Today I was inspired to record a podcast for the first time in months. I wanted a meditation text that would be warm and hopeful, too.
I discovered this website in the process:https://www.una-lign.com/post/morningsunrise
The introduction text to the meditation is the following: This guided meditation script will help you feel more gratitude for what is currently working in your life.
I figured that more gratitude is something we would all be grateful for.

Words are powerful. They can unite or divide. Hurt or heal.
I chose to read here, for you, her words of wisdom and grace. Read them with me, join me.
Let them be a reminder of your worth and a reminder of the power of unity. A reminder that a great trial of our belief in good has been replaced by the rich promise of a kind tomorrow.
Love,
Caroline

Emotions are an essential part of the human experience. For many people, it’s the part that we
listen to most, that provides motivation and meaning.
When emotions are positive, all may be well, but when they’re painful, they can send us into a spiral of depression, confusion and blame. And, in spite of their importance in our lives, many of us don’t know a lot about how emotions actually work or how we can learn to be with them in ways that cultivate our well-being and connection with ourselves and others.
It helps to know there are three parts to an emotional experience centered in different parts of your brain: physical sensations (like tightness), an emotion (like anger or grief) and the thoughts about it (like the story about what happened). Most people have learned to focus on–and believe–the emotion and the thoughts that surround it, and don’t pay much attention to its physical expression.
There are many traditional mindfulness practices designed to help balance and enrich your emotional life. One approach guides you to go deeply into these often-ignored physical sensations that arise from the oldest part of your brain. When you pay attention to the physical expression for a sustained period of time, it settles down, and the emotions and thoughts follow. You then have a greater balance of body, mind and heart to guide your understanding and behavior.
Here’s a practice you can do any time you’d like to feel more grounded in the midst of a difficult emotion.

Desiderata GO PLACIDLY amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Our five senses bring us in the present moment when we are attentive to what they communicate. We observe our surroundings, listen in on what fills the air. We can touch the different textures of what is next to us , taste or drink a personal favorite and let the perfumes around fill us with emotion. This guided meditation may be able to guide you in the surrender to your senses, from a very simple and genuine exercise. Be good to yourself always.
