What is it all about? Do you ever wonder that? We saw last week that life is short and elusive, like the smoke when you blow out a candle. But what are we meant to do with that? How do we answer the big question of what we gain from all our toil? Is the answer really “not much”? Isn’t the world your oyster, can’t we dream big? Can’t we be the ones who really gain in life? Isn’t it worth trying to get ahead? Can we not find some gain in life? You're very welcome to join us this Sunday as we listen to the preacher from Ecclesiastes telling us what he learned as he tried to find meaning in all sorts of places.
There is a youtube recording below but we had trouble with the microphone so the sound quality is better at the above link
“Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened”! Words attributed to author Terry Pratchet, but maybe you can echo them in your heart. Life just seems to go so quickly and sometimes we’re left wondering, what happened, what was it all about? This September our group of churches are going to begin looking at the book of Ecclesiastes. It’s a book that wrestles very honestly with the sense of frustration at the all too fast passing of the years. It’s a book that teaches us about the fragility of life, and asks the hard questions, and teaches us how to enjoy the life God has given us.
Recently, I met a woman in a hospital car park, she was very upset, a family member had had a stroke. The doctors were talking about end of life. What can you say in such a circumstance? The truth is at times, “we all have needs and problems we cannot solve, besetting sins, broken relationships, incurable disabilities, disease, weakness that leave us feeling discouraged & defeated.” What can we say? This Sunday we will hear about a time Jesus met two people in desperate need and what he did for them. We'll be thinking about what he still offers to do for us and how that helps in the desperate times.
Sadly we didn’t have enough internet to livestream, so here’s a recording of the audio from the funeral of Maud Campbell for those who weren’t able to get there:
And here’s the order of service:
Do you ever ask the question "Why doesn't God stop evil?" Maybe its a question that people ask you, a question that stops people believing. This Sunday we will be hearing about a time that Jesus confronted evil and how this helps with the answer to that tricky question. You're very welcome to join us
All sorts of things may cause us to tremble, but what about God's Word? This Sunday we well be joined by Rev Richard Balmer from Crosslinks and he will be speaking from Isaiah 66 about trembling at God's Word.
We are very privileged to be joined by David Turner from Church in Chains at our united service in Ballyhaise this Sunday (30 July) at 11am. Church in Chains is an Irish voice for persecuted Christians and David will be speaking about the working he's involved in and teaching us from God's Word in 1 Kings 18 about "who is the real God"?
Wild fires raging across parts of Europe, health warnings in place in parts of Asia, Europe and North America. Should we be afraid? What about some of the other storms that we face in our own lives? What do you most fear? You're very welcome to join us as we think about these sorts of questions and see how faith in Jesus helps us.
Imagine you just bought a new car! What would be a really foolish thing to do? What about an exercise bike? In our Bible reading for Sunday Jesus tells us 2 foolish thing to do with a lamp to teach us about the importance of listening to His Word and putting it into practice.
This Sunday we're going to be looking at one of Jesus' most famous parables - the parable of the sower and learning how we should listen to Jesus word.
In Simon’s world, there were two kinds of people, the decent morally upright hard-working people like him and his friends, and the “sinners”! Thankfully, Jesus was more gracious! This Sunday we will see how Jesus' forgiveness of us leads us to love Him more.
Why don't you believe? What causes you to doubt what you believe? Maybe its some clever person on TV or the radio challenging what you believe, or a friend who tells you its nonsense? Or maybe its an experience in life that makes you question your fatih. For John the Baptist, it was possibly his experience that had led him to have questions. He had been so certain, but now he's not so sure. You're welcome to join us this Sunday to see what helped John did with his doubts and hopefully it will help us to!
“Children were made for sun and laughter, for sunshine, not for pain. When a child dies, part of the parent is buried.” The lady we meet in this Sunday's reading was about to bury a part of herself. She had lost her only son, and what's more she was a widow. Join us this Sunday to discover the compassion of Jesus towards this woman and to find hope.
What is faith? How can sickness be a blessing? Does Jesus still heal today? Join us this Sunday as we return to Luke's gospel and discover what Dr Luke teaches us about these important questions.
