Hey everyone! My name is Carly-Ann and I am a health and wellness enthusiast who dropped out of grad school to travel the world and find my real passion and desire to help others. I am on an ever evolving journey that is often messy, unsure, and a bit CRAZY at times! But I am CHOOSING Crazy Over Easy. In this podcast I hope you find yourself inspired and motivated to enjoy the journey you are on but also learn to appreciate when things feel like somewhat of a hot mess!
In this episode I chat about the "waiting room" of our life and how it can keep us from stepping into our "living room." There are seasons of waiting that can encourage us to grow and live fuller lives, but at some point in time we have to get up out of the chair in the waiting room and at least take a step towards the door of our living room. Are you currently in the waiting room of your life?

Sometimes the things that require self control are going to be the harder things to do. Maybe this is saying "no" so that you can move forward in a specific area of life, or maybe this is recognizing what you will have to change in order to reach your health and wellness goals. Self control can feel hard and uncomfortable when it is not something we have been leaning into. Often it can feel easier to "go with the flow" until one day you realize you haven't taken any steps forward in your life and your goals and dreams have continued to get pushed to the side. Where in your life do you need to practice self control and possibly lean into some harder tasks of life?

Little mindset shifts are so important for our overall outlook on life. A recent switch I have been working on is changing my "need" statements to "want" statements. “Want" can help us shift back into a motivated mindset rather than a “need” mindset which can feel like it’s coming from a place of lack. In this podcast I chat all about how this can be impacting us in different areas of our lives.

Whether it is your health and wellness, your fitness, or your business, motivation and drive seem to constantly go through ebbs and flows. In this episode I chat all about motivation and drive in the postpartum season and compare it to a number of different times in our lives where it was more prevalent. I also talk about what we can do when motivation and drive truly seem to be non existent.

What if we sought curiosity rather than judgement? How often do you find yourself judging yourself in a specific moment? This could be in how you reacted in a parenting moment, or maybe it is towards your health and wellness journey. "Judgement" comes with many negative thoughts and emotions. What if in those moments you actually leaned into curiosity about why you are feeling a certain way rather than judging yourself for it? Curiosity allows our mind to expand and move past something versus staying stuck and held down by negative thoughts and emotions.

This can come off as somewhat of a morbid topic but also one that could truly alter how you live your day to day life. What would you change about the way you are living your life if you received news, either good and bad, that was going to alter your current lifestyle? While sitting at the doctor's office today (everything is fine!) I couldn't shake the thought that there are quite a few little things I would change about my day to day life as well as my work life if I was to receive a diagnosis of some sort. While that might sound awful, in this episode I apply many concepts and topics to the question "what would you change" and I think it can really help many of us start living closer to the life we want to live.

For most of my life I have always been someone who needs to have something to look forward to. Maybe this is a big trip with the family, maybe this is waiting for summer, or possibly a big event for someone. But this leaves me "waiting" for a majority of the time. Since having kiddos, I want to be as present as possible and truly find beauty in every day. I might KNOW beauty is all around me, but sadly I do not take the time to fully register a specific moment and see how all the little moments are just as if not more joyful than the big trips and events. In this episode I chat all about "romanticizing the little things" and the impact that can have on our lives.

In this episode I chat about how many of us are "chasing" a feeling rather than embracing and embodying our new experiences. Maybe it is chasing the old feelings of summer when we were younger, maybe it is chasing the feeling of when you had time to workout and look/feel your best, maybe it is chasing the feeling of your marriage before kiddos, etc. So many of us are chasing feelings without even recognizing it rather than embracing our current season and loving it for what it is not what it used to be.

What areas of your life need a bit of a mindset shift? Where could you say the statement "because we GET to" or "because I GET to" and truly shift your mindset around a topic? Think about aging, working out, waking up early, loving on your kiddos, etc. There are so many areas of life that many of us need a simple mindset shift to truly start living our best lives as well as our best selves.

For a long time I fell in love with things or the idea of things based on their story and how it unfolded. If things didn’t unfold in this “picturesque” way I devalued it. I did this with my own love story, my fitness journey, motherhood, etc. I would find where things "sparkled" and assumed since they were "share worthy" they held more value. Lately I have been leaning into the moments that I maybe don't share as much and noticing they hold just as much value if not more than the moments that "sparkle" according to others.

Have you ever prayed about something, wished for something, hoped for something, and waited for it to "come true?" I swear I used to wish on every shooting star and every first star I saw at night. But not very often did I continue to take steps toward the things I was wishing and hoping and praying for. Yes of course, we are suppose to "let go and let God," but that doesn't mean we stop taking steps towards the things we want in life. In this episode I talk about personal aspects of my story where I was forcing steps versus when I allowed God to show me different steps to take. Both paths were hard, but one was full of force and fear while the other was full of hope and excitement.

The season of "spring cleaning" is in full force and in this episode I chat all about "making space" for things to be able to come into our life, but also on the flip side, space might be being made for you without it being your decision. Maybe it's a break up or losing a job, these things can feel so heavy and negative, but maybe they are happening in order to make space for something incredible to come into our life! So do you need to make space or is space being made for you in order for that next amazing thing to happen?

Just because something is different than you expected doesn't mean it is bad! Motherhood has been different than expected, but that doesn't mean it has been bad! My health and wellness journey has been different, but that doesn't mean it is bad! Social media gives us a lense to see so many ways to live or do something a certain way, but you can still choose to do it your own way! You can forge your own path and pave your own way! Don't let the difference of what you expected and what actually is unfolding keep you from showing up and creating an amazing life.

This episode is going to be profound for so many women! Many of us will go through a number of transitions and pivots throughout our life. With each of these new seasons, we can find ourselves often feeling "lost or uncertain" while also sometimes "motivated and inspired." I think when these pivots happen, we try to hold onto the person we once were and we overlook that we are meeting a new version of ourselves. For me, this has been such a comforting realization within my motherhood journey! While I don't feel "lost," I also don't feel like motherhood gave me my sole "purpose." I absolutely love being a mom and have found new parts and layers to myself that I didn't know existed and I am better for it. But for the last three and half years I have felt like I am straddling a line between who I was and who I am becoming and I finally realized, I am simply meeting a new version of myself. I need to give myself time and grace while I get to know her.

Late night sports center with Casey turned into one of the best messages I have heard in a long time, "It will never get easier, but you will handle hard better." What a profound statement! This was said by Kara Lawson, the women's basketball coach from Duke and it went viral a couple of years ago. In this episode we chat all about this simple mindset shift and areas of your life where it could truly impact you beyond words!

Do you actually know what you want? Do you truly know what you are working towards every single day? I think if we are not clear on this it can lead to frustration. We go about our day feeling as though nothing is getting accomplished yet we actually haven’t given ourselves a clear direction. And I mean CLEAR. This doesn’t mean we won’t shift along the way, but we at least have to have a target we are aiming for. So, when was the last time you asked yourself, "What do I want?" Listen to this episode and let's break it down together.

We have all heard "comparison is the thief of joy" but have you ever considered the concept of "procrastination is the thief of Joy?" This recently hit me while I found myself frustrated yet again during my morning routine with the kiddos. We were rushing out of the house and I felt my patience slipping when all of a sudden I realized that the only reason I was starting to get worked up was because of my own doing. I had procrastinated one thing after the next and before I knew it I was trying to send off an email while making my toddlers lunch, holding my one year old, and attempting to respond to someone on Instagram that I had planned on doing the day before. Some might see this as multitasking, but multitasking should be done with some level of efficiency rather than a slow build up of anger, frustration, and minimal patience for my kiddos. In this episode I chat about many ways procrastination might be impacting you without even knowing.

Vision boards can be so incredible! They can help us paint our dreams and get excited about things we are working towards. I think they can also create very narrow focuses that often hold us back from seeing our visions come to fruition. In this episode we talk about using our vision boards to take necessary steps towards our goals but to also adapt for them where necessary in order to recognize the beauty in the current step and not miss that our vision board is actually unfolding in its own unique way.

If you are feeling stuck or if you are feeling like you don't know who "you" are anymore, try to silence the noise around you. Turn off your phone, don't call a friend before making a decision, don't scroll to see what other people are doing with their life, try to truly sit in silence and remember who YOU are at your core. In this episode we dive deep into this as well as how I am impacted as a people pleaser and how it has held me back. We are not all meant to be the same, we are not all meant to leave the same impact, but we are meant to shine our light in our unique way! So silence the noise and shine that light so bright and illuminate your corner of the world!

In this episode we chat all about the Ins and Outs of 2024. Rather than taking a full dive into everything I want "out" of my life, I am focusing a bit more on the "ins" and how I can truly squeeze everything out of life! I talk about everything from gratitude, to boundaries, to surviving this community, as well as throwing out the "hustle culture" this year. I think you will find a lot of value in this episode and will be able to lean into your own intentions even more for this year ahead!

