Parts Unknown, an indie pop show that has been on Mondays on CiTR from 1pm to 3pm since 1999. It's like a marshmallow sandwich: soft and sweet and best enjoyed when poked with a stick and held close to a fire.
APPARENTLY THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS JAMES WOODS 1983(?) FILM IS THE CATCHY PHIL COLLINS SONG USED EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE!!!!!!
APPARENTLY THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS JAMES WOODS 1983(?) FILM IS THE CATCHY PHIL COLLINS SONG USED EXTENSIVELY THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE!!!!!!
A Beautiful Hot Day Today!!! They Say It Will Rain Tomorrow!!! Again!!! I LOVE THIS CITY!!!!

if ever you need the perfect soundtrack while you are cleaning the Main Hall at your Co-op after a Piano Recital, might I suggest..............
from Nardwuar!!! At least the card said it was from him. Must have been an April Fool's PRANK!!!! Also ....HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN PICARD!!!!!
and partner...................what are bands I am not keen on!?! However, there is some childish fun to the new Partner track, Long MacQuade. Some nice guitar shredding!!!
IF I HAVE TO HEAR THOSE SONGS AGAIN I WILL.......DANCE A WALTZ OF ABSOLUTE HARMONIOUS JOY!!!!!!!
playing at the Smiling Bhudda Cabaret, February the 1st with Chain Whip and Pet Blessings. I forgot to mention this!!!
thanks, Mark Poppa Drones, David Mattatall, and Bandcamp for such interesting 'best of' picks that pasted together in the span of two hours. Sounds like a parts unknown show to me!!!!!
OH DUNCAN....IF ONLY YOU WERE HERE TO TELL ME THE KIRK DOUGLAS STORY BEFORE I PLAYED A KIRK DOUGLAS SONG!!!!!
i was flustered with a whole classroom of hyper kids that my friend Julie Colero (that's CiTR alum Julie COLERO!!!!) brought to my show that I played the wrong Laverne song. IT HAD NAUGHTY WORDS AND I REGRET THE ERROR!!!!!!!!
I ATTEnDED A LANTERN WORKSHOP WITH MY WIFE YESTERDAY AND IT WAS AWESOME> I FAILED TO MENTION THIS ON MY SHOW!!!!!
uncle arthur clemenson. you were lost and gone for ever, uncle arthur clemenson. Joined the army was a soldier lost his life in world war 2, you were lost and gone forever Uncle Arthur we love you!!!!!!
I didn't have to go work at Labour Ready. Back in the day, that used to happen. I remember having to clean out a basement suite that was vacated by a couple of brutes who left it in a shambles!!! I removed a tarp off a dog house and didn't realize....that's where the wasps slept!!!! That was my first day! Happy Labour day, everybody!!!!
OH LUKE MEAT YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF ME!!!!! I FINALLY PLAYED NURSE WITH WOUND!!!!!!!
A quick note about the band Grim Reaper. I all but forgot about this band, but because of Weezer using a Grim Reaper video for their song We are all on drugs years ago, I think about them every once in a while! Massively underrated. And their album cover for Fear No Evil has a Grim Reaper (complete with scythe) motorcycle its way through a plate glass window. What more can be said?
nanaimo. whitecaps. crace mountain. KMVP. protection island. boat. ali baba's. library computer time only once a day in nanaimo. fine. white room. the comes.
VANCOUVER'S BEST!!! AND YOUNGEST!!!! AND BRIGHTEST!!!! SO MUCH POTENTIAL!!!! BE PART OF IT THIS COMING SATURDAY!!!! DOORS AT 130!!!! SHOW AT 230!!!!!!!!!!

can't explain it. Something in the air. I had a nice chat with Greg, though. that was nice. off the air. Trust me. He's great/
Usually Music Waste specials on the Parts Unknown show suck. This exceeded my expectation, but let me tell you right now....my expectations were way low!