There is an episode of the Simpsons when Homer forgets to pick up Bart from soccer practice. Despite Marge reminding him, and Homer assuring her “I’m on my way” – he totally forgets! Even the dog starts barking “Bart, Bart” but Homer still forgets until he drops off to sleep and has a nightmare and remembers! Sometimes we may feel that Jesus has forgotten about us. Maybe some experience in life has left you feeling broken or abandoned. You're very welcome to join us this Sunday as we consider the truth and comfort from Jesus' words "I am coming soon"
The online video got cut off, but here’s the start, and I’ll post the end in a separate video:
Sorry to those who got cut off in the livestream this morning, here’s the recording of the sermon from Killougher.
There is an episode of the Simpsons when Homer forgets to pick up Bart from soccer practice. Despite Marge reminding him, and Homer assuring her “I’m on my way” – he totally forgets! Why does a job always take longer than you expect?! Why is there almost always something that goes wrong? But its not just work, stress also comes from relationship struggles, from health challenges, sometimes life can feel overwhelming. Sometimes we may wonder if we can carry on. This Sunday we will discover hope and true satisfaction in what God promises in Revelation 21 and we'll be praying for those who have suffered bereavements this week.
You're very welcome to join us this Sunday for a United Service in Drung at 11am. This means all the churches from our group will be meeting together, but you're very welcome whatever your background. We will be joined by Alan Cousins from SAT-7. Here’s a recording from the service.
"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea." Join us this Sunday as we consider why people wanted to partner with the apostle Paul in spreading the gospel and what it might mean for us today.
What's the best deal ever? Join us this Sunday to celebrate the greatest ever offer that flows out of Jesus' death and resurrection. "Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price."
On May 6th in England, King Charles III will officially be crowned at Westminster Abbey. They are currently restoring the 700 year old oak chair for the occasion! He will be anointed with oil—not containing animal products! He will be presented with various items, including the Royal Orb, the Sceptre, and a crown. 8000 guests will attend. The cost will be???! Today, Palm Sunday, we travel back almost 2000 years and hear the celebration of the royal procession of King Jesus into the royal city of Jerusalem. The cost of his procession was significantly less even though he was going to reign forever!
You can watch or listen to the service at the links below.
We’ve also been asked to host the talks for the Cavan Christian Women’s Conference talks from 2022, the speaker was Dr Carol Watson. The first one was recorded live but unfortunately the fire alarm went off and so the second one wasn’t recorded live but Carol kindly recorded it afterwards.
What stops you praying? Tiredness? Busyness? Independence? Or maybe its experience, you've tried and God didn't seem to answer and you don't want to try again. This Sunday we're going to be encouraged to not give up praying because of the character of the God we are praying to.
Cavan Christian Women’s Conference have asked us to host their 2023 talks on our website, so here are the three talks from the book of James.
Mothering Sunday isn't always easy for everyone, but we still want to give thanks for those who have mothered us and recognise the sacrifices they have made. We will also be praying for those for whom it is a hard day. We'll be taking comfort from God's word as we look at Hannah pouring out her heart to the Lord and seeing the comfort the Lord gave her in 1 Samuel. You can watch or listen at the links below.
What have you experienced this week that has made you think—this isn’t the way it should be? Maybe its an ongoing struggle with your or a loved ones physical or mental health and you feel, it shouldn’t be like this. Bodies shouldn’t be so vulnerable, relationships shouldn’t be this fragile, life shouldn’t be this lonely.
At the end of the Bible we see that one day, God will make everything right forever for those who belong to Jesus. You can listen to a recording at the links below:
If you saw a ferocious dog coming running towards you, what would you do? How about if you saw that it was chained up! What a relief! Revelation 20 tells us that Satan is bound for 1000 years so that he cannot deceive the nations. When is this and how can we make the most of the opportunity this gives us?
You can listen to a recording of the service below:
Sara Ahmadi is serving 8 years in prison in Iran for her church involvement. She features in Church in Chains Lent Project this week. Her husband suffers from advanced Parkinson's and is also in prison. How would you cope? This Sunday we will see how John's vision in Revelation 19 must have helped him when he was in prison in Patmos and how it might help Sara (and us) today. You can listen to the service recording below:
How long does it take to get ready for a wedding?! Depends who you ask! If you ask the groom—might say as long as it takes to have a shower, and put on a suit! If you ask the bride—you’re talking months, if not years! There’s a lot of work that goes into getting ready for the big day, even for the groom! The venue, the food, the music, the clothing, the rings, the invites, seating plan, flowers, cake, car, maybe trying to squeeze in some exercise so that the suit still fits! Planning a honeymoon, and somewhere to live!