I know many won't agree with this but apparently if we are wanting to be "successful," we are supposed to take part in "separation season." While I don't find any need to wait to start working on ourselves or lean into the next goal, I find it very important to recognize moments of stillness and seasons of needed growth. I also think closing our computers and putting away our phones is so important in order to live the life we are working so hard at every day. I believe this is a must listen to episode!

When someone asks you how you are doing or how your day was, how do you usually respond? Do you immediately go into all the "bad" or hard things that happened to you that day? Or do you quickly search for something great that happened so you can make your day sound better than it maybe is feeling to you? In this episode, we dive deep into these questions and talk about how we don't have to find the things that maybe went wrong and we also don't have to analyse if anything wildly amazing happened in order for it to have been a good/great day. What do you think would happen if you started to shine light on the smaller moments of your life? How would your response change to these questions?

A little tough love today! If you were completely honest with yourself, are there areas in your life where you are talking the talk but maybe not walking the walk? You say you are going to show up for your health and fitness, but you haven't even figured out how to get in more water let alone take a step into a gym or go out for a walk. Or maybe you have written down all your goals for that business you want to start but you haven't made the email account or the instagram account to begin taking a step in the direction of making it happen. We have all been there! Now it is time to match our words to our actions.

Going after the things we want in life is exciting! It can create motivation to work harder and determination to see our dreams unfold! But have you ever found yourself frustrated or discouraged when some of your "wants" have not become a part of your reality or the picture you are trying to create?
I recently reflected back on the things I "wanted" as a teenager and young adult. Most of these things revolved around relationships and/or connections I wanted in life such as a guy I had a crush on that I wanted to become my boyfriend, or the sorority I wanted to be a part of. When I thought about "having" these things, it was about gaining a relationship or a connection to something. Then I started reflecting on some of my bigger "wants" as of lately and a lot of it is materialistic things. While I don't think materialistic things are bad at all, I found that it was leaving an empty feeling within me. If we are striving to gain something that is materialistic, let's focus on the goals/steps that will get us there. In this episode I unpack all of this and more!

There are many seasons of life where our intentions behind our actions are pure and exciting and fully intended to move us forward, but oftentimes life has other plans and this strong sense of "losing control" can take over. Whether it is the season of motherhood where our kiddos take priority over everything, or the season of growing a business and it consumes all areas of your life, or maybe within a relationship or marriage where you are intending things to go a certain way but again, that sense of "control" is not there. I believe many of us feel that sense of "losing control" in some area of our lives in one way or another and let it consume us. But maybe if we take a moment to recognize how it is impacting us, we can work on that "bounce back" mindset and regain control again.

"It's not about perfection, it's about how quickly you can bounce back." When I heard these words I didn't know how to process them at first because "perfection" and "bounce back" have always been words/phrases that carry a lot of weight with them. But in this episode we breakdown this statement and turn it into an extreme positive!

People who are unsure of the direction and purpose of their life often are intimidated by those who have. We often criticize or judge others for something we don't like about ourselves. But what if we each leaned into our own greatness and put more effort into that? What if we saw criticism simply as something someone else uses as a defense mechanism for themselves rather than an attack on us?

We often approach things in life based on what other people have done in the same situation or how we approached the same situation but in a different season of life. Whether it is parenting, our fitness goals, starting a business, we all have different paths when striving for similar outcomes.

In moments when we are formulating our own opinions, do you ever seek the validation or support of others? Do you have goals and dreams that excite you, yet you still reach out to others to validate your next step? I believe that many of us unknowingly seek the approval and validation of others when we really should be trusting our own excitement and instincts and then allow those that love us to simply support us on our journey. Validation feels great, but it shouldn't be needed.

Mindset shift has been everything lately. How many things in your life have you categorized as "failure?" Maybe a relationship, maybe a diet, maybe a business venture. What if you simply looked at it as "temporary defeat?" What if you allowed yourself to make a few small changes or pivots in a new direction and look at the "failure" as "temporary defeat" and an opportunity for redirection?

Often we focus on the "best version" of ourselves. We hyperfocus on it and sometimes find ourselves stuck not knowing how to take that next step forward to show up as her/him. What if we asked ourselves "what would the healthiest version of me choose?" How would your mindset shift? How would your perspective in a given moment shift? This question gives us the ability to take a step in the next moment and unknowingly show up better for the "best version" of ourselves. Try asking yourself right now, "what would the healthiest version of me choose?" and see how your next action possibly adjusts.
The products I mentioned in the episode are Liposomal Vitamin D3, Liposomal Vitamin C, Opti Greens, and Glutamine

This could be your health and fitness, your personal development, your relationship, your business aspirations, all of the above. What if you dove into all of it for 365 days without a plan B? Where do you think you would be? What a powerful concept to think about and you can start doing it today!

Are you living your life from a place of influence or impact? This can be from what and how you consume things, to the way our kids view us. I can admit that I have struggled with coming from a place of influence when my intent and hope would be to leave an impact. I think these two concepts can truly change how we connect with one another.

When you take a moment to audit your life, are there areas that you want to be receiving more but then you recognize you yourself are not pouring much into that area? For me, it is my marriage and the desire to have an extraordinary relationship! In this episode, I chat about a recent argument Casey and I had and how it made me realize I am not giving what I want to be receiving. Without getting into too much of the dirty laundry, I break it all down for you. But what areas of your life are you hoping to receive more in? Maybe your relationships, your love life, your work, etc. The Law of Karma is often looked at in a negative way, but it truly can be a beautiful outlook!

Are you ACTUALLY making an effort in areas of your life that you are hoping and/or trying to improve on? When was the last time you reflected on goals or intentions you set for yourself? In this episode I expand on 5 questions each of us can ask ourselves simply to check in with where we are at. I know for me, I pour so much into others and forget to self reflect which leads to exhaustion as well as feelings of being lonely or lost.

Envy and jealousy are emotions many of us experience on a daily basis, but one can come from a place of beauty and one can come from a place of negativity and ugliness. "Envy can be beautiful, jealousy can be ugly." This was said to me a while ago and it has stuck! We have 60,000-80,000 thoughts a day and most of them are not monitored, they are just filtered through our mind unknowingly. In this episode I chat about being aware of moments of envy vs jealousy and how this can impact our life.

If you are anything like me, you thrive on routine. You love having things go a certain way and you often set up your day with an intention, or hope rather, that it will unfold accordingly. But is it our "routine" that is maybe holding us back? Do you find yourself frustrated or giving up if your routine is not unfolding as expected? I know for me, becoming a mom made sticking to a routine SO challenging! Especially when it came to my health and fitness goals, I felt like I was constantly setting myself up for failure. In this episode I chat about how maybe putting too much focus on the "routine" we are trying to set up for ourselves is actually what is holding us back.

Have you ever started a new journey or attempted to start chipping away at a goal and every time you start to feel good within your pursuit, something derails you? Possibly it's within your health and wellness journey, maybe it's in your morning routine, or maybe it's learning to show up for yourself outside of your daily tasks with the kiddos. In this episode I chat all about being on a journey and allowing ourselves to get uncomfortable because the intended path might have some unexpected curves to it.

How often do you seek validation in numbers? Whether it is the number on the scale, the number of likes on a post, the numbers you report to your boss at the end of the quarter, so often we turn to numbers to validate our worth. What if we worked on giving and receiving more love and leaning into how we viewed ourselves and the work we put into our daily actions? In this episode I chat all about areas of our lives that we might be seeking validation in numbers and how we can possibly spin this to come from a place of love.

How many of us find ourselves getting derailed from the journey or mindset we are striving to obtain for ourselves? Maybe it's an email or a phone call or a toddler tantrum that sets the motion for us to fall of course from being our best self. In this episode I chat all about the "interruptions" of life and how they will always be there, but we need to allow ourselves to recognize them, acknowledge they are a part of our day, but learn to circle back to the journey we are on for ourselves!

I think it is really important to master our mindset. This is a journey I have recently been diving into and it has been one of the hardest concepts to grasp and understand. Each of us functions differently and each of our lives is so different which can make it hard to figure out how to apply helpful information that might work for someone else but seems beyond difficult to implement in your own life. In this episode I chat about 3 mindset shifts each of us can begin applying to our lives today, but with the understanding that it might look different for each of us!

In this episode I chat all about the "copy and paste" concept that unknowingly impacts/consumes many of us. Within our daily lives, we encounter so many versions of the “copy and paste” concept from diet culture, to setting up our businesses, to how we should parent our children. I believe a lot of us lean into trends, nothing wrong with it, but I think it’s overriding who we are “suppose” to be or maybe even who we “want” to be.

