Join me as I ask artists about their inspirations and career advice, talk about how to adjust in fluctuating relationships, how to overcome imposter syndrome, how to balance freelance projects with your day job, and many, many more. This podcast is my exploration of creative confidence and human growth. It’s my first step in choosing to break past my insecurities and seek to express rather than impress. To ask fearlessly, to heal, and to listen. To choose love in a world that seems to be on fire all the time. And perhaps it can be your first step too. You are listening to Doing Fine.
In this episode, I go back in time to January 2021 to recollect a conversation I shared with Shannon May, an art director at Google who emphasizes accessibility and the importance of community in her work. We talk about imposter syndrome, post grad expectations, working in a corporate environment, and finding confidence in ourselves and our art. This episode feels particularly tender and vulnerable as it shares the voice of a past self. As I edited, I cringed several times at my younger self, but I wanted to share this regardless as a way to document the ebb and flow of my twenties. I am learning to embrace and love all the versions of me. Please be gentle.

In this episode, I dive into conversations revolving around burnout, imposter syndrome, and a healthy work/life balance. I interview Odeh Amarin, a brilliantly passionate lead illustrator at Disney Parks, and he talks about how he juggles the joys, tribulations, and pressures of working in a demanding environment.
Special thanks to Grace Wang and Odeh Amarin for letting me use our conversations for this episode.

I came across a letter I wrote to myself as I was graduating college. The girl who wrote it exists in rhythm with who I am today, but I'm also someone completely new. This letter surged a wave of creative frenzy within me, and I decided to make a podcast series to document my creative curiosities, growth, and conversations. A haze of postgrad anxiety, working artist triumphs, and self exploration, this is the trailer for Doing Fine.