You can listen to a recording about getting ready for the most amazing wedding ever (Revelation 19:6-10). We also had a baptism, but unfortunately the microphone cuts out for some of it.
On the news we see disturbing images of people searching the rubble for survivors. Sometimes there is rejoicing as someone is found alive. Other times, there’s the sound of wailing as someone is discovered to be dead. It is heart-breaking, and we pray for those who have had their lives shattered, and no doubt we want to give to support them as well.
One of the images that struck me was of the collapse of a high rise building. It just crumbled in seconds. It’s a powerful picture for what we’re looking at in Revelation 18. Here we see the fall of Babylon. A kingdom that looked so secure, so wealthy, so prosperous, years and years of building, and its wiped out in an instant. And just like the high rise buildings that crumbled, Revelation tells us that one day all opposition to God will end suddenly. Jesus calls His people “Come out of her.” It’s a challenge, we need to live in the world, but we are not to be of the world. Christians are to be distinctive from the worldly culture around us and to build our lives on Jesus.
You can watch or listen to a recording at the links below:
The church was in danger of getting deceived by wealth and going the way of the world. In Revelation 17 we get our eyes opened to the reality of what's really going on.
You can listen to a recording of the service below.
What do you make of the wrath of God? This Sunday we are returning to the book of Revelation and picking up where we left off in chapter 15. We face the challenging subject of the wrath of God. You can listen to a recording of the service below:
This Sunday we're blessed to be joined by Rev Dr Mark Earngey. We're even more blessed that he will be teaching us about God's unbreakable love in Romans 8. You can listen to the recording below:
Here’s the 3rd talk from our reader training morning and the discussion questions are below
Here’s the recording from our second session on Philemon with Rev Dr Mark Earngey, and below you can see the discussion questions.
And here were our discussion questions…
It was a great privilege to have Rev Dr Mark Earngey join us for our reader training today, he gave three talks on Philemon, the first of which is below and the next 2 will be in subsequent posts with the relevant slides foe each talk.
We also had great discussion in small groups using COMA to help us think about understand Philemon. COMA studies a Bible passage in four steps: Context, Observation, Meaning, and Application., you ca see the questions that we looked at in small groups below.
How do you find strength for the Christian battle? You can watch the service or listen to it at the links below.
Our readings were from Isaiah 40:1-11 and John 1:19-35.
For those that were unable to get to the recent funeral service of Roy, you can listen to a recording of the service below. We continue to remember the family and friends in our prayers. May the God of all comfort give you His peace that passes understanding.
We all want to belong somewhere. We have a desire to fit in, to be accepted.
Here’s a recording from the first Sunday of Epiphany - a time where we consider the baptism of our Lord. We will see that even though Jesus is the eternal son of God, he choses to identify with people like you and me, and amazingly this means we can find a place where we truly belong and are accepted.
Why do you believe what you say you believe?
We declare our faith in the Creed—I believe—but why? Do you just believe it because you’ve been taught to believe it? Maybe you’ve been told not to question but just to believe?
Maybe you’re not sure if you believe it, but it’s a bit of an insurance policy, just in case...its true.
Sometimes people say “I’m sceptical, and ask a lot of questions. Religious people do not—they just believe.” Is that true? Join us this Christmas to learn from Mary in her questioning journey of faith.
Where is the worst place that you’ve run out of fuel? Jesus tells a story about 10 young women, 5 of them had enough fuel, and 5 didn’t. Jesus said the 5 who had enough were wise, 5 who didn’t were foolish. Jesus is not giving us a lesson about making sure our oil tanks are filled up for the winter! He’s teaching about the kingdom of heaven. He’s using the story about the 10 bridesmaids to teach that there is nothing more important than making sure you are ready for the day Jesus returns.
Advent is a good time to be asking, are you ready? Not so much are you ready for Christmas, but are you ready for Christ's return? This Sunday Warren will be speaking on Matthew 24:36-51 and helping us with this question "are you ready?"