In this episode my assistant, Angela, asks me a number of questions that were sent in from the community. We talk about all things from motherhood, to in person events, to aspects about life that I have not opened up about too much yet. It is a really fun, easy going conversation and one of my favorites that I have recorded lately! We then end with a series of rapid fire questions that maybe help you get to know me a little better.

You do not have to be a parent, but I do talk about how I have made adjustments since having kiddos. I get asked all the time how I work/get things done and despite me still figuring it out, I have a learned that these concepts truly do help me feel accomplished!

Up until this point we have talked a lot about "appreciating the struggle" and "appreciating the hot mess," but when was that last time you truly leaned into appreciating where you are at and/or what you have? The concept "appreciation of what you have, brings what you want" came up in a daily message book that I have and in this episode I unpack it and apply it to many areas of our lives.

Often we lean into the opinions of others when trying to make changes in our life and/or our mindset. We don't take action until we feel 100% ready to start something new or make a change. Sometimes we just need to believe in the direction we are going and start acting upon that belief in order for things to unfold. Act it until you are it! Whether you believe you can or you can't, you are right!

In this episode I chat all about living a life of abundance vs scarcity. I talk about how we often view others as living an abundant life yet we might see ourselves or our lives as a little "less than." I think it is important to note that we might want to "copy and paste" someone else's routines or habits into our own lives but I think we should view them as "expanders" and allow them to impact us in a positive way. Allow ourselves to see areas in our lives that we want to improve on and learn from these individuals but in the process, still see our own life as abundant with opportunities to grow and expand upon it.

For the longest time, my fitness journey came from a place of "lack." I felt as though I was not enough so out of fear of not being enough for others or not holding enough value, I would push myself harder thinking the smaller I was or the more "in shape" I was would lead to a feeling of abundance. Everything stemmed from a place of fear. Now, I am on a journey of understanding "health" takes into account my mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and can come from a place of love. I have not figured it out by any means, but in this episode I open up about where this journey started and where it is at the moment.
You can listen to the episode I recorded in 2019 about the specific details of my fitness journey and how it all starter here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/crazy-over-easy/id1484511466?i=1000458571365

Many of us feel as though we are waiting for something to happen. I often say, "waiting is the hardest part." We all know that whether or not it feels like our journey is at a standstill sometimes, it still moves forward while we wait for specific moments to take place. What if we looked at that as a positive in knowing that we still get to experience those moments? Maybe it's an engagement, a job promotion, the positive pregnancy test, etc. They can feel like such precious, beautiful moments in our lives that we are just waiting to unfold, but there is something so special and exciting in knowing that those moments are still ahead of us.

When was the last time you looked beyond your screen? When was the last time you recognized all those little moments that have been happening every day and adding up over time? It is easy to evaluate our lives based on what others see of it, but what about each and every moment behind the scenes? So many of us are living our daydreams day in and day out but forget to pay attention as it is unfolding each day.

In this episode, Casey and I chat about where we are currently in our postpartum journey after having our second son 10 weeks ago. We talk about the differences within our marriage from having one kiddo to now having two. Rather than doing a traditional Q&A, we focus on where we are currently in our marriage, we open up about intimacy and chat about how having two kiddos has impacted us individually as well as within the marriage.

This episode is a bit of tough love I think a lot of us need to hear. Whether you make a tangible vision board, write it out, or simply tell yourself you have bigger and better goals and dreams for yourself, we all need to decide what these things look like and know that we are capable of achieving them! It is so easy to get caught up in our routines and feel like we are finally getting by and not recognize that we are capable and deserving of more but we need to make it clear to ourselves what exactly our goals and dreams look like.

In this episode I chat about some of the hard honest truths many of us are not having with ourselves. Do you ever find yourself commenting on an area of someone else's life because you are unhappy in that area of your life? Lately I find myself struggling with finding my way back into movement and fitness as well as feeling a little unorganized in my business ventures and I have noticed that it has led me to comment on those areas of other people's lives. Many of us struggle to acknowledge that we are unhappy or not being honest with ourselves and it leads us to comment or judge others.

I think more often than not, many of us let our past impact our future. We struggle to let go of situations and/or circumstances we have been through and in turn, they hold us back from achieving new hopes and dreams we imagine for ourselves. In this episode, I chat about everything from past relationships, diets, business ventures, etc and how each of them are potentially keeping us from moving closer to our future. Personally, my past unknowingly is causing limiting beliefs on my dreams for my future. What about you?

What dream or goal is currently on your heart? Is your daily environment or the people in your life encouraging you or tearing you down? Sometimes when people don't understand our goals, their encouragement can come off as criticism or a strong lack of support. Have you ever asked yourself what exactly you are chasing? When you think about where you are at in life and where you hope to go, are you chasing something specific? I believe having goals is HUGE! It helps keep us going, it pushes us, and it betters us in so many ways. But what exactly are we chasing and will we eventually enjoy it once we get there? Success and goals look different to everyone, but sometimes when we continue to strive for more, we miss out on where we are currently at.

Our next sweet bundle is here! And it's a BOY! This little one came into this world making a statement! He made his debut only 37 minutes after arriving at the hospital which means I did not get the epidural I asked for haha Listen to this episode to hear the entire story as well as the meaning behind his name and possibly a few tears thanks to the postpartum hormones raging at the moment!

I often talk about how "waiting is the hardest part." So many of us are in seasons of waiting and we struggle to continue living our lives while we are waiting for the next season or transition to take place. But what about those seasons of life where things seem to be running smoothly or a day seems to be unfolding according to the plan, and then something interrupts us? How do we react to these interruptions? Which emotion gets the best of us? I know for me, interruptions happen all day every day in my current season of life and I can definitely work on being a better version of myself during these moments.

Do you focus on your long term goals, or are you someone that wants to get to your goals as fast as possible? Do you need to reach that goal to obtain a title or recognition, or is it to better yourself and add value to your life and others? I am guilty of being a little of both which I think is entirely okay! But occasionally, our desire to get to a specific destination as quickly as possible causes us to miss out on so much. In this episode, I chat all about allowing ourselves to slow down a little and play a bit of a longer game rather than seeking the quickest way to success or a title.

In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Crystal O'Keefe on her journey to finding fitness and a passion for Peloton at a later point in life. Crystal ran her first mile ever at the age of 41, she did not know how to swim, and she had picked up a number of bad habits over her journey. Through divorce, stepping out of her comfort zone, starting when she was not ready, and taking a chance on herself, Crystal has completely transformed her narrative and the path she was on. She is now a certified personal trainer as well as a nutrition coach who is living her best fitness life as a competitive athlete while inspiring others to make the same changes within their personal journeys and she owes it all to the community and cultural phenomenon of Peloton.
You can find Crystal on these social media platforms for more information or more amazing discussions with her: Facebook @TheClipOut, Instagram @ClipOutCrystal as well as her own Podcast, The Clip Out.

In this episode I chat about everything from current life, the feeling of being alone, and third trimester update/struggles. It is a very raw and real episode that I think many of us can relate to. Social media can be deceiving when it comes to the life someone lives or the way it is perceived, and I think it is important to know that we are often all going through very similar feelings.

If you are anything like me, the end of summer can sometimes feel depressing and often sad knowing that it's a whole 9 months until the next summer comes around. You also might feel a lot like me, where this seasonal shift also brings a shift in life and a very transitional time. Wherever you are at in life, try to lean into these transitions. Recognize the emotions you might be feeling, but then find the areas within these seasons where you hold excitement and passion! Let's use this shift from summer to fall to make changes and create growth within our lives!

In today's episode I chat about the need many of us have to hear from someone that it is "okay" to turn off. We wait for validation of our needs and/or emotions when we feel like we need a break. It is okay if we need to slow down. It is okay if we want to turn off and be present. However, so many of us feel as though we need approval to take the time that we need away from the fast past life many of us are feeling.

Are you potentially throwing your darts all over the place hoping they hit the target? The other day, I read this statement, "Finish this project, make the call, do the chores. Remember my quiet time, get to church, don't forget to pray. Even the things that seem like right targets can be wrong if we're only trying to get them off a checklist." THIS is exactly where I am at right now. Our actions need to carry attention as well as intention, rather than just throwing the dart and hoping it sticks.

When was that last time you invested in yourself? When was the last time you have truly taken the time to work on yourself, better yourself, learn and grow in your passions and areas of life that bring you joy or pertain to your profession? I have finally recognized that my feelings of struggle and uncertainty the last 6 months have stemmed from my lack of self growth. For the last 6 months, I have done absolutely nothing to grow as an individual and expand who I am as a person. I have checked things off the to-do list, I have continued to show up for my business, but nothing has moved forward, nothing as prospered. I have been stagnant.

