On 23 April 2007, captain Ray Bowyer was flying a routine passenger flight for the civilian airliner Aurigny Air Services, when he and his passengers gained progressively clearer views of two UFOs during a 12 to 15 minute period. Bowyer had 18 years of flying experience,and the 45-minute flight was one that he had completed every working day for more than 8 years
'They would never come to our beautiful Guernsey! What would they get out of a tiny place like this?' But the Germans did come and in his diaries the Reverend Douglas Ord recounts, in riveting detail, the story of what they did to the islanders during the Occupation years.

On Friday 28 June 1940, three German aircraft bombed the island, focussing on the White Rock.
At the time of the attack, shortly before 1900 BST, the island's tomato trucks were lined up on the pier and 49 of them were destroyed or damaged.
The bombing killed 34 people and injured many others.
Molly Bihet lived in St Peter Port at the time of the bombing. She said: "We were in Les Canichers walking home and these three planes came very low from the north... my mother pushed us into the closest house and we went down to the basement and we were hearing the noise, we were really terrified."
