It took a while to get this one done. Worth the wait though as Tenners takes us through who would bat for his life, bowling to Sajid Ali and that last ball debacle in the Scottish Cup.
Winning the Counties Championship back in 1985 was a highlight for Jon Taylor. We relive those days and talk about that man Appleby from Ayrshire again, David Haggo, Neil Burnett, Bruce Patterson, Stanners, Andy Andrew Tennant, Gordon Webster, Bruce Russell, George McGuire, Peter Rhind all get a namecheck. It's a who's who of Scottish Cricket. And apparently, we were all Freddie Mercury in those days!

Played with Billy back in the day. What I didn't know was that he made his Scotland debut at the grand old age of 32. We covered alot here - even the Mankads but forgot to ask him about the iconic 1979 photo of the Scottish Cup which hangs in the clubhouse. Grab a coffee and sit in for 45 mins of great chat.
Probably one of the most successful Scottish players to have a go down south and make a real impact since Douggie Brown. He talks frankly about his time at Durham and Northants, being touted as a Lion, confidence, and change. It's one of our best. Enjoy

OTS gold this morning as we were subjected to a batting master class from Andrew Mark Reed and some great chat from Dumfries skipper Colin McCutcheon aka Chris McCutcheon. David Hinchliffe drops by to tell us how to make a cake and on the carpentry side of things, we ask Al Rawlinson how to make a desk as there's no cricket and the prospects are becoming bleaker by the week. Lockdown and we are into week 5 and the prospects for play are not good. We had a chat this morning with Matthew Tweedie, the Stirling County Cricket Club skipper. He gave us his take on the upcoming season and a little bit about last season. We delved into teas, superstitions, and our own fielding disasters. Here is this week's show.

This week we chat over last weeks results as West loosen their grip on the title race and Drumps get drawn in well and truly to the relegation dog fight. Stirling must also have some concerns as they try and eke out another couple of victories to ensure safety. No change at the top as Prestwick and The Villagers march on. Bit of a shorter one this week but some great chat with Bryan Clarke. Vroooooommm vroooommmm....
So Ferguslie look to have loosened their grip on the title after a reverse against Uddy and Greenock leapfrog Drumpies in the relegation tussle. This week, we talk The Union's poor showing in the Scottish Cup, red cards and Round 12. We look to be entering a couple of quite weeks in The Union before it starts to hot up with the top four going head to head over the last four weeks. Enjoy
So here we are. 1/4 Final Sunday and Ferguslie, West and County are still in The Big Cup. All on their travels with trips to Aberdeen, the capital and The Red Lichties, we talk to Riyaad Henry, Matthew Tweedie and Ian Young on their team's prospects for today's encounters. Back on Tuesday with the review of Round 11.
Greenock, at last, get their first win and must be looking forward to their 50 pointer against Drumps this weekend. Ferguslie keeps top three wary with a win at Clydesdale. West avoid the banana skin at Shawholm whilst Drumps get lucky at Uddy. Would Prestwick have struggled to defend 177? This week we look forward to a set of games which is likely to tell us more about the bottom than the top as Greenock entertain the Coatbridge faithful. Halfway and Uddy are out in front closely pursued by Prestwick, West and Ferguslie. Has there ever been a more closely contested league. Down amongst the deadmen its a three way battle between Drumps, Greenock and EK. In Round 9 we saw Ferguslie drop points and the Scottish Cup begin to take shape. Great week for a lot of The Union clubs in the Scottish Cup with 8 clubs progressing into the last 16. Not a good 7 days for Uddy though as they capitulate twice in a week and suffer an exit from the Rowan. No rest for them as Prestwick entertain the Uddy boys in what is a crucial game for both sides. We run the rule of Round 8, pontificate about the Ayr situation and talk rubbish about cricket in general and the Western Union specifically. It's a two cup show!
We have not had a chance to speak to Matt Tweedie who skippers Stirling County this year. Matt has tonnes of experience having skipper County for 4 years. That's some effort from him given his weekly work schedule so I doff my cap for sticking with it for so long. We chat about last week, the season so far, aspirations and their past history in the Scottish Cup. Let's hope the clouds don't roll in too quickly tomorrow
We went live on FB again but only got 40 mins of the show so we got Youngy's interview but not Bryan's. Listen to both interviews now as Uddy and West go head to head this week in the biggest matchup this week. Also, Chris takes the chocolate challenge, Johnny introduces a controversial new dismissal and of course there is the preview of this week's matches and a review of Round 6. When is it going to stop raining?
Another washout but that didn't deter us from getting East Kilbride's Moneeb Iqbal in for a chat with Johnny and Chris "Cross" Ross - you know you've made it when you get a nickname in podcasting! We talk about EK's chances of survival, Warriors, Scotland, and legends of the game in the west - even Droopy gets a namecheck! Let's hope for a dry spell over the next day or so and we can actually talk about some cricket next week.
With only two games surviving the weather last week we had to endure Ian Young again! But we had a new face in the shape of Mitchell Rao who filled in to tell us about Prestwick's chase against Greenock. We talk to them both about the tomorrow - the game of the day when one of the teams will lose their 100% record. We learn that Mitchell is not playing tomorrow so does that mean West are slight favourites going into the game? We also take our first foray into Facebook Live! Grab a cup of Joe and settle in as Chris and Johnny talk their usual nonsense about cricket in the west.
We finally caught up with Shahzad Rafiq to chat through last week's comprehensive win against East Kilbride after he failed to trap due to golf commitments. He knows his side faces sterner tests in the coming week as the biggest game of the season looms against West in a fortnight. He backs his team to continue their winning ways against Greenock and makes a rather surprising call regarding Dale's game against East Kilbride. Chris and Johnny take the reins again for a review of Round 3. The league starts to take shape with a bit of a divide starting to emerge between the teams that won this week and the rest. Having said that, the league is likely to be so tight that if you string together three wins in a row you could see yourself catapulted into contention. Slingshots required for Greenock and Stirling!
Not sure what play we'll get tomorrow as the rain begins to take hold this evening. Nevertheless, Bod and I take a look at this week's tussles and look back at Brewster's career from his time as a pro with Clydesdale, his sourjon with Ayrshire and of course his time with his beloved Ayr. We talk about winning the Union and their Scottish Cup win against West. Good to catch up with him. Always has an opinion.