In this episode I chat with my assistant all about turning 40. So often we talk about "this is 30" and the life we potentially envisioned/envision for ourselves by the time we turn 30. Angela is a mama of 5 who knows what it's like to make big transitions during each decade of life! From being a teen mom, to being a single mom of 3, buying her own home, and now through her 30s, marrying her amazing husband and having her two youngest sons. She talks up about being open to change as well as the hard work it will take to get from one season to the next and to allow yourself to transition despite age or the plan you had mapped out for yourself.

When was the last time you just let yourself fully BE YOU? No expectations from others, no holding back, you just let your light shine. For me, this is something I have recently recognized I am struggling with in my day to day life. I am not allowing myself to embrace everything I have to offer and harnessing the confidence I want to feel which in turn is holding me back from feeling genuinely happy throughout my day. So I ask you, when was the last time you allowed yourself to fully step out and step into who you are meant to be?

In this episode, Casey and I take the time to answer questions that were sent in on Instagram. We chat about navigating the awkward seasons of a relationship, working through communication issues but also recognizing that we are not taking action, as well as noticing those seasons of a relationship where sometimes you just feel like roommates. We are NOT experts on relationships, nor do we have it figured out, but we are choosing to share our insights as we go along all the new seasons of life and figure it out as we go.

In this episode I chat about being in a season of life where personal and professional development is needed but the fear of taking the step holds us back. I am currently in a season where both my professional life and my relationship life are on the cusp of changes and growth, but taking that step to allow it to happen brings a lot of fear and uncertainty. But if we push others' judgement and control aside, we might be able to "step out and find out," leading to the path we were meant to be on. Fear will always be present and other people will always have their opinion, but if we never take that step to find out something that might fulfill us or lead us on a specific path, it will always remain in the back of our mind and the control of others will continue to run our life.

Have you ever noticed how your routine or mindset differs on the weekend versus a weekday? Or when you are on vacation you just seem to feel lighter despite maybe still needing to work and check emails. I know for me, I find myself in such a different mindset and routine on a weekend versus a weekday, despite my days not being entirely different from one another. It's almost as if I allow myself to relax on a weekend morning whereas during the week, I assume expectations are placed on me. In this episode I chat all about recognizing what brings me joy to help get my mindset into a productive one, rather than a mindset that is focused on a to-do list that will always be there.

In this episode I chat about how easy it is now to compare our relationships to those on social media as well as have unrealistic expectations and assumptions of what relationships should look like and/or consist of. This can be from intimacy to simple conversations within a relationship. So many of us think we need more or find ourselves feeling uncertain in our relationships based off of what we see in other relationships.

In this episode I chat all about how to get out of a funk, the positive impact of grounding ourselves, and how comparing ourselves to others can take away from being our best self. It is so easy to fall victim of our daily routines and forget to be intentional in how we go about our day. For me, this often consumes my mindset and self thoughts and in turn, hinders who I am as a person and what I am capable of.

Do you ever get excited or enthusiastic about something you are doing in life and then have someone in your life not match your excitement or energy? This could be a co-worker, a mentor, a spouse, a best friend, etc. All of a sudden we kind of question our own excitement and energy rather than leaning into our own beliefs within ourselves. In today's episode, I talk about creating our energy and then maintaining it despite the possible need for other's support or validation.

In this episode I chat about "losing" a dream we maybe had for ourselves but then actually recognizing that our goals and dreams have shifted. So often we stick to the "plan" we have intended for ourselves or we think others expect of us and we assume it means failure if we do not succeed. But in reality, maybe our goals and dreams are simply shifting and we have to have acknowledged that to allow ourselves to move forward in the right direction.

In this episode, I chat all about body image and how it can impact our everyday thoughts. I also open up and admit that prior to getting pregnant with Cayden, I can say out loud that I never loved my body. I think this is an episode that many of us can relate to as well as reflect where we are at on our personal journeys.

We are pregnant again! In this episode I chat about everything the 1st trimester brought me and everything in between. The 1st trimester can feel lonely and overwhelming and leave you with so many questions so I try to divulge every detail I wrote down along the way. We are so excited for this next little bundle and appreciate each and every one of you on this journey with us! We continue to pray for everyone on their own journeys and understand that announcements can be triggering for many.

How many of us envision our dreams and goals to a "T" and when they start to unfold, we almost miss them happening before us? I am a dreamer. I love to glamorize my dreams in my head and work hard in order to hopefully see them through. But so often, I am already living one of my dreams and I am missing every moment of it. Too often we glamorize our dreams to the point of perfection and then we forget to insert "life" into it. So when it starts to unfold, sometimes all we see is the chaos and the hard moments, when in reality, our dream has come true, but it exists with the added beautiful chaos of life. How many of us are missing out on our dreams unfolding because we are too focused on the chaos and noise that might be surrounding it?

In this episode I chat all about finding our "perfect" fit in life. Many of us fear taking a step because it could lead to failure, but in reality, it's just us evolving through our life and learning from our mistakes. It can be hard to maintain confidence throughout our mistakes but it's important to press on and allow ourselves to evolve. We cannot drive a parked car! Let's work on getting our life out of "park" and moving in a direction we are working towards.

In this episode I chat about the mindset and act of simply "be positive." I always say appreciate the struggles, and expect the unexpected and it truly has helped me! But I don’t always do this with a positive mindset, if anything I kind of do it with a chaotic mindset. Like I already know the day or events are going to unfold in a hectic way so I may as well embrace it. This isn’t bad! And it truly does help me, but I also feel like I could push a bit more and genuinely make this mindset feel POSITIVE. So through our "organized chaos," let's find our ability to approach our day and/or routine in a positive way.

In this episode, I chat about the concept of discipline vs motivation and how it is a concept that has taken me so much longer to figure out than I would have expected or liked. Often I find myself excited to start new journeys and to work hard, but I also find myself struggling to maintain that excitement and motivation to keep working hard throughout the entire journey. It has not been until this new season of my life between parenting, starting new companies, wanting to maintain my health and fitness journey, and slowly chipping away at the life goals, that I am recognizing there is actually very little time that we find ourselves fully encompassed with motivation. Rather, we learn to keep showing up out of discipline.

In this episode I finally chat about the question I have been getting asked, "are you okay?" This was not a topic I wanted to talk about, however, this is a community I share everything with so taking the time to talk to all of you about some things is important to me. Remember, if you maxed out all Instagram stories in a day, you would only see 25 minutes of 24 hours.

In this episode I answer a few questions that some of you sent in after last week's episode. I think it is important to talk about these topics so we do not feel alone in them. It is normal to struggle through seasons of life, but thinking we are the only ones dealing with some of it can feel heavy. I take some time to chat about everything from life before social media all the way to intimacy in a relationship.

I figured it was about time to take you through my life story. I have glazed over it a few times but in today's episode, I unfold the last 32 years. From dating, to jobs, to marriage, I chat about it all. Like any other story, there are so many more details that could be divulged, but like many of you, with each season of life, we see our story a little differently.

In today's episode, I chat about those moments in life that often feel like they are derailing us from our goals and dreams. They are the moments that make us second guess ourselves and take them as a sign that we are not supposed to keep going forward towards what we are working on. Rather than overanalyzing them, what if we took them as stepping stones along our journey to learn and grow from? Yes, sometimes these moments can be so defeating and genuinely feel like it's the end of the road for that current goal, but learning from them and recognizing them as part of our story can help make the story more powerful and meaningful once our goal/dream is achieved!

2021 was a year of growth and learning. From writing a book, starting a new company, trying to conceive, and dreaming of buying our home, quite literally nothing came to fruition. Nothing was able to get checked off as completed. But does that make it a "bad" year? No. In opposition, it was a year where I learned to embrace the unexpected and fully understand what learning and growing looks like in my current season. Does that put a lot of pressure and expectations on 2022? Maybe. But I know that with each day I am taking steps towards dreams I know I am capable of achieving.

In this episode, I chat about our current journey of trying to conceive as well as our previous journeys with bundle #1 and Cayden. I talk about everything we did and are doing to get pregnant as well as the emotions and fears behind it all. I want to put a disclaimer that I am not a doctor, I am simply sharing what our doctors have told us to do as well as what I did and am doing during this season of our life. And to anyone struggling to conceive or holding fear around a pregnancy loss, you are not alone and you are entitled to all your emotions.

Have you ever gone through seasons of life waiting for that feeling of peace and/or balance to overtake you? It is as though we assume this feeling is an end result and then things will be figured out. However, I think that we are always "figuring it out." I believe each season brings new feelings of peace and balance evolves within the new seasons we are currently going through. Being present can be so difficult, but if we are constantly searching for this feeling of "peace" we miss out on so much. Learning from the moments and seasons of struggle and recognizing that most of us are "just figuring it out" can bring its own type of growth and peace.