This week has seen further suffering, from the awful earthquake in Indonesia to more strikes in Ukraine one of which took the life of a newborn baby. There were shootings in Virginia Walmart, and then there's the personal stories of suffering that we all live with. Sometimes people say "if God is all loving and all-powerful, he wouldn’t allow suffering. Suffering exists, therefore, cannot be all-powerful, all-loving God." How would you answer that? You're very welcome to join us on Sunday morning as we consider this important question and see the hope the Bible offers in our suffering.
You can listen to a recording of the service or watch the recording below:
The Spanish Inquisition, Christianity being used to justify slavery and apartheid. Religious figures have been able to use their position and influence to prey on some of the most vulnerable. Religious institutions have closed ranks and covered up truly unspeakable acts. If that is what Christianity is all about, who in their right mind would want anything to do with it? And yet, there's something beautiful about Jesus' teaching and example that could be the answer.
You’re welcome to listen to a recording of the service or watch it on YouTube below.
“He’s gone.” For some, those words are a terrible bombshell exploding into their lives devastating all in its path. For others they bring a sense of bitter relief from the effects of a loved one’s illness. For many, the words open the door to agonising regrets.
Everyone’s experience of hearing that news is different, but one thing is the same for all of us: at some point, we’ll have to hear those words. At some point we’ll sit in the front row at a funeral. And at some point those words will be spoken of us. Is there hope in the face of death?
You can watch or listen to a recording of the service below.
At this time when things are getting darker in many ways, we're going to look at the apostle Paul's great words about moving from darkness to light! We’re really pleased that Warren Humphreys is going to be preaching for us.
The church building was beautifully decorated for our harvest service in Drung. Thanks to all who helped with the decorating and the tea. Rev Mark Smith from Ballyjamesduff spoke on Luke 12, the parable of Rich Fool, you can listen to the service at the link below:
"I can't get no satisfaction..." That could have been the sound track to the lady that Jesus met in John 4. You're very welcome to join us this Sunday morning to discover how Jesus gave her purpose and hope.
The video cuts in and out a bit as the internet is not so good in Larah, but the audio track should be ok:
Will I ever be good enough? Why do I keep on making the same mistakes! So often there's a gap between who we want to be and who we actually are. How good do you have to be for God to accept you?
Do you ever find yourself wondering - is there anyone there? Maybe you think that there isn't, but are you sure?! Millions are convinced that there is a God, but how can we actually know? And if there is a God, what difference does it make anyway? You're very welcome to join us as we begin the "What's the Story" Big 6 questions this Sunday looking at the question "Is anyone there?" You can listen to the recording or watch it on YouTube below.
Larah church building was beautifully decorated for our harvest service last night. Thanks to all who decorated and grew vegetables!
Thank-you also to dairy farmer Willie Nixon for coming and preaching for us, you can listen to Willie’s sermon below.
Do you ever find it hard to keep going? Sometimes it just feels too tough? This Sunday we're looking at Revelation 14 and we'll be seeing Jesus' motivation to His followers to keep going. You can watch the service or listen to a recording below.
LIBYA: Christian convert sentenced to death CHINA: Mayflower Church seeks refugee status in Thailand UGANDA: Five evangelists thrown off boat and drowned Those are just the latest entries on the Church In Chains website. Sadly there are many more stories. Why would you keep going as a Christian in those countries? What about in Ireland, how is it hard to be a follower of Jesus here? Is it worth sticking with Jesus? You're very welcome to watch or listen to the service at the links below..
Our Ballyhaise harvest service was a great celebration, we were very thankful for our new central heating system! And also the beautiful decorations, for the organ played beautifully and for Rev Bryan Martin coming to speak to us, and by all who came along.
You can listen to Bryan’s talk below - sorry I missed the beginning of it and was a bit far away so the sound recording isn’t great quality.
If you want to defeat your enemy, you've got to know what they are like. In Revelation 12 we get to see what the enemy of Christians is like and how we can defeat him. You can watch a recording of the service here:

Our first harvest service was at Killoughter church and we were joined by Brian Parker of Faith Mission. You can listen to his talk below and see some of the beautiful decorations in the photos below.
