In Luke 10:38–42, we learn that Mary’s decision to sit at Jesus’ feet wasn’t just about pausing from busyness, it was an intentional act of discipleship, choosing purpose, inheritance, and the lasting treasure of God's Word. The story reveals how easily our minds can be troubled by distractions and concerns that pull us away from what really matters. Ultimately, we are called to invest in the irreplaceable 5% the few things in life that only we can do which requires clarity, conviction, and trust in God to live with purpose.

As we grow in our relationship with God and walk in obedience to Him, we become deeply rooted by His spirit. When this happens we start to bear Godly fruit. In our walk it's important not to forget where the fruit comes from. We need to be able to humble ourselves by laying down our worldly desires before the Lord.

When we come together as the body of Christ, not only does it strengthen our spiritual growth as individuals but it builds a powerful connection in the church as a whole. The Bible is clear that our battle is not just against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. When we try to deal with people without considering the spiritual aspect to them, there is going to be frustration and failure.

Jesus lived a perfect life. It was completely for the glory of God, and not to himself. This seems ideal but it also means that people would accuse him of things—he wasn't the Messiah, he was a madman, even that he was demon-possessed—and he never defended himself. He only defended God.

Matthew 5:27-32 explains that the law goes deeper then we think when it comes to adultery and divorce. It is not about toeing the line and seeing how close we can get before it is labeled a sin, it is about the heart. Being righteous is not just doing righteous things.

When the Bible talks about ministering in to ways: "be the light" and "be the salt." Light draws things to it. It fills the area and darkness flees. Salt is flavor. It makes food better as well as preserves it. Both of these comparisons sound awesome, but there are some persecution that comes with both.

Welcome to Harvestime Church, where we are starting a new series called "A Transformed Life," where we are looking at the sermon on the mount and how when we actually abide by Jesus' words our life will change.

Jesus gives his longest recorded sermon, presenting his manifesto of what the Kingdom of God is and how to live it out in the world around us.

Jesus's Sermon on the Mount took place on a hill outside of Capernaum. In the preface to the sermon, Matthew shows similarities between Moses, the giver of the Law, and Jesus. Jesus ascended the mountain to bring the law to us, spoke in a still, small voice that could be understood, and called the people near him.

Today we are looking at how the stories in Hebrews 11 are not just about people defining themselves by what they do but are a growing revelation of God revealing Himself to people. The focus is on something bigger than us, and obedience is essential, but God is bringing an unshakable kingdom. The preacher warns about getting tripped up when our understanding of events changes from our perspective.

| Interview with Pastor Alison Amelse |

The Bible teaches us that we are in a spiritual battle against the powers of darkness and that our homes can be a battleground for this warfare. In Ephesians 6:12, it says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." We know that evil spirits can have a negative influence on our lives and can create havoc in our homes. But the good news is that God has given us the power to overcome these evil spirits through the name of Jesus Christ. In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." In this video, we will delve into practical ways you can lead your child through discerning spirits, and how you can help them build on their spiritual gifts. Check out the verses that you can pray over you kids on the Harvestime Church App!

Life groups are an essential component of discipleship, as they provide an opportunity for believers to come together in community and grow in their faith journey. However, it's not enough to simply attend these groups and go through the motions - we must also actively use our spiritual gifts to serve and edify one another. Each of us has been uniquely gifted by God to contribute to the body of Christ, and when we use our gifts to build up one another, we experience a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. Furthermore, working together in this way allows us to overcome challenges and obstacles that we might not be able to on our own. As we journey together in discipleship, let us strive to use our gifts in service to one another and to the glory of God.

We have to try and line up with prophecy in the Bible, because we want to get rid of the counterfeit and restore the true prophetic gift to the church.

"As they listen, their secret thoughts will be exposed, and they will fall to their knees and worship God, declaring, 'God is truly here among you.'"

Changing a mindset to a biblical worldview and also understanding that we do not walk out this life in full-grown faith, but it is a seed that grows in our lives until it fully matures and fills every part of our lives.

Another huge mindset we have to adjust is the idea of Authority. It is only given by the will of God, and those walking in the flesh do not have the Authority of God.

So how do we learn to employ the tools in our tool box so we are not just Pentecostals in name only?

Sometimes we have to go places that we don't necessarily want to go. This is clear in John 4:4 when Jesus had to go through Samaria as it would be easier than going around the area. The problem is the disciples didn't want to go that way as they haven't gotten along with Samaritans. If it wasn't for the fortitude to go into Samarian, they never would have met the woman at the well.