In this episode I chat about how I am currently focusing on some new mindset work. When was the last time you reflected on your "I am" statements? Are you ready to challenge yourself a bit and step out of your comfort zone? I struggle with doing things that make me uncomfortable or that I am not good at and mindset work is something I do not feel fully comfortable with yet. I have always heard about the power of affirmations and making "I AM" statements, and lately my "I am" statements are not powerful or uplifting. If anything they bring me down. I find myself saying "I am stressed, I am tired, I am overwhelmed," and I want to work on being intentional about how I go about using words to describe myself.

In this episode I had the pleasure of chatting with one of my amazing friends, Sam Gwaz. We talked all about food and fitness and how the two often control our lives or have during certain seasons of life. She and I talk about taking steps to release anxiety focused around food as well as navigating this time of the year with holidays as well as New Years around the corner. Sam and I have also recorded two previous episodes over the years, if you are interested in listening to those you can find the links below.

In this episode, I chat about where I am at in my postpartum journey as well as where my marriage is at. I also take the time to discuss how our miscarriage from two years ago is still impacting me. I think it is important for many of us to reflect on seasons of life and see how they might be impacting us in our everyday life as well as where we are intending to go.

I cannot believe how much I am learning from my little one. Whether it is a random Disney movie in the background, how he reacts to a situation, or a flip up book I am reading him, diving into the small simple things in his little world have helped open my eyes to so many things lately. In this episode I chat about how many of us are focusing so heavily on the problems and fears in our lives, that we genuinely cannot see beyond it. Everything is clouded and our current situation seems consumed by the one problem or fear we are hyper focusing on. If we allow ourselves to see beyond these distractions and/or struggles, we might actually see the purpose or meaning behind it.

In this episode I chat about how I personally overcame tracking macros. While I believe tracking macros is an incredible tool for many of us and I use it with many of my one on one clients, there often comes a time and place where we know we are ready to be done. Tracking macros started to cause me anxiety and impact my overall mental and emotional wellbeing. I was missing out on life events and felt as though I no longer knew what a hunger cue was. I had reached a point where I knew it was time for me to work on overcoming my need to track everything.

In today's episode, I talk about how many of us can be consumed by accomplishing our goals. Myself included, I thrive on setting goals and seeing them through. But how often do we sit and reflect on the accomplishment of that goal before moving on to the next one? While I think it is important to keep taking steps forward, I think we miss a huge part of feeling fulfilled by accomplishing a goal because we are so focused on checking it off to get closer to what we might define as success.

In this episode, I sit down and have a real honest conversation with all of you. Most of you know, I love to find the positive in everything and love to look at the bright side, but I also think it's important and valuable to honor whatever emotions you are feeling in your current season of life and sometimes that means admitting when things are hard! We do not need to fear the hard times, but recognizing that we all go through them can be really helpful.

The statement "it will all work out" is probably one of the most frustrating statements I hear from my husband. I swear it is the answer to everything he says! But lately as I reflect on things in hindsight, the statement holds a lot of truth. Many of us are planners so when things do not go according to our plan, it causes a lot of anxiety and feelings of unease. But if we allowed ourselves to process and lean into "it will all work out" a little more often, I am sure it would lessen our feelings of uncertainty and being overwhelmed.

When you work on something, do you focus on the project at hand or the overall goal you are trying to achieve? I believe that all too often we focus on one specific task that we forget about our all goal. Yes, it is very important to not overwhelm ourselves with an entire goal, but rather break it into smaller ones. However, if we forget to check in with what end result we are trying to create, it can lead to tunnel vision and sometimes a sense of feeling stuck.

In today's society, instant gratification seems to be glorified. I think many of us can admit that we get frustrated when things take longer than we expected. But what if we leaned into the process a little more, what if we were okay with being "slow to grow" and having it take time to get to where we want to be or being the person we are trying to become? Maybe this would allow us to enjoy the process a little more as well as appreciate each step it takes for us to get to something we are striving for.

In today's society, it is easy to compare one's life to another. It is easy to overlook our own accomplishments or our own joys in life because at our fingertips are the accomplishments of everyone else. In this episode, I chat about those in our life that we unknowingly place on the back burner. When we have a goal, it is important to lean into it and give it our all, but who are those individuals that are supporting us along the way? Do we thank them? Do we acknowledge them? All too often I allow my burdens and feelings of anxiousness or being overwhelmed to get placed on those I love. I overlook their needs and our relationship and put them on the back burner. So I challenge you to ask yourself who is being put on the back burner in your life?

In this episode, I chat about how I personally started manifesting things in my life and how that slowly expanded into actionable steps to help them come to fruition. Manifesting can be such a powerful tool, but it can also be intimidating when you don't know where to start. Throughout the episode, I encourage you to simply start! In this episode I chat about the things in life that at one point were seen as "untouchable;" we would glorify these things and oftentimes imagine what life would be like with them. This could be a relationship, a dream job, a home that we prayed for. Many of us now are living a life with these things we once saw as untouchables and forget or overlook to find gratitude in them. I am guilty of going through the motions and filling my day with recognizing the "stressors" or "anxieties" of life rather than noticing things I need to be grateful for.

In this episode I chat about the upcoming season change of Summer to Fall. Often we reflect on the "season" of life and how each one is different from the next, but I believe we also go through emotional transitions from one seasonal change to the next. The Summer to Fall transition can be hard for many, but if you look at it as an opportunity to lean into some goals you have for yourself, it can be that perfect reset so many of us need. There is no reason to wait until January to create a plan of action and make changes in our lives. Let's take time now to reflect and create a plan with actionable steps to work towards bettering ourselves and allowing our goals to come to fruition.

In this episode I chat about how we often find ourselves consumed by the things we cannot control rather than maintain a positive mindset. Sometimes these things we cannot control truly do consume us and we tend to lean into the stressful energy they cause, but being aware of this can be our first step in trying to lean into the aspects of life that bring us joy.

In this episode, I talk about the struggles of being a people pleaser and how it can lead to extreme emotional drainage. Many of us do not realize how much we are taking on from other things in our lives, that we forget to check in with our own needs and desires. When was the last time you said "no" to something in order to say "yes" to yourself? I personally tend to overlook my own needs and desires because I get so consumed by the emotional well being of others that I put my own emotional state at risk.

Why do we wait until things fall apart or something goes wrong to take action? In this episode, I chat about the number of things in our life that we could be proactive about, but rather we wait until everything falls apart before deciding to make a change or take a step in a specific direction.

In this episode I open up a lot about relationship stuff I have been through and things that I expected to unfold for my love story. I talk about cheating, insecurities, trust issues, all of the above. I think many of us paint a love story in our head and wait for it to unfold and when it doesn't, we do anything we can to try and make our story fit the script. But sometimes, it's allowing us to rewrite the story and find an even better love.

In this episode, I talk about my current struggles with anxiety as well as our instinct to suppress many emotions we are feeling. I think it is very easy for many of us to overlook how we are actually feeling and we forget that we are entitled to our emotions. As for myself, I have been consumed with anxiety lately and really trying to acknowledge what my current triggers are. My hope is that no one feels alone in the emotions they are feeling and they know it is okay to open up about them.

So often in life we have this expectation for how our own personal life story is going to unfold. But when something changes we don't know how to move forward. In this episode I talk about allowing ourselves to close the chapters of our past or close the chapters or struggles we keep reliving, and allow ourselves to start writing the next chapter. Be your own narrator of your own life.

In this episode I chat about the ebbs and flows of each of our journeys. It is so easy to get frustrated and remain complacent where we are at because we feel stuck in our current season of life, but I think it is important that every journey has ebbs and flows. You might relate to this in your health and fitness journey, maybe your relationship, or maybe your current career path. Don't stop, focus on the next peak ahead of you and keep going.

Do you ever wake up on Mondays with this automatic "monday mindset?" You could have an amazing day planned ahead of you but for some reason, the fact that it is Monday just consumes you. One thing I have been struggling with lately is looking at things that need to get done in my life yet cannot be done in the current day and somehow are taking away from me being present. In this episode, I encourage us all to reflect on these mindsets some of us might be experiencing in order to recognize them and potentially change them to actually start being present in the moment.

Have you ever come off an incredible weekend or vacation or maybe your wedding and just been on such a high? You feel so energized and ready to tackle the week or all your goals ahead, and then after a few days/weeks, the excitement of that high fizzles out. In this episode, I chat about how we can all ride the high, but it's the actionable steps we take after in order to maintain that high. This can be in business, in our relationships, as well as just everyday life. Experiencing the energy and the high of an event in life is one thing, but taking that energy and putting it into action is another.

I always preach that consistency is key. But at some point, we often find ourselves loosening the reins in areas of our life that once we had so much discipline in. In this episode I talk about how many of us can start working towards a goal with such drive and discipline but as the accomplished goal gets closer, rather than pushing as hard as we can through the finish line, we back off and stop putting forth the same effort we started with. If consistency is key, I need to check in with myself and figure out when something is simply routine and when I should actually be pushing myself and working harder.