"How long O Lord?" How long must I put up with this? How long will I suffer like this? This Sunday we're looking at Revelation 8-9 where we hear the incredible truth that God hears every prayer of every Christian! How does he answer them? Revelation 8-9 gives us some clues.
Do you love God for who He is or for what you can get out of Him?
You can watch or listen to the recording to the second part of our look at Luke 15 to see Jesus’ teaching on this question.
This Sunday we're going to get a glimpse into Jesus' heart and see what makes Him celebrate. You're very welcome to watch the recording or listen to podcast below.
What is church for? Is it for weddings? It’s great to be able to share the joy of marriage and to pray for God’s blessing.
Is it for baptism? It’s wonderful to see families promising to help their child to follow Jesus.
Is it for funerals? It is so sad to have to say good-bye to loved ones, but it’s good to have somewhere to gather together to remember and honour the memory of our loved ones, to share our grief and find hope in Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life.
Is it for Sunday worship? It’s so important to gather together every week to worship the Lord and hear from His Word, without the weekly family gathering, how quickly would Jesus slip from our thoughts and lives.
Those are all good things, but according to Jesus, there is something else, you can watch or listen to our service recording to find out more.
We weren’t able to record this service last week, but here’s an earlier recording for the phone service:
It's a great privilege to have Daithí joining us this Sunday! He's going to be preaching from Psalm 27 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Last week we were hearing about the severity and certainty of God's judgment and we were left with the question - "Who can stand?" This Sunday we'll see the good news that a great multitude from every tribe and nation are able to stand. We'll see how God pauses the judgment to make sure all His people are safe. Join us to see how we can be safe on that day.
What is going on with the world? You’re surely asking that question at the moment! To go from 2 years of Covid, to the awful invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and now crazy price increases. It makes you ask the question, what is going on with the world? Can’t we go back to how things were?! Does the Bible have anything to say about this? What does it all mean? Join us this Sunday as we look at what this means in Revelation 6:1-17
What if no end to suffering, disability, depression, cancer? What if bullies got away with it? What if there was no end to war? What if Putin never faced justice? What if evil was never punished and no end to the suffering in the world? This Sunday, we're going to see why God says "weep no more" to the apostle John and what that means for us. You can listen to the recording or watch the video below
At this time of year, it seems that everyone round here is going crazy with silage! If you don't farm, you can feel like you're missing out on the buzz. This Sunday we're going to see a harvest that no one needs to miss out on and consider how we can be involved.
Who is in control of this world? Do you ever wonder that? As things seem to spiral out of control, maybe you ask, is anyone in control? If you’re living in Ukraine, you would fear that Putin is in control. If you’re in Afghanistan, you would fear the Taliban are in control. If you were in Texas this week, for a time at least, it looked like 18 year old Salvador Ramos was in control as he brutally murdered 19 school children (aged 7-10) and two teachers in Texas. Absolutely devastating. As people campaign for change in gun laws, it will probably seem that the gun lobby are in charge. Who is in control of this world? Sometimes it seems hard to know. You're very welcome to join us this Sunday to see how Revelation 4:1-11 answers that question.
Maybe you've heard the advert on Northern Sound for Mr James for men - "We've got it all!" What about if we bring that attitude into church? You can watch or listen to podcast at the links below.
If God is totally pure and holy how can we ever be right with him? This Sunday it is a privilege to be joined by New Testament tutor Rev Dr Ro Mody. Ro will be helping us with this very important question - How can I be right with God?
This Sunday we're returning to the book of Revelation. Have you ever done a SWOT analysis of your farm? This Sunday we're going to see Jesus' SWOT analysis of 3 churches in Revelation.
Just think what it would be like to be certain that the God of this universe loves you?
Wouldn't that help with your anxieties and fears?
Join us this Sunday (1st May) to see how Jesus' scars convince us He loves us.
Sorry we had trouble with the livestream - I ran out of credit! You can listen to the service at the link below:
If God were really for me...why would this be happening?
Do you ever ask that? Where is His fatherly care in this loss/sickness/depression/pain? Imagine being a Christian in Ukraine now...
These feelings don’t take God by surprise. He’s given us words to say.
