A 79-year-old man recently visited a beauty school and told the director that he wanted to learn how to use the curling wand. He was paired with a student and mannequin and quickly learned how to operate the curling wand.
He's turning 80 this month. I just don’t think you would find too many men who would be willing to do this. But he did – and since his initial visit, both he and his wife have visited the college to express how thankful they are to everybody there.
The director said everybody is impressed with his new professional skills…especially his wife. And from what I hear…her hair is looking FANTASTIC!

Mom Kristen pulled into a gas station in Moody, Alabama. Her nine year-old son Ethan and his six-year-old little sister Audrey were in the backseat. While Kristen pumped gas, a teenage suspect jumped in the driver’s seat and flashed a gun at Kristen (who happens to be pregnant with Baby #3). She desperately tried to stop him by lunging on top of him and removing the keys, but that’s when he pulled his gun on her.
In all the commotion, Ethan managed to get out of the back seat, walk around to the other side and unclick his sister from her car seat. When the kids were out of the car, the suspect drove off with it and was later caught with another suspect and has been charged with multiple felonies.

I have a student that sits by my desk. Every afternoon, I move his desk about six feet from mine.
The next day, it somehow ends up as close as it can be to my desk.
Today I asked...”How come your desk is always so close to mine, even though I move it EVERY SINGLE AFTERNOON?” He replied, in front of the whole class...”I move it because I LOVE YOU!” And all was right in the world and God sends me a reminder of my purpose just when I needed it!

The Story Behind "The Afghan" That Was Given To Spencer Graves' Mom

In early December, a woman outside St Louis, MO got in contact with nursing homes and long term care facilities to inquire about what the residents might need for the holidays. "Socks, sandals, toothbrushes, toothpaste, general hygiene items, etc." were the main list. Erin Cox put this challenge out to her social media platforms and the donations began to pour in. At one of the collection sites, an 80 year-old woman walked up to Cox and said "I have this afghan that I would like to donate. This afghan was made by a dear friend of mine and has brought me so much joy." Cox, emotional from the story, suggested that maybe she should keep the afghan. "No." The woman insisted. "I was just diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and don't have much time. I'd like to see this go to a senior that can enjoy it as much as I have."
The afghan was sent to Southwestern Virginia where my Mom, Dayl, is now the caretaker.
Just when they thought they would have to part with their family treasure and good neighbor steps in and saves the day.

Graduation day at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was extra special this year…and that’s because it featured Melody Ormond graduating -- alongside her 75-year-old grandmother, Pat.
Pat had gone to college before, but only had a few credits.
So, back in 2017, she found herself retired and admittedly bored. Melody stepped up and suggested she enroll in school.
That’s where the adventure started. Melody and Pat became classmates and worked together to earn their degrees.
After working hard for more than three years, Melody and Pat graduated. The school held a socially-distanced graduation ceremony and guests were not allowed in person.
But, that didn’t matter too much as Melody and Pat because they each had a family member there to celebrate them -- each other.