Take pride. Whether it’s pride in ownership, our pride in your work, take pride. It’s easy to see things as a chore, whether it’s a task at work, a house project that needs to get done, or our daily workout. It all just becomes part of the “to-do list.” When we miss out on the process, we miss out on the part that allows us to take pride in our work. In this episode, I hope you are able to find areas in your life that you can take more pride in rather than simply having it as another item on your to-do list of life.

A common question I get asked is "how do you make money on social media?" In this episode I break down how I personally make money on my social media platform as well as share where some of the money is currently going or being saved for future projects. It is because of this community that I am able to do what I do so I like to be as transparent as possible.

Do you ever question everything you are doing and how you are doing it? Maybe it's how you parent, maybe it's how you workout, maybe it's how you decorate your home. Sometimes I feel as though no matter what we do or how we do it, someone will always have a comment to say. When do we stop worrying about these comments though? When do we just stick the course and do the best we can?

In this episode, I chat about the struggles many of us face with allowing ourselves to turn off and simply be present. Whether it is turning off from work, stepping away from parenting, or turning off our phones for a bit. We are constantly being pulled in a direction and over time it can become draining. Allowing ourselves to turn off is something many of us can work on, and in addition to this, we can also be more aware when we should allow others in our life to turn off and have their time as well. This is something I need to work on in my marriage for sure!

I have heard for as long as I have been in the health and fitness industry that "the body follows the mind." But recently this has been holding true in more ways than I could imagine. Our mindset towards anything in life is beyond powerful. I challenge you to take note in certain areas of your life where your mindset might actually be impacting more things than you are aware of.

In this episode I chat about a concept I have been working on myself as well as with many girls in my Facebook community. Where does "life" live? So often, we lean so heavily into a goal that we forget to account for sustainability in life. This usually is a health or fitness goal, but it also can be for business goals or relationships. There is a time and place to full heartedly lean into a goal, but we also have to recognize at what cost? Where does "life" live for you?

I believe confidence is a choice we can make daily. There is a difference between hiding an actual struggle that we should seek help about, but actually waking up and deciding to choose confidence is something most of us can do. Often, we are stuck in our current habits and mindsets and don't recognize the simple shift needed to work on instilling confidence in ourselves. We might wish for confidence or assume others have it when we don't, but I think it's a conscious effort that we must make in order to choose confidence.

For the longest time I felt like I would finally "know who I am" once I had a title. I felt as though a title gave me value. Being a mom has illuminated how many different hats I wear throughout the day and how much better it feels to not have a specific title that defines me. Who are you aside from your titles? How do you make other people feel when they are around you? Removing our titles sometimes allows us to find ourselves.

They say that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. I don't know about you but lately in today's world, I have not been spending a lot of time with anyone. My moods, creativity, productivity and all of the above are not being impacted by the amazing individuals in my life. The energy I love to feel and experience from surrounding myself with uplifting people is currently not an in person experience. In this episode, I challenge all of us to consider our surroundings and figure out how we are being impacted.

In this episode I had the privilege of interviewing my personal assistant. Yes, you read that right, I have finally asked and accepted help! Angela is someone who inspires and motivates me and is in a season of life where she had to push age aside in order to start digging deeper into her goals and dreams. We discuss the need to have stimulation in order to have motivation. Not all steps are going to be forward but even the steps to the side are still getting us closer to where we want to be.

It is one thing for us to wish for something, it is another thing to know that it will take hard work to achieve it. So many of us choose to not take the steps towards our goals because we need others approval or validation or we assume it has already been done so why would we try to pursue our goals. If you have a goal or dream that you are sitting on, do the hard work to make it come to life! Don't seek approval. Don't compare to how others have made it happen. Let YOUR story shine. Let YOUR purpose drive the idea and make the dream come to life. Start the blog. Start the business. Go for the promotion. It will take hard work but it will be worth it.

Relationships are hard. They take work. They are not perfect like much of social media portrays them to be. Can you define a season of your life by the diet you were on? Can you remember an exact weight you were at a specific moment in your life? For a majority of my life there has always been some diet that has defined that moment in time. From restricting to cutting out food groups, I have always been on some sort of a diet. With the New Year in full swing, I challenge you to figure out who and what is defining your diet? Is social media impacting it? Is it friends and family? Or is it your WHY that is allowing you to make changes you will actually stick to?

Stop making excuses. Stop holding yourself back. More often than not, we are creating excuses that are holding us back from taking the steps towards our goals. Sometimes, these excuses are actually valid reasons, but in many cases, they are simply excuses that are only holding us back. Evaluate the excuses you have created in your life and allow yourself to take the step towards reaching what you want for yourself!

I recorded this episode about 15 days before we had our miscarriage. I was really struggling emotionally and mentally in the first trimester and wanted to sit down to record how I was feeling but ended up never sharing this due to the miscarriage. I had a lot of insecurities during the first trimester that I didn't know how to process. There was so much I was holding in and I needed to get it all out there. It has now been a year and a half and I know other pregnant mamas might feel this way or may have felt this way and I never want anyone to feel alone in their journey!

In today's world there is a lot of change many of us are hoping to see. Often these changes lead to differences in opinions but many times we want the same things but express them differently. In a world where viewpoints are plastered across social media, it can be hard to express ourselves appropriately or even know where to start. One thing I have learned a lot throughout the last year is that it starts at home - it starts within. If I want to see the change, I need to BE the change. I need to grow as an individual, educate myself, and have conversations within my home with my growing family. I have attached another episode that you might enjoy about getting uncomfortable with my very good friend Danyele Wilson.

The time will pass. It is what we choose to do with that time that will dictate where we end up at the end of it. I am someone who thrives under pressure but more often than not, I look back at how much time has passed since knowing I needed to get something done and I realize I have not used my time wisely. With it being the New Year, I encourage you to reflect on things you might be procrastinating on or waiting for the perfect timing to start and realize that there will never be a perfect time. If you are someone who is waiting for the New Year to turn a page in your life, that is okay! Sometimes having that distinct fresh start is what we need! I challenge you though, as we go into the New Year, take into consideration your mental and emotional wellbeing. If you have a physical goal, that is wonderful! But don't forget about taking care of the mental and emotional side of the journey. Instead of "new year, new me," let's go into it with "new year, BETTER me!" Let's show up for ourselves every day and work on being our best selves.

Do your goals scare you? Do you lean into the goals you have for yourself or do you shy away from them? For much of my life, I have assumed everything needs to be perfect before I start something. I have to have the plan all figured out before executing which ends up leading to me not even taking the first step. But what we assume to be perfect today, will change tomorrow! Society and its standards are constantly changing so it is up to us to create our own standards for ourselves and set out to achieve our goals!

In this episode, I chat about the struggles many of us experience when we try to keep up with everything we see or hear on social media. Many of us are constantly comparing our lives to those that we see as we scroll daily or the new trends that pop up and it can be detrimental to our own well being. Life is somewhat of a hot mess and that is perfectly fine!

In this episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with MaryEllen Reider about the pelvic floor and the many benefits we can achieve by properly engaging the muscles associated with our pelvic floor. I personally did not become familiar with the pelvic floor until pregnancy, however taking the time to learn how to train this group of muscles can be beneficial for a number of reasons! We discuss everything from how the pelvic floor can aid us in our workouts as well as in our intimate life. This is a conversation that often is a bit taboo but we break down some walls and create a discussion around it.
MaryEllen also takes the time to inform us of a medical device called "Yarlap" to help assist us in our pelvic floor work. She emphasizes the importance of speaking with our doctors if we think there is an issue but also discusses ways we can be improving our pelvic floor from home! MaryEllen is happy to answer any questions and can be reached at info@yarlap.com or you can send a DM to their instagram at @yarlap_otc. If you are interested in looking up this medical device, you can find it at yarlap.com. This is by no means sponsored but I am very fascinated to learn more about it!

In this episode I chat with my sister, Kyla Jo Miller, all about the impact of social media from the perspective of a consumer. She is currently 24 years old, in her senior year of college and getting ready to start her career. We discuss how it is easy to fall victim of trends on social media and how it often impacts what we think of ourselves as well as how we live our lives.

So often we get wrapped up in our current diets or the diet trend of the month that we forget how to eat entirely. We then hear the words "intuitive eating" get tossed around throughout the health and fitness world, but what does that mean? If I simply ate intuitively, the entire jar of white chocolate chips would disappear. But what about "mindful eating?" What about taking a few moments to decide how a certain food or meal will make us feel? Would that help us stray away from diet culture and possibly just eat according to our needs and desires? In this episode, I have the privilege of talking to Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Malia W. all about mindful eating and her creation of the "Food + Mood Journal." You can find Malia on Instagram @malia.wellenesscoach and at foodandmoodjournal.com or vineandbranchnt.com/restart.

