So, what are you fearful about? Something that will happen or you think will happen, isn't it? Fear is always about something which does not exist right now, it's always about what will happen. So, you are suffering that which does not exist.

What if instead of responding to fear as something to be eliminated andconquered we asked ourselves, what is behind this STORY? What if your fear was really an act of the imagination which is actually a gateway into a life of abandonment to God's dreams.

What if the cross wasn’t an object—an action of punishment . . . rather, what if it is a place—an action of Gods self-emptying love? The crucifixion is what we did to him—we took his life. The Cross is what Christ did for us—he gave his life.
This shift—from seeing God as a punisher to seeing God as the Great Physician who heals—changes everything. It moves us from fear to love, from guilt to transformation.
Why do many religious systems and organizations teach obedience as the way to salvation? Salvation isn't LEGAL or TRANSACTIONAL!
Jesus' death was not to appease an angry God but to reveal the heart of a God who loves unconditionally. The cross is the moment where God's love triumphs over human violence and sin, highlighting the nonviolent nature of God. God is NOT complicit in violence.
Neither faith nor repentance persuades God to forgive, rather, they are the natural responses to the revelation of what God has already done.

In sacramental Christianity, we believe that God is not only present in these moments, but He is working to do what these symbols represent.

Throughout this series we've emphasized the distinction between true faith and the dangers of magical thinking, particularly in the context of prayer. True faith is relational—focused on deepening communion with God, rather than seeking control over circumstances.
Magical thinking in prayer seeks to control outcomes, focusing on manipulation rather than submission. Intercession isn't convincing God, it's freeing ourselves to participate in God's providence and trust that He will do what's loving and redemptive.
True prayer is a deep surrender to God, beyond the expectation of outcomes. It is not about controlling events but allowing God to be God in us.
2 Cor 5:16 "Therefore, from now on, I no longer know anyone according to the flesh. I no longer see people from a human point of view. This is a radical and most defining moment. No label that could possibly previously identify someone carries any further significance.

The Bible doesn’t give us a blanket of certainty, instead it gives us a quilt, a patchwork of life stories and God moment where we learn life is a journey, and God is by our side, helping us navigate the difficulties. God Desires Our Trust More Than Our "Correct" Beliefs”!

Misunderstandings about the concept of "New Birth" (or receiving Jesus into your heart) have created considerable confusion through the years. The idea of the New Birth most often requires a transaction... if I DO THIS, God will RESPOND by doing (giving) THAT! Salvation isn't about receiving Jesus into your heart… its about how God has already received you into his!
It is not about you inviting Jesus into your life; it is about Jesus already including you in his." (Baxter Kruger). Deeply Trusting Jesus in Prayer expresses itself in; a) total surrender and b) outward acts of love and service.
In its mature forms, prayer is how we exchange ideas and possible next actions, that we express our love, that we learn from each other, that we bargain, that we co-plan, co-work and co-create.
Prayer isn’t just about asking God for things. There are a variety of ways to pray, with each kind being an activity of our relationship with God.
Prayer is not an activity detached from the essence of living; it is the very expression of our existence. Authentic prayer transcends our frequent, powerless requests. It moves beyond mere petitions and dialogues, surpassing even language itself.
Does your behavior impact whether or not God hears your prayers?Matt 5:45 (CEV) "Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong."
If everything is already predetermined and settled in its outcome by God, why did Jesus pray? Prayer changes things... things change me. God leaves things open to me partnering with him to see heaven brought to earth.
Whose In... Whose Out? Is there a boundary marker for salvation? Is it personal belief? Is it believing the right thing? What if sin is more about lost identity than breaking laws?
In the storms of your life, do you have the courage to trust that God’s promise is enough? As you learn more about who Jesus is, and who you are in Christ, you will discover a renewed faith bringing you closer to him and the person he created you to be.

Did Jesus categorize people? Did He teach that there are "good fish and bad fish", to be separated at the "end"... the bad fish being thrown into hell. Or, as Titus states, is Jesus "the grace of God thats appeared for the salvation of all men."

