four chair turn by superstar coaches Meghan Trainor, Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, and will.i.am. Lucy proceeded to join will.i.am’s team leading her to being mentored by the producer and member of The Black Eyed Peas.
Lucy Calcines quickly became the most watched contestant in the shortest period of time up to date in the history of The Voice UK. Being a bilingual artist, singing in both Spanish and English makes her versatile and allows Lucy to stand out in different genres from Pop to Trap and Reggaeton. Finlay sits down with Los Angeles based Actress Emily Tosta. Well known for her roles in #NETFLIX Mayans M.C. (2018), NETFLIX Party of Five (2020) and Willy’s Wonderland, co-starring Nicholas Cage!
As most people looking to make it in the arts can attest, the rise to the top for Emily Tosta wasn’t always sunshine, rainbows and positive affirmations. As a child, she was all too aware of the effects other people’s words can have on you. No stranger to the cruelty of others, she was often taunted by her peers simply for following her dreams.
“I’ve been bullied since I was a girl,” she admirably shares. “I was bullied in my country for wanting to pursue acting or for doing theatre in school or for being on commercials.”
Tosta’s accomplishments should have been celebrated, but as is the case for most school children seeking to excel, her proudest moments were tainted and used to taunt her, not that the young actress let that stand in her way.
“Obviously, now I laugh about it, but it was definitely very sad back in the day. Then coming to this country, it was a culture shock. In school, I wasn’t used to any of the things that the other kids were used to. Even just like switching classes, I didn’t know you had to switch classes!”
Looking back fondly at her innocence when first flung into the American education system, she finds humour in her confusion with US customs all those years ago. But at the time, that confusion was used by those around her as fuel to target her. Now, it’s safe to say she’s had the last laugh, and seeks to use those experiences to encourage those in a similar position to rise above.
Finlay sits down with newcomer Actor Grayson Gurnsey. Fresh from making his mark on the new series Virgin River, Grayson's repertoire extends to The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019); Return of Pendragon (2019); and his lead in Game On (2015 - Comedy series).

Rhenzy Feliz; known for Runaways (2017), Teen Wolf (2011) and All Together Now (2020) speaks to Finlay Christie about his new film All Together Now and his time on Marvel Runaways. Rhenzy graduated from Santa Monica high School only a few years ago and has not stopped working since. During his senior year, he booked his first professional acting job, joining season 2 of “Casual”, the Jason Reitman produced dramedy for Hulu. He played ‘Spencer’, a high school student living with cancer. Rhenzy went on to recur in the final season of the popular MTV series, “Teen Wolf” starring Dylan O’brien and Tyler Posey.
Following the release of four highly-praised singles (‘Confessional’, ‘Saint of the Sinners’, ‘Honest Men’ and ‘Away with the Fairies’), Janet prepares to deliver the penultimate single ‘Holy Water’ today, May 22nd 2020, ahead of her hotly-anticipated concept album ‘Confessional’ release on June 5th 2020.
With a total of nineteen performers on the track, including legends from the traditional Irish scene such as Eoin Dillon, Brian Fleming, and Peter Browne, ‘Holy Water’ captures a riotous, celebratory party atmosphere, with an infectious chorus and rhythm you can’t help but stomp your feet to. Her Irish roots are prominently showcased, with turns from the exceptional musicians providing fiddle, uilleann pipes, bodhrán and accordion parts, all recorded at Westland Studios, Dublin. ‘Holy Water’s energetic and high-spirited feel is a simple expression of the relief and release felt when a significant milestone has been reached. Janet explains; “I wanted to make this sound like something you’d hear in an Irish bar, people having fun and being boisterous. It’s a throwback to a time I felt happy, with close friends enjoying good music from back home. It’s a celebration that the past lives in the past and the future is unwritten.”
‘Holy Water’ almost drowned under the weight of personal setbacks inflicted on the singer as she navigated her way through a decade-long struggle with demons including alcoholism, as revealed in intimate detail in her autobiography ‘My Confessional’, also released June 5th 2020. When all the drinking became too much, and at the insistence of herself, Janet sought help and began the journey of recovery. The year was 2015. No longer staring down an empty bottle, Janet’s creativity returned, allowing for the concept of Confessional to creep into her mind.
A deeply personal song, ‘Holy Water’ is adored by Janet and producer by Jonathan Quarmby (Lewis Capaldi, Tom Walker, Benjamin Clementine). It’s therefore of no surprise that the track just flowed out of Janet’s fingers in a burst of inspiration. “In less than 30 minutes, the ‘Holy Water’ we now know was written. Whether or not it was any good, I had no idea. I took it to my producer the next day who helped me finish the track; ‘It’s either so simple that it’s genius… or… well… crap,’ he said! Despite its subject matter – or maybe because of it – ‘Holy Water’ is my favourite track on the album. I wanted this song to be representative of the ‘up’ after the acceptance of my issues. The feeling of relief I got when the great weight had been lifted off my shoulders. The album was originally called Holy Water and I wanted this song to close the record. A happy ending to all of the hell I put myself through,” Janet confirms.
Janet’s successful return to the music scene as a homegrown indie artist sees this life-affirming track setting out her stall post-lockdown: I’m here to stay. ‘Holy Water’ is the penultimate single from Confessional, released next month, and is sure to be a live favourite once touring is back on the table. Finlay speaks to JAKE MANLEY, lead of the hit Netflix series THE ORDER: Season 2. The horror/fantasy series follows Manley’s character ‘Jack Morton’ as he is thrust into a world of magic and monsters while he uncovers dark family secrets. Season 2 released June 18th and is currently the #2 show on Netflix. Manley can also be seen starring in INFAMOUS opposite Bella Thorne, released June 12th. INFAMOUS is a Gen-Z Bonnie & Clyde story; him and Thorne star as ‘Dean’ and ‘Arielle,’ a young couple robbing their way across the southern United States, posting their criminal acts to social media and going viral in the process.