I got a thermos. I have been the worst coffee cup abuser of my generation and I had to police myself. I got a THERMOS thermos that would make my late father proud...solid, bulletproof, non-flashy, with an amazing ability to keep my coffee hot even if I was stuck on Antarctica for some reason.
...bombarded their way into the booth, demanding I play more Faith Healer and Dumb and I told them that I play them all the time and they said oh yeah never mind!!!!
I am happy to wear it, Adrian. Thank you for going through all that trouble just to get me a shirt my size. It reminds me of story one of my Piano Students told me. She is a grandma who has a love/hate relationship with her daughter in law. My student invited her and her family to dinner, and prepared a giant meal. She spared no expense. When the daughter in law arrived, she looked at the meal and proclaimed "I can't eat this! I am on the Atkins Diet" The way Alice (my student) described the scene was amazing. She was so pissed off!!! So to my dear friend Adrian, the shirt is awesome and it makes me look like a God and I thank you!!!!
Listen. Act like you have some sense. You already have a yellow card. If you get another yellow, that means you get a red card, and you are out of the game. And if you celebrate your goal, don't take your shirt off in celebration, because that means you get a yellow card and your team would be down a man. So............Why are you TAKING OFF YOUR SHIRT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that I would ever have a reason to play Huey Lewis!!! But he is calling it a career due to hearing loss so I thought I would give him his due! I was also going to tell a story on the show, but I forgot because I was ill and cranky. But here is my story......I ran into Doers frontman Sean Maxey years ago, and I asked how he was. He told me that he went to an awesome rock show and then he proceeded to show a picture of the singer on his phone. It was a picture of a wrinkled old man that I did not recognize. I asked "Who's that?" He seemed shocked that I did not know that it was none other than HUEY LEWIS!!! I thought he was kidding, but he was definitely not kidding. So I said...."Wow!" True Story!
I just heard your last show, and it was wonderful. I feel I am the only one in the world that feels that the songs a DJ chooses for his or her show is a description of themselves, their personalties. And I loved the songs you choose, slow, sometimes harsh, always expressive, always thought provoking. Be well, Andy! I'll see you around!
what a success. BUT!!!! I blame myself, I sang like a frustrated goat!!!! Just tell the sound lady you can't hear your voice in the freaking monitor. Is that so hard?
Vapid, Cruel Sport and Tommy Tone. This Friday at the RED GATE!!!!!!! ALBUM rELEASE. Hope to see you there!!!
I took in a "show" at the Toast last Friday. It was more like five speeches about the speaker's favorite songs or albums. And again, Duncan McQ sets the bar high again!!!! He had a speech about a certain that was apparently in Ex Machina, and.....well you had to be there. It was so amazing. He is so much better a person than I am!!!! But Adrienne Labelle's speech was pretty amazing. I think I connected more her speech, because I will never be and have never been a PARTY DAD!!!!!
this show was freaking doomed from the moment Madeline spoke those words that I surprisingly have not heard in 18 years and hopefully never hear again......."the internet's down!" WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE INTERNET'S DOWN???? ALL THE SONGS I WAS GOING TO PLAY ARE ON YOUTUBE OR
ON PEOPLE"S BANDCAMP SITES!!!! AND SYLVIE"S WITH ME TODAY!!!!! AND YOUNG UPSTART EAMON (SIC?) IS ON THE SHOW FOR AN HOUR!!! THE INTERNET CANNOT BE FRICKING DOWN RIGHT NOW!!! LORD IN HEAVEN, MAKE THE INTERNET BETTER AGAIN!!!!!!
It all started with Sunday night previous. I really got into the movie PUNCH DRUNK LOVE....IT WAS REALLY GOOD!!! So good, in fact, that I was buzzing until one in the morning. So....the radio show was going swimmingly...I played an hour of amazing music in honour of Black History Month. Then the SAM froze on me. Then Stephen Malkmus started being a jerk! Then the other computer froze on me. Then I hit the wall. Then I took a knee. One hour of Parts Unknown is all you get today. It was Karma. I should have been with my family making valentines out of felt and construction paper.
