BIO Dan Oz is a keyboardist/ producer/ DJ/ finger drummer from the Gold Coast living in Sydney.
Dan learnt to play the keyboard at about 8 years old and learnt to play by ear. As a teenager, he also got into using computer software to trigger more interesting sounds than his cheap Casio keyboard. He was inspired by a nick skits CD that his parents bought him and learnt to play songs on the keyboard and program cool electronic sounds to play. He was also inspired by the local radio ‘Radio Metro’. He got into some other dance music styles that he heard on the station. Dan soon became fascinated with dance music.
He began recording his live performances on keyboard and uploading videos to YouTube and at the age of 16, he uploaded an Armin Van Burren keyboard remix which was his most successful upload and has reached over 13000 plays organically.
He started using computer music software to produce music at about 16 and has now been releasing a handful of tracks each year in various styles, focusing mainly on four on the floor dance music. He recently released his debut EP of tropical house music and his latest underground progressive tech house track reached over 15000 plays on soundcloud. A few achievements with his tracks include: A single release on Mysterious Station Records. A single release on Love Dance Records records A track featured on Triple J radio. A top 10 finalist for the Radio Metro making music competition. A track reached number 2 on the top 100 trance chart on Hypeddit A track reached number 11 on the top 100 dubstep chart on Hypeddit.
Dan made the cut for Your Shot as a wildcard in 2018 and has got more actively into Djing since then. He has become a resident DJ for Love Dance Radio and has been playing nightclub sets at some venues in Sydney including the Greenwood Hotel, Marlborough Hotel, Candy’s Apartment, The Colombian Hotel, a headline set at the Blue Fig bar to name a few.

As the sun goes down the sky turns dark and so does the music!
Dan Oz recently released an EP of tropical house music and he wanted to make something a bit more nightclub friendly this time. He has used some more organic percussive elements that are familiar in his tropical house music and fused these sounds with a dark techno/ tech house vibe. This is how he came up with the name 'After Dark' as it represents the mood of the music changing from bright to dark as the sun goes down.

This track started out as an instrumental by Dan Oz. Saba Saliba heard the track and was inspired by it and Dan and Saba decided to collaborate and record a vocal version. The lyrics were written and sung by Saba and instrumentals were produced by Dan. Together we have created a summertime dance hit which is full of energy and emotion with string chords and vibrant flute melodies coupled with catchy lyrics and wording, this track is bound to become a long term relationship in your playlist!

My entry for the co-producer sprint 9 competition at Ableton Liveschool. We recorded some samples last Sunday and started making music with the samples in an around the world production session where we all had a go at each others tracks for 10 minutes. Then we took them home and had a week to complete them.
This is my submission for the Co-producer sprint 008 competition at Ableton Liveschool in Sydney. The main mood and genre of the song was created while we did an around the world production day where we all contribute to each others track for 10 mins at a time then rotate around the room.
