In today's study Pastor Dave takes us through Luke 8:1-15 where we see a warning against being careless in our hearing of the truth. When hearing the truth of the gospel we need to then do something with that knowledge or we might find ourselves in one of the categories of "soil" that we see in today's text.
Soil 1: The way side soil (Hardened heart)
Soil 2: Hard soil (no depth)
Soil 3: Weed infested soil (A crowded, divided heart)
Soil 4: Fruit bearing soil (Honest, patient growth by staying in God's Word)
Sometimes we can get offended when people we know won't receive us or take us seriously when we talk about the Lord. Jesus gives a message about this topic in today's text and shows that they might not receive the message you are giving, but it is one they desperately need, so give it and be on your way.
A lot of today's preaching is so weak that if it was poison it wouldn't kill you and if it was medicine it wouldn't heal you. In today's text in the book of Luke, John preaches a dynamic and resounding message on repentance.
There are 3 main themes we see through today's message from Pastor Dave:
The wilderness teaches us to hear the voice of the Lord.
Prison places are areas that God speaks in mighty ways
When you cry out to God, He will show you great things and he WILL guide you.
Life can be very busy, we can suffer incredible trials and we can also get so active in "doing church" that we lose sight of Him and take His presence for granted. In today's message Pastor Dave challenges us to examine our walks with Christ and see if we have lost track of Jesus in our daily lives.
In today's study Pastor Dave will touch on parenting and how parents are to prepare their children in the ways of the Lord, much like the Spirit prepared John in the wilderness for his future ministry. We also receive a challenge in today's text to walk in the Spirit in our daily lives and to show our kids how to have contact with the world, without being contaminated by it.
In order to be ready for what God wants to do in and through your life you must be in a ready state...a state that is filled with the Spirit!
The world is full of dogma and traditions about Mary that are not true and through today's text Pastor Dave will bring clarity to who Mary was and show us that with God, NOTHING is impossible.

In today's study Pastor Dave dives into 1 Sam. 30:25-31 and shows in great detail the kindness and mercy of our eternal King!
The hand of the Lord works in very practical ways at times. We see that through today's text as David recovers ALL, just as God had promised him He would.
Every believer will struggle with wanting to do things their way over the Lord's or to just give up trying to do things the Lord's way all together. King David is also struggling with this and thinks he feels good about it at first but it is a false rest. We see thought today's study an advanced class on how to have endurance amidst a trial.
As we pick back up in the life of King Saul we see that the Lord being silent is now a reality of the soul for King Saul. He faces enemies on all sides and the Lord is not with him now; God is turning him over to himself.
We will see through this study that when making a decisions we need to remember these simple truth's:
God is never in a hurryWe need to wait on HimThink it through & pray it though with the LordWhen making a potentially bad decision, the worst thing you can do is do it speedily. Self talk can be dangerous if not monitored closely. When going through tribulation, avoid the temptation to change locations thinking it will solve your problems.
In today's text we see David learning from his previous experience in chapter 25 and knowing that he needs to let God deal with his enemies. We then see the contrast of this Godly wisdom in King Saul, realizing finally that he has played a fool, and wasted 20 years of his life in the flesh.
It's not always the big giants in your life that can do the most damage, often it is the little foxes that pick away at your life and spoil the fruit the Lord wants to produce in and through your life.
In today's text we see that even when David could have rebelled against God and killed Saul, He cared more about displeasing the Lord than having life be "fair" for him. God calls us to forgive, to show grace and to always seek reconciliation with people who have wronged us...but...the Lord also shows us to have boundaries and that it's ok to have space with people who have wronged us.
We can revert to a mindset of faith plus works very quickly when we get our eyes off the cross and that our salvation has nothing to do with our abilities. We can learn from the thief on the cross in today's text and take assurance that all Jesus wants from you, is you, and to just call Him Lord.
We all need people who are used to counsel us in life but we also needs hearts that can receive the counsel. When someone is in a place of total pride, they won't heed any input or correction and they find themselves in one of the most dangerous places in life.
The Lord is never shocked by your struggles or lack of faith. He knew you completely, and still called you His own despite your failings. The enemy always overestimates your failures but he also underestimates the grace given to you by God!
In today's study we see the importance of allowing God to work and resting in His plan vs. manipulation, lies and trying to make something happen when God says otherwise.
In today's study we see how King David handled trials. When unexpected things are throw at you in life, what do you do? We find David in today's text ducking spears and continuing to do the ministry he was called to do... even amidst adversity.

Rather than fight against God's Will & be consumed by envy and jealousy...Jonathan chooses the humble path. Jonathan shows us an example of having true faith, humility, and how to walk with the living God daily.
When God calls you to do something, you need to be yourself when doing it. Wear your own armor like David did and rely on who God made YOU to be in your walk with the Lord. You can never fight the fight God has for you in life wearing someone else's gear.
Pastor Dave shares from 1 Samuel 17:28-37 where we see King David's previous experiences with trials to become fuel for his future victory against Goliath. There is a lot of reasons to want to numb our senses and dull our spirits in the process...but, we can't replace the Spirit's work in our lives with worldly numbing agents. Dulling the Spirit within you, is one of the greatest threats to our walks with the Lord.
Amidst the trials, problems, and failures we experience in life...God always has a plan through it all. He is never surprised by what us going on in your life...so take courage Christian, God is with you in the storm!
Saul is pointing the blame at everyone else and the Lord uses the prophet Samuel to confront him in his sin. Today we have the Holy Spirit to do the same in our lives.
In today's study Pastor Dave exhorts us that when God is on your side, it doesn't matter who rises up against you. The thing we have to keep in mind is that the Lord never asks us to win the victories, He will do that, He just asks that you be faithful and obedient to His direction. We are simply called...to yield!

The enemy is trying to remove your sword (God's Word) just as the enemy was trying to remove the weapons of God's people in our text today. This is to keep them under the subjection of their rule and the enemy is trying to do this to us, by keeping us out of God's Word!

In today's study, Pastor Dave talks about how to get back to God when we have found ourselves distanced from Him. God wants to use you in mighty ways Christian, so dive into 1 Samuel 7:3 and see how to serve Him!
Israel was using the ark like a lucky rabbits foot and often we can be guilty of doing the same type of thinking, when in reality God is calling us to something deeper!
If you want to hear from God and be used by Him, you need to take the posture of a prophet! Pastor Dave expounds on this subject and shows how to take the posture of a prophet in our daily lives.
Pastor Dave's points on being a prophet used by God: 1. Minister to God First 2. Stay in close proximity to His presence. 3. Have the right heart language 4. Be humble in Spirit 5. Be a man/woman of the Word 6. Understand that it can be lonely

The days are growing to be exceedingly dark and deceiving. That is why we need to be sober, vigilant, and ready to stand for the truth till He calls us home!
There are a few schools of thought when it comes to the subject of the millennium reign of Christ in the book of Revelation. We need to live with an active view of the world through the lens of scripture in order to be separate and stand for truth amidst a fallen world.