Seasons of change can often be made more difficult by sense or fear that God has withdrawn his favor or presence. Even getting out of bed and putting one foot in front of the other is WORSHIP!
Many today separate God from Christ, suggesting a God behind the God. In truth, God is not hidden but is revealed, particularly in the person of Jesus. This is why there is no predestination or predetermination. God is HERE NOW! . . . Emmanuel!
In our final segment we examine the fundamental aspects of salvation, including who is saved and it's emphasizes in current life. We'll also reexamine initial assumptions about salvation and common notions of heaven, questioning the validity of a disembodied, otherworldly heaven as depicted in the Bible.
This study challenges the common notion that creation is inherently corrupted and emphasizes that salvation is not about escaping the physical world but rather redeeming it. It highlights that salvation is primarily God's plan to rescue and restore, not penalize and remove to heaven those who are worthy.
Sunday's teaching explores the Bible's salvation narrative from Genesis to Jesus, highlighting the purpose of creation and our divine vocation, Israel's role as a model for salvation, and how Jesus embodies and extends Old Testament themes into the life of the church.
Thinking Through Salvation puts the admittedly giant concept of salvation within its larger biblical framework. While salvation includes questions about what happens after death, “going to heaven” is not the primary focus of the story told throughout the Bible.
No where in scripture are we invited to view the Bible as uniform or regard every word as plainly factual.
Feeling fear is natural, allowing it to dictate our decisions, actions, and ultimately our future is not. "Hello, peace. Hello, joy. Hello, love..." God is bigger than ANY fear you're facing!
The noise and conflict of tasks, voices demanding attention, commitments and deadlines… In the middle of all this, there exists a gentle and profound force that can transform our very existence – Gratitude!
You may be feeling a decrease in progress, but rest assured, there is a greater meaning and a divine blueprint for your path.
It isn't my intention today to cast shade on particular prayer or worship practices which are beloved. I want to offer a different view which may challenge accepted "norms." My hope is that you will find yourself drawn into a deeper intimacy with Father God and a greater freedom in the grace of the Exchanged Life!
When you encounter a moral guideline in the New Testament, refrain from transforming it into a strict commandment to follow. Instead, start affirming it as an expression and manifestation of the fruit and character within your already redeemed life and your relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Everything flows out of God's sweet presence. I don’t need to sustain it, make it happen, or try to bring it about. It isn’t my power working in me, but HIS, to bring about the Father's will.
“We think of the Christian life as a ‘changed life’ but it is NOT that. What God offers us is an ‘exchanged life...” ~Watchman Nee Paradox . . . God's grace becomes most evident and potent when we recognize our own weaknesses.
Many of us spend our lives either 1) looking forward to future moments with God, or 2) reflecting on past encounters, instead of truly connecting with God in the present. I want you to discover God in the "here and now."
Throughout scriptures we read of God doing some really awesome stuff. From the parting of the Red Sea to the miracles Jesus performed, we are constantly reminded of God’s power and love. “For I am about to do something NEW. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” - Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)
I don't pray, worship, obey, go to church, volunteer, etc... in order to GET God's presence or blessing. What if I must do nothing to persuade God? What if God’s presence and blessing can’t be negotiated, but only encountered because He loves me!
You Are Not Being Judged. You cannot be condemned. You ARE NOT on Trial! Stop believing the lie!
What does the Bible entail, and is it possible for an individual to experience a relationship with Jesus independently of it? New Testament believers did not embrace the concept of modern, western biblical inerrancy either, because they were taught that the purpose of scripture was to point them to a perfect Jesus, not a perfect manuscript.
You Don't Receive Jesus into Your Heart... He's Received You into HIS! Because many individuals have either left their faith in God or have intentionally shunned a relationship with Jesus because of the legalistic, condemning, evangelical interpretation of who God accepts and loves.

If you are AFRAID of God, ANGRY at God, INDIFFERENT towards God, DISMISSIVE of God, DONE with God! . . . you're right where you need to be. Jesus invites you to REST from it all. From the loneliness, the pain, the hiding, all the effort -- and just REST!
Paul Young - "The alternative to magic is relationship, which is full of mystery and the loss of control. Magic is about knowing the right incantations, formulas, and performances. Relationship is about trust."
A god who is distant, one who must be sought, found, received, or held onto, is NOT the loving God of scripture or His son, Jesus. Such a god is the NOISE of religion--a distraction from the image (likeness) of God you already are. We must address this distraction... we can quiet the noise!

The younger son (known as the prodigal), doesn't change the Father's mind about him, rather he is greeted by his father RUNNING to him from a distance to welcome him, then throwing him a LAVISH, scandalous party!
Trust is NOT a formula of believing right. It isn't a life of pushing the right buttons according to our ideologies. It's "TRUST in the Lord", NOT trust in an interpretation... or even in a particular scripture itself.

Is it possible that God is SO good, the Gospel so scandalous, that redemption will reach all of humanity and all death will be swallowed up in the VICTORY of God's love?
If the Gospel is about a system of correct beliefs with the objective of going to Heaven at life's end, coercing others into accepting Jesus lest they be eternally punished could possibly make sense. However, what if the Gospel is NONE of this?
As long as the cross is the place where an angry god poured out his wrath upon his own son, you will never see the beautiful cross as the self-sacrificial giving of the crucified God in love for the world.
Look with us at several key scripture passages utilized to expound the idea of Hell, Hades, Lake of Fire, Eternal Punishment, Everlasting Punishment, and Judgment. You will find our time together uplifting and liberating!
Where does the teaching of eternal conscious torment come from? Is it really biblical or was it added to the interpretation of scriptures? Did God punish Jesus on the Cross to satisfy His justice or demonstrate His love because we were already forgiven? These and other questions of faith and destiny are answered.
This series of messages, will be pulling from the work of some of history's, as well as present day's, greatest theologians, scholars, and writers, including the writings of; the patristic fathers (Clement, Origen, Ignatius, and Gregory of Nyssa), Swiss theologian Karl Barth, Scottish theologian TF Torrance, English Theologian NT Wright, and American theologian and pastors Gregory Boyd, and Brian Zahnd. I owe a deep debt of gratitude to the work of Brad Jersak, Canadian author, speaker, pastor, and teacher, for his book, "Her Gates Will Never Be Shut", upon with this series is based, and numerous comments I'll share today will be taken from this outstanding book.