Of Seminal Toronto band, The Pursuit of Happiness.....Your SOCAN cheque is IN THE MAIL!!!! Ben...That was for you!!!!
I don't what is more shocking: The Grateful Dead doing a disco song, or the Dent May doing a cover of The Grateful Dead doing a disco song!!!
that's the bloody band I was going to play with Matkaverskan!!!! I was thinking it was WARPAINT OR SCAVENGERS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. BUT I COULD NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER!!!!!! DON"T GET OLD, PEOPLE!!!!!!!
The former Hoko's is growing on me again. Nice atmosphere. Quaint Sunday show with Night Bust Hi Ranger and Monsoon Moon. I listened to Andy's show and Shaun Watt was on, talking about the Big Joy Festival this weekend. I am going to try and get to it. You should try too,
So ......Kraftwerk's classic first track of their timeless TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS album hit home for me twice this week. One, while my wife was showing me a driver's perspective tour of Hastings Street AND Campbell River in the 1950's on YouTube, I decided that Europe Endless would be the soundtrack of our YouTube Journey. Needless to say, I picked correctly! Secondly, my 5 year old Daughter cannot stop listening to that song. Of all the songs in the world for a five year old to be grooving to................
An AC/DC song to honour the memory of guitarist Malcolm Young. However, I had all the confidence in the world to play a song written by Charles Manson!
scary sets from PHONO PONY AND MARK MILLS!!!!! MY DAUGHTER IS DRESSING UP AS A 1930's ERA HOLLYWOOD MOVIE STAR!!!!!
Tributes were coming in hot and heavy. Wasn't the best singer or songwriter, But I would be lieing if I said I was not influenced by the Tragically Hip in some way . I remember The Hip performing at the Canada 125 party in the 90's. A few times through his set, he said "happy stupid day" to the audience, and I always remembered being upset when he said that. And just recently, while driving in my car, it occurred to me why he said that. I didn't go to any of the final shows, but I did check out what songs he did as his closers and what he began with. Always close with Ahead By a Century. That is what they call in the business a crowd pleaser.
sorry for all the You Tube ads. When Sylvie needs you attention, you pay the attention she deserves or you will regret it!!!!!!!
yep. still on the air. a favorite question old friends that haven't seen me for a while ask is "still got that show?" oh indeed I do, old friend. And I love it more than ever.
THAT WAS THE CLASH SONG I WANTED!!!!!! I WAS TWO SONGS OFF!!!! FIRST SONG NEXT WEEK!!!!
pretty good. And then I played a !!! song that didn't work, and all the air went out of my balloon!!!! Listen until 2:12!!! Also, getting Max in from of the dials was a revelation!!! We must do that again some time!!!!!
everytime Duncan comes to the show, he tells me about another indecent act or comment a band member or venue owner has made and how a music community bands together to CRUSH them!!! I am still amazed about the PWR BTTM saga, and I was just briefed on Comments that Warm Soda frontman Matthew Melton and his wife made about a whole bunch of things. And then there is the whole Cobalt saga that leaves me feeling really gross. And then I played Humble Pie!!!
My Sunday was crazy. I showed the effects today. I will spare you the details of my crazy Sunday, but let me just tell you, if you were looking for a couple of computer desks and a filing cabinet, you came one day too late, buddy!
It was Exquisite!! I played Skinny Puppy! They are actually pretty good. For 20 years, I had this idea that I would hate them. NOT SO!!!!!! I learned how to answer a Fricking PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!! GIRL TONES. AMAZING!!!!!
thankful for the sunshine and the air conditioner in the booth today. thankful for campus radio. thankful for Sylvies and Alisons. thankful for bands. thankful for shows. thankful friends and laughs. thankful for sisters. thankful.
