Do you often find yourself worrying about an outcome that hasn’t happened yet? Stressing about the ‘what ifs’? Same!

I was reading something recently that has really stuck with me. To paraphrase, it was along the lines of “If you allow yourself to worry about something that hasn’t happened yet, you’re allowing yourself to worry about it twice.”

If something is out of your control, it doesn’t need to take up space in the present. In today’s short and sweet episode, I explain how to move past the ‘what if’ fear and uncertainty so you don’t get stuck.

What’s in this episode:

  • Determining If It’s Something You Can Control (or Can’t).
  • Working Through the ‘What Ifs’ and Dismissing Them.
  • Controlling How We Respond and React.
  • Living In the Present.

Hi guys! Today’s episode is short and sweet, which is perfect because it’s all about giving yourself permission to rest! It’s taken me 10 years of running a business, but I finally realize allowing yourself to rest is actually setting yourself up for success!

In this episode, I explain why rest doesn’t mean laziness, why your body and mind both need rest, and why “rest for me” sometimes is just sitting with a pen and paper and allowing my thoughts to wander. Plus, I share my secret to decluttering thoughts: Brain Dumping!

What’s in this episode:

  • Why It’s Okay to Rest.
  • What’s Brain Dumping?
  • Using Your List as a Strategy and System.

ABOUT AMBER

Dr. Amber Manning, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with nearly 20 years experience as a nurse and nearly 10 years as a nurse practitioner in various settings. Her outlook on health and wellness is simple: find the root cause and fix it. She is able to do this with connection and building a relationship by getting to know her clients not just in a medical sense, but know and understand their deepest desires, big scary goals, and what they want out of life and IN their lives. Dr. Manning draws her inspiration not just for how she approaches care but WHY she approaches care in this way from her grandmothers. Both of them knew how to take care of people. And isn't taking care of people the goal?! Dr. Manning has been married for 6 years and has 3 daughters who range in age from 4 months to 13 years old. She recently self-published her guided Journal, “GREAT, As I Am,” available on Amazon. Running is her therapy and she ran her entire pregnancy. In fact, she ran a 5k 2 weeks before giving birth. Megan shares openly about her experience with anxiety and depression, and how taking care of her physical health impacts her mental health and vice versa. She was once an overwhelmed mom of three who had no idea who she was, or what she needed to be fulfilled. Now she is prioritizing self care and good mental hygiene to be the best mom and wife that she can be.

Her life has been everything but traditional, and she shares all the ups and downs with raw transparency. Her ultimate goal is to normalize all the parts of motherhood that no one tells you about so that other moms don’t feel so alone in their own journeys.

Today I have a very special guest. In our local community, this is that person everyone knows (and everybody freakin’ loves her). She radiates positivity and sunshine.

In today’s episode, I’m interviewing Ally Kennedy, owner of Grateful Acres. She’s sharing her personal journey during the pandemic that led to a dream coming to fruition – Grateful Acres. Plus she shares a fun secret: animals don’t talk back, or judge you!

What’s in this episode:

  • How Ally and Nicole Met.
  • Ally’s Personal Journey to Starting Grateful Acres.
  • What Is a Care Farm.
  • Navigating Grief and Asking for Help.
  • Choosing Positivity and Joy.
  • It’s Never Too Late to Make Your Dream a Reality.

ABOUT ALLY

Ally is the owner of Grateful Acres. After the loss of her parents and during a pandemic, she found that every morning while in the barn caring for the horse, Miss Coolie, she felt at peace. Breathing with Miss Coolie and having the calm wash over her was like her own kind of therapy. Ally also knew that she wanted to do something to honor her parents; she knew she wanted to reach out and help others that may also be struggling.

What started with the smell of a horse's breath and four little Silkie chickens has since grown into a farm of beautiful animals and a Care Farm for the people. MEMBER TESTIMONIALS

  • Lauren - “Nicole J is 100% More Than Clothes. This community of warm, kind, supportive women is exactly what I needed. Friendships I’ve formed in this group are EVERYTHING. I’m so grateful for this space. The bonus of first access can’t be beat either.