In this episode I chat about the mindset many of us have in regards to people on social media or possibly in our own every day life. Too often I think we find ourselves competing and comparing with those around us when we could actually be finding ourselves motivated, inspired and learning from these individuals. Mindset shifts are challenging but in this episode I encourage you to look at areas in your life where you could grow and learn from others rather than self sabotaging by comparing and competing.

I say "make it a great day" every single day. It started with my husband Casey and then became a staple in my daily messages. It is a mindset shift that allows us to recognize that it is a choice to make the day great. Not every day is going to be amazing, but when we go about our day with intention to make it great, it can help us shift our energy. Words are powerful, and the shift from "have a great day" to "make it a great day" is very powerful.

When was the last time you told yourself you WILL achieve all your goals? The support that many of us need in order to achieve our goals is not always there. The journey is not the flattering part, it's the attention people receive once they have reached their goals that creates motivation and inspiration. Don't miss out on the journey though just because the glitz and glam is not there yet. People and loved one's may not always be there to cheer you on, you will have days of self doubt, but if you believe you can, then you will. Believing is half the battle. Next is taking the steps. Take the steps.

I am officially 9.5 weeks postpartum after our first kiddo. In this episode I chat about all the physical, emotional, and mental things I have experienced these last two months. It has officially been one year since releasing the first episode of my podcast! There are so many things I expected and intended to have unfold over the last year but I have learned that goals and intentions often evolve over time and that does not mean we did not accomplish them. In this episode I ask you "what is a year to you?" Do you see the year starting on January 1st? Maybe it is the new school year? Maybe it is from your birthday? Whatever the year is to you, reflect upon it and make the adjustments necessary in order to keep your goals and intentions in sight. Thank you for an incredible first year of this crazy over easy life!

I think many of us fall victim of judging others based off of our own insecurities. Unknowingly, we might judge someone else because they are confident and comfortable in their skin or where they are at in life but it is actually a direct reflection of our own insecurities. I believe it is important to use these moments to self reflect and figure out where this judgement is coming from.

As women, we often feel like our body is "supposed" to be able to perform a certain way for us. Whether it is to have children, whether it is to breastfeed, whether it is to look a certain way. We place these expectations on ourselves and when we are unable to achieve what is expected, we feel as though our body has failed us. In this episode I chat about my feelings of my body failing me throughout my journey and currently as a new mom. I want your take away to be that our bodies and our worth are SO much more than what we assume or what others expect from us.

Casey and I chat about the struggles we have encountered over the last month and how we are working on overcoming them as well as growing within our new roles. The best piece of advice I was given before Cayden was born was to not use the phrase, “I can’t wait until.” Throughout life, I often catch myself saying “I can’t wait until...” Whether it's looking forward to a trip, getting excited about the holidays, or struggling through the new mom season, sometimes we don’t even recognize we are waiting or missing out on a moment until we make statements like this. But let’s try and change our script, get excited about what's ahead but not miss out on today.

The statement "it gets better" has been shared with me a lot the last few weeks. I think this is a statement that many of us hear when we are going through a transition or possibly a hard time in life. People will say this to you and for many of us, it seems SO far off. While you know they are probably right, it's just not in your ability to see right now. Whether you are on the new motherhood journey, starting your own health and fitness journey, or maybe starting a new job, the comment of "it gets better" can be hard to process. Let's allow ourselves to use that statement as a crutch to keep taking steps forward, but understand that it is okay to struggle.

We had a BOY! On August 22nd 2020 at 12:41am we brought our sweet little boy into this world! He needed some extra love and had to spend a few nights in the NICU but he is home now and we are all healthy! This was one of the most emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting experiences of my life but one that I will remember forever. Welcome to the world Cayden Patterson Dell!

We are allowed to ask for help. We are allowed to want help! We are allowed to need help! Asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness. As I have said in the past, we cannot do everything and do anything well. Are we capable of doing it all? Absolutely! But we do not have to! Evaluate your life, evaluate your needs, and recognize when help could be extremely beneficial for you and your life!

I am someone who needs to know the “why” or needs to have every question addressed prior to taking a step forward. Seeking answers and understanding the “why” is more than okay! But don’t let that hold you back from moving forward in whatever area of your life you are feeling stuck in. You are not alone and these transitional periods in life are normal! Take that next step. You’ve got this!

This was a message/quote I wrote down in my journal over a month ago and I keep coming back to it. There will never be a perfect time for anything. We will never be fully ready to take that next step. There will always be some form of doubt or fear that will be present, so why not just do it afraid? In this episode, I encourage you to ask yourself, have you ever chosen NOT to do something simply out of the fear of failing? Or possibly chosen the easier route to ensure you achieve?

37 weeks pregnant and it is time to wrap up this pregnancy with a Third Trimester Update because we do not know when this little bundle is going to make his/her debut! I get real and raw in this episode, a bit TMI at times, but regardless of your journey, regardless if you are pregnant or not, I want us all to remember that sometimes we only see the glamorous moments of other people's lives. While I have LOVED being pregnant, these past few weeks have been ROUGH and at times I am very unsure of the things that are happening to my body. I want to keep it real and let you all in on the not so glamorous moments. Thank you for being a community I feel comfortable enough doing that with!
Also, HERE is the diaper bag I am OBSESSED with! I am so excited I finally found one that I love so much!

How often do you find yourself in a funk and lacking motivation? You have good intentions and you think you will do "all the stuff" to help you reach your goals, but then you end up doing nothing. This is where I ask my girls to dive deep. Motivation will NOT always be there and that's OKAY! But we need to still be able to show up for ourselves and establish a WHY that is deeper than these moments when we lack motivation. In this episode, I unpack how I work through these times of being in a funk and lacking motivation, and ask questions that can allow you to break through these times in your journey.

More often than not, we are running someone else's race unknowingly. We somehow lose sight of the path we are intended to be on and continue taking steps forward on a path that most likely is not fulfilling us. In this episode, I take some time to reflect about myself falling victim of being on other paths that I thought were expected of me to be on, rather than looking to my own path. We need to take the time to evaluate how we are running our race, make any adjustments necessary, and stay close to our lane. "Run your race well, because you were made for this."

In today's episode, I had the opportunity to chat with Isabel Sprinkles. We talk all about the transitions of life and how they can impact us in many different ways while also sometimes avoiding these transitions or new paths that show up in life out of fear of going after what our passion might be fueling. For Isabel, we talked all about her new journey in life and how her passion is beginning to fuel her profession. As someone who likes to discuss what the journey looks like along the way, it was a privilege to have Isabel on the show to hear first hand what some of this transition looks like while she is currently in the thick of it.

In this episode I had the privilege of chatting with Danyele Wilson again. In today’s conversation we talk about the Black Lives Matter movement and the importance of understanding that this is more than just a movement when it is brought to our attention through the media. I open up about my discomfort among some aspects of this topic due to lack of knowledge and Danyele expresses that change requires discomfort! This is a conversation that needs to be continued within our homes rather than just brought to our attention at a specific moment due to the media.

This episode was so fun to record with Casey! We chat all about our current pregnancy and answer the questions that were asked by all of you. In this episode you will hear about whether or not Casey feels like a dad yet, how we are both adjusting to the current changes in our relationship as well as how we plan on adjusting to future changes once the little bundle enters this world. This is a loaded episode and some of Casey's responses left me so surprised! I cannot wait for all of you to listen!
These are some of the books Casey has been reading that he finds really helpful:

I can admit that I do not know a lot. I have a lot to process. A lot to learn. And I will grow from these uncomfortable times. As hard as it is for me to talk about this, it is something I need to go through, experience, and educate myself on especially with bringing a little one into THIS world. It starts at home.
I have a highlight on my Instagram of resources that I have found helpful to learn and take action on the Black Lives Matter Movement.
I found this video to be extremely helpful to create conversation with our kiddos about race. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CA9NVjcFdIo/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Please continue to share any resources with me to help me further learn, educate and integrate this into my home. Thank you for being a supportive community that is growing WITH me.

Becoming a mom is a different journey for each and every one of us. If Casey and I had not had a miscarriage, our little bundle would be due this week. While we are SO excited about our current bundle of joy, I wanted to make this weeks episode about the journey to kiddos and really shed light on the fact that it is SO different for each of us. My dear friend Alyssa Greene allowed me to interview her about her journey to becoming a mom and how it does not always pan out the way we expect. Alyssa is such a light in this world and while she and her husband do not have kiddos yet, she knows they are in God's plan for her. Accepting this and accepting her current journey has not been an easy path and she takes us through both the mental and emotional shifts that have gotten her to where she is today.
One point both Alyssa and I wanted to drive home is SO many of us struggle with fertility or miscarriage and are looking for answers, but we think we are not entitled to these struggles or these feelings until an answer validates us... but that is not the case! Whether we are trying to figure out the direction our life is going after college or whether we are trying to navigate a career path, I think many of us experience what I consider the "quarter life crisis." This is where we feel as though nothing makes sense and we have NO idea where the direction of our life is going. However, I don't think many of us take the time to recognize this transitional season of our life, but rather we get frustrated and often discouraged about where our life is heading. In this episode, I reflect on my quarter life crisis as well as explain that sometimes what we perceive as a challenge, is actually just a pivotal moment in our life that we get to learn and grow from.