Psalm 22 speaks of intense agony, in some ways give us permission and words to use to tell God how we’re feeling. When we’re in pain and distress, when we feel agony and even doubt, when the pain is too raw to even tell anyone, we can tell God. The podcast helps us reflect on Psalm 22:
This Sunday is Palm Sunday. The Jews desperately needed a rescuer, could Jesus be the rescuer that they need? And what about us today? You're very welcome to join us or watch online or listen to the podcast below:
On the evening of 19 February 2018, armed militants from Boko Haram raided Leah’s school, the Government Girls Science and Technical College, loaded the girls into a waiting truck and drove them away to the Lake Chad region in the far northeast. Leah is still held in captivity. More recently 150 Christians have been abducted and 80 have been killed in Kaduna State Nigeria.
This Sunday we'll see Jesus' word to Christians facing such hostility is "Don't fear...be faithful" and we'll be reassured from Revelation 2:8-11 and 3:7-13 that He see it all and loves His people. You can listen to the recording below or watch on YouTube:

Have you ever fallen out of love? This Sunday our Crosslinks Mission Partner Gerald Mwangi will be helping us look at Jesus' warning to the church that has fallen out of love. You can watch the recording or listen to the podcast for the phone service below:
Last Sunday Maia Mikhaluk posted on Facebook "Our church in Kyiv met today for a Sunday worship service in person. Only those who live within walking distance could come and during the service three times there were warnings about air raids, but nobody hurried to shelter. We felt the safest together, praying to God and praising Him." Can you imagine an air raid siren going off during the church service? This Sunday we're going to see what the suffering church most needs as we look at John's vision of the glorious risen Almighty Jesus. You can watch a recording of the service here or listen to the podcast below.
Volodymyr lives in Western Ukraine, his eldest son has sever health problems requiring 24/7 care. On the day of the invasion he had a seizure. Volodymyr pastors a church and helps to run a ministry for disabled children.

You're very welcome to join us this Sunday to pray for Ukraine and to hear encouragement from God's Word.

Nick will be leading the services and Tom will be preaching.
"I've let God down"
"I've hurt His people"
Do you ever feel like that? Will God still have me? Maybe you've prayed and there has been silence... This Sunday, you're very welcome to see how God reassured Abraham and gave him hope for the future.
You can get the All-Age worksheet here.
Our service times are:
9am Ballyhaise
10am Lavey
11:30am Drung (with livestream and Killoughter joining)
Do you ever feel like no one understands you? Maybe something has happened to you and you just feel that no one else gets it, no one is there to support you. Hagar felt a bit like that. She had been badly treated and ended up pregnant. She felt no one understood, like everyone despised her and so she ran away. She didn’t know where she was going, and she found herself sitting by a well. I guess she was about as low as you can get. And that is when God met her and called her by name. She thought no one understood, but amazingly, even though no one around her understood, God had seen it all, God had heard. He gave her hope. Sarai thought maybe God needed a bit of help to fulfil His promise to Abram, she wondered if she could really trust God to do what he said. Her failure to trust God led to misery for Hagar and for her. Join us this Sunday to discover the blessing of trusting God and His timing and that He sees and understands and helps when we mess up.
You can watch our service or listen to the podcast below.
What is it that frightens you? What keeps you up at night? This Sunday we're looking at God's wonderful promise to Abram: "Fear not...I am your shield." We're going to see Abram's struggles to believe and how God helps, and hopefully be encourage in our faith and hear His word to us in Christ "Fear not...I am your shield."
On the plane we're told to fit our own masks before helping others, maybe sometimes in life we question whether someone deserves our help, and what the risk would be to us if we get involved. This Sunday we're going to see how Abram went to help someone who was unworthy at great risk to himself. But was he helped first?
Do you salute the magpies? Touch wood? Avoid saying "it's quiet"?!
How else do you try and control things?
This Sunday, we're going to see how we can enjoy freedom God gives us when we know He's in control. Here’s the recording for the phone service.
What do you do when your hopes for the future are dashed? I think after the last 2 years, everyone knows what it is to have some hopes dashed as parties, holidays, weddings have been cancelled or postponed. And for some it's been worse.
Abram knew what it was to have his hopes dashed, he'd been promised so much by God, obeyed God and then it all seemed to go wrong. Join us this Sunday as we continue our journey with Abram and see the faithfulness of God even when Abram is unfaithful.