  • Candace - “The community that Nicole created is so special. I met now one of my best friends through it. This group is so supportive whether it’s to celebrate a win or a shoulder to lean on when times are hard.”

  • Jess - “Thank you Nicole for creating this group! This community of women constantly uplift and motivate each other. It is a safe space to share whatever is on your mind. I am so thankful to have met many new friends in this group in just a short time via monthly meetups, etc. First launch access is definitely a plus but such a small part of the amazing friendships, support and FUN times you get with this group! I would recommend it to anyone.”

  • Kelli - “Because I’m not a local gal, I initially joined for the perks of free shipping and first access. Needless to say, this group has grown to mean so much more than that. Being a part of this diverse community of women has made me feel like I’m never alone navigating the ups and downs of the rollercoaster of life. I always look forward to Nicole’s weekly Facebook lives and they have become such a part of my wellness routine. I can’t wait to one day meet the women in this community who I already feel like I know!”

  • Kristen - “From the first time I entered NJB I always felt SO welcome. Nicole had mentioned the Self Love Club a few months later and that it would be opening for new members, and I couldn't be happier that she did. I have met SO many amazing ladies and have such a welcoming space to share whatever is going on knowing I will be supported and with honest answers. This tribe of women is a force and one you want to be a part of. It's women supporting other women and it is just what I needed!”

  • Penne: “Nicole is one of a kind! You purchase from her boutique then you find out she also quickly becomes your friend. This membership has opened up a lifeline of friends, and a support group you didn’t even know you needed. At any age, these women are a fabulous group to be a part of. Everyone needs more good people in their lives! Thank you Nikki and crew, you make everyday better.”

  • Patti - “I found the boutique through my daughter. I never thought I could shop there because of my age. I didn’t want to look “silly” or that I was trying too hard. I am in my mid 50s and absolutely have fallen in love with NJB. Most of my closet is from there. When Niki announced the Self Love Club, I couldn’t wait to sign up. My schedule doesn’t allow me to attend all of the events. However, the online community is amazing! The early access is pretty cool, too!”

It seems as if everyone is always chasing this idea of “balance”. If you ask me, I’d say that balance isn’t real. Balance is one of those things that so many people are striving to reach but can never quite get there. In this episode, I am chatting about why I think balance is BS and what you might actually be looking for if you’ve been seeking balance. I talk about being able to adapt to changes and how social media creates a false perception of balance. I also talk about giving up the idea of balance and my advice for making it through the day and giving 100% to everything that you do instead of attempting to have balance.

What’s in this episode:

  • What Nicole thinks of when she hears the word “balance”
  • Why she doesn’t think balance is real
  • Setting yourself up for disappointment with high expectations of balance
  • How comparison (and social media highlight reels) will make you feel pressured to find balance
  • What you may be looking for that’s not actually “balance” such as productivity
  • How everybody’s idea of balance is different
  • How getting through the day and giving 100% is enough
  • Being able to adapt to change and accept that not everything is going to get done

Are you ready to start giving 100% each and every day? Today I share what it means to me to give 100% and why it’s not even about “balance” but recognizing where you can put your best foot forward in your personal life and in your career or business. I break down the tools I use to help myself give 100% by prioritizing my top three things-to-do and putting all of my effort into those tasks and activities when I’ve allotted time to do them. I also talk about the importance of giving yourself grace even when the day doesn’t go as planned and you have to complete your top three things at a later time.

What’s in this episode:

  • Nicole’s thoughts on the New Year
  • What it means to give 100% every day
  • Why she’s okay with not being a “great mom” every single day
  • How it’s not about balance but recognizing where you can put your best foot forward
  • Prioritizing your top three things and giving that 100% of your time and effort
  • What she does if she doesn’t accomplish her top three tasks for the day