In this episode, I chat with Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Malia W., about what our body is trying to tell us. So often we think our struggles around food or cravings is our own lack of willpower when, in fact, it could be our body simply responding to anything from a mineral deficiency to lack of sleep. Malia explains specific biofeedback our body tells us and how we can change and create better daily habits to respond to what our body is telling us, rather than constantly feeling defeated.

In this episode I chat with Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, Malia W., about our daily habits. We discuss how we can create actionable steps to establish daily habits for some of the most simple tasks like drinking water, yet so many us struggle with this. Many of us are living a new "normal" right now and maybe finding it difficult to adjust daily routines to establish new habits.
We created a little mini challenge that we would love for all of you to participate in. All you have to do is tag us in your stories, @malia.wellnesscoach and @carlyanndell, and use the hashtag #HabitChallenge to show us how you are getting in your water throughout they day, making your bed, and preparing you daily vitamins so you are creating consistency within your every day life. We cannot wait to see all the different ways we get to learn from you about how to incorporate these daily habits!

So often we try to do as many things as possible because we think this makes us a better person. But if we are always attempting to do everything, this leaves us unable to do anything well. Sometimes being "busy" does not mean we are being productive. I know it is easy to compare ourselves to others and what they might be doing in their every day life, but just because someone else is doing something, does not mean we need to do it also. Focus in more on the things you are good at and the priorities that matter to you and do them well!.

People will not always agree with you. People will not always support you. People will sometimes just straight up tear you down! And you know what, that is okay!
I have always been a people pleaser for as long as I can remember, and filling other people up truly does bring me joy. But when this really started to become an issue, was when I let other people's opinion dictate my every move.

In this episode, I chat with Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, Malia, on our daily nutritional needs on a micronutrient level. We chat about supplementing with whole food sources first in order to reach our daily micronutrient needs as well as address when supplements might be needed to bridge the gap in a whole food diet. Malia breaks down the common deficiencies seen in today's Standard American Diet (SAD) and gives us helpful information on ways we can combat these deficiencies. We also briefly discuss how we can boost our immune system and ensure we have our strongest defense to fight illness or disease.

We are officially 15 weeks and trying to embrace every aspect of this miracle without fear. In this episode I chat all about my first trimester - it was not an easy one with a number of challenges but we made it through! In this episode, I chat with Functional Nutrition Therapy Practitioner, Malia, about nutrition for performance. Throughout the episode we break down "performance" as it can pertain to fitness, career, creativity, and all of life in general! Malia talks about the basics of nutrition for performance but also the importance of understanding that our bio individuality plays a huge role in each of our nutritional needs. What works for one of us, might not work for another.

In this episode, I reflect and chat about a journal entry I made the month before I started going to therapy in 2018. I wrote that I was living a life based around "what do they want?" rather than asking myself "what do I want?" I break down these two questions throughout this episode and give insight on how I have made the switch to lean into my wants and needs over the last year rather than putting so much emphasis on the wants of others.

For many of us, nutrition is the one aspect of our health and wellness journey that confuses us, makes us frustrated, and often times leaves us feeling defeated. We go from one diet to the next or try to copy what our favorite influencer is trying that month and we never seem to find success. In this episode I am joined by my good friend Malia who is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She discusses the basics of nutrition as well as helps share her insight on where we should try to start when it comes to our own personal nutrition plans.

I have mentioned my time in "Club Med" in numerous episodes so I thought it was time to fully dive in and explain what exactly is "Club Med." I asked Casey to be a part of this episode to hear his point of view of Club Med as well as where he was at in life when he made the decision to start working for Club Med. Many of us fall victim of feeling like we need an exact path or plan for our life to unfold to and in those years towards the end of college or post college it can cause a lot of anxiety. I open up not only about the unconventional transition into working for Club Med, but also about how I had to lose myself in order to find myself. I hope this episode gives a glimpse into my years of working for Club Med as well as gives you a sense of permission to be okay with not knowing exactly where your life is headed.

In today's society we often feel like we need to have a title or a specific niche that defines us. But what about those transitional periods of life from one season to the next where we are not exactly sure where we fit it? We are unable to place a title or a specific group upon ourselves to define where we fit in. We all want to feel a sense of belonging and be accepted, so we try our hardest to find where exactly we fit it. In this episode I chat about my struggles with not knowing where I "fit in" and how it is okay to navigate through your current season of life without a specific title.

I think many of us mistake "balance" as a destination. So many of us are striving to achieve balance in our life and we are waiting for a feeling or moment when finally everything in our life is balanced. Rather than striving for something that might never be attained, what if we looked at balance as something that is continually evolving throughout our life. During each season of our life, balance will look and feel different, so rather than trying to reach balance as a destination, let's focus on where we are at in life and what balance might look like in that moment.

In this episode, Laura and I dive into the areas of our life where we often struggle as well as take the time to chat about what we consider "maintenance mode." Often times we feel like we constantly need to be striving for that next thing to further ourselves in life, in business, in relationships, etc. We both agree that it is important to take steps forward every day to better ourselves or work towards our best self, but when do we take the time to appreciate where we are at? When do we allow ourselves to feel proud and/or happy with the current moment we are in? "Maintenance Mode" can leave many of us feeling stuck and/or uncertain about that next direction in life, but in this episode Laura and I dive into the importance and appreciation of being okay in what we are considering "maintenance mode."

Let me paint you a picture, life was nearly perfect. I was newly engaged, wedding details were panning out, it was almost summer, I was in the best physical shape I had ever been in, yet I was entirely numb. In this episode I finally opening up and share about my time seeing a therapist and my experience with it. Often times therapy is still considered a taboo word and people are uncomfortable to talk about it or talk about their need to maybe see a therapist. By sharing my story, I hope to possibly break down some of this stigma and shed some light on how great therapy can be for many of us.

With the New Year (and new decade!?) here, I know many of us love to set New Years goals and/or resolutions. But do you actually stick to them? Or do they end up causing you stress and anxiety because if you do not accomplish all of them within the first week you feel defeated? Because SAME! The goals we often set for ourselves are actually just "wishes." We write them down and hope they come true. But more often than not, we do not set actionable steps to helps us achieve those goals. Let's change that and make 2020 the best year yet!

In this episode, my husband Casey and I talk about our experience of being pregnant as well as our experience with a miscarriage. For the first time, we sit down and discuss from both of our point of views how we felt about being pregnant, Casey's reaction to finding out we were pregnant, how he felt about my mood swings while being pregnant, where our emotions were at through the process of us having a miscarriage, and everything in between. It is a very raw episode and one we both really enjoyed recording.

Many of us are in seasons of what we would consider "waiting" and it is causing us to miss out on that specific place we are at in life. Waiting is often the hardest part within a specific journey, but if we recognize these seasons of our life, we can learn from them rather than missing out on the potential reason behind them. In this episode I dive into the many different occasions in life when we may find ourselves "waiting" and discuss how we can switch our mindset to appreciate these times and grow from them.

So often we focus on our "health and fitness" goals but we leave out the importance of our "mental" health. In this episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my good friend Sam Gwaz and chatting about her health and fitness journey but diving into her mental health journey which is when all the pieces actually started coming together for her. If you are anything like me, my mental health is something I push to the side a bit too often and through my discussion with Sam, this could actually be where all of my answers and revolutions lie.

Are you on a "health" journey or a "fitness" journey? In this episode I unpack my fitness journey over the past 4 years and how I got to where I am today. I have struggled with disordered eating most of my life and use to believe that my value was based off of my size. I further discuss how I finally realized that health and fitness are two entirely different things and take you through the ups and downs I dealt with while trying to figure out what "health" looks like for me rather than letting the size of my clothes or the number on the scale define it for me.

Do you find yourself planning or preparing for failure? Or maybe finding the "out" in a situation if things do not go as planned? In this episode I chat about the fear of failure holding us back and also acknowledge that many of us have a "back up plan" or a "way out" in situations that might not succeed. This can be in our fitness journey, our relationships, our work, or in a number of different places in our lives! Planning for failure can unknowingly consume us and hold us back from putting all our efforts into the life we are living.

Are you someone who seeks support or validation from others? In this episode I unpack how for a majority of my life I have been seeking validation from others and I did not even realize it. We live in a society where we are hyper focused, as well as hyper aware, of what other people think about us.