It is not just about giving in order to receive more back from God, it is about how God develops our hearts to be more like His. Being "battle-ready" means you are prepared with gear (your sword, shield, and armor), but also mentally. God constantly asks us to go to bat for what is right and just. He will be with us during difficult times and do what He tells us to do. Each piece of the armor is compiled to create a completely impenetrable wall; while armed, you will not be struck down. Shield of Faith is one of the few pieces, and faith is an incredibly important part of the while. It is the initial line of defense, one you actively aim at catching the enemy's attack. What does active faith look like?

He will be with us during difficult times and do what He tells us to do. The Bible says to "clothe yourselves in the presence of the LORD Jesus." For this sermon, we are starting to discuss the armor of God, and we are beginning with the belt of truth. When the Bible tells us to arm ourselves with the belt of truth, what does that mean? Some say Jesus is Truth, but the armor is God, so Jesus cannot be confined to any one part of it. Let's learn about avoiding hypocrisy and hone in on genuine truth.

Does God really care about us? We see that the devil is always working for bad, and we need to be prepared.

Breaking from our current series of "Battle Ready" to look at the book of Job. We have often heard that he found himself in a sad and depressing situation, as satan was bringing death and destruction all around him. How did he stand during that time, and what was his heart posture? Did he deserve what happened to him?

The focus we will be leaning into as a church will be how to disciple each other in friendship and community outside of the church's four walls. In the last days, people will be bold and arrogant (2 Timothy.) The disciples prayed for a different kind of boldness to stand against others that are trying to push against them. We need to pray for that same boldness.

Is loving the sinner and hate the sin real? Today's culture will tell us that you are hating people when we hate their sin. We are required to endorse actions that we find objectionable, but there is a solution to this dilemma. There is a way to love people for who God made them and, at the same time, not support certain behaviors. Jesus teaches us how authentic love does just that.

In Psalm 46 it says, "Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Although the waters are raging, the fire flames are lapping rapidly, we need to be the ones to be able to stop in that storm to reflect on God.

BE STILL: During this series, we will be challenged to be able to step away from responsibilities and the fast-paced busyness of our crazy lives just to be in His presence and know that He is God. Look at the earth – the trees, soil, and rivers – all of it is a show of His character. What do you learn when you sit and wait on Him?

| Sermon by Pastor Kim Buckman | Excited for battling and impatient after the 40 years in the desert, God's people were on the brink of war with Jericho. But what did God tell them to do? Be still in him, not head full force into the city on a temporary adrenaline rush. He is asking us to do the same, before we dive into some of the hardest of times in our lives and give in to the feeling of urgency, take a moment and rest in Him first.

Life is busy. Maybe we can stop and rest tonight after work. Maybe this weekend. Perhaps next month when things calm down. There is no good time to plan to stop; we just need to stop in our activities, even when they are not done. It's not about trying it during a convenient time. Instead, have that Sabbath be available at any time.

God commands us to rest, to "honor the Sabbath." What does that mean? Do we not get any work done that day? Do we relax and play video games? Do we not move in fear of making God angry? In the Bible, Jesus realized that people were trying to perform the Sabbath. When the Pharisees saw Jesus's disciples picking grain to eat during the Sabbath, they were hysterical – why would they not follow the law? Jesus speaks out and says that He is Lord, even over the Sabbath! Honoring the Sabbath is not about what you do, it's about getting to know Jesus.

We are on the last part of our focus series about forgiveness. This time we look at the decision to become trapped by our own hurt and disappointment towards a person, or do we take the higher road and remember that Jesus is the only true and good judge. Joseph is a great example of this idea; the process he took while dealing with the hurt his brothers caused him will be a great story to show us how we should take on this issue. .

| Sermon by Pastor Kim Buckman | We walk through Psalm 75 with you–how it applies to today. . 1 We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. 2 God says, “At the time I have planned, I will bring justice against the wicked. 3 When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm. Interlude 4 “I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists! 5 Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’” 6 For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness— should raise a defiant fist.[a] 7 It is God alone who judges; he decides who will rise and who will fall. 8 For the Lord holds a cup in his hand that is full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours out the wine in judgment, and all the wicked must drink it, draining it to the dregs. 9 But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. 10 For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.” Check Out Our Website https://htcfamily.org/