That Red Gate room they played at on Granville Island does not do it for me if I was going to play there, but it was perfect for Robyn Jacobs and her band, Only A Visitor. They played there on Friday as part of their album release. It was so wonderful, let me tell you. And thanks to this guy, Piano Recitals Have been Declared COOL from now on!!!!! REJOICE!!!!!!!!!!!
so I couldn't find my keys, and I have a habit of leaving them in keyholes. So I looked everywhere for about two hours, to no avail. I already went to the recycling door and my keys weren't there. But I tried again. Of course the keys weren't there, but I did see a note that said KEYS FOUND with the person's number!!!! The lady who found them was a lady I had a run in with months ago. I startled her and her dogs pulling into the parking lot. She was so mad at me, she followed me into the parking lot and gave me a good once over!!!! The lady, figuring out who I was from my voice on the phone, could have dug a hole and dropped the keys in. But she told me she dropped them in her mail box and I could get them there. Lo and Behold, she was true to her word. I picked them up and that was that. So thank you to that lady!!!!!! MUSIC WASTE THIS WEEK!!!!!!
RIP to my mom and dad, who died 5 days apart from each other. It wasn't a shock but it still sucks. Thinking about the good stuff is the best way around the sadness. But when I think about the really good times, then I am back where I started, sadder than ever. My mom helped teach me piano without playing a single note all her life. She was taught the notes of the music staff by my piano teacher, Erica, and she wrote her own flash cards for me to learn the notes every night before I went to bed for a year. Changed my life. My Dad was tough, quick to anger and impatient. But he loved me and eventually excepted the direction my life took. He told me I was a good father, and although he didn't say sorry for much, I remember vividly the times he did. They are not there anymore, after being in my life for 42 years. A tough month to say the least. Thanks for everyone's amazing support. Blessings to you all.
for coming and thank you to Mrs Korinth for taking Sylvie for a pee while I do my show!!!!
A crap LOAD of new stuff to play this week!!! Also. Thank you to Ben and Travis for your amazing fundrive donations. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVING WIFE!!!!
WHITE REAPER IS ALL SORTS OF GREAT. ALSO EXPLODED VIEW>>>>>DANG. love chris
I had two teenagers on my show, trying to mess me up , a little daughter in Booth C, freshly done with Fantastic Mr. Fox and I was barely, if at all, rattled.
Today I was rattled and I only had Ben and Duncan on. Conclusion? Ben and Duncan are veteran show rattlers!!!!!
Thank you Spring Break. Thank you Sylvie. Thank you Madeline and Eleanor. Thank you UBC. Thank you The Association!!! Thank you Bandcamp and Youtube!!!!!
PLAYING AT THE COBALT THIS WEDNESDAY MARCH THE FIRST. My Friend Cailla is very talented. Go see here. And a comment about Duncan and Ben. I kid them a lot, but those two blokes, as far as friends go, are as good as you can get. Congrats on 10 years, Donut Duncan!!!
that timmy thomas song is so good. that charles bradley song is so good. that hugh le caine piece is so good. that can track is so good. And so on.
From Operation Makeout for tying the knot. Always lovely to see you on the street. Next time hopefully you'll show me that rock on your finger!!!
Sylvie did not make one appearance, but I am sure you felt her ominous presence. Sorry to the caller who called 3 times and then gave up on my dumb ass!!
I COULD NOT GET INTO THE S.U.B. MONDAY SOOOOOO.....I TOLD OL' MARK RICHARDSON TO SHOVE OFF!!! AND HE SAID NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT SUCKA....OH A TOUGH GUY EH.....?.......WELL TAKE THIS AND THAT AND THAT AND SOME OF THIS......GET PACKING!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS BY THE WAY!!!!