We're in Ballyhaise at 9am, Lavey at 10am and in Drung at 11:30am. Killoughter parish please join with Drung at 11:30am. You can get the all age sheet here.
Have you ever wondered why God would bless His people? We're used to asking why God allows bad things to happen, but what about why should He bless His people?
Here is the recording from YouTube as we return to the book of Genesis and see how God is determined to bless a people who don't deserve it:
Here is the recording for the phone service as we return to the book of Genesis and see how God is determined to bless a people who don't deserve it!

Don’t you just hate it when you miss out?!
Listen to Mark Smith teaching about Jesus’ growing kingdom and how to avoid missing out.
We had a great time at our harvest in Larah last night. Thanks to all who decorated and thanks to Mark Smith for preaching so faithfully and clearly for us. You can see some photos of the beautifully decorated church (and the world’s biggest pumpkin?!) and you can listen to Mark Smith’s sermon on Mark 4:30-32 below.
Mark 4:30-32 : And he said, “With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
World’s biggest pumpkin?!

This week the staff at Café Mana in Cavan town couldn’t believe it when their boss Eilish told them not to come into work because she had organised a day out to Rossnowlagh for them!
When they first heard about it, they must have thought she was codding them! Then they probably hoped it was true, but once they were on the road to Rossnowlagh, they were fairly sure it was true. And when they felt the sand between their toes and smelt the sea and heard the waves breaking, they knew it was true!
There’s a huge difference between hoping something and knowing something. Hopes can be dashed and disappointed. But when you know something, it is certain, it is better than a hope.
What about eternal life, is that something that you hope for, or something that you know that you have?
Please join us this Sunday to find out that God wants us to know that we have eternal life. We're in Ballyhaise at 9am, Larah at 10am, Drung at 11:15am and Killoughter at 12:30pm.

You’re about to cut the silage - which is better—a really strong faith in that old rust bucket that has been sitting out in the field and hasn’t been used for years, or a tiny faith in the Massey you bought last year and was recently serviced?
It’s better to have a small faith in something that works, than a huge faith in something that doesn’t!
Please join us this Sunday to find out why we need to have faith in the Lord Jesus and why He won’t let us down. We're in Ballyhaise at 9am, Lavey at 10am, Drung at 11:15am and Killoughter at 12:30pm.

We live in the days of fake news and fact checkers—this week I saw on Facebook a photo of Heinz “Mayoreo” - apparently it is Oreo flavoured mayonnaise - what would you make of that? Well Facebook had a warning on the photo that it may have been an “altered image.”
Since the Trump era, Fake news has become a term that we’ve become familiar with. But what about in church? Surely we should be able to believe what we hear in church? The Bible’s answer to that may be a little surprising…
Please join us this Sunday to find out more. We're in Ballyhaise at 9am, Larah at 10am, Drung at 11:15am and Killoughter at 12:30pm.

This Sunday we’re going to see that God’s people were in danger of being tricked by some people who had moved on from the truth about Jesus and were trying to trick others into moving on as well. The apostle John calls these people “antichrist.”

This world is beautiful, even more beautiful when the sun is shining! This time of year in particular—fresh leaves on the trees that have been bare, flowers coming out, lambs and calves in the fields, birds singing in the trees. It’s a stunning world. What’s the best club/group you’ve ever been part of?
Maybe you know the joy of close friendship and shared vision, a fellowship with others. Can you imagine having a relationship like that with God? How could that even be possible you might think? We can’t see Him, or touch Him, we can’t even really hear Him. How can we have fellowship with the all-powerful God. Isn’t He too far away? He surely wouldn’t be interested in someone like me?
And lots of people have lots of different ideas about God, how can I know who is telling the truth?
Join us this Sunday to start looking at how the book of 1 John helps to answer some of these questions and helps us to know that we know God!

This week Derek Chauvin was convicted of murder of George Floyd.
At George Floyd square in Minneapolis, people screamed, applauded and wept.
Imagine if there was no justice, that Derek Chauvin has walked free instead.
What if evil was never punished and no end to the suffering in the world? That would be a reason to get upset wouldn’t it?