People of Sweden....Give Black Mountain back their gear. I bet that band Dungen has it!!!
brutal week. everyone is so bummed out. A handful of musical legends die on this year, Trump wins. And being a dad is fucking tough sometimes. And being a husband is fucking tough sometimes. you feel me?
then I tried to keep my head above water while Sylvie was switched from booth to booth. well it was just one booth. Thanks to Duncan for saving my tail. You are right. The Cleveland Indians should change their name. But to what?
on my birthday. if you didn't already know from those two topics I talked about in depth on the show.
now I know what it means when the soundwave is partially darkened on a band's soundcloud page. I bet only TUNS does that. THE MURALS, PEOPLE!!!! AND!!!!! DISCORDER IS ADULT SIZE AGAIN!!!! SOUND THE TRUMPET!!!!
17 years on the air. The birthday was today on this show. It was messy but a good kind of messy. Love to all of you. Max helped me out. Expect big things from him. He will be the next George Strombo..Strumbah...Strumbolombo....Tom Power!
I didn't talk about on this on the show, but my friend Amanda put on a day long festival that I had the honour of playing in. SYSTEM OF A DOWN cover band.
need I say more. Thank you AMANDA. love chris
a couple months ago, my friends Adrian and Amanda had a real scare. Amanda found a tumour in one of her ovaries. So before we knew if it was malignant, Adrian and Amanda were pretty shaken up, worried about what ifs. A week later, them and their friends found out it was benign, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. A little while later, I heard of Genevieve Castree's horrible situation: pancreatic cancer. I read it was inoperable, but I was still hoping for some miracle. An outpouring of funds and well wishes showered them. But it was not enough. RIP Genevieve. I only met you once. I loved your art and your music. I die a lot knowing your little baby wont know her mama. Blessings to your husband, Phil and the little one and to all those affected.
I always liked the band Peace. Dan is a great songwriting, and Duncan told me that not only is the band breaking up, the Record Shop he owned with his lady, Katayoon, is closing down. I wish them the best.
do a decent Janet Jackson cover? deerhoof....? come on guys? Iceland beats England in the Euros!
and I was OFF. Ish. I don't know if you can tell as much as I think you can. When I feel gross or tired, I always think it shows, but I can never tell with any other DJ ever unless they say they are feeling crappy. And then I say "oh really, I hadn't really noticed. I'm just glad you played that needles//pins song!"
I was in a band a long time ago that got a chance to play with Genevieve and her husband Phil Elverum. While I "chrisappeared" down the main road in Anacortes, the rest of the band played a board game with Genevieve and Phil. I remember one of my buddies telling me that Genevieve made a statement something along the lines of "I only go see shows when my friends are playing. And at the time I remember thinking to myself "what an arrogant hag!"
Years later I thought about that, and realized quite quickly right then that " I DO THAT TOO!!!" And now all I can think of when I think of Genevieve Castri is.........I hope she gets though this.
I realize how many of my favourite songs I don't play on this show due to the fact that every body knows them and can hear them elsewhere. I have loved the Tragically Hip for a long time, so it sucked to hear last week about Gord Downie's cancer. I hope he can enjoy his last tour with all his friends.
of an almost empty student union building. so peaceful. Cam Mayhem was probably not yet 18 when he was in a band called Retrofire, that played at Shindig. Cam is back in a band called Spell, and I am sure you know by the name of the musician, that the music he plays is clearly Greek Polka. May 27th at Fortune, Spell plays with Danava from Portland. A show not to miss!!! Happy Victoria Day Everybody.!!!!
that's it!!!! must have been blabbing A LOT!!! Sorry to Duncan for hearing my stories of dread off the air. Much Love to the Dunc-ster!!!!
Maria from the band Les Chausettes came by with a new CD for CiTR! I'll Take That and Play THAT!!!!!!!
I had more energy last week when my daughter was on the show and there was a baby sleeping in the booth. But I did get to new Adrian Teacher before Duncan ....so there's that!!!!
a no show for a performance, but Jill and Long Time friend, Juls, came for a chat. Get better, mister David Barclay!!!!! RIP Prince. Congrats Caitlin and Matty on their brand new little bun!!!!!
i peered upon my first ever Discorder .....a march issue featuring Sleater-Kinney on the cover. Thanks Tim. Who knew it would lead to me in to the Monday from 1pm to 3pm slot at CiTR for 17 years. Good show . That's what Yaz sounds like?
GOT LOST AND I DIDN"T CARE !!!!! on my way to UBC BY BIKE LOST IN THE TRAILS. If you walk in a trail, I guess you need a dog. good show.....speaking of good shows APRIL 29th at the Astoria!!!!! PHILLY'S SHEER MAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was screwing telling you through the whole bloody show!!!!
chris
the first song Gob played in 1995 opening for cub was not the Mary Tyler Moore Show theme, but in face, the Laverne and Shirley theme. Parts Unknown regrets the error.
I had one song prepared before I came to citr. I really like that Dralms tune. I was thinking of doing a Black History Month show for Fundrive next week. I miss having a reason to play the mighty EXUMA!!!! you don't really need a reason. happy FUNDRIVE everybody!!!!!
but I have no time to find out! Also, fire alarm drill at about 1:13 that fucked up my rock set. But it was a short drill. love chris
You did an absolutely incredible job hosting Shindig. You have always been passionate about the bands in Vancouver, and it was perfect fit for you. I hope this Friday (Feb the 5th 2016) there will be some old faces coming by Pat's Pub to buy you a drink. I hope to be one of them. your friend, chris.
every week another sad tragedy. This one was a shock. My wife Alison knew Jordan when she lived in Victoria. She was saddened to hear that Jordan's body was found around Hornby Island. He was only 36. Just so brutal. An "air out of my sails" kind of show. I tried.
and this is the one I am getting evaluated on!!!! it's the painted fruit song. It put me in a bad mood. Many songs have done that in the past, and usually I look back and say, "what was the big deal" So I'll give it a day and listen to the show. And then I will barf!
musician and songwriter and Anacortes resident Karl Blau lost his home and belongings to a horrible fire over the weekend. friends have gathered around and raised roughly 23,000 dollars. Thoughts and prayers to Karl.
on hastings. WHAT THE HELL. THERE IS NO FRICKING ROOM TO MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NONE!!!!!!!!
The Newly Reformed B-Lines, out of the rock game for a whopping 17 minutes, blew my mind on Halloween. Stabba was pretty awesome. Thank you, Adrian letting me be a Modern Lover.
I think I forgot how to use the phone for the Collapsing Opposites interview. I hope it worked. Ryan Rosell finally came on. Sylvie got on the mic. I gave up after 2:23pm!!!! Andy Resto don't leave me!!!!
Ryan Rosell was promised. But he bailed. He did, however, show up at a show I played. And for that, I am greatly grateful. I promised on the 9th of October to play for one full hour. It was a pain in the ass, but I did it and lots of people stayed for the whole tilt. Amazing stamina, friends. I had something to do, but you just had to stand there. Great standing!!!! Love to all of you!!!!
this might be my last special guest for awhile. It goes without fail that I turn in to
an asshole whenever I have a guest on. I am way too protective of a show that no
one listens to. So to Eric, Darren, Jesse, Natalie, Robert, Rose, Ben, Duncan, Brian
Paul(double for paul) Plow......my sincerest apologies!!!!!
guitarist suffered an injury (a concussion)Van was totalled. Tour cancelled. Godspeed in getting back home, guys!!!!!
Stockhausen, John Cade, Nihilist Spasm Band and Local experimental acts like Glaciers and Scant Intone were played and discussed.
my show was OK but the Julie Doiron show Ben Lai at 6 o'clock was fun, thought provoking and worth a podcast download!
Exuma to begin, then some news about the Emergency room and rumoured break up of yet another great band in Vancouver. You say sucky city, yes? I say Resiliant Mother Fuckers in this city. Burn down our venues! We will make new ones! You cannot kill the fight in us Vancouverites, city hall. Just the weak ones putter off to Montreal (Nut Brown, TRAITOR!!!) It just makes us more focussed and more creative. Sooner or later, one of us will win the lottery, and we can do the venue thing legit, but until then............................
Robert has been bugging me get on the program forever. He liked the show. He made me some mix CD's. Then I asked him to host for the hour. He has got great taste. That song "that's why darkies are born" is messed up!! That Captain Beefheart song is awesome as well. He has got a great radio voice. Far better then mine. cheers.
my lady Alison and our friends from the Apollo Ghosts joined me for a year end wrap up show. My apologies to Bonnie Billy for talking all over his tune. tunes by Sic Alps, Women (yes Luke, you convinced me) The Frames, Katie Stelmanis and the Lovely Sajia Kabir illuminate the Parts Unknown 2008 Best Of
show. see you in 2009 everybody!!
A long shot...actually...this was just a reason to get Ryan on my show. His music taste is wonderful. I hope Vancouver doesn't win. The way Fun 100 went out was the way everyone in a band wants to go out.....in a blaze of glory you can see a mile away. Next week, I will have my best of show!! take care
cnris
played a They Shoot Horses song! I was in the band. The band broke up this year. I'm sure Bryce has played Smugglers on his show. No? Take care.
This fellow was supposed to come to CiTR tomorrow with a mix CD for me but I had to record yesterday. Good Show though I think take care
a fine balance. I've never listened to CiTR more than during this fund drive. All Awesome in your Ears....two young folks having an great ol time on the air. Duncan's Donuts. Exquisite. Ground Control. Inspired. Enjoy the show, my friends.
People were generous so I played A lot of there requests. Thanks for all your generousness!!! That Jordy song is the song of whatever year it came out of!!!
chris
what an awesome song. AND Anvil! And Sic Alps! And? Gang Gang Dance? Meh...they're OK.
chris
Good show. Finally got to play the song by David Bowie when he sings in German. So good. What a scrapper. Also. Some sic alps, Jan Terri, Stolen Minks, some Loup Garou by LALA, a great Big Star song, a passable Cure cover and many other great gems. Enjoy!
Jordie Sparkle guest hosts and attempts to convince the audience of Parts Unknown to listen to the song pseudo-scientifically proven to be the Most Unwanted Song ever.
going on tour for a while. Special Guests to host. OSWALDO JORDIE COCHRANE!! see you in a little while. The tiny TIM song at the end..... exquisite
Sorry to be so lax. Hyping up the Old Time Relijun concert and other wonderful things. Take care
Gang Violence. My lock to win Shindig. Also played that Will Oldham song that Johnny Cash sang. Triumphant!
Hope you enjoy a little hackneyed but it worked out ok. Randy newman has been writing the same song for 40 years. I am kind of kidding.
chris
another podcast of a show recorded only hours ago. Got a call from a weird guy that kept saying my name in this really creepy way. One of my friends might be playing a trick on me but I can't prove it. YET>>>>>never.
hey Tom Waits! Homosexuals! All Hail King Khan! Tonight! Cut Copy! I tried it and I liked it. New Sigur Ros! pretty good. Old Make Up Patti Smith! Hope you enjoy!
chris
more devastating then the last game. Luke destroyed me at on-air Rock trivia. I know his system, but I have no defence against his knowledge about the Beatles. He kept landing on that "you pick a topic" square and he kept going to the bloody Beatles. It was horrible. To be fair to myself, all he has to do answer question. I had a show to do. And what a show! The Women song and the Quintron song killed the show for me. Quintron always comes through, but i picked an old one and it just did not work. Awesome King Khan song and that Louvin brothers tune with the speech in it is amazing. Lots of other good stuff as well. Take care. chris
thanks to BLEEK for liking the Mister Magic song it is a classic also on the program is a great They Shoot Horses cover my friend Trevor made. Some good tunes. A little tight though. Hope to be better next time.
The soloman burke song at about 2 ish. That's the money song. Also. new Nick Cave and some other great tracks I promise.
sleeping in my comfy bed right now. Music Waste was wonderful. Sorry the show is a mess. Next week will be without a doubt the greatest show of my life./ chris
Music Waste happens this June 4th to the 8th, so the first hour had me trying to explain that to you. Lots of good bands. If I may, might I suggest you see Hank And Lily, Ora Cogan, Mattress, Stamina Mantis and Flowers from the Man that shot your cousin, if not just for the name. The first hour was dedicated to the upcoming week of mischeif and wonder.
chris
it is still May

I am liking the Vancouver scene. I am hearing about a whole bunch of acts again and they are great. Search Parties, Terrorbird, Lala, A relative Distance, Kellarissa, No gold, Nu Sensae, The Defecktors, are only a few of them. Keep em coming I will try to play them all.
chris
so I, through the years, have played alot of kids bands. I believe it stems from being a piano teacher, and finding great joy in the fact that some kids just get it. The first hour is a collection of kids from a whole bunch of time periods making sloppy out of tune wonderful delightful music. The same riff raff in the last hour.
hope you enjoy.
a couple of weeks of not podding.
the first week
was not here
the second week
the show was a disaster except a Rafter song that I will
get to next week (the horns are awesome)
this one I enjoyed
good flow
new No Kids (listen to Duncan's Donuts this week or the podcast. I bet myself 1500 bucks that his first song was going to be a no kids song.
There are some good albums coming out so next week I am looking forward to.
I will be giving lots of tickets out so tune in.

So I began with track one from the Black Mountain album.
I am kind of torn. There are too many venues again. You know what that means? There will be too few venues again in six months. EVERYONE!!! To my HOME. For Rockin'!!!! I will give you the directions. It will be called Chez Riffic and Sealed With a Kiss will bow to my venue!!!
But I digress...............
Saw the Black rider and it was great!
Luke played me runnin with the devil with just David Lee roth's vocals I couldn't play it for you. You really missed out. Listen to Luke Meat's show on Wednesday at 11:30am.
going to see dan deacon and already I am tired. see you next week.
in this show i tried to play alot of newer tunes but man does the quality of the myspace songs suck ass. I played a dragons of zynth songs and it sounds dreadful

Happy new year and all that. I got some great gifts and played them on the show. Went a little too much on the AC/DC and got the 10th degree from the immortal Nimrod.
Sam the Sham.....rock's forgotten genius.

The Kinks.....man what a good band
This show I was pretty happy with
a little bit of everything
hope you like it
saw Daniel Johnston doc
and loved it
got a message from my friend Merek and played his band
I really like it
Played a good mix
good hustle
played a song for some friends who seem to know more about music than I ever will
hope you enjoy.
I didn't play any BA Johnston, but I recently had conversation with him that I am thinking of right now. He was telling me that he has been with his girlfriend for, like five years. On one hand, I am happy for him. She must be a great lady. But On the other hand, all his songs are about how much of a loser he is and how he cant find a girlfriend. I feel so deceived. My friend Pietro has this on line Magazine complete with CD compilation called Spoox
which stresses odd musicians and found sounds. I played alot off his album on this show. Happy Halloween.
a little bit of everything
hope you enjoy
should just get friends to make CD's for me
makes life easy
thanks ROBBBBBBBBB
chris
I watched Rushmore for the first time. That Creation song is awesome and I played it first and then I played a whole bunch of other songs. Not a bad show. Not my best though.
Happy Thanksgiving

Played Boris as a first song to apologize for missing my first lesson with a new student
HIS NAME>>>>>
BORIS!!!!!
a mess. quite the mess. not even a wonderful mess. The spock song at the end was kind of fun, though.
